Shams Ensemble

I think the organization was great except one point that when the concert starts the people are allowed to come in even after one hour , This was distracting.I think you can let people to come in for 30 minutes and not more. Also the professional photographers should not be allowed to take photos near to audience because in many cases they were blocking the scenes.

It was great! I liked every moment of their performances!

I was disapointed! The group did not appear on stage as it was advrtised. Half of the major instruments players were missing. Regarless the reason (as they try to explaine), I paid for those artists to proform,but they didn't. The box office was selling tickects until the last minutes, without telling the purchasers the problem. No e-mail from the Ticketmaster to tickets holders that the group will proform without the major players and giving them the choice of going to the Concert or refund their money. I beleive the audiance were fulled by Persian Arts Society & KIRN670. They owe the audiance an apology, at least.

The Royce hall was beautiful, finding parking lot was hassle and after all we were not able to find the right parking lot and had to park on campus street spots , consider another $15 for campus parking and wear comfortable shoes because you have to walk about 10 minutes. Before buying the ticket I watched some of YouTube clips of Shams ensemble, I I was very excited to see them. It was nothing close to their previous ensembles and apparently three of the main members of the group were not able to get visa and they had to replace with some other people who were totally lost and confused ( female ). Beginning of each song was starting with Ghazal which was very long and boring, but the rest was amazing. I wish I knew what to expect before going!!

The arrangement was poor, and half the band could not attend at the stage due to Visa problem. I expect much more.
