Awesome show. What an amazing time. ANTHRAX deserved a higher slot than the opening one they were given, but still they did a bang up job. Unfortunately Yankee Stadium was a pretty terrible host to this kind of show. What was the deal with no bottle caps on water?? And with no water fountains (!!!) the price of water was jacked to a whopping $5.50 per bottle. BOO to them!

Greatest concert of my life. Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica absolutely killed it up there. I will never forget this day when I finally got to see 4 of my favorite bands, including my all time favorite Metallica, with it living up to the hype and thensome.

Just an amazing time, The Big 4, good food, and 50,000 people all enjoying real metal. Only con of this trip was trying to find my car after the show! If they do more shows across the US I'll be at all of them.

I'm a Metallica freak so I'm biased, but this show was fantastic! Getting from the freeway to the parking lot took forever- but otherwise the event was well organized. sound was amazing all over the field, and due to strategic barriers, even though it it seemed like the entire population of California was there, I never felt pressed in or crushed by the croud. The start and stop times for each band were posted, and th show ran right on schedule. It was an amazing experience! Kudos to the event staff for making everything run so smoothly

All the bands were really good and the energy at the show was great. Slayer came on right at sundown and the crowd went nuts right away. Metallica has the best performance in terms of showmanship but Slayer got the crowd going like nobody else.

Epic show!!! Except for Kirk Hammett, he was not on. Otherwise, Megadeth and Slayer killed it, as always, and Anthrax was awesome. I especially liked when Anthrax gave a shout out to Ronny Dio and Dimebag Darrell. I think the only thing that would have made it better was if they played The Four Horsemen for the final collaboration instead of Am I Evil. It's what everyone wanted to see.

I went! It was soooo awesome! The car ride was ridiculous though.. 8-10 hours or something, holy christ. You would not believe how hard it was sitting in the middle in the back seat, my legs hurt so bad! Anyways, we got there at 1:30 maybe 2pm, we walked half a mile to the check in/ security. That took an hour, we got in, getting our ticket scanned was the easy part! We walked around, got some food, i went across the field to get a BIG4 shirt, of course a cluster of people were around the damn booth. There wasn t even a line, it was just a cluster of people around the booth, when one wave of people got there shirts, the next wave stepped forward. By the time i was halfway up, my friend Joe, wanted me to buy him a shirt too. They ran out of Larges so i had to get 2 extra large shirts. Still fits. Anyways, 20 minutes into waiting Anthrax started playing. It was fine with me, I m not really an Anthrax fan… Until after i heard a few different songs, then i was like I LOVE THIS BAND!!! I didn't get the set for Anthrax since i don't really listen to them. My friend Colton had always hated Megadeth for some reason, i don t remember why. Anyways, after Anthrax played, Megadeth took the stage probably 30 minutes later and opened with Trust, off of their Cryptic Writings album. It kicked ass! We got closer to the stage, i tried to get some pictures with my shitty Cell phone camera. They people said ‘professional cameras aren t allowed which is dumb, they allowed digital.. Not sure what to call mine, technically it IS a digital, but it looks like a pro camera… Whatever. Next time I ll bring it anyways. I got a video, sad thing is that my cell phones video zoom is greater than the actual camera zoom… STUPID! that made me very mad. I ended up getting a video of Megadeth playing, Headcrusher. After Megadeth played an Amazing show, Colton ended up liking them, especially the song Sweating Bullets.Songs they played in exact order: Songs they played, In order: Trust, In My Darkest Hour, Hangar 18, Wake Up Dead, Poison was the Cure, She-Wolf, Sweating Bullets, Head Crusher, A Tout Le Monde, Symphony of Destruction, Peace Sells( BUT WHOSE BUYING?), Holy Wars… The Punishment Due. Then, Slayer got on stage, this is when more people gathered. I had realized before anyone started playing, most of the people at the concert were there for Slayer and Metallica mainly. I personally thought Megadeth did better. Gabe and Colton decided to go mosh, i wished them the best of luck. Me and Joe went over the the giant circle booth to get some Megadeth shirts. Again, the line was long as someone taking a giant shit. I ended up getting a Metallica and Megadeth shirt. I was so happy for Metallica playing, i took off my big 4 shirt and just put my Metallica shirt over the slayer shirt i was originally wearing. The songs Slayer played were the following, in order: World Painted Blood, Hate Worldwide, War Ensemble, Postmortem, Raining Blood, Black Magic, Dead Skin Mask, Silent Scream, The Antichrist, Amerika, Payback, Seasons in the Abyss, Snuff, South of Heaven, Angel of Death. I still liked Slayer none the less, of course, i loved 3 out of the 4 until i actually listened to anthrax. After Slayer played, Gabe and Colton met with me and Joe at MistersMisters, the night had just fallen, i bought some chineese food, it was delicious and i pissed, i ran back to Gabe and Colton, and we walked toward the stage for Metallica. Metallica opened up with Creeping Death, which kicked ass by the way. Exact order of the set: Creeping Death, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fuel, Ride the Lightening, Fade To Black, Cyanide, All Nightmare Long, Sad but True, Sanitarium, Orion, One (which made me nearly cry), Master of Puppets, Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, Hit the Lights. After Metallica played, the 4 bands got up on stage and played Am I Evil? It kicked so much ass, but, James decided he loved us all so much, Metcallica wanted to play ONE MORE SONG. They FINALLY played Kill Em All. We were there from 2pm- 11pm, my legs hurt so bad, and we had a 4 hour drive to the hotel. well, it turns out we had to make a straight 8 hour drive back to Sacramento instead. Worth it..

30 years of music each. Over a century between them, yet they were able to lure in tens of thousands of fans young and old to the So. Cal. desert in Indio to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel the living sensory onslaught that this concert turned out to be! There were too many good things about the show to spend much time complaining. Each band was excellent. They played in the right order, but I think that the headliners with losts of pyro and theatrics steal the show from two other proven closers who very well could have comanded the crowd just as well. James was probably the best spokesman for the Big 4 though. He showed respect to all of the old bands who started at the same time and really put this historical event into perspective. All in all, I'd say it was a good enough show to do all that driving and sitting in traffic and wating in lines over again every weekend!

This was the concert we all waited 25 + years for and it was worth the wait. Every band was killer. If they do more US dates I'll definitely be there! The venue was so-so - I've definitley seen better and worse. In particular, leaving the parking lot was simply awful! We waited for 30 minutes to even move. These guys had no idea how to control traffic. I would think that after doing Coachella they'd have it figured out. Oh well, we had a great time anyway! /METALLICA\\ totally rocked it! The other bands were great too but let's face it - we all know this would have never happened without Metallica because they are the shit! By band, my favorite moments: Metallica - Orion, a rare tune played in honor of Cliff Burton Slayer - Angel of Death - it's my fav Megadeth - Wake Up Dead - that's the one I'd been waiting for. Anthrax - A.I.R. - another favorite along wth Metal Thrashing Mad. The view was pretty good all around, given the giant screens. If not for them my friends wouldn't have seen anything and I wouldn't have seen much. Would be nice to have an incline so people aren't on flat land trying to see over each other.

Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, all of them were on top of their game. Megadeth has especially stood out in the last two years as being extremely good live. Lars Ulrich I can't say the same about, but the rest of Metallica was amazing. Either way, to see all of the Big 4 on one stage was amazing. The sound was great, the crowd was crazy, the weather was perfect. The problem with the concert was the VIP pit. The idea of having a Snake Pit for Metallica back on the tour for the Black album was amazing, since the Snake Pit allowed for the VIP access to the band, and the other general admission concert goers in the audience still had an awesome show, right up in the action. But whoever's idea it was to just cut the audience in half, and call the front half the VIP pit is ridiculous. The VIP area was at 75% capacity at the most exciting times of the concert, and at other times, it was less than half full. The VIP pit was a waste of space, and a huge annoyance for anyone that paid to go to this show, and were forced to sit in the back of the audience. GET RID OF THE VIP PIT.

I had been waiting for this since the Show was announced early this year. Four of the Biggest, Hardest, and Best of Thrash/Heavy Metal band on the Planet, on one stage. European Audiences enjoy these types of shows on a regular basis, now it was time for North America to celebrate the gathering of these four Titans of Heavy Music. With the anticipation of this event, I was hoping that I would not be left wanting, No worries! from the opening chords of Anthrax's "Among the Living" to the final ring of Metallica's "Seek an Destroy", Seven hours of an aural assualt left the exhausted masses in the Coachella Valley pleased with the History that they had just witnessed. Despite the estimated crowd of 50,000 people, there were no issues of overcrowwding, lack of facilities, or incidents of severe violence. Fans were there to see four legendary bands play full sets of their greatest songs. Anthrax led off the afternoon with an hourlong set of mostly classics. Despite the early set time, the band pleased the crowd with songs from the Classic era, with lead singer, Joey Belladonna in fine voice. The band's geniune pride of being a part of this once in a lifetime gathering, showed throughout their set, feeding off the energy of the (mostly civil) Mosh pits. The band introduced a new song, "Fight 'em ('Til You Can't Fight Anymore)" that is going to be on their upcoming release with the reunited line up. Even though they have played songs from the John Bush era in other shows, they chose to stick with a sset list from the pre 90's era, which was fine by me. that period stands on it's own, and the band solidified it's legacy with this line up with this performance. Megadeth was next up, and they had fun during their hourlong set. Dave Mustaine and the band also stuck to the favorites, pleasing the audience with a technical, yet brutal, set list that kept the audience involved in the late afternoon heat. A very appreciative Mustaine thanked the fans for turning out in force, playing "Peace Sells",and other Mega classics to an energetic crowd. Slayer began the early evening with a Punishing set of Furious, Speed drivern, Heavy, selections from their arsenal. This was where the Pits were a little more active and, a lot more fiery (seriously, fire pits popped up throughout the grounds.) This appeared to please Tom Araya, who took the performance to screaming, supersonic levels. With brief pauses to give everyone a breather, The band Pummeled the Indio audience with "South of Heaven/ Angel of Death" with a surprise appearance by Jeff Hanneman, Slayer guitarist who was not expectect to attend due to medical issues. After a long pause to reset the stage, it was time for the Bull of the Woods, the reason this event was able to happen in this part of the world, the most successful band of the genre, The mighty Metallica. With a mix of early Thrash calassics; "Creeping Death', "Seek and Destroy", and crowd favorites; "One", Enter Sandman", James Hetfield led the San Francisco (via Downey CA) Bashers on a solid perfomance. The crowd was probably tired with all the energy used up during the day, but it found a new life when Metallica led them through their set. Hetfield was surely pleased with the crowds perticipation, and a mutual appreciation was felt from everyone in attendance. Kirk Hammet was solid with his lead guitar playing, and Robert Trujillo was more than capable handling the Bass for Metallica gems "Orion" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls". To say the band has mellowed, would be a complete fallacy. They were just as hungry, just as heavy, and just as relevant, as they hace ever been. This is the band that has carried the torch for Hard/Heavy music, and should continue to do so for years to come.

This event was unforgettable to say the least. The sun was out, but the wind was blowing, offering a twisted balance of the entire situation. My friends and I arrived early to enjoy the day as much as possible. The VIP area was comfortable and accommodating and the field was large. Walking up to the large stage was a magnificent site. We traveled from Austin, Texas and this was the best show we have ever been to. The day flew by and was filled with great entertainment. The set changes happened quickly and everything was very well organized. THE ENERGY LEVEL WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! All the bands were awesome but Metallica was the best!! They played over 2 hours non-stop with lots of old school thrash music!!! Go VIP all the way. The setup was awesome. The view couldn't have been any better - you could be right up front or towards the back where it was less crowded - your choice! They did a great job by not overselling the VIP area. Just enough space to get in the mix without feeling overcrowded. Nice comfy couches in the shade, air conditioned bathrooms with running water and great food and drink choices. This was a great experience all the way around!

The Big 4 - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax - put on an absolute amazing show on Sept 14, 2011. Anthrax pumped up the crowd, Megadeth blasted the stadium away with their guitar riffs and solos, Slayer unleashed waves upon waves of onslaught with their relentless fury of brutal metal, and Metallica closed out the show with the energy and explosiveness that only they can bring. As James Hetfield said, this is indeed history. The gods of heavy metal have joined hands and we can only bow before their eminence.

It was amazing to see 4 bands that typically headline their own shows play together!! Megadeth and Metallica were my favorite!! The only problems I had were 1) it was just too damn hot!! Perhaps holding it in the beginning of the summer would have been a little bit better and 2) there were far too few T-shirt Venders! Sound was phenomenal!! The encore was amazing!!

Anthrax rocked! Megadeth was amazing, even with the announcement from Dave that he needed throat surgery and Slayer dominated the event! Metallica blew it big time! Letting the crowd mellow out for an hour before taking the stage was their way of acknowledging that they couldn't compete with Slayer so they took the adrenaline out of the crowd by making us wait. Too self indulgent, Metallica needs to review their set list and stick with what got them where they are and forget the crappy stuff from Death Magnetic!

Okay, first of all I am not a fan of any of the 4 bands that played. I merely went as a favor to someone. However, I left being a total Metallica fan, and I have total new respect for Slayer. Wow, they put on a hell of a show. I missed Anthrax (though could hear them from outside) due to the large lines. Getting in the stadium was tough. Seeing as this show was held on a Wednesday night, most people had to go after work and miss the first band and possibly the second. And, seeing as the demographic for these bands is middle-aged men... they (hopefully) are gainfully employed. Definitely a holy mother of an ugly crowd. I will say that. But what they lack in looks, and grooming devices, they MORE than make up for in sheer dedication to their bands. No doubt about it, these bands have a rock-solid fan base. I guess I have now entered that club. But I will still continue to shower and avoid illegal substances. For now.

As a resident from the BRONX and a true Metal Head it was an Honor to have 4 major Metal Acts come to my front Door at YANKEE STADIUM. METALLICA might have been main attraction but I was giving much support to ANTHRAX. Frank Bello and Charlie Benette are from the Bronx so I had to show my Love. Also must respect from DAVE MUSTAINE from MEGADETH who did the show even though he's about to have an operation on his neck. SLAYER put on an Amazing show as always well as METALLICA. This was a BRONX dream come true for ANTHRAX as well as mine. Thank You so much. PLEASE bring more METAL ACTS to the BRONX....METAL RULES !!

I've been waiting for this line up for years! I am soo happy it came to be! What else can I say? This is truly a show to remember. One of the biggest gatherings for the pioneers of Thrash Metal on the east coast.

The entire show was great. To see all those bands all at once was just insane. But I was there to see Metallica... to see Enter Sandman live at Yankee Stadium. Metallica was AWESOME. Never saw them live before, and they didn't disappoint. And as I was sitting there, I could not believe that when I looked above the stage I saw YANKEE STADIUM. To finally see them live, in Yankee Stadium, the home of the Sandman himself was just epic. Massive crowds and MASSIVE sound. I'm sure the neighbors were awake the whole night because all of those bands brought it and brought it hard. One of the best, if not THE best, concert I've ever been to. Hats off to Dave Mustaine for playing the show when he should have been in the hospital. I think that shows us all how much those bands appreciate the fans coming out to see them. Friggin' guy could barely move is head but Megadeth put on one hell of a set. I hope I get to see another Big 4 show some time in the future, but for me, it'll never be the same as it was at Yankee Stadium.

This is my 25th time seeing Metallica (300th concert overall!). I was just simply blown away! All 4 bands kicked ass!!! VIPGA and backstage was definately the way to go. Got about 10 feet from the stage for all 4 bands. Crazy pictures and video! Met Randy Johnson who was a camerman.....yes Randy Johnson the pitcher! Can't believe its been 30 years already. Crazy!

I typically only go to festivals instead of concerts, Coachella being my favorite. But this was easily the most epic festival I have ever been to. The lineup was amazing, second to none and they lived up to their names like it was no big deal. I think the bands had just as much fun as we did, and it was an experience I'll never forget. I was overwhelmed with metal, and these guys made Ozzfest look tame. That being said, I'd go again in a heartbeat.

The whole experience... the VIP parking wasn't VIP but far away! The gate guard for the VIP area was clueless and turned us away 3 times! We came back a fourth time and he opened up... I guess someone told him that VIP can use the VIP entrance. The food was expensive crap that leaves a lot to be desired. Anthrax was great... clean sound and lots of energy. Megadeth was tight and put on a good show. Slayer beat the snot out of my eardrums and a very good show... Jesus Rules! Satan Sucks! Metallica was intense! Better than I imagined... very tight, excellent show... loved the fireworks for One and debris was falling all over the place which was cool. The screen was very good and easy to see... lots of energy.

This show was freaking AWESOME!!!!!! I can't begin to describe how much fun this concert was. We had VIP tickets and were in the VIP Pit right up close to the stage. Best place to be. There isn't a concert that will ever top this one, except another Big 4 concert, of course. Having Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax play together was like getting 4 gifts in one. One concert in the US is not nearly enough. Bring on more PLEASE! Your fans deserve it. Would not have missed it for anything. Our only disappointment of the night was when we went to buy The Big 4 concert t-shirts and found they were all sold out. There were no merchandise vendors in VIP. We later found out they were only selling them at the entrance to GA. By the time we went there they were gone. We hope that The Big 4 guys will be selling them online so we can purchase them to show we attended the most awesome concert ever.

I have been waiting for this show since I was in 6th grade and found out about thrash metal. My friends and I used to always joke about the greatest show of all time being the big 4 playing together, but had never actually thought it would happen. When we heard about them touring Europe we lost our minds, and just hoped they would come to the states. Well they did, and we were there for it. This was easily one of the greatest shows I have ever been to, if not the greatest. Every band brought it hard, the atmosphere was amazing, and the set lists were surprisingly very good. Of course they all had to play a couple songs off of their newest albums, which are not always my favorite, but other then "cyanide" and "all nightmare long" by Metallica, they still made the new stuff sound pretty awesome live. The only issue I had with this show was the parking. It took us 2 hours to get out of the lot. But other then that if you love metal and want to see the god fathers of thrash all kick your ass for an entire day, then you need to see the big 4 live.

All 4 bands shredded like they never had before, no words could describe the intensity each band played with, simply...the Biggest and Best 4 were out of this world!!!!! (and I've been rocking with these bands since the beginning of time) (yep, when Dave Mustaine was a member of Metallica). Not to mention the venue couldn't have been more perfect.

The weather couldn't have been anymore perfect for this event. Yes! It was hot as shit in the early afternoon, but as the day went on a breeze started to take away the sting of the sun. The Empire Polo fields were definately the best place to have a festival of this magnitude. Anthrax was great. It was awesome to finally have the chance to see them perform, and they did not disappoint. There were a few songs that I wish they would have played that would have made there set completely unforgettable like "A.D.I/Horror of It All" and "I'm the Man", but overall they rocked it! Megadeth kicked ass as usual. This was the fourth time I have seen Megadeth live and each time is better than the last; what better place to seen them again then as part of the Big 4. There set was great. Once again there were a few songs I would have rather heard ("Angry Again"), but I am not complaining about what I saw. Slayer tore that shit up! I was looking forward to seeing them the most. This was the third time I have seen Slayer, and each time I see them they are better than the last. Best song of the Slayer set in my mind had to have been "Angel of Death", but "South of Heaven" was pretty insane too. Last up was Metallica, and what can I say...AMAZING!! I have only seen Metallica once in the past, back on the Cunning Stunts tour, and they were great then too. This show they took it to a whole new level. In past years after the release of Re-Load, St. Anger, and most recently Death Magnetic I have kinda the intensity I once had when it came to listening to Metallica. I am and will always be a die hard fan of all their stuff from Black album back, but haven't so much a fan of Load on (There are a lot of fans that can agree). But seeing them at Indio last weekend re-opened me up to Metallica, and I have decided to go back and give their later stuff another try (still not sure about St. Anger though). These guys played one hell of a show on saturday, kicking classic song after classic song. They only played one Re-Load song and two Death Magnetic songs, but even those rocked. It was so awesome that they played "Orion", and next to "One", had to be one of the best moments of the whole day. The only complaint I have it they sold out of all the Big 4 t-shirts before Megadeth had even finished. I would have really liked to gotten one of those shirts to remember this event. My hope is that maybe they will release them on the internet so that I can still purchase one. I was there and I want my shirt to prove it; Well I go the ticket too I guess. It would also be cool to see a Blu ray release of the show. Fuck the show in Bulgaria! I want a Blu ray of the show in AMERICA!! After all the Big 4 are all American bands!

What can you say - these four bands on one stage? Metallica was fantastic! I have seen them numerous times and I think that were on top of their game. Actually all four bands sounded like they wanted to show the crowd that they were still to be the ones "to beat" within the metal scene. Once in a lifetime show and it was well worth the hype.

I've been a fan of all these bands for over 25 years now and had always dreamed of the day they'd all play together here in the U.S. Back then, my friends and I would sit around and talk about what our perfect concert line-up would be and this was it. I would have never thought I'd see this dream become reality. Goes to show you that time heals all wounds and with age comes wisdom. I applaud all bands for overcoming any bad blood, squashing egos and simply realizing how much there is to celebrate. I sincerely thank you all for this!
