Deafheaven

Deafheaven

DEAFHEAVEN IN CONCERT:Deafheaven merge the extreme sounds of black metal and shoegaze to create an aural onslaught guaranteed to blow ticket buyers away. Guitarist Kerry McCoy pours pure blood, sweat, and tears into his hellfire riffs and pummeling breakdowns before exposing an unexpected fragility with soothing instrumental interludes and shimmering ambient passages. These moments of calm lull audiences only briefly, before vocalist George Clarke unleashes his blood-curdling scream to ratchet the intensity back up to 10. Clarke dances around the stage on introspective and self-loathing anthems like “Sunbather”, “Dream House”, and “Unrequited”, while frenzied fans mosh along to the mayhem.

These guys are great. Esoterically only if your aren't close minded to, you can enjoy this.

Fantastic lineup, the sound quality was great. Venue is nice. I like it better than The Fillmore, it's a little more intimate. All 3 bands were great, but would've liked to see Deafheaven play a little longer, seemed to end early.

Wasn't expecting much, because usually with heavier bands the music sort of gets muddled together, but Deafheaven was fantastic. They literally sounded better live than their recordings and that is rare in their genre of music. Freakin' Amazing!

Deafheaven was amazing! Being so close to the front that George Clarke was screaming in my face was an unforgettable experience. The band seemed so down to earth (especially Kerry McCoy), shaking hands and highfiving everyone. I was so glad the venue was so small that I got to interact with the band.

If you were an astronaut and had Sunbather blasting in the space shuttle cockpit during your launch sequence, it still wouldn't be as exciting as seeing Deafheaven live. George Clarke is a hell of a performer and the rest of the band is flawless too.

Worst even I've attended since Lord of the Rings and that 1998 Avengers movie. ICP would have been better. Coldplay would have been better

Deafheaven played an amazing show with a lot of energy. The sound was clear. The crowd went nuts. Totally loved it and would recommend them highly! The opening acts, Tribulation and Envy, were also impressive.

They sounded perfect. Lighting set the mood well. Lead vocalist was very interactive. He got so close to the audience and made everyone feel each and every word. Best live act I've seen in a minute.

Deafheaven was, of course, fantastic. However, the venue was also absolutely amazing. The Taft Ballroom was clean, spacious, and well organized for this event. It just added that extra element that made this concert great.
