BJ Thomas

The show was great and he is still in excellent voice. He surprised everyone at the end with some upbeat R&B! He also shared some interesting and humorous stories and was very personable. Not bad for 74 years young! Would go again.

Went specifically to see Gary Puckett who touched my heart as a "young girl' when I was a tween. He's gorgeous and his voice is still amazing. Really connected with the audience with stories and videos. Such an eloquent speaker too. Sold CD's after the show and I got his autograph and my picture with him. He's so hot! BJ Thomas was just as excellent and may have been the headliner. Knew some of his songs, especially "Raindrops." Was very impressed with him. Loved that this was a double header show. Saw 2 great acts and loved every moment. Can't wait to see Gary again.

Overall concert was great. Gary Puckett performed well and looked good. BJ Thomas' singing was outstanding for being 72. The venue was exceptional. Great seats and a large screen on each side of the stage.

Gary Puckett good performer & great with the fans. BJ still has the voice but was dispointed he will not do autographs, pictures, ect. after the show.

we were excited to see artist we grew up and delighted that they played all their greatest music. very entertaining, we have already recommended them to our friends should they return. the IP was a great venue for this and we plan to attend many more shows there

Gary Puckett was really good. Still has his voice and his show is well thought out to appeal to everyone. BJ Thomas never fails to do great things. The BEST in the business. His voice always is amazing and everytime we see him it is a great time.

Having grown up with all the songs of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap and B.J. Thomas, I thought this was a wonderful birthday present for my brothers and sister-in law.. We throughly enjoyed both performers and sang along with all the songs. It was very good.

Both artist gave an inspiring performance covering all of their greatest hits.

Good to hear the oldies again. Brings back good times and bad tmes in our youth.Both guys sang well considering their age. Puckett is a better showman than Thomas. BJ has never had rhythm, but is a good singer. Enjoyed it!

I was hoping to hear "Everybody's out of town" and "Long Ago Tomorrow", but... he sang All of my other favorites. I could have stayed another hour just to hear him sing. I closed my eyes and it was 1970 all over again. I've been to a lot of concerts and his was one of the best.

Great Show! Enjoyed it very much. Would recommend this show. Did not like the barstool seats. They were uncomfortable.

I have seen BJ Thomas in concert at least 10 times and he continues to amaze me that even after all these years, his voice is so good. Gary Puckett was OK, but I would have preferred to hear BJ Thomas for the entire time. I wondered why he kept looking at his watch, was there a time limit for him to perform? Other than that, it was great!!!!

I have wanted to see B.J. Thomas for decades and always seemed to be out of town or otherwise obligated when he was in Buffalo. I tried to get tickets the week before the show and was told that it was sold out, but to check back on show day. I got (2) of the couple dozen tickets that came available. Unbelievable. We fought a blizzard to get there, but B.J. Thomas and his band were the real deal. Can't believe this guy is in his late 60's. I have seen the best live acts going, including Leon Russell, Eric Burdon, Johnny Rivers, Springsteen and Southside Johnny (dozens of times). B.J. Thomas is in their circle of Greatness. Thought it would be some Oldies, Gospel and Country. I had no idea, till I read his bio that he had such a connection to R&B and Soul. He opened for James Brown and Jackie Wilson and recorded with Stevie Wonder. He absolutely loves the Stacks,Memphis and Motown stuff. He did an UNBELIEVABLE version of Temptations "Just My Imagination." So awesome. I had forgotten that he did "Mighty Clouds of Joy," and his "Rock and Roll Lullabye" brought tears to my wife and me. I spoke with the band after the show and they were great. Told em I had seen Jimmy Webb a few weeks before and they said they backed the 5th Dimension last year, who did so many Jimmy Webb songs. Several of his band members have been with him for 25-35 years. Then, to find out BJ left snow in Dallas, 12 hours of delays and layovers in Chicago, and flying to Buffalo at 3:30 am. He made the show, gave it 100%, and worked the crowd, with his wonderful anecdotes, as few entertainers can. He briefly touched on some issues back in the 70's that about took him out of the game, but did not wear it like some badge of honor, only to say that he was profoundly greatful to his wife of 42 years and to be able to do what he has done for 50 years. His story of working with Burt Bacharach is now perhaps my favorite Rock and Roll anecdote. Impeccable version of "Hooked on a Feeling" with that gifted guitarist/ electric sitar player. Great show! I bought these tickets for my parents for Christmas. They are gigantic BJ Thomas fans and have been for decades. They called immediately following the show to tell me how incredible he was. My dad was clapping and singing along and if you knew my dad, this is completely out of character for him. BJ Thomas is almost 70 years old and still delivering. Incredible!

Still sounded great even after all these years! Concert was quite a trip down memory lane - 1st saw BJ in 1973 @ "Uncle Sam's" on Walden Ave in Cheektowaga, NY. His interaction with the crowd & the info he gave about some of the songs was very interesting. He seemed to really get into the mood more & more as the night went on. Seats were great - front & center - couldn't have asked for better. Plus his band was terrific & they must all get along well as some of them had been with BJ for a very long time. Don't miss him if you get a chance & enjoyed his music growing up.

This was supposed to be both Billie Joe Royal and B.J. Thomas, sadly Mr. Royal was ill and had to cancel, The Wright Kids opened the show. A very talented group of youngsters I intend to keep an eye on during their musical growth. After a short break, B.J. took the stage and just did what he does best, singing just about every hit he ever had and sounding and looking as good as ever. His top notch band keeping it rolling and lively. A fun Friday night for sure. Wish you had been there Billie Joe!

With a very tight 4 man backup Mr. Thomas comes through with a very pleasing show. Signs of maybe a little under the weather showed in B J's voice late in the show, but for the most part he was right on with his vocals. Taking with his fans between songs and telling little storys about some of his recordings were some nice touches that added to a very enjoyable trip down memory lane. B J left a very good impression and feeling with the smaller then deserved Super Bowl crowed it is very good to see one of the non British stars of the 60's still holding his own.....

The performance was excellent, I enjoyed his music. The theatre atmosphere was very good but the sound system was very old and didnot sound too good. There were some words that were hard to understand, too much echoing.

I really enjoyed BJ Thomas's concert at theCaliforniaTheatre of the Performing Arts. BJ did an outstanding performance. I loved all of his songs. He still has what it takes to be a great performer. His voice is great. My husband really enjoys when BJ sings country western and would like to hear more of these songs in the future. Please bring him back to perform again as the audience really enjoyed him--but not on a super-bowl day; it's not fair to BJ. Additionally, he has a great band!

Those people who did not make the time to go see BJ, Dick and Zona really missed a show. I enjoyed it completely and really put a spin on the holidays! Thanks guys!

I really enjoyed the show. I took my Grandmother to see the guys perform because that was music from her era. She had a blast. So many songs she hadn't heard in years. She said that seeing the guys perform, brought back so many memories. Her & her daughter (my mother) listened to and appreciated their music quite often in the earlier years. Seeing my grandmother's reaction was heartwarming. :)

This is the second time I have attended their show at this venue. Had second row seats and it was so wonderful. Gary Puckett was so gracious as he came out twice to greet fans, take photos and sign autographs. BJ Thomas on the other hand never came out that I am aware of and seemed upset on stage that people were walking around. Over all however great show.

B.J. is still going strong! His voice is still amazing and his range is incredible.

The man is not 25 but his voice and talent are and well worth the ticket price. Would go see him again. There are no bad seats in a room this size.

What a great voice still! That doesn't always happen. He played most of the crowd favorites. Engaged the audience with a sing-a-long and spoke some in-between songs of his career. He spoke lovingly of his long-standing red-headed wife. Personally, it was emotionally fulfilling as I grew up listening to his music and I still knew all the words. It was a great show in the gorgeous historic Pantages Theatre.The only thing that I would have liked would have been autographs after the show, but I know that doesn't happen often. I would recommend this show highly.

Both performers are still at the top of their game. Vocals by both were amazing and it sure was great to hear their hits! Brought back good memories. Their stage performance was professional, friendly and humble. It was a super night.

Theater setting is very comfortable and high tech for acoustics. BJ still a classic performer.

I thought Gary Puckett has lost his voice and was somewhat disappointed but BJ Thomas was GREAT, I would certainly like to see him again but with someone equal to his singing.

This was our third time for seeing the two of these talented artist at the Golden Nugget They never disappoint. We have seen BJTHOMAS many other times and each time he is amazing. I cannot wait to see him again.

The show opened with Gary Puckett. We were sitting on the far right side of the stage 5th back at the extreme end. We could not hear the vocals, the sound system was terrible. This was something that should have been taken care of. At the break I went up to the sound guy and explained to him my dissatisfaction. He advise that the speakers were not proper for this theatre. He said he would see what he could do for BJ. As soon as BJ Thomas came on there was a striking difference with the vocals, so much better. Not sure what was done but I believe BJ has a better band and equipment. Obviously, enjoy BJ Thomas much more than Gary Puckett. Both nice guys!!

Both artists were wonderful. My family and I enjoyed the show very much. I felt like a teenager again. I love both artists and everyone of their songs. In summary: the show was "fantastic". Thank you.

Gary Puckett and BJ Thomas were awesome. They looked great and they sounded great. They both performed all their hit songs. I am so happy we got to see their show. If they are ever in the area again I would definitely go again to see them. They are two of my all time favs. We even met Gary Puckett and I took a picture with him. Fantastic. I highly recommend it.

We went saw Gary Puckett and BJ Thomas at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City this past Saturday night and it was a good show. It was good to hear all the old songs from Gary Puckett but he has lost a bit in his voice. BJ Thomas was amazing! I have gone to hundreds of concerts over the years and his voice was so clear and crisp. I would highly recommend seeing BJ Thomas in concert.

It's nice to know after all these years, these gentlemen performed as though they were still in their 20's. Crowd was responsive as well. We had a wonderful evening!

I would go see both of them again. They may by old time rockers however, they still have great voices. May their music never stop.

The concert was soooo good. I love it when the performer comes out and starts singing. BJ Thomas and Gary Puckett's voices are still awesome. I would definitely go again and recommend it to all fans. Please tell the sound guy to crank up the voices and tone the bass down a little bit...........

Both Gary Puckett & the Union Gap and B.J. Thomas were sounding fantastic! The bands were great and succeeded to keep the audience engaged throughout the whole show. Definitely have been recommending this show to others...it's not one to be missed!

First, the good: BJ Thomas and Gary Puckett were fantastic. Both still have powerful voices and belted out all of their hits. Gary Puckett gave a very heartfelt tribute to our military veterans that was amazing. He also interacted with the crowd more than BJ, but again, both were fantastic. Now the not so good: The Golden Nugget Grand Ballroom is not so great of a venue. The chairs are placed out before the show and the seating is tight. The sound was an issue for the singers as well as the crowd, both BJ and Gary were talking with the sound folks (Engineers? Probably not after this show) and kept getting feedback squeals all night. Lastly they were definitely on a time limit. Gary came out for 45 minutes and rushed off the stage. Everyone thought that was an intermission and got up to grab a drink or take a restroom break, less than 10 minutes later BJ started his show with no introduction and everyone tried to rush back in all at once. It really felt like both singers rushed through their sets; as BJ got to the end of his he kept checking his watch and after the last song he pointed at his watch and told the crowd Sorry, they ve got me limited. Overall it could have been better if it wasn t so rushed; they left everyone in the room wanting more. Definitely not the performers fault. I would go back and see them both again, but not at the Golden Nugget.

So fun to listen to all the music my parents listened to while I was growing up. They sounded just like their records, amazing in a world of lip singers!!! Would highly recommend for fans of both of these guys.

The show was very entertaining, Both entertainers were great. I especially enjoyed Gary Puckett's show, especially his tributes to the veterans and his rendition of Elvis. Bj Thomas has a great voice, he did a song especially for his wife of 48 years. Very emotional.

Great Concert enjoyed these two men. Both from an era where music was actual music, there will NEVER be music like the 70"s.

Both of these put on a cool show. They, like me have a few years behind us. It was a treat down memory lane. All their songs were recorded in my teenage years and I really enjoyed hearing them again. BJ still has that wonderful voice....Gary seemed to struggle a little on the high notes, but it really did not matter. We all were enjoying the music.

The show was everything I expected it to be plus more. Buddy Puckett played first and he and his band sang songs that brought back memories from the past. His voice was as strong as it ever was. Want to thank Buddy for recognizing the Veterans. So proud of him. My friend had tears in his eyes because he appreciated it so much. BJ Thomas was as good looking now as he was ten years ago.He sung all of the songs I liked. He was very accommodating to the audience. Even though he had finished he continued to take request from the audience for about ten or fifteen more minutes. Thanks for a wonder night of entertainment.☺

Back in 1983, I saw BJ at the local state fair in Pensacola, FL, and have always wanted to see him again as I have been a fan of his for most of my life. I was in my early 20s in 1983 and I only went to the fair that night for his show. Flash forward to 2016; I'm so thankful he continues to make the time to tour for his life-long and more than likely newer fans, too. It's memories that I will always cherish and I finally fulfilled the wish that I got to see him again! Love his music and quick wit, too! Gary Puckett and band were great, too, and came out after the show to meet with the fans.

It was a Great time, of Songs of the Past and Present.

This was a really terrific concert. BJ was congenial, entertaining and most of all he loved being on stage and we loved being in his audience. His voice is still true, he's as handsome as ever, he has a terrific sense of humor... I can't think of anything that wasn't 100% great. It's a small showroom and he really made each of us feel as though we were his personal guests. What a great evening. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

BJ puts on the most wonderful performance. No one I'd rather see. Saw him when I was 16 and he is better now when I'm 64.

BJ Thomas puts on a great show with music and personal anecdotes. He interacts with the audience and makes everyone feel happy to be at his show. His band is exceptional and recreates the hits as they were recorded.

Not only is his voice strong, but he has wonderful stage presence and obviously really enjoys interacting with his audience. I enjoyed every minute of this performance.

We drove 10-hours from our home to see this performance and it was well worth the drive. BJ is an excellent performer, he is friendly towards the crowd, neatly dressed, sang many many songs, some I remember from the 60s and other I did not, but they were songs for the times. He was just a very very class act!! We both enjoyed it tremendously and would certainly go see him preform again any time. Well worth the cost and the drive.

Was my first concert and i had the time of my life. I love BJ, if the Lord permits me i will be going to Atlantic City to see him. Hope i get front roll again. You can't get enough of BJ. It would be nice to take a picture with him.

BJ wasn't feeling good and looked visibly ill with a sinus infection but did not cancel the show which shows his integrity. He did his best to explain with humor and it did not detract from his performance. His voice is amazing-he is 73 years old and has not lost anything in terms of quality/clarity. BJ didn't need acoustics-he was able to sing with just a microphone and at one point, without the band-just his voice. An amazing performer who gave an amazing show-would definitely see him again-actually have seen him several times before years ago and nothing has changed.

The class act of BJ Thomas was very special....great seats, great band and a super evening of memories.....Brewer and Shipley also did a great show as the opening act...we need more of these shows in Anchorage

He put on a very good show. I knew every song he sang. Very good!!

BJ proved he still has IT! His voice was spot on in every song and he had the audience in the palm of his hand from the first note to the last. He did two encores. God bless him.

What an amazing showman. He performed for almost 2 hours. Liked his diversity with his songs, pop, gospel and country. You could tell he really enjoys performing. Would see him again and again!!!!

This singer displayed range that he had in 1968! My wife and I really appreciated his adherence to the original beats and melodies. He really, really ROCKED the song Hooked On A Feeling. Many rockers of our generation show normal wear and tear in their physical presence but he is very well preserved and my wife says he is "really good looking". He seemed to feed off the crowd's enthusiasm and ended up playing for 1 hour and fourty five minutes. We would see him again in a heartbeat.

BJ Thomas was very good. He started out a little slow communicating with the audience, but warmed up quickly. He seems to be a shy man but he can still sing. Gary Puckett came on first and his voice was good but his band was much too loud and drowned him out. All in all it was a wonderful show. Going back to the 60's was good for the soul.

Excellent show! Gary Puckett was rocking it for a 72 year old man and was very interactive with the audience, BJ Thomas still has an amazing voice, but the ending of the show was the same song over and over and it was annoying so we just walked out before the end of the show.

The acoustics in the Golden Nugget ballroom was terrible. When BJ or Gary Puckett spoke you could hardly hear them. The sound was terrible. The ballroom should be used as a ballroom and not for musical entertainment. We thought BJ did an excellent job even though it appeared he was not feeling well. I would go see BJ again but I will not go to any musicals at the Golden Nugget again. If I wanted music to sound like a worn out 8 track I would spend less money and try to find one.

All the music the packed house could take. Did not see and empty seat. B J Thomas has not lost anything, base notes, low notes, and hi-fi tones, the ones that we use to hear the in days when music was real. No auto tuner required here.

My husband and I enjoyed the BJ Thomas/Gary Puckett concert. The acoustics leave a little to be desired. We could barely understand Gary Puckett's vocals. We could hear BJ Thomas better. We love knowing that there will be great entertainment close to home.
