I have seen ZZ TOP in concert now 4 times over the last 25 years and they just blow me away every time. Lynyrd Skynyrd was Awesome as well. I actually live in El Paso, TX, but saw a once in a lifetime chance to take my 17 year old son, who plays guitar and is a HUGE ZZ TOP and Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, to see them in concert. He had a great time and even cried when Lynyrd Skynyrd closed their show with "Free Bird". He really liked Johnny as the lead singer, but he felt that "Free Bird" was the best touch as a closer for a tribute to Donnie. I am so glad that I was able to share this great experience of musical greats with my son before he graduates high school and leaves mom to go to college. There will NEVER be another band like ZZ TOP. THEY WERE GREAT!!

This was my girlfriends 2nd concert ever ! Took her to this concert cause she LOVES ZZ Top, an Lynard Skynard... BOOM, 19, an on The Upside she had heard, but did not know the band, she was glad to have seen them as well.. Shelton was her first concert in Meridian Mississippi, She would rather it been reversed, an ZZ Top an Lynard Skynard First ! FreeBird being Played Was Awesome to PLAy for us ! She was to have seen them in the 80's on HWy 45N. In Columbus ,MS, years ago..But they left early,before she got there.. WE had a BLAST in TUscaloosa, THANks Guys !!!

Both bands were excellent, as always! Even the first band, Cadillac Band was pretty good. There was not a big crowd, but that was because of the venue. Most people in Albuquerque do not like concerts at Tingley Coliseum. The sounds quality is poor. If it was held at one of the casino's, there would have been a much better turnout. I have seen both bands multiple times, and I know they bring in a good crowd each time - except for Tingley.

The venue sucks. Last show I attended at Tingley was Stevie Ray Vaughn the year before he died. I forgot how bad it was. I will pass on any show there from now on. However, Billy, Dusty and Frank were clearly having a good time and they put on a great show. Billy Gibbons is one great guitarist and Dusty is only a half step behind with 4 strings. Frank as usual kicks on the drums.

The venue sucked. Not many people there because of lack of advertising and holding it at Tingley. Acoustics are terrible, seating bad, $10 parking. Skynyrd did a short, pretty good set, looked like they were playing warm-up for ZZ top (which they were). ZZ Top was excellent; lots of old classics and some jamming. With the huge hall full of empty seats I'm surprised at the energy they displayed. Long, unexplained delay between bands.

Over all, the concert was good. see my comments on the opening act. Access to the venue was horrible and parking was outrageous, enough to prevent me from attending another function at this venue. There are dozens of access points to this venue and they used only one, while two events were going on at once and had to explain to each car where to go, tying up traffic. This was, after all, our "first impression" so it would have had to been a mind blowing concert to make it a good experience. Concessions were expensive and they were "out" of the only thing I wanted

Great Rock show. Talk about a bunch of classic rock songs. Lynyrd Skynyrd was great. Warmed the crowd up with Southern Rock. It went from a large band jamming out to ZZ Top. Just a guitar, a bass, and a Drummer. Without missing a beat they worked the crowd into a freenzy. I had not had the opportunity to see them before. It was well worth it. To watch these guys work was fantastic. They have been together for so long. It showed. Fantastic show. Simple good ol' rock and roll!!

The concert was amazing! When others are dancing in a manner that interferes with the overall enjoyment of the concert, they should be asked to leave or sit somewhere else. Good money is paid to see the bands. The venue was awesome & the bands were fantastic!

I thought Skynyrd was the headliner, but I guess it was the other way around. During Skynyrd's show, everyone was up, dancing, singing - they really rocked (as usual). This was my 3rd time seeing Skynyrd. When ZZ Top came on a lot of the crowd SAT down. Not a good sign! This is my 2nd time seeing ZZ Top and I found both times to be boring. There's only about 5 or 6 songs that got the crowd standing up & dancing, the rest of the show was just so-so. I thought their videos were stupid & boring. I'll go see Skynyrd as many times as they come nearby, hopefully with Kid Rock again!!!

What a hoot! Just watching these two bands play just like when I was back in high school was incredible. It was great fun watching people my age (49) singing along, dancing and bobbing their head. Guys in polo shirts were actually screaming. There were also a lot of younger people there who got a chance to see legends perform. Both groups were incredible. My only complaint was the sound was muffled. I couldn't understand a lot of what they said. I asked people around me if they could understand and they said they couldn't either. However, I don't know if it was their sound systems or the venue, Charleston Civic Center. As much as I hate to say this, it could be that the music is slightly too loud and it makes it muffled.

Lynyrd Skynyrd played a well selected set. The music was very loud for me. In my opinion, they would make their show more enjoyable if they realized their fan base is as old as they are and like music less loud than they did 20 years ago. ZZ Top showed humility. I really liked their actions and words between songs. The song selection was good but not great. Like Skynyrd, they were louder than necessary for an audience that ranged from 40-60 years old.

I have perhaps been to over a thousand concerts in my lifetime (classic rock, country, r&b, oldies, blues) and seen many bands/artists several times. I like all of them. However, if I had to pick one band that thrills & excites me the most....it would be Skynyrd. I have been in the front row for them about 8 times now, and they are incredible. Think about this....they have two songs that are arguably in the top 10 of all time in rock 'n roll history, and FREEBIRD would be considered #1 by most fans. There is no sound like the Skynyrd three guitar mix! Not only that you can visibly see that all the band members actually have FUN during their performances & mesh well together. Give me Johnny Van Zant, Rickey Medlocke, Gary Rossington & company, and I will see them anytime. Combine them with the legendary ZZ TOP & you've got double your listening pleasure!

It was dissapointing that a bill featuring two bands with repertoires this large wasted an hour with an un-signed "opening act" . Although the guy was really talented, he's not who I paid to see. The resulting shortened setlists for the headliners may save wear and tear on their sixty something bodies, but if you're gonna tour, I would like the entire show. Otherwise, both sets were just about what I expected from seeing both bands a few times through the years. Still great shows. Billy still lip-syncs Legs. Skynyrd still ends with FreeBird.

My wife and I had an incredible time watching and listening to two of the greatest bands to ever walk on to a stage. Both bands were energized and made the crowd feel the same. Two of the CD's that I have in my car CD system are Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top and their music sounds good but nothing can compare to live enterainment and the quality of the sounds put out by both bands. I am old enough to have been around when both bands started and I can say without a doubt that they are not getting older, they are getting better!!!! One word to describe the concert - WOW!!!!!

Maybe I've just been to too many concerts and can't hear anymore, but I was able to converse with my friends next to me too easily :) I also wished Lyn Skyn would have played longer... Have not been to concert since Farm Aid was in Austin TX. back in the eighties, it was great. The crowd was older and better acting (just like me). Their songs sounded great just like they did back when--yes back in the day. My wife bought me two shirts one with both band on the front with scheduling on the back and one that was ZZ only and that looked like it could have been the back of a motorcycle outlaws vest or jacket-cool.

We go to as many old school concerts as we can because soon they will not be playing anymore. Lynyrd Skynyrd was amazing as well. We saw them a couple of years ago in Corpus and they did a very similar show. They could change it up a bit but the sound was absolutely amazing and the energy for the age of the members is fabulous. I would go to both again!

That had to be one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Truly amazing. No synthesizers and lip syncing, these guys laid it out there and it was awesome!! I can't believe it wasn't a sold out show, not sure where all the rockers were, but their loss.
