We so loved this concert. Jay Siegel from the Tokens talked to the audience in addition to giving us so much wonderful music and Jimmy Clanton came out in the audience and sang to my friend. Charlie Thomas's Drifters were in top form also and once again he and the other groups talked to the audience which just doesn't happen in the larger venues in Pittsburgh. Just a fantastic experience!

I compare this Doo Wop to the one in Pittsburgh in December 2010. there isn't a comparison. These performers were and still are the best that Motown and Doo Wop could have offered.

A sold-out crowd of 2400 was not disappointed at the performers gracing the stage of the resurrected historic Capitol Theatre in the recent March 26 Rock & Roll & Doo Wop event. The ageless rockers put on a lively and enjoyable show that brought back many happy days to those in attendance, many of whom clapped and sang enthusaistically throughout the 3-hour-long show. The bill featured a great selection of groups and individuals.

Excellent show. Great groups from the Marcels, Coasters, Freddy BoomBoom Cannon. Martha and the Vandellas to Lou Christie. The theatre has been renovated and is beautiful and a great place to host a show. Keep up the good work.

It was so nice to once again have an oldies show in our Capitol Theater! It had been many years since 2 different oldies shows appeared there. I travel to Pittsburgh often to see this type of show and attend WQED tapings but I had never seen Freddie Cannon and it has been many years since I had seen Martha and the Vandellas. All of the groups were good, a lot of fun and had audience participation. Great 3 hour show for such a reasonable price!

This was THE most enjoyable evening! I was a little girl when the songs were playing on the radio, but I remembered nearly every one! The Capitol Theatre is such a gem of a venue; I used to go see movies there all the time when I was young. It was great being invited upstairs to see the old ballroom; my mom danced there when she was young, and she passed away 2 years ago at the age of 90! Kudos & love to those who are responsible for the purchase and renovation of this treasure. Thank you!!

Really enjoyed the show....brought back a lot of memories! My husband & I sang along with a lot of the songs. Hope you have many more....we'll come to everyone of them! We'll never sit in those seats again! We still enjoyed the show, but froze!

We had a very enjoyable time.The theater looked great. I loved that you served Yellow Tail wine. Being so close to the stage we really felt the excitement of the preformers. All the preformers did a great job. Of course we knew most of the songs so we could sing along which is always fun.

Three generations of family attended this event and it was enjoyed tremendously by all! there was a great energy at the event. The new concessions were awesome and not so overcrowded. Keep it up!!

Every act was really class acts!! The Marcels have always been one of my favorites---and they did not disappoint!!! The Thymes still can mover like they have done all through their careers!! Excellent!!!!!! The Impressions were soo mellow!! Johnny Tillotson was smooth as if it were his first time doing a beautiful appearance and delivering every note!! And would you believe it-----I CANNOT REMEMBER THE 5TH ACT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The time machine played perfectly. My wife and I enjoyed the perfomances. The singers were very good and the sound was good. My only suggestions are: with the Symphony in Wheeling, surely you could get a few strings in the mix and, backup singers would make the vocal sounds more "full".

The first half of the show was better than the second acts. They performed and sounded amazing. The "house" band was great. The show flowed nicely with each act doing their best songs. The only problem was the lack of air flow in the building and it was quite stuffy.

The Happenings, Original Tymes, The Marcels, Johnny Tillotson and the Impressions put on a very enjoybable evening down memory lane. Appreciate these artists keeping our music alive. They may be older but their voices are still great. Very entertaining high energy show. Wheeling's Capitol Theater does a wonderful job bringing these shows to our area.

The music was wonderful, some of the singers voices were not as good as they use to be, but what is.... The theater was great except the seats were a little close for us older people, but when the music started we no longer noticed. Johnny Tillotson was the best of the whole show, not only was his voice still great he still had that 60's give it all you got. he was also so nice and talked to everyone that wanted his autograph. He is really one of the best of all time. I saw Chuck Berry once and this concert made him look like an amature. Great concert and everything to do with it was wonderful.

Very entertaining five acts. Bill Haley's Comets, The Orlons, The Dovells, Eddie Holman & The Contours. Performers were good and presented a high energy show for the packed house at the Capitol Theater. Mark Stevens & Jerry Grose of the Dovells looked the same and sounded the same as they did 25 years ago when we saw them. Eddie Holman is a great entertainer and put his all into his performance. The audience enjoyed the high tempo show of the Contours and their great dance moves to their songs. The Orlons and Bill Haley's Comets brought back great memories also as they brought back the songs of our day.

The Reflections, The Chiffons, Gary 'U.S' Bonds, Peaches & Herb, Jay & the Americans Just not enough big hits from any of these to give them a lot to do for their segment. Many did medleys of songs from the Doo-Wop era that you wouldn't even associate with them. Much respect for what they can still do, many years later, but nobody really made us say "WOW!". Nice to see some recognizable local talent providing the instrumentation for this show. They all did a wonderful job with probably minimal time to work together.

The Show on Saturday at the beautiful Capitol Theatre was wonderful, all of the entertainment was great; but, GARY US BONDS was the Best I have ever seen and I have been to tons of concerts. I frequently go to the Benedum in Pittsburgh for the Roots of Rock and Roll in the beginning of the year. The show was really good. Peaches and Herb were also very good. But, I loved GARY US BONDS!
