Almost once in a lifetime opportunity to hear the entire great album, Kind of Blue mastefully replayed. There should be more concerts of this nature--it would once again expand the audience for jazz. It was the jazz equivilent of of hearing the Rolling Stones play many of their old hits!

Orbert Davis did a masterful job of blending the sounds from symphonic orchestra and his own trumpet into a beautiful Miles standard. The harmonies were breath taking I did not want them to end. The trumpet solos were clear and precise. And the string solos for one of the movements was a great surprise. I hope records his version of this classic piece so that I can add it to my jazz collection.

First half was outstanding, this is the Miles I know and love. Second half was good, but too much Spanish influence for me

I attended the Tribute to Miles. At the end of a long work day, it was relaxing, nostolgic, and well received by his listening audience. If you don't know who Orbert Davis is you better ask somebody. I have read of him, heard him as a child in our home so much that I know the words to his music. I somehow know the notes to his sounds. At a later age, I was re-introduced to his sound, history and music by another jazz fan. Since then, I have purchased most of his work. I appreciate his contributions to the City of Chicago as well as other places I have seen and remember him. It was amazing!!!
