This band is ridiculously good and way underrated. It's a shame they don't get the airtime they deserve because of all the crappy pop they call rock taking all the airtime up these days. But if you are a pure rock enthusiast then you have to see and hear these guys to believe them. Help spread the word and make sure they stick around and keep playing what is arguably the best rock recorded in the last 30 years!! BCC is building the foundation!! Everyone from Glenn's signing to Joe's guitar playing was spot on. Jason Bonham on drums and Derek on keyboard was just amazing from start to finish these guys never took their foot off the pedal.

I went into this gig with some high expectations, but BCC met all of them and much more. Each member was at the top of their game. The chemistry was amazing! The energy was so high in the club, people were exhilarated after the show. Do not miss them when they come back (hopefully soon).

This was a very exciting show! I felt like I was back in time seeing some of the greats from my youth. They were on fire and totally in sync. Glenn is without a doubt the voice of rock, Jason is the best hard rock drummer alive, Derek' Hammond underpins it all and sets the atmosphere while Joe burns on hi guitars. Totally fantastic guys.

The BCC is a Rock&Roll band that really rocks. Very, very loud, played nonstop with passion, seemed to enjoy being in this venue. Joe Bonamassa was the best musician and showman. He seemed just a tiny bit uncomfortable with his fellow band members and their noise vs. skill approach. Overall not a dissapointmernt at all. The crowd (myself included ) seemed to be enthusiastic and expected the type of concert it was. Reminded me of high school/college listening to a group that specialized in noise . Very good value for the money. Band played nonstop and came out and worked the encore with equal zest. I would like to see them again. Would rather see/hear Joe B. as a solo act. I would not buy their music, but have bought many JB downloads and CD's.

The show was just amazing, sound, lighting, and song choices. The band had a great chemistry with the audience and Glen Hughes looked to be in his 40s, not 60. The guitar playing by Bonomassa was incredible to say the least, his vocals were great as well. Loved when they play song of yesterday. This band fully rocked the house and drums by Bonham did not disappoint. I would recommend this show to any fan of rock but especially to fans of great rock

Very disappointing. Extremely talented people, especially Joe Bonamassa. We had been to Joe's concert at the Balboa Theater earlier in the year, and it was great. But this one was marred by horrific acoustics. Don't know if it was the hall, or the way the sound crew had things set up. Vocals were poorly projected. Individual players with "solos" were fine, but when all were involved (as in most of the concert) the sound quality was very poor. This was the first concert of the tour, and maybe they just need to get things worked out, but I'm ticked off they used San Diego as a "practice" round.

overall the band was really tight , played well together with no weaknesses ,all the players were outstanding ! joe as always stoled the show ,eventhough the spotlight was focused on glen . all the vocals seemed to be a little high pitched . glen was very animated ( typically a brit glam rocker type )but great none the less ! joe is destined for super stardom and really doesn't need this group as much as they need him !

From someone who had seen these bands when we were all young, I was impressed how their voices were as strong as ever, not to mention their instruments! Joe Bonamasa is one of my all time favorites, my husband & I have followed him since he opened for Johnny Lang Vegas 2002. If he couldn't sing & all you could hear is his guitar sing, it's amazeing, add his voice & i could listen to him all day! Jason the drummer is so talented & loved the solo. I was not farmiliar with the keyboard player, but between the four of them it was the perfect mix! I was shocked their was not more people there, but I'm sure that when the word gets out, they will sell out their concerts. So glad we saw them first! Would have liked to have heard a little more of Joes singing, but it really was a perfect night. PS. They had closed down our offramp at Greenriver, so I had to walk from Greenriver to Gypsion, on the river trail. Atotal of 3 miles, but I would not have missed it for anything!

Black Country Communion s powerful and moving concert to kick off their U.S. tour left me breathless and voiceless for that matter. With my love for this group of seasoned musicians debut record ‘Black Country‘ I knew I had to see them perform these instant rock classics live. The Civic Theater located in the heart of downtown San Diego, CA is a classy venue with excellent acoustics and superb seating (not a bad seat in the house, especially where I was seated). I wandered aloud to my guest Steve that accompanied me to the show, how many people were there to see Joe Bonamassa or Black Country Communion. With the look of the crowd (definitely an older demographic, a lot of gray hair) it might have been to see Joe. Myself, I was there to see a rock band made up of legendary blues guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, incredible rock vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes, drummer Jason Bonham born of a pedigree of drumming royalty and keyboardist Derek Sherinian who brings the tradition of the Hammond/Leslie sound back into the fold, I was their to see Black Country Communion rock the house, and I was not disappointed. Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa With no opening band I knew we were in for a evening of nothing but sophisticated blues based hard rock music played by some serious journeymen. The house lights went down and the crowd stood up as BCC hit the stage opening the show with the sizzling track ‘Black Country‘ from their debut record, and it was on. Bonamassa, dressed in all white, attacking his Gibson Les Paul while sporting some cool shades with hair slicked back looked the part of a Cuban hit man with a six stringed gun. Bonham, perched behind his Vistalite DW drums stylishly donning a hat, scarf and jacket that he quickly disposed of after the first song. Keyboardist Derek Sherinian looking the most casual of the group could have easily been mistaken for a tourist that accidentally found his way on stage. Then there was the ever hyper Mr. Hughes, tennis shoes (rather large ones at that) slacks and tee shirt covered by a purple brocade jacket with a large chain necklace, he is quite the character and a brilliant front man. Glenn s voice cut through the night air with razor sharp clarity while he and Bonamassa playfully faced off on a Plant/Page like vocal/guitar duel as Hughes cried out like a preacher I am a messenger, this is my prophecy to the delight of the congregation of faithful followers. I immediately noticed that Bonham s drum mix was anemic (to say the least) lacking any pop or punch that you d expect from a heavy hitter like him at a live show. I hoped it would improve as the show continued. The setlist was a mix of songs from their 2010 debut ‘Black Country‘ and the upcoming record simply titled ‘Black Country Communion 2‘ out June 14th, 2011. Bonamassa played like a man possessed, the tone and sound coming out of his Marshall amps enveloped the theater as he cranked out technically perfect riffs and solo s that were rich in taste and feel. He is such a perfectionist when it comes to his playing as Hughes stated during the show The man never makes a mistake. Glenn was right, as far as I could tell, no matter what he was playing, the rhythm of the song, the scorching solo s or while singing lead vocals he was machine like, but one with heart and soul. If I ever had a thought that Jason Bonham was an average drummer living on the coat tails of his legendary father, John s reputation, those thoughts were put to rest, Jason can flat out play. Although, as I said his drum mix was weak I could focus enough on his playing to see a drummer play with precision and fire. While either laying down a rock solid beat in the pocket or tying it all together fills and mini solos within the songs, Jason proved his metal. Derek Sherinian, a local boy born in Laguna Beach, Ca has performed with some big names in rock that include Alice Cooper, Yngwie Malmsteen and Alice In Chains and was a member of Dream Theater. Known as The King Of Keyboards Sherinian has been playing since the age of five and it showed. He quietly went about his business switching from one keyboard to the next. But his main spot was behind the beautiful Hammond B3 organ encased in maple and played through a Leslie speaker giving it an old school look and sound. I love the sound of an organ played through a Leslie speaker and he played it to perfection. Glen Hughes was the by far the most animated of the group and wore his emotions on his sleeve and face as he danced about the stage mouth opened wide, face contorted with joy. He often and emphatically thanked the appreciative crowd for their support and for coming out to the opening show of the bands U.S. tour. He played a beat up Fender bass and would often interact with Bonamassa toying with him to join in with the fun. I was blown away with the power and ease in which Hughes sang. It has been well documented that he has had his problems with drugs and alcohol which almost derailed his career, and he will celebrate his 60th birthday this August, but you would never know that from watching and hearing him perform, he is an amazing vocalist and excellent bassist. The songs from both records came to life during the show and played even heavier and harder with an electric energy about them that could not be denied. A couple songs featured a few surprises like the nod to The Who at the end of the song ‘Sista Jane‘ or Bonamassa performing with a Theremin during a guitar solo. The highlights of the night for me was the performance of the tune ‘Song Of Yesterday‘ which is a powerful number and brought the crowd to their feet as Bonamassa completed his solo like the days of old when a musician in a big band would stand and solo and the crowd would show their appreciation with applause. The other highlight was the shows closer ‘Burn‘ from Hughes days with Deep Purple, it ROCKED. I can only tell you that it was an unforgettable night of masterful musicianship and high energy rock and if this tour comes anywhere near you, don t miss it!

First off, I'd like to say, you don't see and hear this type of music much anymore, For those of us that grew up in the 70's, this is almost like going back to that era. Progressive rock at it's best. This band is quite different from Joe Bonamassa and more to the likes of Glen Hughes. If you're expecting the Joe B. solo stye of blues and rock, forget it. It's almost as if Joe transformed to be this player and it's a good thing. The music was moving and constantly changing, tempo and style. Rock was definitely in the air, with Joe's searing leads and Glens' voice, oh man, he hasn't lost a bit of clean hard edgy tone. Overall this is good rock and roll. Don't expect poppy rock or supper catching hooks, this is rock head on, kick ass guitar and posturing. Let it rock! Jason Bonham...dad would be proud! That's all you got to say about Jason...true player.

I don't understand why I can't seem to get good sound at a show with Joe Bonamassa, but that was the case in Anaheim, as it was at two previous JB shows. I know that QSC system in the Grove's room. It did NOT have to deliver a thin sound, lacking detail and punch. But enough of that..... I flew back and forth from San Antonio, just to see this show. I HAD to. And as I watched, I realized, this was rock and roll like it used to be. Hard. Raw. In your face. No frills. I was back in the 70's again, albeit sans the "enhancements" of the day. And it was well worth the travel, as BCC delivered a fantastic show, that left me wanting nothing when it was over. Joe and Glen seemed an unlikely match to me, until I heard the first album. And in the live show, it was as if they had been together for decades. Same with Jason B. Glen does not "attack" his bass playing live as I had expected. He plays a bit behind the beat, which I get, so it was Jason's drumming that drove the band. These guys were hooked up and turbo charged far better than I would have imagined, considering the utter lack of rehearsal time they must have. I barely heard poor Derrick throughout the show, but the albums reveal his fine input and spectacular playing. Someone forgot to turn the mics on for a lot of Bonham's drum set, and a lot of his fills were hard to hear. But he was a big, pounding, powerhouse of a drummer, just like dad. Anyone going to the show, wondering how JB might fare outside of his blues motif, need not be concerned. Joe is a MONSTER let loose from his own catalog. He was only too happy to let Glen take center stage, while he just hunkered over the usual variety of tasty axes, and proceeded to put on a CLINIC of heavy playing. I've heard some don't like the sound of Joe's voice in this band. I didn't get that. I felt it worked well, despite the dramatic differences in voice. Speaking of albums, BCC 2 was available at the show, and I got it, and all I can say is wow. NONE of the second album hybrid/supergroup letdown here! If you listen to Glen's words, these guys are in it for a long haul, they enjoy working together so much. That's great news, in a world otherwise largely devoid of great new music. Hardly a surprise, that it takes old school veterans to pull it off. And Joe's only in his 30's. And Glen Hughes has lost NOTHING on that voice! The best is yet to come.

The BBC was an awesome show. Greg's voice was exceptional as a rocker, Bonham was like a machine on the drums, Sheridan keyboards had a retro sound and Bonamassa was outstanding as a rocker, but needs to turn his amp up and be heard. Last song of set Bonamassa cranked up his flying V guitar and was not over shadowed by Greg's lyrics with good balance.

I enjoyed it thoroughly. However, I have these suggestions: Too much lead singer (who was a serious ham) and not enough Joe - although the lead singer was quite good. The organist ought to be replaced with someone who can do an occasional solo. The drummer was just fine, although he, too, should have been better able (or perhaps more willing) to do a solo every so often. Much too loud for my Blackberry to record an acceptable video; otherwise a very good concert. I wore earplugs.

What a refreshing thing it is when you hear and see a band that truly "gets it." BCC is the spiritual and musical heir to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and all that was ingratiation about 1970s hard rock and blues. Hughes has clearly put together a team of virtuosos who have been remarkably prolific considering they only formed a year ago. The new material featured prominently throughout the 16-song set. "Smokestack Woman", "The Battle For Hadrian's Wall" and the cover of "Burn" really set the mood for this retro-modern concert. Not to be missed. Worth the price of admission and then some. This band has a bright future.

I thought I knew what I was getting myself into when I went to see BCC in San Diego...Well it was more than I could have imagined. As a longtime hard rock, rock, classic rock, blues fan I knew the background (and have both of their CD's) of the members of Black Country Communion and expected a great show...Now I know what was experienced when concertgoers first saw Hendrix, Zeppelin, Cream, DP, the Stones, etc. felt when they first saw them live... Awesome. Hughes vocals were amazing (not to mention he is 1 of the great bass players in rock history!), Jason Bonham is truly 1 of the best drummers around, Sherinian can play the organ (and then some!), and Joe B is 1 of the great "ROCK" guitarists of all time! What a show! I can't wait to see them again! ROCK ON! These guys can play with anyone who ever took the stage. They ended with the DP classic "Burn"...Well DP could not have ever played it better!

All in all, it was an enjoyable performance. The sound wasn't the best - too loud and not the clearest, but when Joe went into one of his many riffs, it was magical. He is truly one of the most amazing guitar players I've ever seen. A match for Clapton, Derek Trucks, Sonny Landreth, et al. Soaring, compelling music. Best song of the night - "Sista Jane", but they should have also played "Too late for the Sun". Bonham was a beast on the drums, sometimes taking over the show. My advise? Give us more Joe. When he was featured, the act soared. When you have the best - use him. Oh... and play LONGER next time.

It was a great show as the band was very tight an knew the setlist very well. Each member was excellent and brought a lot to each song. Glenn Hughes is a great lead singer who brings emotion to each song. Joe Bonamossa is a fantastic guitarist and he was blazing this evening. He had the perfect blend of blues and rock. Jason Bonham was the driving force on the rhythm section and made the songs seem heavier than on the CD's. Derek Sheridan was a complement to the band and the songs live. He didn't miss a beat. All in All it was a fantastic concert and I wouldn't hesitate to see them again. I just wished they played 2 songs more to make in a 2 hour set. The 105 minute set was making you want more and more.

The band came on at 8 pm and started with the song Black Country and took off from there. With a mixture of songs from their first two albums and announceing that this was their 7th show of the tour,BCC were amazing.I've been to over a thousand shows and their's no one more entertaining and enjoyable to watch then Glenn Hughes. His singing, bass playing and the energy he gives off thru his music is phenomenal.Alongside him was Joe"rip fire"Bonamassa on guitar who also sings and on his way to being another guitar god.Waching Joe smile through all those songs and ripping through those solos made you feel real comfortable for tonights show.On drums-Jason BONHAM-the name says it all-absolutely fantastic and Derek Sherinian who came from the band Dream Theater-on keyboards, another supreme musician. The show was very enjoyable and the band played with passion and energy!!!

Saw this concert with Joe Bonamassa playing with Black Country Communion. It was a shame I'd wasted my money on it, as it in no way compared to Joe's concert there at the Casino last November, with his own band. Musically, it was a scream fest that actually hurt your ears and seemed pointless when Glenn Hughes dominated a song. And even when he did not dominate, when the audience was screaming and cheering for JOE'S solos, he jumped to the front, center stage, threw his arms open wide and enjoyed the limelight. I want to be clear that the songs in which Joe's singing was featured, and his playing featured, the place felt alive, rocking, there was a powerful rock groove that the rest of the band just did not inspire, with the exception of the drummer. Hughes' antics were pathetic, and his hair and outfit tacky and stupid looking. I cannot recommend highly enough avoiding ever seeing these guys. Sadly, even as great as Joe B. is, even with his influence, it's a show worth passing on.

They absolutely brought it with a hard rock edge and maniacal blues guitarist who makes sure to let you know that it's more than just riff rock. An excellent show for a fresh new band on the come up. Bonamassa was sharp & sly as always, just melting faces with solos. Bonham was ferociously on point all night, really impressive. Some people are going to complain that Glenn's voice is too high pitched, I'm not one of them. I think certain songs the soundman should've been able to acknowledge he needed to pot him down a bit but didn't. But Glenn is just an ultimate showman, always pumping up the crowd and playing with energy. Sherinian was also better than expected. All around great show with good mix of tracks from both of their LP's. "The Ballad of John Henry" and the Jimmy Page inspired "Save Me" were the highlights of the night.

BCC is simply the most amazing band to come out in a long time. And did they ever show why live at the Murat on 6/15/2011! See the video of Beggarman if you need to see some proof. They tore the place up with an amazing set and they were having a blast doing it, smiling and having a great time all night. If you have a chance to see them don't miss it ... it will really blow you away! Thanks Joe, Glenn, Derek, and Jason for an amazing show ... what an awesome experience can't wait for another chance to see you guys live!

This concert was packed with songs from both albums. For a new band, they played like old friends. I expected a great show with Joe Bonamassa on Guitar and Jason Bonham on drums (as they worked together on Joe's 2005 You and Me album for the Led Zeppelin song "Tea for One") but the whole group was awesome. They played some of my favorites (Sista Jane, The Great Divide, and Song of Yesterday) and introduced some new ones from their second album, which came out the next day. I was probably the youngest in attendance (25) as the band played music as if it were made in the '70's. Lots of baby boomers in the audience. Nonetheless, I'm a fan of Joe and a fan of the band. I can't wait until they come to St. Louis again.

Being that this event was listed on Joe Bonamassa's website, expected to be at least in the same class or genre as Joe as a solo act. The only highlight was when Joe did a song on his own or his featured guitar solos. Did Joe owe someone a favor to appear in this? Without his affiliation I don't see where this band has any standout qualities. These were the highest priced tickets ever paid at this venue and the most disappointing.

Band was very cohesive and seems like they've been playing together for years. All are talented musicians and Glenn Hughes' voice is remarkable. The pageant is probably the best concert venue I have been to. Clean, modern, sound was great, closeness to the band was fantastic and size was perfect. Wont see a band in a large arena where you have to sit too far away. The one thing I didn't like was that a warm up band was advertised on the Pageant website the day of the show and there was no warm up band. As a result we missed the first 15-20" of the show since we werent all that interested in seeing anyone other than BCC and figured the warmup band would play at the designated show start time. Ended up BCC started at 8.. The main irritation was that the BCC set was ONLY 1 hour and 45 minutes. Not good enough for a $70 ticket. Good experience though even with the short set since the band really sounded good. Would I see them again????? All depends on ticket price versus length of the show.

This was my first time at the Grove of Anaheim and first time seeing Black Country Communion LIVE! Both were fantastic. It was a small crowd for some BIG sound. I first saw Joe Bonamassa on TV at Albert Hall. I was amazed!! What a great stumble upon!! I have a new favorite on my list which includes Clapton, Van Morrison, Bad Co and the White Stripes. I will definitely see another show when in town. Thanks for a great evening of of Rock and Blues. I hope the best for this band so others can experience the GREATNESS on stage!

From the very beginning, it was clear that BCC came to rock the Casino Ballroom. For the next 2 plus hours, the crowd was rockin to the sounds of this ass kicking, pure rock band. BCC just continued to blow me away. BCC claims to be bringing rock back and they deliver with each song.Glenn Hughes and his hard rock ,high volume voice, amazes you with every note. He brings back some great memories of bands that I loved in the past. It's almost like he's a tour guide that takes you back to the age that rock had balls, soul and all was good. Joe Bonamassa is a guitar god.He continues to amaze and surpass what you have heard before. His playing continues to be kick ass whether he's playing with his solo band or going full metal jacket with BCC. With the additon of Jason Bonham on drums and Derek Sherinian on keyboards BCC is Ready for a trip to Rock greatness. Make plans to see this group before you can't get tickets to their future sold out shows. I'm sold after just one show..

I was very excited about this show and I wasn't disappointed! The guys were just phenomenal. Glen Hughes has a fantastic voice and can hit some crazy notes. He has that killer classic rock voice! Joe Bonamassa is a guitar genius and added a bluesy feel to some of the tunes. Jason Bonham was outstanding, as usual, and I can't help but feel a Zeppelin-ish quality to some of their new songs! Derek Sherinian brought a completely different vibe to the group and I appreciated the keyboards. All in all, one of the best shows I've seen in a long time!

Great show, horrific venue and acoustics. Joe Bonamassa steals the spotlight (which is awesome as he is simply phenomenal). A little more time to settle into their "groove" as a group and they will be amazing. They were all having a blast which makes the show memorable, fun and something to look forward to again. Security needs to lighten up and get a life. A group of baby boomers ain't gonna do much harm...in fact next time, a designated mosh pit would be the way to go!

Black Country Communion is a breath of fresh air to the world of Rock and Roll, bringing together a super-group of 4 legends in Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), Joe Bonamassa, Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin), and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater). Their original music is straight from the heart of Rock, and with 2 (going on 3) albums in 3 years, they show no signs of slowing down. They rocked the perfect, intimate-sized Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in June of 2011, and already I'm awaiting their return. Fronted by a legend, backed by some of the best, you cannot miss them.

If you want to be transported back to an era of outstanding and vibrant hard rock...Black Country is your ticket!! I have not heard anyone so good since the 70s. Joe Bonamassa is without doubt one of the best guitar players of our time and the rest of the band is equally awesome. I really think the influences that this band have (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Pink Floyd) give Black Country a great mix without compromising their own identity. I really love this band and I hope they continue to tour and to bring us more music in the future.

Icredible power band / lineup! Glenn Hughes was awesome, all over the stage, he is the powerfull, energetic frontman / showman, that this band needs, and what a perfect rock 'n' roll voice. Jason Bonham is as good or better than his dad, a tough task to accomplish. Joe Bonnamassa was as heavy and spot on as could be, and Derek Sherinnian fills out the perfect quartet, quite the professional musician. The encore of Purples' "BURN" was beyond great !!! BCC is a very good band composed of four superstars but if you really want to see a show see Joe Bonamassa fronting his own band. Not to take away from Glenn Hugh's place in rock history, Bonamassa can carry a show with his quitar. His playing is under utilized with BCC. He spent too much time with his back to the audience not enabling us to see the incredable playing. In his solo shows he also play more genres of music. Even when he was playing, Hughs would be prancing in front of him making faces. Hugh's voice is fabulous and songs that used both his and Bonamassa's vocals were some of the best.

While collectively these musicians have both resume's and talent, their sounds, together, didn't work for me. Joe Bonamassa is an incredible guitarist and his forte is the blues. While his guitar solos were impressive with this band, the high pitched vocals of Glenn Hughes and the solos from the Keyboard player and Bonham drowned out his brilliance. This is not the vehicle to showcase Joe's immense talent. This is definitely the wrong venue for Joe and his Talent. Additionally. the acoustics in the Casino were slightly off...you couldn't decipher the lyrics and could sometimes not really hear Joe's guitar.

What band releases 2 full length CD's within 9 months? The answer is Black Country Communion.....and both CD's are awesome. Black Country Communion is an amazing band that has a sound that nobody is playing in 2011. Seeing them live solidified my assessment of the band. Great show, great sound, great music, great band. Two hours of non stop rock & roll. The Classic Rock sound has resurrected with this band. The groovin', hard rocking riffs along with the back bone sound of Bonham makes this band stand tall above all. I'm looking forward to them coming back to the US and seeing them every time they are in my area. ..........

Joe and Jason were phenomenal. I didn't get the point of Derek being in the band, His keyboards were muddled and didn't contribute to the sound. Glenn Huges should retire. He was a clone of his 70's self, just a mockery, embarrassing to watch. Music was very good, just not a good show

The first song was to tell what the whole concert would be like. The ear piercing singing (screaming) from the ex Deep Purple quitarist told me why he wasn't the lead singer before now. The way to ruin a virtuosso on quitar and a very excellent drummer is to give the mike, and the show, to the bassist. I tried staying, but it was a total waste of money and drive time.

Bonamassa and Bonham are simply the best combo I have ever witnessed. Hughes is a great bass player with an average voice, sometimes annoying with his antics, just play the bass man and it would be better than having you screaming into the mike. The song selection was decent but I was still wanting for more at the shows end. Again, Bonamassa was at his best when jamming with Bonham and Hughes was just playing the bass. And there was an organ player there to fill in some sound every once in a while, generaly useless they are, as Joe's 3 man bands have proven. Would have loved to have heard No Quarter as the encore, only that could have made it even more memorable.

A bad ass power trio with a sprig of parsley on the side. Bonnamassa is just ridiculous with his mind boggling solo's and heavy driving rhythms. Hughes was very impressive on bass and his vocals and charisma have not faded. You would never know he was an elder statesman. Bonham definitely takes after his old man as a hard working heavy hitter. Plays a slightly bigger kit than Bonzo but uses every bit of it. (no gong). I wasn't sure what to expect going in. Wearing my black Zep Swan Song 1977 world tour tee, I guess I was expecting a good dose of Zeppelin. Not the case. With the exception of JB's " John Henry" about half way through and Deep Purples "Burn" to close the show, a BCC tune turned "Rock & Roll" including the drum ending, was the only taste of non BCC music to be had. Let me be clear, that is not a complaint. Their material is so good I walked away completely satisfied and wondering when they might swing by the area again. So, whichever band member draws you in, you wont be disappointed. They rock hard start to finish. Very refreshing for this 48 yr old rocker in these lean times for rock & roll. My apologies to the keyboard but like I said, a classic power trio with a mere garnish on the side. Maybe Joe B was just blowing my mind with his flawless scorching solo's that I failed to notice.

BCC is an awesome band and their 2 albums are incredible. Unfortunately I walked out of the show after about 40 minutes. My ear drums were vibrating. It wasn't from the instruments, but Glenn Hughes kep telling the sound guys to turn his vocal mike up and it was just way too loud. My ear drums were literally vibrating and I didn't want to jeopardize my hearing, which it did anyway for about a day and a half. A real pity, because they are such a great band.

BCC are a return to that Great powerhouse rock we loved in the late 70's and early 80's. Glenn Hughes claims they are just a Rock and Roll band playing for the Fans, but I say they are much more than that. Glenn's vocals were a huge highlight of the show, Jason Bonham is a Kick Ass drummer, Joe Bonamassa what can I say, he is a Virtuoso and Derrick Sherinian is a true rock Star. his keys rounded out the epic sound and filled any void that might creep in. The material is reminiscent of Deep Purple, Led Zep, Thin Lizzy, The Chile Peppers with a heavy heaping of blues rock from Joe. This was a solid 2 hour show from the opener :Black Country to the closer: a searing rendition of Burn!!!!! They added Bonamassa's barn burner The Ballad of John Henry for good measure. 2 CD's in 16 months? This is a serious band not a rock star project. For all of us hard rock fans with a little road wear, let's hope they stay around for a few more cd's and plenty of live shows. I loved it!!!!!
