SBTRKT

Whenever I go to T5, I feel at home. I have been trying to SBTRKT for 3 years now. I finally go to see him and I was more impressed than I thought I was originally going to be. HIs music really touches you. You can almost feel what he feels through his music. He is a real DJ/Producer up there with REAL instruments. He's not just pressing play. This was one of the best shows of the year for me and I've to a lot.

This concert was definitely worth it! I love SBTRKT and live he is even more amazing. Seeing him bounce back and forth doing all of the music by hand was a good show on its own. Sampha's voice was amazing! Kilo Kish and Syd also had awesome sets. It was cool to see Earl and Taco supporting Syd and her set was soooooo on point! I had the best time. The only con was the show was suppose to start at 8 but it didnt start until about 9:05. Most concerts are like this but I became restless because I had had a LONG day. We got there and was able to stand in the pit area.

I've been to T5 only once before for anthoer great artist. Came here for the 1st time to witness SBTRKT I had a great time their performance was astonishing. Will go see them again. There was however, system problems but they made up for it going past their scheduled time.

the show sucked. i love the album. but what they did to those beautiful songs was almost unbearable. i mean those live drums? WHY? what for? most of the time he didn't even go with the beat. i know as a musician you want to create a live experience for the crowd. but what they did to the songs was just unnecessary and disappointing. i love sbtrkt and sampha and the music they produce. i guess that's why i expected a lot more. on top of that: the sound was horrible. just horrible. was there even a sound technician anywhere close to the the stage? didn't sound like it. soundwise, i felt like i was watching a highschool band. not worth the money.

This was a solid show, but I only wish it had been a little longer.

This was an amazing show. Great crowd, great venue and SBTRKT didn't disappoint and kept the booty bumpin beats going.

I absolutely loved the concert and the venue. the sound was immpeccable and the light show was very entertaining. Cubic zirconia while SBTRKT graced the stage with wonderful and amazing songbird named Sampha! LOVED!!!

Great show, tons of energy... Turned into a full dance party at points.. Totally awesome show.

The show was not as good as expected. Borderline boring

SBTRKT was one of the best shows i've seen this year. He brought his album to life with so much energy. The entire crowd was dancing like crazy. I will be sure to catch all future NYC shows!

Great event, great ppl, atmosphere was amazing, great party event, very close to the artists, loved it. One advice to SBTRKT from my point of view though: dont get lost in ur electronic toys, I dot need an echo wherever thinkable, and loud screaming noises...why was I at ur concert? the Chanel show...I didnt know u by then, the deep atmosphere u created was an unforgettable moment to me, Samphas voice--WOW. bring out this voice and darkness, deepness, sensitivity I felt there, dont scare that with bum tschick WOWOWOW bam bam everywhere...

Unbelievable set from AraabMuzik AND SBTRKT and Bowery Ballroom was, as usual, an amazing host to amazing talent.

Great set, but really really short. Show got out at least half an hour before 11. Unfair to people who have been waiting for this concert a long time.

I arrived at 9:50pm to see the encore performance. Who starts their show that early? It's absurd. My group were not the only ones, the people next to us arrived at the same time. Furthurmore, i love SBTRKT's music, but why wouldn't he sing? the voice is the focus of the song and he used prerecorded vocals. Very disappointing. I should have chosen a better show for my birthday. Also goldlink was a terrible decision for an opener. I really dislike his music. It's very different from SBTRKT.

The venue was first rate, better than most. I really enjoyed the trio. The bar was a minimum wait set-up with helpful and polite bartenders. I'll be back soon!

SBTRKT and the Fox are always incredible, but something was very, very off with the performance. I think there may have been an issue with some of the equipment, but it was not nearly as clean or precise as I've come to expect from SBTRKT, or as lively as I've come to expect from the Fox. Very much a shame.

The music was absolutely incredible but the show was done before 10:30pm. When you pay for a $50 ticket, you don't want the show to be done that early!

So, I had high hopes for this concert. They group is always on a play list of mine, and I thoroughly enjoy their music.... however their performance live... is dismal at best. The only reason why i stuck around till the half way point was to actually take a look at the venue. The venue is amazing, this was my first time at The Fox Theater, and I love it! Back to the show: The Group did nothing, they put on an Ipod and acted (terribly) enthusiastic and made it seem that they were poorly playing music. Maybe the drummer was actually doing something....maybe. I highly reccomend their music, but highly discourage anyone to going to their shows unless they want to watch 3 people dance around (poorly) and play music on an Ipod. 0/10 for the band 10/10 for the venue.

These guys absolutely killed it! They put on an amazing live set with SBTRKT playing the drums (among other instruments), Sampha providing top notch vocals, and both of them ensuring the electronic elements were flawless. One of my favorite things about this performance was their ability to slightly tweak each song so that it sounded fresh and distinct from the original version. I would definitely see them again!

The sound system was broken for SBTRKT (the main artist) so it was a bad experience. We waited for an hour for them to go on. Most people left.

Great show; high energy!!!! Openers were cool, but for a Sunday I feel like they should've started earlier (7 perhaps) and had less time in between acts. Didn't get out of Club Nokia until 12:30. Way too late for a school night (yes I am old and was probably one of the oldest there, lol.) SBTRKT came on too late (at 11pm) and they only played an hour and fifteen minutes.

This was a great concert on behalf of SBTRKT. The opening act didn't really fit with SBTRKT. I forgot her name, but she didn't really entertain the crowd, or got the crowd pumped up, which an opening act is supposed to do. The second act Syd tha Kid, not a fan of her music, but her DJ skills amazing! Anyone who can mix Ludacris "What's Your Fantasy" to a Little Dragon song, has me a DJ fan of there's FOR LIFE! Finally when it was time for SBTRKT it was an amazing experience. Not a lot of shoving, pushing from the audience, a really decent crowd.

I love SBTRKT. The talent is undeniable. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the performance, had I been able to keep my eyes open. Tickets said 8pm. Sure you never expect the headlining act to go on right at the start time. I always expect 1-2 hours of an opening act or two, BUT 3 HOURS?!?!? SBTRKT did not hit the stage until 11pm (on a Sunday). Not cool. I left at midnight after fighting sleep. Definitely do not feel like I got money's worth on this one. :(

These guys put on a clinic! Great energy all the way through, awesome live renditions of their beautiful debut album, had the whole crowd dancing like crazy! By far, one of the most entertaining shows I've been too in a very long while. I won't miss these guys for the life of me whenever they come back to play.

SBTRKT is really talented. I was amazed how much he runs around his set up making all the beats and sounds in real time. I think he needs a new singer, or at least not tour with him. His voice wasn't as great as the studio album, but I would rather watch SBTRKT perform live. The show started late, so we left before the encore.

I was excited to see sbtrkt live for the first time.... however if anyone else is reviewing this event, they probably have mentioned that sbtrkt took a long time to come out and start & when the band did finally start, the music cut out 15 seconds into it. About 15 minutes passed by and still nothing. Then they started again... 10 seconds and then the music cut out again... at this point its about 11:20 and I have work in the morning. It was a huge waste of my time and money. No interest in spending another coin to see them.

he's an amazing performer! It was very fun, even though he was late, the show was amazing!

Great show, perfect venue! They experienced some technical difficulties in the beginning but they played extra at the end and it was amazing. Such a great crowd and the prices for drinks were very reasonable. Can't wait for another concert at Terminal 5! Sbtrkt was unreal!

Show started off with a few glitches but was AWESOME over all !!!!

Sbtrkt just didn't bring his A game to this show.....I ve seen them 3x's and this was by far his worst performance...granted he did have some computer problems but that was only a small wrinkle in their show. What was the biggest misstep was their timing with the sound and the singing. Sampha was off cue too. I guess when it rains it pours. These guys just couldn't recover after the computer malefaction.

Every single act at this show absolutely killed it. The beats were heavy enough to sink into and get into a really dirty groove but still fun and pop-y. Typically concert crowds are 65% wallflowers; those people who stand and stare up at the stage the entire time maybe nodding their head a little. Not so here! Everyone and their mother danced up a storm. The music was phenomenal, the crowd was fantastic, and I had the time of my life.

SBTRKT was wonderful. The concert was worth every penny.

Even though there were extreme delays from technical difficulties, SBRTRKT & Sampha were amazing. The crowd was dancing, singing & jumping from pure joy. The only thing that could have made it better was Jessie Ware and Yukimi coming out for their songs too. Amazing!

Great live performance, SBTRKT played the drums while mixing, and Sampha did mixing while singing for a while, too! They are some talented musicians.

So I went to the SBTRKT concert in Atlanta and I feel like it was not worthwhile. SBTRKT performance was only an hour long. I was really disappointed about that because I would rather just stay home ave listen to his music if it's for that long. Another thing was the timing of everything. My boyfriend and I arrived a hour late and when we finally made it, we were able to hear the last two sons of the opening act.I actually liked their performance better. Believe me, I wasn't upset about missing their performance. I was upset about the hour long intermission till SBTRKT performed. I think that was very rude and I feel like they were just trying to kill time so that the whole show would "last" to 12. My boyfriend and I actually stepped outside from the concert just to get some air, and then that's when we noticed that people were leaving because the show was over. I was kind of mad because I wanted to hear more of course. So overall, I just feel like it wasn't worth it.

I love SBTRKT! This show was truly unforgetable. He performed with Sampha and invited Raury as well. It was almost spiritual.

Other the overwhelming heat inside the masquerade during the summer, the show was perfect

They were fan-friggin-tastic! It was such an experience. That's the best word for it: not performance but experience. They were great and life-changing. Also, the venue, the Masquerade, was awesome. Very chill and has a nice vintage appearance that enhances the type of music played there. Over 5 STARS!

SBTRKT was an amazing show. has so many instruments and its not just replaying songs from his albums he puts different sounds and spins on them. lights and backdrop are dope too. had an awesome time, and this dude is a talented artist/performer

Sbtrkt lacked personability as he hardly addressed the crowd. He wasn't even facing the audience, but rather facing the side has he DJed, which I guess is fair enough considering all the equipment he had to control. The biggest thing missing were the vocalists. I was hoping that Jessie Ware or Sampha would show up, as they're a big part of Sbtrkt's music. Or even if Goldlink, who had rapped an awesome set to open for Sbtrkt, filled in for some of those songs, imperfect as it would have been, it still would have been something to watch. Instead it felt like we were watching someone quietly do sound control while the singers were notably absent. Great mix of songs from all Sbtrkt's previous albums, though, and the lights and sound production were solid, for what that's worth.

I was lucky enough to be in the front row and SBTRKT actually gave me a high five. The staff were friendly and professional. Overall, a great time.

I was extremely dissapointed with this show, considering how fan I am of Aaron Jerome aka SBTRKT. I just don't understand how this artist can tour without his singer Sampha who is featured on 75% of his songs. It felt like listening to a giant iPod. Not to mention the length of the show for the money I spent.

like sbtrkt doesntplay all the songs and sound quality aint was the best.

I enjoyed the little part of which I saw of sbtrkt but it was annoying that they came on so late on a Monday night. It would have been better if the opening acts had anything to do with the genre of music. The first guy was tolerable but I felt like I was paying for something I did not wish to see. The bit that I saw of sbtrkt was good though.

I'm so disappointed by this show. It was like listening to spotify. No interaction, no energy. Just bad.

SBTRKT really went all out in their concert. One of the best concerts i have ever been to and i have been throught alot. Will g0 watch again if possible!

What an excellent show to top off an excellent weekend! This was my first time at Terminal 5 - loved the venue and definitely plan on attending more shows there. I got there around 8:30pm, right as Nick Hook was early in his set. His set really got everyone grooving as an energetic start to a memorable night. Granted, I was not really expecting/wanting to wait so long for SBTRKT to come on, but there was never a dull moment leading up to the time they finally took the stage. This was also my first time seeing SBTRKT - I was NOT disappointed! They have an incredible stage presence, eye catching visuals and lights as well as just a constant burst of energy on stage. They sounded even better live and never missed a beat. I am still dreaming about that show...

Incredible setup, perfect mixing, sick tunes. They had about 3 or 4 live singers which was great, but I'd love to hear him singing like I saw on the Abbey Road live recordings. Great set though. Could not stop dancing.

I saw SBTRKT and Sampha a few years back and I couldn't believe what an amazing match they were. His voice entranced the audience in a way that SBTRKT alone clearly cannot do. I suggest he dig up some talented vocalists for his next tours. They dot have to be the ones on the album, but someone has to light that stage up.

Ticket said show started at 8, they didnt hit the stage until 10:45 on a Sunday night!.. Second,NO SAMPHA.

Two supporting acts? 10.45pm start? Strobe lights were also excessive.

I have enjoyed SBTRKT's music for a few year now and was very excited to see he was playing in my area. He's been one of my favorite DJs in the genre. However, I was very disappointed by the show. There didnt seem to be much "live" activities going on, and rather they just seemed to "push play." I expected the live performance to be different than the produced songs... I brought three friends with me who weren't as familiar with SBTRKT and they were not impressed due to the lack of live DJing :( The venue was great and I was impressed with the surrounding area! I will definitely go back to the venue again!

I've seen SBTRKT live twice before this show; I am definitely a fan! But comparing shows, this one was a bit of a let down. I didn't think there was good continuity & flow between songs, which didn't allow for lots of dancing.

I got my wallet stolen and my boyfriend got his phone stolen. We still have not heard back from the fox theater lost and found. Other than that the show was fun and the venue was nice.

SBTRKT has been one of my favorite dj's for many years. I love his music, but this show was a huge let down. The ticket was $45, he went on at 9:15 and finished at 10:45. The venue was full with people packed in like sardines...no room to dance at all. It was just a huge disappointment! Bummer!!!

The headliner finshed the show at 10:38p on a Friday!! What more is there to say?! People were in line to get in when SBTRAKT completed. Total waste of time, money, & effort. I heard to crappy songs for $100. Big bad on the Fox to allow a head liner to end that early. Poor management on their end. Refund!

Great show. Enjoyed way more than I thought I would. Really fun.

Played some of the hits from the first record as well some from Wonder Where We Land. In general though the grooves seemed a bit repetitive and boring. There were a couple major disconnections between dj and band members. They were going with a DJ/keys + Live Band (drums, keys, aux instruments) configuration. All vocals were pre recorded. It sounded like the basic strategy was to let a vocal track play fairly unaltered and then essentially have the band play along with it. This ended up sounding inconsistent at best. The band would sound fairly tight when they were playing lines straight off the record, but things generally sounded pretty disconnected when they tried to develop ideas over the vocals, with some notable breakdowns as I mentioned above. The end result was something that sounded more like a jam I would try and put together with friends than a finished product and had me wondering if this was a configuration that might be new for SBTRKT, trying to bridge the gap between DJ set and live band.
