RINGO DEATHSTARR IN CONCERT: Ringo Deathstarr serves up a classic sampler platter of the best elements of shoegaze, combining effects-drenched guitars, male/female harmonies, and hypnotically propulsive rhythms. At their live shows frontman Elliott Frazier perfectly embodies the group's aesthetic as his placid vocals act like a beacon in the fog of his distorted, seasick guitar playing. Bassist Alex Gehring provides a whimsical female foil, softening the extreme elements of the band’s sound with her lullaby harmonies while she simultaneously drives home the band’s pummeling bass lines. Completing the sound is drummer Daniel Coburn, whose furiously fast stick work and explosive fills propel the bands songs ever-forward.
