Strange Design

Amazing tribute band. There were moments that I thought I was at a Phish concert!

Strange Design was amazing! They are talented, energetic and put on a great show.

Although they got off to a bit of a lackluster start with The Sloth and Peaches en Regalia, both not very danceable, Strange Design brought good grooving funk with a Tube > Sand > Tube and a rocking Gumbo. The beginning of Stash was off, but they recovered quickly into a strong cover. First set 7/10. The second set, the entire Rift album, was stellar. From Rift to Silent in the Morning, they shone, especially in the fiery Maze, a menacing My Friend My Friend, and a very thoughtful FEFY. 9/10.

The band was not very good. The coat check was expensive & there were hardly any people there. However the ticket was reasonable priced so I am not angry. I guess you get what you pay for.

I have seen Phish +60 times and I was very hesitant about seeing this cover band but I was pleasantly surprised by everyone's skill set. Strange Design exceeded my expectations on almost every level. The only downfall was the venue itself. It was freezing the entire time since they had the air conditioning going when it was 32 degrees outside. My girlfriend had to wear gloves the entire show! Also, their rule of only ordering one drink at a time became very annoying since we had a large group and you couldn't get drinks for anyone else. I understand not wanting underage people drinking but when you do wrist bands at the door then why have the second level of security!
