Blondie

Created by lead singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Christ Stein, the punk/new wave band Blondie became a phenomenon in the late 1970s by successfully breaking into mainstream pop culture  —thanks in part to Harry’s insouciant, sassy vocals. Millions of fans worldwide continue to embrace the band's signature vibe — an energetic, edgy sound that's still fresh and contemporary. In concert, Blondie always serves up a stylish mix of sounds ranging from pop and reggae to rap, with a dash of retro disco and electro-pop thrown in. Now in their fourth decade of performing.

THE DONNA'S OPENED THE SHOW AND STARTED THE SHOW OFF RIGHT. PAT BENATAR WAS NEXT, SHE ROCKED!! SHE COULD HAVE DONE THE REST OF THE SHOW AS FAR AS I WAS CONCERNED - AND JUDGING BY THE RESPONCE FROM THE PEOPLE AROUND ME I THINK THEY THOUGHT SO TOO. BLONDIE WAS THE HEADLINER, COOL LIGHTING AND EFFECTS, BUT NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM HER PART OF THE SHOW. PAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE MAIN ACT!!!

I looooove Blondie but Debbie Harry just wasn't rockin it like I thought she would. It was cool to hear the songs live but she changed up a lot. Pat Benatar just wailed her little heart out...she was awesome!

The Donnas and Blondie were good. Had it just been these to acts, it would have been a fun concert, but not all that memorable. Pat Benatar, on the other hand, was incredible. Her set was worth the price of admission. I only wish they had let her close the show. Listening to Blondie after Pat Benatar was a little anticlimactic.

Pat Benatar/Neil Giraldo were fantastic. The came out rocking hard and didn't let up until it was over. Great set of songs. The energy was fantastic and watching Pat/Neil together makes it even more enjoyable. My only regret is that they came out first, leaving Blondie to finish up. I have a feeling that if they had been the closing act, they would have done more songs. Still it was an amazing, fabulous, exhilarating show. Wasn't as impressed with Blondie. Nothing against them, they seemed to be really rocking, bu I really didn't recognize a lot of the songs, and honestly Blondie wasn't the draw for me. I bought the tickets to see Pat/Neil, and it was worth the price. But we left about midway through Blondie's set.

I have a renewed respect and awe for Pat Benatar. She was terrific - she looked great, she sounded great, and she interacted with the audience a lot. Debbie Harry was - well - weird. We actually started to leave before the Blondie set was over, as did a lot of people. As we were walking toward the gate, they played "The Tide is High," and suddenly she was alive and fun and the venue seemed full of energy. We stuck around for the next song, and then they started playing a cover which I thought was strange for an encore. I definitely think Pat Benatar should have played last - maybe they switch it up in different cities or something.

Pat Benetar played most of her hits and she was a very good performer. After the first few songs, her voice was warmed up and she sounded great and looked good too. Her husband was also very personable so together they made it a great show. To be honest, I felt like I had already gotten my money's worth after seeing Pat. Blondie was pretty good, but it seemed like her concert lacked good song rythym to where she would play not great songs back to back and then every fourth song would be really good. I would jump up to dance but then I always sat back down because the follow-up song wasn't good. Overall the concert was good -- but I think Blondie should have been the warm up act for Pat Benetar.

Pat Benatar is just amazing. Still as great as when I first saw her perform back in 1979. Love when they do the old songs toned down. A true sign of great song writing when it's just as engaing with out all the production. And Spider(Neil) is still the best guitarist in the business. Blondie was fun as always. Love how there's no BS inbetween songs. They just go from one to the next. Was thrilled that they did a couple cuts from Debbie's most recent solo album. A great surprise and a real treat.

Pat Benatar was super and put on great show - can't say the same for Blondie. Debra Harry has lost it. The Blondie song selection and presentation was weak. Benatar needed to have played longer and Blondie not at all. Would like to see Pat Benatar again very soon - never want to endure another Blondie concert.

pat was on first. she was good, voice still pure, but she did not perform the way i have seen her in the past. she did several acoustic songs with her husband, which were very good, but i can't say that one of rocks icons sitting on a stool was what i expected. her whole show was a little layed back and the reciting of her politics between songs I did not care for. even when she did battlefield (which was the encore) it didn't have the pat punch. blondie was also good. she actually got the people up dancing with a couple of her greatest hits, but they came late in the show. she didn't play some of the crowds favorites and what she did play was somewhat layed back as well. she did pick it up toward the end. she seemed to be getting into the music a little more. frankly, both sets were more subdued that one would expect. it was at a winery, but come on, let's rock the place. other entertainers do.

I loved seeing Blondie at Wente. It was a little disappointing to see so many of the old-fogeys getting up and leaving halfway ... guess they forgot that Blondie is a punk band. Debbie Harry sounded great and I was reminded how much fun her music is. She looks and moves great (I read somewhere today she's 61 ... no way!). The band was killer too. Pat Benetar sounded a little hoarse and her band drowned her out for the first couple of songs.

Pat Benatar and her long-time guitarist (SPYDER), who led off the show, were exciting to watch and listen to. Blondie (Debbie Harry) did'nt sound nearly like what I remember from those years ago, much deeper (husky) voice than what I recall, OR the sound system was not set up correctly. Anyway we left at 10:30, while Blondie was still playing, but admit more than a small part of that was due to getting too chilled because of the light outer clothing we brought (me a light jacket, my wife a sweater) was not doing the job with the breeze as it was.

Pat Benatar was her usual talented self and her husband Neil Giraldo can still play a mean guitar. Blondie on the other hand was a disappointment. Wandering around the stage in tennis shoes and a too-short skirt was a distraction from her music which lacked enthusiasm... Would not recommend Blondie again but would go see Pat Benatar again. Wente was, as usual, windy, but not too cold. Wente is a great venue and I would return again and again to see shows.

Great show to see both 80's sensations, Pat Benatar and Blondie. The girls still look great after performing 30 years. They have great songs. It was a great evening under the stars at Wente Winery. I went there with the expectation that I would love Pat and enjoy Blondie. I was not disappointed in either performance, but Blondie, the 2nd performer at the show, seemed to steal the night with a much more high energy, crowd pleasing performance. Both of these performers did a great job, and you will hear all of your favorites. I was worried when Blondie did Call Me second, but it got the crowd into the show. This was my longest Wente concert ever, about 2.5 - 3.0 hours. All in all a great night.

Blondie rocked the house from the beginning to the end of the show! The band did not disappoint and Blondie still has her moves that so tantalized us from way back when. I was mesmerized from the first note to the last "thank-you" and "good night" from the band. The new music is awesome but it's the oldies that kept my heart beating to a stupor! I first saw Blondie at CBGB's in 1975 at the age of 16. Last night, I brought my 16 year-old son to see the band and (possessing none of my sentimentality) the kid said it was one of the three best rock concerts he's ever seen (and he's seen plenty of big acts). They were great and powerful. Debby Harry doesn't fall down anymore to make her skirt to waft above her legs, but outside of that she's as dynamic and sultry and wonderful to hear as she ever was. The indispensable Clement Burke, quite possibly the best drummer in the history of rock, has been wisely retained. The original trio of Harry, Stein and Burke are now joined by a young kick-ass guitarist Tommy Kessler who wins the crowd's adoration on his own merits. My only disappointment was that they played NO songs from the first two albums. This was more than compensated for, however, as they did an unforgettable medley of Ramones, Television, Heartbreakers and New York Dolls songs.

Over the years I've attended many events where Deborah Harry would appear, maybe perform a song or two, and that would be that. I always felt a little disappointed that I wasn't getting the Blondie concert that I really wanted to see. Of course, when an event is billed as Deborah Harry (and others) as just adding a live score to The Creature of The Black Lagoon, well, expecting Blondie songs is totally unfair. But last night, I finally got the Blondie concert I had been waiting for! From the opening "You Keep me hangin' on the Telephone" to the final encore of "Heart of Glass" this was an amazing powerful show. Clem Burke's thundering drums gave everything a much harder edge than you'd ever imagine. Deborah Harry fully embraced being an all-out performer and took command of the stage, and was in full voice. Chris Stein was there too, along with excellent new sidemen. If you loved Blondie, this show delivered, and then some. (There were many great moments-- I enjoyed Deborah Harry getting into her Stalker character in "Call Me!" and adding lines such as "I even know your Facebook password!" was nice.)

Blondie put on a great show. Although it included a bit more new and unreleased material than I expected, the new stuff was actually quite good and kept the crowd engaged, happy, and standing for the whole show. Deborah Harry was in fine voice and seemed to be having a great time. She sounds even better than when I saw her in 1998. She was very playful and animated onstage. Clem Burke provided aggressive and precise drumming throughout. Guitarist Chris Stein completes the trio of original members and provided a solid performance . The three new members, two guitarists and a keyboard player, were quite good. One of the new guitarists in particular was outstanding and brought lots of energy to the stage and to the music. Can't wait to get the new cd when it becomes available. The whole group is sounding great.

BLONDIE is my favorite band. I've seen them eight times, and they're always terrific, the best in the world. What's that, you say? The Beatles? Uh huh. And the Rolling Stones? Yeah, sure. Talent to the moon, but. . . hey, they're all guys. They're ALL GUYS. And guys in rock bands may whine about their lack of satisfaction--Roy Orbison may cry alone--but can they sing convincingly about desire, about the hot romance which was worthwhile even as it blew up in your face? Nope! So how could they be the world's best band, without a kick-ass female vocalist somewhere in the mix? Sorry guys, but when it comes to passion, Blondie rules.

Blondie still has it! They rocked out on their monster hits like Call me, Rapture, Tide is high, Maria, Heart of glass & more. I did not know any of the new stuff, and I don't think very many people in the crowd did because of the non-reaction to it. (Crowd sitting) When the show first started, I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I felt like Blondie was just barreling through the songs. They were not connecting with the audience. Blondie needs to work on interaction! The show seemed to pick up towards the end. Debbie Harry sounded great, but at times you could not understand what she was saying! The acoustics were not so good. The venue could have been better. That wig needed to go. It was an absolute mess. Looked like a pet more than hair. A helmet. Anywho I am not reviewing the fashion. She looked great though!! (Just not the wig lol!) I don't understand why they were not allowing pictures. ( I still got one in!) Myself and friends spent a nice amount of money to be there, and to not be able to take a picture is ridiculous. (Not to mention I have seen some of the biggest acts in music and could do so!!)

What a difference a year makes. I saw Blondie last year with Pat Benatar and The Donnnas; that night Debbie Harry seemed very subdued, and I thought they put on a disappointing set. This year was completely different. Blondie was co-headlining with The B-52s, and opened the show last night. From the get go, Debbie Harry was vibrant, playful, and singing up a storm. They played 5 of their 15 songs from an upcoming album, and they were great, the crowd accepted them wholeheartedly. We were on our feet the entire set nobody sat down for either band it was a complete party atmosphere. The crowd was wild for Blondie, that s for sure. Maria is probably my favorite song of theirs, glad they always play it live; Call Me , Hanging on the Telephone , and One Way or Another were also excellent. Rapture was my beer break song. Oh yeah, the B-52s played an excellent, fun set, but after Blondie, it was hard to top, and they couldn t.

I went on-line the day the tickets went on sale and got 4 front row seats. My husband and I took our 14 year old daughter and her friend- they are both into 70's and 80's music and also enjoy alt-rock. We got several compliments from other concert goers for bringing the next generation to the show. I only saw Deborah Harry reach down twice to shake a fan's hand- and one of them was my daughter's! The show rocked. I was glad there was no opening act- it's okay if they are a known band, but I hate having to sit through some banal tripe while you are waiting for the main act. The show did start 30 minutes late, but it was still awesome.

What a Show, and Her Voice Is Still Great. The band members also played very well, and playing some new songs also. They Opened With A Marching Band, And Closed With A Marching Band.

The Honda Center was great and clean compared to Staples Center and a much friendlier staff. The Concert itself was great reliving old memories with the bands that filled the airwaves during the 80's. Would love another one like it next year.

On September 5th Blondie (Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke etc) started their No Principals tour at The Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH and took us on a journey back in time. We were singing along to: Hanging on the telephone, Heart of Glass, Dreaming, Atomic, Call Me,The Tide is High and many more. People of all ages can be seen in this eclectic crowd. Debbie continues to deliver with her great vocals. Chris as always continues to deliver that unique sound that is Blondie and Clem plays the drums with the same energy he did 40 years ago. Blondie knows about theatrics. Their new songs have the same great feel as the songs that have stood the test of time. The band took the stage again for an extended encore but all good things must come to an end. The show is a great combination of sound, performance and great memories. Still they did not play my all time favorite\u2026

I had never heard X before, but a friend who was with me used to play on the same bill with them back in the day and assured me that they were a seminal LA punk band with a great sound. Well, she did not exaggerate! I have already hit Itunes to download their music. Blondie also rocked the house, and Deborah Harry's voice is still clear and strong, and her genuine happiness to be there and affection for the crowd was great to see. The crowd ranged from age 13 to people in their 70's, and although there was a small disturbance with a few people who had too much to drink, the general vibe was great.

What a pleasant surprise! Devo sounded like a group in their 20's - tight, energetic and incredibly clear. The art direction was modern, the choreography was good and the costume changes made the show fun to watch. Blondie looked and sounded great! She had good energy and some younger band players brought a sense of youth to the show. I had a great time and highly recommend this show.

I was very impressed with the Priority Parking option, it was well worth the money to be able to get in, parked and exit quickly. Once inside there were plenty of food choices but felt the prices were way too high. The ushers were very professional and our seats were great! DEVO performed such a high-energy show complete with videos and some blasts from the past along with some of their new material. BLONDIE showed us that they can keep their original style while updating their set-lists regularly. They performed all their classic songs, most from the albums - Parallel Lines and Eat To The Beat.. A GREAT show overall!!!

Finally, after all these years of listening to the band's singles on the radio and collecting the CDs (practically, the whole of their career) I catch a concert. Enjoyed it immensely! Only wish it was at the beginning of the tour not the end; otherwise, I'd have become a groupie to make up for lost time.

Mountain Winery was perfect host for this Party with Girls Dance-a-thon! We rocked the night under the stars with the English Beat... then another golden hour-and-a-half with Blondie! Her back up band was full of energy and very talented. Loved Deborah Harry's comfy shoes and three outfits. Hadn't heard her new CD as of the concert, picked it up on the way out, and rocked all the next day. Hope to make this an annual event... girlfriends & concert & fabulous night out!

The venue is great. That band was tight and Debbie's vocal abilities are still top notch. They played the hits and even threw in a couple of covers that got the crowd going. Great vibe, lots of energy and good fun. A couple of cons: The sound quality was a bit off at times. Too much mid and high end made the mix a bit muddy and drowned out the vocals on several songs. Also, I thought the set list a bit short. That said - ticket prices were very reasonable and our overall enjoyment of the show outweighed any negatives. p.s. The opening act, Nico Vega was phenomenal! They alone were worth the price of admission!

Before Wednesday 9-28-11, BLONDIE, (featuring original members Chris, Clem & Debbie) had not played a live show in NOLA since 1979~! Last year I went to see them in Atlanta & got back stage (with 3 fresh copies of the Tmies Picayune!) and pleaded with the band to PLAY NOLA! They all said they loved the city and vacation here & were shocked it had been THAT long since playing our fair city..Chris assured me this would change....Blondie rocked the house with beloved hits and 6 new gems from their magnificent new offering, "Panic of girls" at the Mahalia Jackson. Deborah Harry, ageless, still charismatic and 'cool as ice cream' whipped the crowd into a fenzy...Well worth the wait, EXCELLENT show. Their new band members have gelled well with the trio and they sound better now than ever before! All this and a tribute/cover song for Johnny Thunders (who died in the French Quarter).."I fit right in here.." said Debbie..Still #1!

Not even 30 days old, the revamped Fillmore in Downtown Silver Spring was a perfect venue to see one of my childhood favorites, Blondie. The venue still has that "new car smell" and the staff was pretty helpful and friendly! Debbie Harry has traded in the Stilettos : ) for comfy wedge sandals, but who can blame the woman? She's been doing this for nearly 40 years. No need to die young...she still looks pretty! And can still hold a tune. Chris Stien and Clem Burke were healthy and capable as well. What energy they may have lacked was easily made up for in the room. The time went by too fast and I hope to see Debbie and the gang again soon!

All in all a great show and a very polished production. Song selection was excellent and a mix of old standards/hits and new gems. Debbie's voice still holds up and the performances of the band - particularly the drummer and new "lead" guitarist were very polished. Additionally the opening of Lizzy Trulee was a very welcome surprise, very much in the vein of post-rock, pre-punk NYC CBGB styled music. All in all WOW!! - only regret is that "Hanging on the Telephone" wasnt played, but "Fight for your right to Party" was a pleasant surprise.

Blondie has always been one of my favorites, but I had never had the chance to see them anywhere. What an awesome venue to experience them! The Stir Cove is an intimate, fun, outside venue, and we had the best weather of the summer. Debbie Harry is still looking great, and the music was fantastic. Blondie has such a driving, fun beat - you can't help but have a blast at one of their concerts. It's also amazing to think about the impact Blondie as a band has had on music and the industry. Pretty cool.

I've been a die hard Blondie fan since back in the day. I've been extremely fortunate to see Blondie live on numerous occasions in a variety of venues. Every Blondie concert is like a religious experience for me (and I'm not religious)! The band was great last year at Treasure Island. The drawback was that Blondie was sharing the bill with Cheap Trick. So Blondie's set was a little shorter than usual. And turning a convention hall into a rock venue does not make for a great experience. HOWEVER, Mystic Lake Showroom was pretty much perfect in every way. Debbie looked and sounded amazing, with even more energy than I've seen in recent times. The band is tight as can be, as they just finished an extensive European tour. Lead guitarist, Tommy Kessler, is beyond incredible. Clem Burke: best rock drummer ever. I love that Blondie performed ample new material from their fantastic new album "Panic of Girls." And they always perform the classics with a new twist. Blondie are one of the few legends still performing who actually continue to be creative, exciting, fresh, and relevant. A nostalgia act they ain't!!

Blondie after a long nationwide tour wrapped up that tour at the Fox Theater in Riverside the other night. They continue to sound great and were in a very attractive venue at the Fox Theater in Riverside. The only downside is the apparent insistance of the die hard fans in the first couple of rows to stand thru the entire performance which makes it largely an audio experience for those in the audience who remain seated. I can understand that in a general admission venue this is natural but in a reserved seating venue like the Fox it's annoying.

Nick Lowe warmed us up for Blondie who came on stage with great energy. They started with One Way or Another and ended with The Tide is High. Debbie's rap on Rapture was the best part of the show. Debbie sounded best on her newest songs and did just fine on everything else. If you get the chance, check them out.

First time ever attending a Tilles Center concert and first off getting to the center and finding parking was a breeze! All staff outside and insider were courteous, friendly and helpful! Local band Common Ground warmed up the early arrivals with a very tight, professionally delivered set of 80s classics! Seating anywhere in the center is good, will enjoy attending many more events there in the coming months! Nick Lowe delivered a substantial representation of his extensive body of work, and Blondie blew me away as much now as back in 1977 when I first heard them live! Excellent venue, staff and events. Tilles Center truly rocks on!!

Blondie ROCKED! They did a few songs off their new album, but mostly the "oldies, but goodies". They sounded amazing! Even my 16-year-old daughter enjoyed it! We had a great time! Very enjoyable! First time at The Tilles Center. Very nice venue. Small, quaint. Any seat is a good seat!

What a fabulous performance ! Debbie Harry can still belt out all of her hits. Still has an amazing voice. Mixed all of her famous hits in with her newest songs, which are also real good. Great stage presence and she seemed to have a real good time on stage even though this show comes at the end of a grueling tour. The audience was up and dancing throughout the show. On top of all that..........still sexy after all these years !!!!

To start off, I may be a little biased as I am a huge Blondie fan and have been for years. This was my very first time seeing them live and it was an amazing experience! The theater itself is a wonderful venue with great acoustics and great staff. Blondie was amazing! They performed all of their classics, but their new stuff was really one of the best parts(If you have not heard Pollinator, do yourself a favor and give it a listen)! Debbie looked amazing and was clearly enjoying herself being in the atmosphere. Clem Burke(their drummer) was one of the best I have seen! Overall, seeing them live should be on anyone's bucket list. Just alone hearing their classics, you are bound to recognize a couple songs even if you are not a die hard fan.Seeing them live, you get a first-hand view of how they have been making great music for over 40 years! I would love to see them again next time they are nearby!
