Strangelove

The show was completely entertaining and full of energy!!!! If you didn't know you were watching a tribute band you would swear to watching the real deal! You can't beat the low price and and experience of singing along with everyone in the crowd to Depeche Mode's greatest hits.

If you like Depeche Mode even a little bit you need to get your butt over to see Strangelove. They are the best Depeche Mode tribute band ever. Freddie and the boys have it down to a science. They are smokin hot and so coool. Some might even say better than the real thing ;)

Seeing Strangelove is just about as good as seeing Depeche Mode!

These guys are amazing, they play better than the original band, I Can tell it because I"ve been in the last concert of Depeche Mode at Hollywood Bowl, August 17 Th 2009 and they didn't play some hits like Strangelove did in Costa Mesa. thank you guys.congratulations!!!!!!

These guys put on a great show. Their "Dave Gahan" and "Martin Gore" are very convincing. We had a great time. I'd see them again for sure. If they could get rid of some dead time between songs, it would be perfect.

This band was a lot of fun. I've seen Depeche Mode, and they really tried to capture their essence... and had a lot of fun doing it. Looks, sound, lights, dance moves, graphics... They were having a good time, and it was contagious. Thanks for a great night!!

This is a Depeche Mode tribute band and they are great. We have seen them twice already and just got tickets to see them again this summer. They sound just like the real band and put on an incredible show. A must see for any Depeche Mode fan.

These guys do an amazing job of creating the complex sounds of Depeche Mode, while on a much smaller budget. They look and sound the part very well - especially "Devotional Dave" who seems to have mastered the dancing style and strut of the original. And maybe it was an off night for him, because he is the most trained singer, but "Counterfeit Martin" wasn't sounding so wonderful. But his look and guitar playing were spot on. They excel with the high energy songs and suffer a bit with the slower stuff. It's amazing how deep into the catalog they went. There are some songs that DM won't play, but these guys will.

One of the best shows I've been to, tribute or otherwise, in years. The Smites were good. I'm not a huge Smiths fan so it's hard for me to judge all their songs but I will say the lead singer did a spot-on Morrissey. It took them a couple songs to get the sound dialed in right (there were some sound check issues before the show) but once they did they were solid and they did a great job warming up the crowd. But people were there for DM and they got what they wanted. The show started with smoke, lasers, and Dave Gahan rising up from the floor and people went bananas! I mean like shrieking, yelling, dancing in the aisles, sing-along-to-every word crazy. And it didn't let up for two and a half hours! They looked the part, acted the part, and sang the part perfectly. I can't wait for these guys to come back to SA!

Strangelove was a great Depeche Mode cover band & the venue sound & staff were on point.

Such an amazing night! Strangelove puts on an EXCELLENT show! They have clearly studied DM and know exactly how to mimic a show. Can't wait to see them again!

These guys are awesome! They look and act the parts. Plus "Dave" sounds spot on. "Martin" is great as well, and tackled "Somebody" with ease and nailed it! I would definitely see these guys again. FWIW: I spent 8 shows on tour with DM on the '93 SOFAD and '94 USA tours. Many B4 and AS backstages, foosball games with Martin, hotel rooms (Martin's arrest in Denver), and drinks shared with the band, and band spouses and kids. So, "Strangelove" definitely pulled it off as close to the real-deal as you will find.

This band is always fun to go see! They have studied Depech Mode's moves. Very well done.

Never a disappointment with Strangelove. Also, I was very impressed by the other 2 bands for Duran Duran and Joy Division/New Order. It was definitely a great night!

Am a huge Depeche mode fan so I was hugely impressed with Strangelove's performance!!!They played ALL my favorite songs with incredible likeness and energy!!!! Duran Duran tribute was good and brought back many 80s memories. New Order tribite was fantastic! ! Sound, energy and performance was incredible. Sang along to every song. Thanks performers and musicians for a truly once in a lifetime performance!!!

all 3 bands did a superb job in representing ! The lead singer for Strangelove was spot on with his moves, hand gestures, etc when on stage, I was totally impressed !

Temptation ( New Order band was great). Planet Earth (Duran band) was OK. I was disappointed in the singer's voice , it was nothing like Simon's. However, Strange love nailed it. Every sound, every note, and every movement. I've seen DM live and these guys are EXACTLY like them. Wished they played Blasphemous Rumors and Somebody though. Also, they played MAster and Servant after they said goodbye. We had to run back from our car to see it.

I cannot stand the Smiths Lead singer, his mike was way too hot and I could barely hear anything else. I love his lead guitarist. They were cut off in the middle of starting a new song but It was fine with me. Duran Duran is good but had technical difficulties that kept me on my feet longer than I wanted to be but I was tired already from my work day. Their keyboard singer's mike was hotter than the lead singers mike, I love the lead singers voice and could barely hear it. U2 was really good but his mike was so hot I had to go sit down away from the amps. Strange Love played songs I did not care for this time. OMT DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I watched the guy manning the barbque run both bare hands through his hair then pick up a wad of chicken and throw it on the barbque!!!! I complained to the food manager but the guy was still working and never dismissed to wash his hands!

These guys were really really good. They played my request. Took pictures after the show. The singer has studied all of Dave Gahan's moves. He had that twirl down pat. I would go see them again.

Loved all the bands and venue was great! Service was great at bar.

We had never been to South Side Ballroom. We were amazed at the size of the venue. What we didn't expect was that the taps weren't working at the bar (we got there early and had to sit in the bar/restaurant area prior to the concert) and it costs $12 for two bottle beers. We also didn't expect it to be so hot inside. We stood close to the front of the stage and it was ridiculously hot...even when getting out of the crowd, it was still not cool at all. The concert itself was amazing. Billy Idol did a great job, Duran Duran had some technical issues but they made it work, The Cured did a much better job than when we saw them last time and Strangelove, of course, was amazing! Honestly, they are as good as watching the real Depeche Mode. We follow them on Facebook so that we make sure we don't miss them when they come to Dallas. One group of people ruined it for all of us at the front around the end of the show by barreling into the crowd, loud and rude and pushing people around but we were able to maintain our cool and finish the concert without problems. Also, there were a lot of issues with sound. Again, we were in the front and in the middle (second row, basically)..the sound was not very good.

The cover bands were all very good except Strangelove has been my favorite ever since I saw them at Jack's Throwback several years ago. The vocals sound so close to Depeche Mode, you could close your eyes and swear you are hearing the real thing. It seemed as if a speaker blew towards the very end of the night because the sound quality on the last couple of songs was awful. But that is nothing against the band, just poor sound in the venue.

The Billy Idol, Cure and Depeche Mode covers were fantastic! The Duran Duran one was the worst band I've ever heard- they didn't even know the music.

I saw the actual Depeche Mode in fall 2013, not that long ago, and in many ways this was equal to that show. Plus they played many more hits. lol.

Great show at the O C Fair, definitely will be there next year.

Strangelove is perfect in pretty much every aspect of Depeche Mode! The only complaint was about the sound system at the Hangar. Audio was cranked up so loud that the voice was distorting.

I enjoy seeing Stangelove. They play my favorite Depeche Mode songs and are full of energy. Although they didn't play some of my favorite songs they played the last time I saw them its not their fault. DM has so many great songs they would have to do like a 4 hour concert. I recommend watching them and having a fun evening.

Strangelove puts on the most amazing show. You have to see Depeche Mode live to fully appreciate how well Freddy Morales imitates Dave Gahan and how well Brent Myer imitates Martin Gore. It's like being at a D'Mode concert but you get to be a lot more up close and personal. I have seen Strangelove about a dozen times and they just keep amazing me. If you are a D'mode fan you have to treat yourself to one of their shows. You will want to keep seeing them every opportunity that you can!

The concert was great, but as usual there were two main problems: parking and the people who have no idea how to behave in public. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've seen them at the fair. First: the parking. Every time I come to this fair, I'm forced to park really far away from where I want to be, despite the very many open spaces close to where I want to be. Why have all those parking attendants if it's only to force you to park so far away and to keep you from the empty spaces close to the gate? It's really ridiculous and I resent it even more as I leave the fair and have to walk a great distance to my car. Second, rude people. If you must bring children to a concert they should not be standing on the chairs when that makes them a full foot or two taller than the average adult and everyone behind is squirming around trying to see around the kids towering over the crowd. Ridiculous. Strangelove was great as usual, but it's getting harder to get myself to go to this venue to see them.

Strangelove put on a great show and did a great job recreating the Depeche Mode experience.

ive seen the real Depeche Mode 5 or 6 times and they were awesome back in the day. Unfortunately like most bands, as they age they lose the fire and the product they put out suffers as well. Basically, they have lost the spark that made them what they were. Have no fear, Strangelove will amaze you. If you are a Mode fan, you owe it to yourself to see these guys. It's like watching Depeche Mode back when they were awesome.

I would see Strangelove again & again. This was my first time seeing them. Very energetic band with great details on lighting and sound..

I've seen SL 3 three times at the Hanger and once at the Roxy. Their sound is usually perfect but something was clearly wrong with their sound levels this past show. I was in row J (center right) and the bass was badly distorted. Fake Martin's levels on his keyboards and guitars too low. His duet with Andy was distorting so bad I had to exit the building and watch the rest of the concert from outside. Towards the end of the show they sounded much better and the crowd hung in there with them. I'm definitely gonna see them again - these guys are amazing.

My wife and I went with a group of six people to see Strangelove and we all walked away wanting more! These guys nailed it. Played all the hits and some fantastic surprises (But Not Tonight, my wife's fav song). It is amazing that this tribute band has been able to replicate both of the leads in Depeche Mode, David Gahan and Martin Gore. Vocals are spot on. Cant wait to see Strangelove again

They started off by performing every track from the Violator album, including the 'B' side 'Sea of Sin', and while it was great, you can tell that it was more for the true Depeche fans that they were after. Once they completed all the songs, that's when the fury was released and all of DM's hits were coming back to back. They did an outstanding job and you could tell they truly are DM fans themselves. Every details was covered, and the lead singer is a dead ringer of Dave Gahan. It's a little freaky to see how he's nailed Dave Gahan voice, look and peformance. If you get a chance to see them, I highly recommend it.

Strangelove - The Ultimate Tribute to Depeche Mode Oh!!! Yes guys, I was really surprised when I heard these guys playing and performing. The sound was great very close to the DM. These guys easily get you into the feeling; yeah the DM feeling. Knowing is a tribute band when you see them, you appreciate the efforts they made for everybody to enjoy the show. My recommendation is very simple, you have to see them no way that you leave disappointed to see this show; their performance is great.

Strangelove sounded great. House of Blues was packed. Great show and great place. Go Vegan

I have never attended a cover band concert before so I was skeptical. The tickets were affordable so took a chance!! OMG! I'm glad I did!! They were AMAZING!! I'm a fan for life!!!

The energy onstage was amazing as always - Strangelove does not disappoint! The music, singing and overall excitement kept me and many others dancing, singing and enjoying ourselves immensely! I always look forward to Strangelove shows and they continue getting better and better! I highly recommend this band and have "talked them up" to many of my friends and co-workers!

This is the fourth time I see them and they are always amazing. If you are a DM fan, you must see them. Even if you're not, you will love the show because it will be a trip down memory lane as they play many of the band's most well known songs. Highly entertaining! House of Blues was great but I thought the sound was a notch too loud (especially during the opening acts).

House Of Blues is one of my favorite places to watch a concert. The acoustics and stadium seating really enhance the experience

All three bands were faultless in their musicianship and gave it a full-on effort to please the fans. We were there to see them give tribute to their heroes of the 80s and beyond, trying to sound and look (as much as possible) like them. While no one was truly fooled, the effort was definitely awesome and well worth the effort and expense. A great evening of music and dancing in place! I was personally most impressed by the drummers and guitarists in the opening bands, especially the Siouxsies with their flawless sounds. But all the bands were top -notch. Would love see them in Houston again!

Great show across the board. Venue was perfect. The bands amazing.

I bought these tickets for my husbands birthday. We saw Tribute bands to David Bowie, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Morrissey and The Smiths. The evening was so much fun! The next morning my husband and I had a hard time deciding which performing band we liked best. We talked about it for hours and have been playing their music for the past few days. The theater was beautiful and the prices on the drinks keeped us from having too much. $17. a drink Oh My!!

The performers were very talented. The production of the show needs some money put into it as the performers were entertaining but the lighting and sound left a lot to be desired. The venue was very pretty, a nice theatre. Love that there is a cool bar next to the theatre so you can have a drink before the show.

This was my 4th Strangelove show and each one is fantastic -- they never fail to bring full DM greatness!! The other tribute bands were good and kept the audience dancing in the aisles.

Had a great time, place was gorgeous, the Saban Theater is a historical theater, sound was great and the bands who performed were amazing!!! Can't wait to do it again!!!!

Sounded and looked very authentic. Great tribute band at way cheaper price than the real act which can easily pull $75 per seat at top of arena. If grew up in 80s, you will really enjoy this band. Played all the hits and had the audience dancing and bumping all night. Good setlist. Slightly more adult crowd so mellow and good spirited.

Huge Depeche fan and this was my second Strange Love concert. Great great show!! Just missed the laser lights from the last show. Bowie and Duran Duran tributes were also great!! All incredibly talented musicians and performers!!!

Can't believe I wasted money on that! There was one good vocalist who was a guitarist and sang one full song.

There is so much recorded music and percussion being played that it felt like karaoke. The singer's voice was spot on and it sounded great, just was missing a "performance" factor for me. The Siouxies, however, were quite the opposite. All female band playing all the music on actual instruments. Singer's voice was also spot on as was the music. Would see them again.

Before I get to Strangelove I have to talk about The Siouxies. A four piece, all girl BAND, who all sort of take on the Siouxie Sioux persona. They actually play instruments and are really good at it. There are no keyboards but the way they arrange the music eliminates the need for keys. In a nutshell, they put an edgier, distorted spin on Siouxie and the Banshee's music. I highly recommend seeing them. Strangelove, on the other hand . . . Don't waste your time. There's a Dave Gahan impersonator who does a quasi decent vocal replication but thrusts his hips too much and goes through several "wardrobe changes" during the show. The Martin Gore character is a bit on the rotund side but that's ok. His vocal impression is also not bad. He's in charge of ALL of the music. He fools with his laptop more than he touches his keyboard. The Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke characters are pretty much there for visual effect. The fake playing of their keyboards is painfully obvious. All of that being said, the overall performance is entertaining if you don't mind pre-recorded music done by so-so impersonators. Sorry guys.

Strangelove put on an awesome show. Their tribute to Depeche Mode was spot on. The song choices were great - I can't imagine the catalog they have prepared. It was so much fun and so authentic sounding that I easily got lost in the moment and was reliving my DM live shows from '88, '93 and '98. My only regret was that I didn't go to see Strangelove on their last visit to New Orleans.

I have seen cover bands before that were so so but as a big fan of depeche mode I was shocked . They sound just like them I was amaze in how they tired to be close to the real deal . Super fun and It was awesome that the singer added a Spanish verse of personal Jesus I thought that was pretty rad . I wouldn't mind seeing them again !!! Great job guys keep up the good work !!! Recommend to go see them play if your a DM fan like I am :)

I was always skeptical about tribute bands, but this band is awesome!!! They are fans and have studied the bands' moves and innuendos. They got the crowd wound up and excited. People were dancing and reminiscing. Most of us have tickets to Depeche Mode in September and this is a way to get super motivated and excited. Their motto is "we play the songs that Depeche doesn't" and that is so true. They play "old skool" Depeche that only true fans will know and remember. Phenomenal performance!!!!!!!

Solid tribute band of Depeche Mode. Brought back alot of great memories of songs from our younger days. Front man is a good mimic of Gahan on stage. Keep Rocking the tunes- will definately see Strangelove Again !!!

This is the second time I've seen Strangelove live and these guys put on a fantastic show. They sound terrific and have great energy. Looking forward to seeing them again!

This was my fourth time seeing Strangelove in southern California, and I absolutely love this band! I've seen Depeche Mode live several times since 1986, and the Strangelove members have the band's sound and Dave's moves down cold. The great thing about the tribute bands is that they're fans too. Next time they're playing near you, definitely check them out. Also, the members are really nice and gracious to people who come to the show. Always willing to say hello and thank you.

I've seen Strangelove several times and each show gets better and better. It was the perfect warm up for when they play here in September.

These guys were much better than I expected. Their sound was true to Depeche Mode and the crowd responded. They have the musicality and mannerisms of the real band. Had a great time at their concert and they are definitely worth seeing.

From the Lighting to the Sound you felt like you were at a DM Concert! This tribute band is AMAZING....the whole group sitting behind me couldn't believe how a band can sound so much like DM. Their performance enticed the audience and kept them wanting MORE!!! The lead singer Devotional Dave is an Amazing Singer and dance moves that were unbelievable. Counterfeit Martin is so talented from keyboards,guitar, and melodica. He also does a GREAT Job on vocals. Alan Wildest also on a Emulator II and percussion did an AWESOME Job during their performance of, " I Feel You." In the Fletch also on keyboards did an incredible performance during, "Blue Dress." Everyone rushed to the front of the stage during their encore to dance and interact with the band. They also took the time to take pictures with the DEVOTEES. If you know they're in town take the Time to See STRANGELOVE! It is the Ultimate Depeche Mode Experience!!!

This band was epic the absolute best!!!! This band resembles depeche mode to down to the core. Im so proud of my friend devotional dave and how much hes accomplished. Im proud of u hun.. I look forward to your future shows..

Better than last year. Highlight of the OC Fair. Sounds like dave and even looks like him from a distance. I would reccomend sitting farther for a more real experience.

The band was great, the crowd was pumped. All they need is a live drummer. I will definitely go see them again.

With a stadium full of die hard Depeche Mode fans, you really have to shine. Strange Love did just that with an amazing set of fan favorites and some unexpected cuts for the real enthusist. They are all amazing performers. "Devotional Dave" Freddie Morales, has the vocal and mannerisms of Dave Gahan down pat and "Counterfeit Martin" easily channeled Mr Gore's persona and expressive vocal stylings. The keyboardists were fronted by the real synthy deal too with shiny kick-ass Emulator IIs, and even one very special E II+! Being a synthist myself, I fixate on such things. Strange Love deliver the Depechey goods. It was a great performance that the audience will not soon forget.

We took a chance and decided to see what all the great reviews were about. We were amazed! The show was great and they played a good mix of old DM to current. For those that have seen the videos and been to concerts you can appreciate how much effort they have put forth.

These guys really compliment Depeche Mode. They have to be the most authentic Depeche Mode tribute I have ever seen. Close your eyes and you really feel like you are at a Depeche Mode concert. Open them and you still do as their attire and look is amazingly accurate. Glad the bands merged to make "The Ultimate Tribute to Depeche Mode"

If you Love Depeche Mode you will LOVE this Tribute Band!!! Even the people seated in Front of us thought they were British!!! The SOLO performances were AMAZING!!!

This was my fifth time watching Strangelove. Every time there in the area I make sure I buy a ticket to where they're at. Too close to the real thing and such a great show. These guys are very talented. Until we meet again...
