Belle Brigade

Belle Brigade

THE BELLE BRIGADE IN CONCERT:Brother-sister duo the Belle Brigade are making their presence known among fans of sun-soaked pop goodness with their soaring harmonies and intricate folk-rock. The band feeds off each other's guitar strums on "Sweet Louise" and rocks on piano-heavy track "I Didn't Mean It", and their live performances boast the same energy and charisma as their carefully crafted recordings. The multi-instrumentalists have fans coming out in droves to their enrapturing shows and they'll continue to share their perfect blend of country and folk as they head out on tour with Ray LaMontagne. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Siblings Barbara and Ethan Gruska were born with music in their blood -- their father composes film and television music while their grandfather is legendary composer John Williams -- and the duo are carrying on their family's legacy with their band the Belle Brigade.

Great band, great energy. We were in the front row, and aside from the girls singing loudly along next to us (it's a small venue and not really that kind of show) it was a perfect night. Great opening act, too!

The Belle Brigade @ Mercury Lounge was by far one of the best live performances I've ever experienced! The energy was awesome, and the set list flowed very nicely. Ethan, Barbara, and the rest of the band had the crowd going from the beginning and left you wanting more at the end. Barbara is a natural at putting up a show. One word, AMAZING! PS: I wish they would play in the city area again soon!!!

This is possibly one of the best shows I've ever seen. Everyone in the band was such an incredible musician. The vocals were incredible and super in tune (especially considering that just about everything was sung in harmony!)! Their songs are already amazing, but live they just KILLED it. So much energy without sacrificing the integrity of the music. Seriously, incredible. (Also Mike G's booty-shaking tambourine dance was a wonder to behold).

Both of these Cali-based bands are freakin amazing! Seriously th music coming out of Cali right now is so stellar. I bought my tickets to see Belle Brigade - saw them open for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals a few months back, bought their album when it dropped, and have been hooked since. I tend to not research opening bands if I dont know them because I like the feeling of discovering new, awesome music live. Needless to say after reading my opening line, Nightmare & the Cat are great. Django and his brother are both like British rock royalty (sons of Dave Stewart); Django has such a phenomenal presence on stage - so free and uber sexy. Plus I always like a band with lady members (N&TC boasts two), one of which went to high school with Ethan - one half of the brother/sister duo leading The Belle Brigade. Ethan and Barbara also come from a musical family; they're the grandchildren of freakin John 'I composed some of the most identifiable scores ever' Williams. Anyway - TBB is so GOOD live. They play with such energy and passion - its infectious! My friends and I were right up in the front dancing, singing, sweating, jumping - couldnt help ourselves it was just so damn fun. and hot.
