Opiate is an amazing thing and an amazing experience for anyone who likes or loves Tool. They play all the best Tool songs and play them amazingly well. They don't scrimp either...an 18 song set list (and that's 3/4 of what they can play)....2 hours-plus. The videos always enhance the experience as well. Here's why they are better than Tool: 10 Bucks!; an awesome and long set list; and you don't have to deal with Maynard hanging out in the shadows. Bottom line...these guys love Tool, love playing Tool, and you will love them for it. I've seen them six times...there will be many more as long as they're around.

Unbelievable show. My friend and I have seen Tool in concert 4 times and Opiate sounded as close to Tool as could be expected. There is no substitute for the original but these guys did a great job as a tribute band to one of the most unique sounding musical groups around.

I expected a mediocre show for $5 but it was freaking amazing. Every member of the band knew wtf they were doing. I'm going to keep track of nearby cities to see them again.

My friend and I (and several others) were prepared to walk out of this immediately if it didnt fulfill the bare minimum of our expectations. These guys had serious balls even attempting to play a Tool Tribute show RIght?? 2 words............NAILED IT. Aside from a kid's budget and the obvious missing high dollar video spectacle, this was put on just like a classic mid-90's Tool show. They stuck to the basics, and didnt let their attitudes interfere in any way. They....Just.....Played. And played not just well, but from a bass and Guitar standpoint (these 2 guys steal the entire show), they were near perfect. Buy the time the 2nd song of the set starts, and the initial shock of "wow! these guys can really play", begins to settle, You will be able to sit back and let the whole experience Just Happen. I hear there coming back here to Kansas City in March. Im There For Sure.

These guys were amazing! Tool has been my favorite band for at least 13 years, almost half my life, and they sounded almost as good as Tool themselves. For a live show the quality of the music was exceptional as well!

Opiate is probably the very best Tool cover band out there! This is what I imagine it would be like actually see Tool before they made it big, just jamming out at a local venue! The lead singer came out dressed like Maynard used to with his face painted and wearing a bra. The band was absolutely amazing! And the bass player didn't miss a single note, which is really saying something considering the difficulty and precision it takes to play Tool songs!! The visual show was a lot like what you see when you actually go to a Tool concert too! Not exactly, but very close. A lot of the Alex Grey artwork made into a streaming video complimenting the music very well.
