awesome concert. intimate feel. Not much audience interaction/storytelling, etc. 15 minute intermission. Esperanza is a phenomenal and emotional performer.

The concert was amazing, this is my third time seeing her and she is fabulous!!!!

Esperanza Spalding's Radio Music Society concert was incredible!! Not only does she have an amazing voice - she sings like an angel - but her instrument skills are phenomenal! Her band was equally incredible! She sang her entire new album without a break and came out for an encore!! Best show I have been to in a very long time. I highly recommend!!

An absolutely stellar show in which Esperanza Spalding comes out and grabs a sip from her wine glass as the band ushers her into her fantasy world of musical delights. And the crowd as well. The venue was very nice especially well lit and very welcoming. Very intimate and the crowd was given a little leeway to play off the performance and were allowed to shout their love periodically. The performance was amazing and besides one equipment problem (which was fixed easily) everything was just amazing. Esperanza's vocal talent and her back-up singer's vocal talent combined with the band led to one of the most inspiring nights of music I have been to in some time. Everyone should be fortunate enough to see this talent because her show (without spoiling it) is unlike any other experience of the soul you will have outside of say ex. Nancy Wilson or Eartha Kitt(during her life).

After having seen this show at NYU, I was surprised at the lack luster quality of the Town Hall event. I am a huge fan and performer as well, so I can give slack where slack is due, however I feel it's time for the show to take it to a new level or just "freshen up".

Me and my wife enjoyed the show very much. It would be a good idea if she talks a little bit.

Had a great time from start to finish. Beautiful twists on jazz and soul with a little Asian influence. Perfect listening antidote for a busy stressful day. Her CD is a must.

It was fluttery and chaotic, polluted my ears and flew around my mind like a gnat in my brain. Her voice is beautiful, but she needs to sing real songs with actual words, come down from the clouds and mature a lot before I could ever take her seriously. I don't care that I spent the money, I hope she improves.

It wasnt until the Grammy announcement of this new artist on the scene that I heard of Ms Spalding. I did my research on her, watched a couple live performances and downloaded her music, new and old. This songbird is someone I consider inspirational and incredibly talented. The fact that someone so young and true to themselves could make beautiful music was so refreshing to me. She's a shining star in my book and I will continue to follow her. Her concert was amazing. She proved that night that you don't need a100 million dollar set to showcase true talent! Lastly, when she walked back on stage to perform "Fall In", it made me feel so warm and gushy inside, lol. Music is still alive!

What incredible talent this young woman possesses! Amazing vocals, and viruoso jazz bass playing. Haven't seen a jazz performance this electrifying in years. Only complaint was that the concert started 35 minutes late. The accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists were great, too.

Esperanza is amazing! She took control of that stage from start to finish and led us all into her groove and we all floated on with her. Very refreshing to see great young musicians like her.

Honestly? Totally beyond words. Esperanza marches to her own drummer and it's refreshing to see. She certainly is not tied down by any genre. Her energy is strong and earthmoving. And I think the entire venue was spent after her performance. I need to be whereever she is the next time she performs.

I absolutely loved Esperanza's performance on May 21st. It was a great Birthday treat to myself. Her voice, versatility, performance style and improvisation was unmatched. I love her voice and it was much more astounding in person. Her understanding of the play between notes is amazing. I would definitely go again.

For one so young to have this immense talent and to stand in that talent and simply be who she is.I was astounded.Her vocal ability, her musical craftmanship or should I say craftswomanship!.The future of Jazz is secure with her taking it to another level.

On an evening when the latest prediction of apocalypse proved false, it was wonderful to be in the company of an angel. This tiny young woman who is no bigger than the upright bass she masterfully plucks made beautiful music, accompanied by a string section, pianist, drummer and backing vocalist. Esperanza is magical. Her smooth, clear, enchanting voice made the evening fly by. Her music is a sublime combination of classical chamber music and classical jazz. I would gladly see her again.

Absolutely AMAZING. Band was tight and grooving, Esperanza was beautiful and spot on!

The concert was worth EVERY PENNY! The Radio Music Society was on fire!!! Esperanza picked the best of the best for her band. She showcased her talent extremely well.

Undeniably the best show I've been to in years. Three generations of our family went and we all loved Esperanza and her amazingly talented band. Many people were up and dancing and we were all begging for more when the evening unfortunately had to come to an end. This woman is so adorable and everyone can tell how much she truly enjoys what she's doing. You don't want to miss this event!

All new music. Esperanza is amazing as an artist. She seemed to enjoy her time on stage and related to her audience. (The boom box theme was somewhat a bad distraction. It was an awkward attempt for staging and introduction in an otherwise polished production.)

The show was great! Ms. Spalding gave everything she had. The jazz band was fabulous and it was great to see and hear an extraordinary female sax player and trumpet player in the mix. Wonderful, inspiring evening.

The entire performance Esperanza gave me the chills. She and the band were amazing, and their sound flowed so well together. There was no opening act - they all stayed on stage for a solid 2 hours and just jammed the night away. I would highly recommend this show for anyone! Esperanza gave the individual band members a chance throughout the set to showcase their talents. The show wasn't just about her - it was a whole jazz experience

Captivating, mesmorizing, all-around phenomenal is all I have to say about this young lady. She is truly a force to be reckoned with. I cannot wait for her return to the area.

This was definitely a sensational concert event. Esperanza and her musical maestro's gave a memoramble performance that testifies to their genius and love of their craft. If anyone is a fan of music I would behoove them to see this performance. This is what music and live performances are all about. If she continues she'll be remembered along side the many great artist who came before her.

Esperanza is from my hometown so it was exciting to see someone with some much talent who grew up in my same environment. She's an awesome artist.

AWESOME!!!!!! from beginning to the end. My seats were great and the music was phenomenal. This performance is a must hear. Esperanza being the prodigy she is.... really knows how to work the audience and the stage. The entire chamber society rounded out a most enjoyable evening.

The Chamber Music Society is gifted and talented. Esperanza's music, voice and style is almost as beautiful, vibrant and joyful as she is.

Before we went I told my husband, who had no idea what we were about to see, that it was the most sophisticaed music we will ever experience. Esperanza did not disappoint us. In a word...Wow! Incredible. She is pure talent. Extremely fun to watch.

I was mesmerized by her music and talent the entire night. I brought my partner, who is often bored by live music performances, and he loved her too! We can't wait to see her again.

Esperanza Spalding put on an incredible show! She was non-stop and I enjoyed every second of it!! If you haven't seen her in person, I highly recommend you do so the next time she is in town!

Awesome show, Esperanza and her chamber group were fantastic. Th show could have been a little longer, but was very satisfying. The Warner sound was good, climate was cold, but always a great place for a show.

I wanted to see the performance of the woman I read about in the New Yorker. It said that she was listening to some music while writing other music. I needed to see the person who could do that. My Lord! Simply amazing.

This show was really well put together; we had constant chills the whole time! Esperanza is amazingly talented and a great live performer. She did a bunch of ad-libbing really well, so it was a unique experience for all of us. The Chamber Music Society was really wonderful with her... the pianist was off the hook!!! Everyone was really talented and played a great show. Unforgettable. Highly reccomend.

she wore her fingers out on that double bass, made me dizzy with time-signature changes in the middle of a phrase, sang her face off with vocalise that made bobby mcferrin sound simple, and never broke a sweat. oh, and she was cute as a button. great nite!

Esperanza show was simply amazing. She deserves the Grammy for best new artist, hands down. This is real music.

If you enjoy and appreciate REAL music, then this show is a MUST see! Esperanze will delight you with a poetic thought that turns into a beautiful song. If and when the opportunity presents itself -- I will see her again.

I found Ms Spaulding to be very talented and her music extraodinary and very unique. However, it might have been a bit too deep and unique for me.

It was perfect -- surprisingly dramatic and yet understated at the same time. Amazing musicianship. The venue is always the most courteous of any in this area, and it was well staged and seated. Go to see this.

This is a "must see" act. Outstanding musicianship all around. Fresh and spunky, with gorgeous tones and intriguing rhythms, you won't sleep through this chamber music concert.

I was just blown away. She's so musical, and plays with the panache, ease and presence of someone much older. Pitch was spot-on, and the ensemble was totally together all the time. Loved the entrance/exit theme (sitting in a comfy chair drinking wine, then taking the stage). I don't know whether I liked her singing or bass-playing better; both were top-notch. Brava. NOTE TO UPTOWN THEATRE MANAGERS: the 21-and-over rule is totally ridiculous; I saw a mature 20-yr-old (there w/ her parents!) get turned away. That should NOT have happened, ever.

Napa's Uptown Theatre was the perfect venue to showcase the amazing & incredible Esperanza Spalding!! The venue was small and intimate-just lovely!! And Esperanza put on a great, unhurried, performance...simply unbelievable!

Esperanza is a genius jazz talent. Her voice is as pure as it gets.

Loved the show. This is my fourth opportunity to have seen Esperanza perform. She a talent to not be missed.
