Styx was great even without Deyoung on vocals I'm a serious yes their new singer sings great but they need Jon Anderson.

Wow. I am a diehard Yes fan dating back to 1972. I really looked forward to seeing them again. But to have them on the same bill as Styx and Kansas was amazing. Throw in Greg Kihn (and his amazing son on lead) and this eveing was something very special. Combining Yes, Styx and Kansas on the same bill was magical. All are prog rock greats. All have monumental books of work and all have been rocking for a long long time. Yes played a couple of new tunes from Fly from Here which were refreshingly Yes. But to hear them play Starship Trooper, I've Seen All Good People, Roundabout, And You and I, Owner of a Loney Heart and other classics was very special. They are still amazing. And Styx is one hell of a rock and roll arena band that brought the house down. OMG they rock like they are in their 20s (they are a wee bit older). Amazing sound! Seeing Steve Howe (Yes), Tommy Shaw (Styx), Richard Willians (Kansas) and Greg Kihn all on the same evening was magical. The young gun Ax men out there can still learn something from these rockers. An Amazing show. Thanks to all!

This was the firt time I had seen a concert at this venue. What a treat! The grounds were well-kept and there were plenty of concessions open to provide food and drink to the concert-goers. We sat in our seats for the Styx portion of the concert. I have seen them over the years several times and as usual, I was NOT disappointed. The music was great. and the vocals were spot-on. They interacted with the audience and responded well to the audience "sing alongs" that come so readily with their more popular songs such as Renegade, Babe, and Sail Away. We walked outside to enjoy the skyline of the city (Philadelphia) while Yes was setting up. The evening was so gorgeous that we sat on the lawn to watch that portion of the show. Steve Howe is still awesome on guitar and was a delight to hear. To be perfectly honest though, the group is not the same vocally without Jon Anderson.

We were blessed enough to share the evening with our two young adult sons ...It's amazing how "Incredible Music" can cross over generation to generation...We loved the entire evening....and the house band was fantastic.....kudos to them and wish them much success. Thank You Styx ~ Thank You Yes

This is the 5th time I have seen Yes with Benoit David fronting. In the past four shows there was always at least one song, the hit home for me, and some shows there were multiple songs. A song that gave me goose bumps, that affected me emotionally, a year ago at the tower I had tears in my eyes when they played "Close to the Edge". Not this time around, the band played well, but did not connect with me at the level that Yes usually does. I was disappointed that only one song from the new album was played, but I guess the shortened set list, coupled with a new keyboard player limited the range of songs they could play. For me Yes is a different kind of band than others, more musically intent and less theatrically inclined; e.g. Styx makes a major investment in tossing guitar picks into the audience, while Yes does not. Don t get me wrong Styx was fine, first time I ever seen them live, they are very entertaining! But I prefer a more cerebral discourse of musical entertainment, longer sets, and of course with Yes longer songs. Yes had always been known, and accomplished at, longer, meaningful, orchestrated, and perhaps even a more mystical presentation of music , which sadly was missing for this show. I love of what I heard of the new album and would have appreciated hearing more.

Styx put on an excellent show.Music was tight ,precise and sounded great.Yes on the other hand was very disappointing.Only one song from Drama...Tempus Fugit. The new singer is a terrible replacement for Jon Anderson. It was actually painful listening to him sing everything out of key.Heart of the sunrise was a train wreck and total mistake.

I went more for Yes than Styx, but Styx put on the better show. Tommy Shaw was on fire on guitar and has a voice that has not changed since I saw the Cornerstone tour. Only real criticism is I would have liked to have heard Rockin the Paradise. "Dennis DeYounger" was spot on. Yes sounded a bit rusty overall, and I was bummed they did not play more than one song from either their new album or Drama (as Downes was on board). Best part of Yes was definitely Steve Howe, as usual. Benoit really missed the mark at several points and the "ending" of Heart of the Sunrise was painful to witness.

I had a chance to be with my girlfriend and go swimming, and have the last evening to spend together till next week while she goes for a girls' week down the Jersey Shore with her cousins. But Noooo, I took a free concert ticket to see Yes and Styx at the Sus Center tonight. A nice day at the pool might have given me confort for my debilitating back...but Nooo a took a free ticket to this concert, courtesy of my neighbors friend and his sister. Awesome and generous people, fun to be with. Which saved me from feeling worse from the awful performance from Yes. I saw Styx at the Spectrum in 79 (Pieces of EIght), and I thought this back was poor. But this time, WOW! Tommy Shaw and Co. Great show! A little corny at times, but pure energy. Then there was Yes. No. Sorry, I am comparing this to Jon Anderson and Rick. Not the same. Benoit tries to be a cover for Jon. Nope. Benoit came up short in lyrics. Benoit didn't have the Balls.....instead they were grabbed by the relic hippie dancing up and down the aisles. He was a bit light in the loafers. But he was more entertaining to watch than Yes. The summary....Styx was the highlight Yes....seen them about 30+ times since TFTO tour in 74. This is not Yes. Why did Steve Howe play and introduce Owner of a Lonely Heart when he was not on the record. Tim Broslin nailed every song in a short time for the Synphonic Tour. Benoit...Been with the band about how many years? Forgot what lyrics? Nice try. Probably borrrow the new album, but Yes is Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, ALan White (or Bill Bruford) and RIck Wakeman!

Yes is just not the same without Jon Anderson. Sorry guys, even with all the personnel changes over their 40-year history, Jon, Chris and Steve were the core of the group. Jon was replaced as the lead singer once before. Does anybody remember their album entitled "Drama"? It failed!! I have seen Yes at least 25 times over the years (including 5 consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden in the round) and I've seen this new version of Yes, it is NOT the same. I even had tickets for their 40 anniversary show at Hershey Park, but the concert was cancelled due to Jon's health. The spirit of Yes is gone. Yes was by far my favorite rock band. It is ashame that Yes is not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but Yes without Jon Anderton is like the Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger or Queen without Freddie Mercury or Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant or Aerosmith without Steven Tyler . . . it just does not work. True Yes fans will not enjoy this "new" version of Yes. Shame on Chris Squire and Steve Howe for leaving Jon when he was truly sick. Without Jon Anderson's voice in the late 70s and 80s, Yes would not be around today.

Somehow YES managed to find a voice that is virtually indistinguishable from one of the all time greats Jon Anderson. Sure, it would be great to have him back if he can regain what he lost. Anything less than his original form will not match up to the vocals of his replacement. It was a huge score finding this guy. Do not miss the opportunity to re-live this classic band. Steve Howe is truly one of a kind. NO ONE does what he can do with a guitar. He is as good as ever. I brought four of my friends to see them last year and they are all on board to see him again. Five Star performance. I wouldn't miss it. - CW

I've seen Yes in concert numerous times since 1972 and composed of its many differing personnel line ups. Most recently, I saw the band in 2009 with Benoit David taking over Jon Anderson's hallowed lead singer role and with Rick Wakeman's son Oliver on keyboards. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the concert as much as others, given I considered Jon's vocals and spiritual presence a key ingredient to the Yes sound and experience. But, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the band continue on with the slightly different influence Benoit brought to the group. Having heard the new single, Fly From Here, and other samples of the forthcoming CD with Benoit still at the lead singer helm, I'd highly recommend all Yes fans go see them this time around. Their new work, while different in some ways from the more traditional Yes sound, is simply outstanding. I predict" Fly From Here" will end up being considered amoung their best Yes music. Be part of that history! I suspect Yes is going to be making many new fans during this year's tour!

Saw both groups within past year; STYX was definitely good, still have their mojo going and were very entertaining but YES just isn't the same without Jon Anderson singing lead. I was very disappointed with their show and would not go to see them again unless Jon rejoined them - I WAS fortunate enough to see Jon perform his first show in several years (he was laid up with serious respiratory ailment/surgery for some time) and he is still just as good as ever, so one can just hope he may someday rejoin YES but in the meantime, unless you are a diehard STYX fan, I would have to give this a thumbs down.

I was there to see Yes. Styx opened and was much better than I expected. I may even go to see them again. Yes are still great musicians, but I was disappointed in the predictable set list. They played "Owner of a Lonely Heart" and only one song from their new CD and the rest were the same oldies you have heard for 40 years - they clearly are not even trying to get new fans. I paid $600.00, which included the meet and greet with Yes for me and my daughter. The M/G consisted of a staged photo with the band (from their camera - you had to download the photo later) followed by walking along a table where the band were seated as they autographed things for you. Very little opportunity to speak with the band. I asked Chris Squire about a bass guitar he used in the show which was not a Rickenbacker (his usual brand), and, without making eye contact with me, he snarled "I have more than one guitar." I will say that the band was cordial with my daughter (14 years old), and they all interacted with her, for which I was glad, especially when Steve Howe spoke with her for a little bit (she is a huge admirer of his). I give the concert a 4 star, but the M/G only a 2 star.

Loved loved loved them! Yes - great job by the sound alike new guy. Greg Kihn - reliably enjoyable as usual Kansas - what a disappointment, their new vocalist sounded like he belonged in a bad Guns n Roses cover band.

Beautiful night at the Greek. This was an awesome show and certainly appealing to music fans who really appreciate and enjoy rock music and what its allow about. From an era where quality musicianshipe and songs comes first and hype and cool is secondary. I have seen Styx several times. Alhough my heart was in this to see Yes, since I hadn't caugh a show from them in sometime, Styx was incredible. They just never seem to age and their shows are as strong, if not stronger, then ever. Many highlights from Styx during the evening. Suite Madame Blue is a GREAT concert tune. Although the power from Yes was missing at first, just because Styx put on such a strong show and really rocked it up, I really enjoyed the Yes' music. Incredible musicianship and some classic songs from a band that really set the standard for many years with progressions and creativity.Definitely a showto see.

Over 5 hours of music in one night! It was an amazing evening of music. Every Act is a star in there own right! Kansas did a 45 minute set of there hits! Dust In the Wind, Carry On My Wayward Son and many staples any Kansas fan would expect to hear. They are still in top form Steve Walsh still sounds amazing. My only complaint was the set was too short I wish they could have played for an hour and half like yes and Styx did. Yes was up next which was a bit of surprise to me as I truly expected them to be the headlining act. Yes was in top from and played many early classics, Long Distance Runaround, Yours in No Disgrace. The Current Yes line up sounds amazing and they have a really strong new album out Fly From Here and even played the title cut from the that disc. Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White, Geoffrey Downe's and David Benoit are the current lineup. The man core of yes is there and Geoffrey has returned to band for the first time since 1980. David Benoit does an amazing job of taking over for Jon Anderson. the Vocals are strong and tight and his performance was amazing. Hats off to David for doing such an amazing job of filling Jon's spot in the band. The performance was powerful and energetic. They are still an act to be reckoned with! It was the first time for me to see Styx. I was familiar with the music but never a big fan. But I must admit the show was very powerful and full of energy. Seeing them live just made you realized how many great songs they and what great performers they truly are on stage. Needless to say I was amazed by the performance and musicianship of the band and the show was amazing. After seeing that show I think I am hooked I will definitely be adding some of their music to my collection now!

Styx knows how to play a show, they are dynamic. Yes is a bit overproduced, but it was my first time seeing them. Kansas, is quite entertaining. Greg Kihn, I know the band (saw them play 1980). Their sound was over modulated, the band can sound a lot better.

Never seen any of these bands, except Greg Kihn who plays at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk every summer. I was around when these bands were in their heyday, and I got into progressive rock by college roomates etc, but I'm more of a jazz guy. 50 years later, he music was better than the recordings! The musical understanding, blending of instrumental voices, coloration, and massive solos (especially Steve Howe) made for a peak musical experience. But even more impressive was that the Amphitheatre transformed into a time machine transporting me back in time 50 years. Memories, and associated feelings I had when this music was originally released, came back, and I was 18 again. How awesome is that!

I went to this concert specifically to see Yes, a group I've loved since the 70s. Unfortunately, most of their show was extremely disappointing. They played the right songs, but it was as if the conversation they had before the show went, "Here's an idea, blokes---let's play all our high-energy songs at two-thirds regular tempo." SO frustrating to listen to! Styx, on the other hand, which is a band I like but don't love, put all the energy into their songs that Yes so badly lacked.

Overall, the show was a great lineup of classic progressive rock legends. Kansas surprised the audience with their precision, Yes was uneven, and Styx were an unforgettable experience. I was very disappointed, though, that the big screens were not working, and you couldn't see the musicians, even from the seat sections. Plus, I do not know why the Shoreline tolerates cigarette smoking at the venue. It is clearly a health risk, and degrades the experience for everyone.

As the title stated. The mixes were off showing the sound checks were ineffectual or a waste of time. STYX sound was horrible. Volume over clarity. Yes's vocal mix was horrid in some parts. The video of the artists was so out of sync they should not have bothered. Not to mention the food and drinks prices shows nothing but contempt for the guests. This is quite typical of Shoreline. Greg Kihn did a good job this year, (stay on key, unlike last year). Kansas started out a little off, but got tighter as the set went on. They just play their hits a little Slower than they used to. Yes was Spot On! All original members in attendance. Jon Anderson hit the same high notes as he did when I saw him at the SF Cow Palace in 1976. Incredible voice. Never seen Styx before, but I would definitively go see them again. What an incredible group of Talent. 3 different singers. 2 lead guitarists. Awesome. They kept the same tempo as the studio versions and hit all those high notes as well. We usually start looking at our watches halfway through the last band, but we stayed through the encores right to the end of this concert. It was a Great Night!

I have been attending Yes concerts for more than 30 years and I am always amazed by their live performances. I am very happy that they have a new CD out and I commend them for their resilience and endurance through the years and various lineups. I do however think that their instrumental sounds were not always balanced that night and that probably was more the sound engineer's job. It was fun to hear songs from Styx which I haven't listen to for some time. I have been along time fan of YES, where do I start? The drummer(Alan White) seemed tired he is nothing like Bill Bruford, the keyboard (Geoff Downs) was ok but nothing like Wakeman who is outstanding, Chris Squire is always fun to watch,Steve Howe is always a fantastic guitar player,Benoit David..if he can't sing the high notes which he couldn't that night of the concert,he shouldn't try to sing the songs that are too high form because it destroys the music from the past. I thought that they would play more than one song from the new CD. YES is not the YES I knew from the past the music didn't move me it was just music without the orignal band member.

Styx and Yes played most of their hits. Both bands played very well. Thanks to the Greek Amphitheater being much smaller than a stadium or the Bowl (and we had decent seats in the mid-section), we could see the performers pretty well (I also appreciate that the Greek lets people take pictures). I like how Styx played to the audience and were having fun -- the players would sometimes pose for photos (for folks in the front) while playing. 4 stars, because the voices sometimes lacked the strength of past youth (e.g. Styx's Miss America). It was exciting that Styx had their original bass player, Chuck Panozzo, for several of the songs. Gowan was terrific on keyboards (quite the showman), but I wish the band could get through their differences and have DeYoung back to perform some pieces for a reunion tour (they omitted their #1 hit, Babe). For Yes, David's voice in very similar to Anderson's (the original and long time lead singer) and he did very well... but I still would like to hear the original (if he still has his voice). It was a pleasure to hear the musicianship of Steve Howe (wow!), bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White. Aside from my nitpicking, this was a terrific show and I'm very happy I was there to hear these great bands.

MUTANTPRESS
Ok, let me preface this review by stating that this was the 17th time I have seen YES in concert, and the sixth time for Styx. Part of me was pleased beyond belief that these two powerhouse groups were on tour together, but I was hoping they would have jammed on stage at the end of the show. The warm up act featuring Shane Alexander was perfunctory, but I had also hoped they would have picked a progressive singer like Neal Morse. Styx owned the stage, and played their strongest material; songs like Lady, Come Sail Away, Working Man, Grand Illusion, Miss America, etc. They are the tightest progressive American band on the circuit today, and their showmanship is impeccable. Yes is in my top three favorite list, along with ELP and Genesis. I own nearly every album or CD, plus box sets, live DVD s and a signed copy of Tales from Topographical Oceans. So if I seem critical here, it is because I have been a fan for almost 40 years. The addition of Geoff Downes on keyboards was disappointing, specifically on Starship Trooper. That song has a wonderful keyboard solo that Wakeman Junior and Senior pull of with abloom, as do many of the other keyboard maestros in the Yes legacy. Mr. Downes was left wanting. Likewise, I get the feeling that Alan White is tired of touring. He is able, precise, and knows the tunes, but the fire is just not there like it used to be. Steve Howe and Chris Squire are still at the top of their game, and I like Benoit David as the current lead singer. But the set list needs to be re-worked. Please play something from Tales, Relayer or Keys to Ascension. I love the Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge, but there is so much more material that never gets played live. That is the true beauty of Yes, not the line up per say, as that changes over the decades, but the music itself. Yes has a rich lexicon of masterful progressive works that are truly mystical in nature, and these need to be shared with a live audience.

We missed Greg (sorry work takes priority) We just arrived as Kansas took the stage. Kansas gave us all they had! Yes I must say was extremely impressive (give the age or the original members). They missed a bit here and again, but to see that group of men play as well as they did was a true honor! Alan White, Chris Squire, Geoff Downes, Steve Howe and Benoît David were awesome to see again! Chris and Steve are still the masters! Benoît on the older stuff was a bit off, but he nailed 90125 era! Styx, need I say more? Tommy Shaw, James JY Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman, Ricky Phillips and Chuck Panozzo ROCKED THE HOUSE! Ending on Renegade was a bit harsh, left me so high on energy I took a bit to settle down!

I really went to see Styxs - I saw them on the Paradise tour, and thought they were awesome then - and knew that they would still be good, but they knocked it far beyond what I thought. My husband had never seen them, and he said it was better than he ever imagined! We were 12 rows back, and great seats I felt like they were playing just for me!!! I was bummed when Styx left the stage. I was bummed that I hadn't gone up to the stage for closer photos.... next time! Yes came on - I thought how are they going to meet that??? Well, in no time we were on our feet enjoying all the oldies. I moved up to the stage and got some GREAT close up shots to always remember. Benoît David did an awesome job hitting all the notes - sounded like the recordings I remember in the 70's. I haven't been a YES fan, but this concert made me one!!!! Well done! Great venue!

Really didn't expect them to be as good as they were. I don't own one single Styx album, yet I found myself singing every hit they played at the top of my lungs. I have already visited my favorite music site and downloaded 6 songs for starters.Lead singers nailed the notes, and rocked the audience into a screaming and cheering frenzy from beginning to end. So glad I got to see them for a first time. Yes, Yes, Yes!! On my way there I realized the last time I saw them was 35 years ago at MSG. I was like wow, do you think these guys still have it? Well, the old dudes (counting us) impressed me and my highly critical buddy big time. While the absence of Jon Anderson was of a concern, his substitute, Benoit carried the load nicely, but it was Chris and Steve that I enjoyed watching most of all. Geoff Downes on keyboards also delivered, and the unigue sound of Yes rang true and clear thoughout this great venue. Bottom line they nailed all the songs the way you wanted to hear them. Guitar and Bass impressed most of all. I will not wait another 35 years to see them again, and will make sure to go to every show that comes through our area. Their repetoire of great songs is huge, and I hope to hear more of them next time.

Both bands were great , however Styx sounded amazing and had tons of energy and enthusiam. It is obvious that these artists love what they do! I saw Styx back in the late 70's playing only a few songs. They just seem to get better and better! Tommy Shaw looks the same! I will try to attend another one of their concerts in the near future! They are worth a trip to go see!

The Experience at Jones Beach was Wonderful. It was a Great night had loads of fun. Both Bands were on top of there Game. The week before I went to PNC Arts Center and that was Terrible the people were rude and made my experience there a nightmare I will never go see anyone at PNC again when I asked for help with two rude people they just said that they were allowed to stand in my face the whole concert and to top it off we were 4 row no need to stand the whole time they were in 3rd and I spent good money $285.00 to be exact and that was just my ticket my husband paided the same to not even see. I always recommend Jones Beach people are cool and fun. PNC People are Rude and nasty. What's even sadder is that I lost all that money.

For STYX fans this is the show to see. Every song that you remember was played. The replacement keyboardist for Dennis DeYoung is totally in his element and definitely just as good - or even better. YES proved that things improve with age. These inventors of the "Prog Rock" genre can still get out there and rock with the best of them. They played tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and from their new album "Fly From Here". YES wrote most of the of soundtrack to my my life and it was a fantastic trip down memory lane. Geoff Downes reunites with YES for their latest album and this tour. I was a little hesitant about the new singer (I mean afterall how can you replace Jon Anderson) before the show, but by the end I was totally convinced that he belongs.

I'm a longtime YES fan and enjoyed their outing tonight as much as I've enjoyed any show of the past. YES ran through all their standbys with great aplomb. Steve Howe introducing the "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" Rabin-work was kind of a mild shock. They ended with "Roundabout" and then "Starship Trooper," which blew the walls out of the place. I've liked Styx from the past, but had never seen them live. Wow, what a revelation! They opened up with "Blue Collar Man" and set the place on fire! Tommy Shaw sounds as good as he did 20 years ago! He's still belting out the Styx catalog like it was yesterday! Glad I stayed for the Styx part of the show, it was pretty freakin tremendous!

Freedom rang with Styx, but not so much with Yes. With the show being presented by local radio station WMGK, things started off a little bumpy with the introduction of our men and women in Red, White, and Blue, some other announcements that didn't go off as planned. Which lead into our opener from California, a solo acoustic set from Shane Alexander. Styx came on around 7:30 and rocked the house. Playing favorites, radio hits, and classics (All songs can be found on Styx Greatest Hits (1995)). Very energetic, patriotic, and all in all, an awesome show. Yes came on around 9:30 and played a somewhat disappointing set list (for me), Yes performed all the standard classics, plus Tempus Fugit from the 1980 Drama album, and an edited version of Fly From Here from their upcoming album of the same name. Although Benoit David's voice gave out a dozen times, the later half of the show was fantastic. I just wish they would perform more current songs........but I'm sure to appease their loyal fans of the "classic" line up, that will never happen. Minor bone to pick - being July 4th I thought Yes performed America! (I know they're all Brits and a Canadian, but still.......)

For all those Yes fans that didn't go to this concert for whatever reason, you all sure missed seeing Yes flying high with another great performance by still the most amazing 'progressive' rock band ever! Yes has been revitalized with the return of Geoff Downes at the keyboards position in the band's ever changing lineup, and now not so new singer Benoit David performed spectacularly in the lead vocalist spot. Long-time fans know Geoff from the band's Drama album days, one of Yes' most under appreciated and great recordings with Tevor Horn as Yes' lead vocalist at the time. I love the classic line up with Jon Anderson's unmistakeably mystical voice and Rick Wakeman's amazing keyboard playing. But, Yes' musical brilliance has shown through many of its other lineups too. The current band with sole original member Chris Squire (bass/vocals), long-time members Steve Howe (guitars/vocals) and Alan White (drums), returning member Geoff Downes (keyboards), and relatively new member Benoit David (lead vocals) are shaping up to be another Classic version of the band. Their new CD 'Fly From Here' is inspiring, and they put on a fantastic performance this night that brought me and the rest of their fans to our feet yelling "YES" after each song. The sound was crystal clear, the harmonies between Chris and Benoit even better than with Jon, Steve's guitar work was brilliant as ever, and the band showed it was having the time of their lives. Styx put on quite the rock 'n roll show, and Kansas played wonderfully too, but Yes' performance struck that note of musical magic inside this Yes fan-atic that only they can do. I'm so glad I made the effort to see them, traveling to the Shoreline from Folsom outside Sacramento. Yes still ROCKS ya'll!!!!!

A reasonable price for a ticket to two legendary bands. Although not a big Styx fan, they were great and played a great set showcasing all of their hits, of course. The big draw for me was Yes, and I was a bit disappointed in that they played far less than they could have, given the magnitude of their career. I also felt that they were a bit sloppy/lazy in their presentation, perhaps their hearts were not quite into it this particular show? Having said that, I did virtually have a front row seat, and it was cool seeing these legends up close. Jon Anderson wasn't there which was disappointing of course, but his replacement does as well as he can, which isn't too bad. To sum up, great seats, reasonable price, would have enjoyed to hear Yes play for more than 75 minutes!

I went solely to see Yes and they were wonderful! All 5 of them! A joy to hear Tempus Fugit which is only played without Jon Anderson which is never. Wonderful to have Geoff on the keyboards as he was for that song oriiginally . Chris and Steve are awesome together. Alan has been consistent since 74. Styx however was un unexpected treat with such great energy and a great setlist that included "Suite Madam Blue" which I have never seen before. Both groups had great lights and screen shows. A true delight to see both!

The concert was great! It was the first time that we had seen Greg Kihn, Yes and Kansas and we were impressed by all of them. We have seen Styx before and they get better each time that we see them! I will definitely see these bands again the next time they are in my area.... we had to drive 4 1/2 hours each way to see them so it was a long ways to go but well worth the 9 hour drive in the end!!!! We were told that this was the last show that Yes was going to be with Styx so we are glad that we got to them all together!

Unfortunately didn't arrive on-time to see the Greg Kihn Band, but...Kansas, Yes and Styx brought back some great memories. I'm 56 and when I asked my 16 yr old son which set he like the best, he immediately said Kansas. I personally liked Yes best, although there was some keyboard "glitches" on a couple of songs. Styx was the closing act on this night and they were very tight (nearly mistake-free) with Come Sail Away and Lady the most memorable songs. The best part was decent seats for $25 each!!!

Great to see two super groups get together. My first time seeing Styx and was blowen away. They still rock hard and having the original bass play appear as a special guest was awesome! Being a big Yes fan, I was very pleased with the outcome of this performance. It was great to see Chris Squire was in good form and his bass sounded exceptional. Steve Howe pulled it off again with his stelar guitar performances. Geoff Downs was a great replacement for the keyboard spot and you can tell he felt right at home, pulling off all the right riffs in all the right places. Alan White on drums held his own but that was about it. No surprises from Alan, as he seems to not have that driving force that he has been notorios for in the past. David on vocals is a fair replacement but no one will ever be able to replace the one and only Jon Anderson. All in all great show !

I've often felt bothered that Yes's sound was poorly mixed. Various fans have told me that this is the "price" of sitting near the stage. Last year I saw Yes with Peter Frampton. Frampton's show was A+, while Yes was C-. The sound from Frampton's set was perfect. Not the case for Yes. This year, my position was reaffirmed. Styx gave a brilliant performance of some of their greatest songs. The sound was mixed perfectly. Then Yes took the stage and gave a sluggish performance mired by a swamp of bass poorly mixed over the keys and guitar, perhaps intentionally so it might drown out the less-than-prime-time skills that would draw my $100 for each of my 4 seats. To my Yes friends: It's not my seats, and it's not the Greek. It's Yes.

All the groups were great, even though Yes was not one of my favorites growing up. Styx played a little too much of the songs you hear on the radio, but were still a blast from the past! I had never seen any of the three headliners in concert before, but had always wished for Styx and Kansas...this was a great lineup and now I only have to see Steely Dan to round out my lifelong wish list...of course, if this lineup comes again, I would love to be in "shadows of the 14th row" again!!!! If you have Styx again, suggest they play "Boat on a River" please...It brings back a memory of going to see my 1st true love via a 17 hour train trip through the western mountains.... Thanks for letting me review this concert!!

Both bands were excellent examples of seasoned, professional, accomplished musicians that have honed their craft and have stood the test of time. Tommy Shaw was the standout performer of the night; his voice was incredible, his stage presence and showmanship were stellar and the band's harmonies were simply amazing...I'd highly recommend seeing them to anyone who hasn't yet...they still can kick ass and take names! Yes has been a favorite of mine since high school, and they continue to show why they are one of the top acts in the business. Their new singer, Benoit David, sang the classics as well or better than Jon Anderson ever did, his voice was clear and powerful and he proved himself a suitable replacement. I missed the keyboard wizardry of Rick Wakeman; Geoff Downs is a good keyboardist but simply doesn't have the lead chops of Wakeman or Moraz and I missed those killer solos that characterized Yes during the Wakeman years. Steve Howe still proves why he was called "the worlds most versitile guitar player" for so many years; his playing was brilliant and polished. Squire and White are still the "pulsemasters" driving the music with an intensity that sets them apart from the competition. Yes is always a good bet for a concert filled with professionalism and wonderful music. This was a very good combination of bands for those who love classic progressive rock.

Styx was on fire as usual. Best I've seen them in five or six shows, and their always on it. Yes was a sorry disappointment. They used to be impeccable. Most of the notes were there but there was no life in the show and the tempos were all slowed down. Physically they were an embarassment anyone over 50. Maybe that's why Jon Anderson isn't on the tour, the replacement singer was a weak parody.

First time seeing Styx, 7th time seeing Yes: Styx in their current lineup did justice to their catalog, performing crisp renditions of several classics, opening with "Blue Collar Man" and closing with "Come Sail Away". A surprise appearance by band co-founder and bass player Chuck Panozzo was included. The band played enthusiastically, sticking close to the studio arrangements of their works. All in all an enjoyable outing for a band that was in its prime 30 years ago. Yes is now down to only three of the "classic" Yes members (Howe, Squire, White), but did justice to their music with the help of Geoff Downes back on keyboards and Benoit David on vocals (sounding remarkably like Jon Anderson, if not as strong vocally - he may have just had a bad night). Much to my surprise, they have a new album out with this lineup and included one of the new songs in their set. Downes is competent on keyboards, if not as flashy as Rick Wakeman. My friend who i just introduced to Yes a couple of weeks ago was suitably impressed at their musicianship, particularly by Steve Howe's consistently amazing guitar work.

Both acts were fabulous! Styx had amazing energy and had us up out of our seats, singing along the entire set. Loved the revolving keyboard! The transition of sets from Styx to Yes was very quick. Yes put on a brilliant show; they are master musicians. Benoit David as the new lead singer is a great addition. Would definitely see both acts again. The only disappointment was that they did not play "Leave It." Meet and greet with Yes was very organized so everyone was able to get pictues with the band and autographs. The show was definitely worth the money. I would see both acts again. The Greek is a GREAT venue for a show.

Styx rocked it from the first song. Great energy and the audience was moving and grooving to every song. Yes was great too...though it has always more of a 'listening to' type band where the audience doesn't stand much, etc. It's funny watching Yes walk on the stage and you see a few old men...then they just rock it non-stop, especially Steve Howe. He looked pretty frail, but he played better than I've ever seen him play. He is still a stunning player and rocked it for the whole set, never letting up. Seems like most people thought that the two bands should have been switched around in order, YES should have opened and then Styx since they were the more lively ones. I pretty much agree, though meaning no disrespect to the members of Yes... Oh, the sound mix for Yes was HORRID most of the time. Seemed like the house mixer liked to move faders a lot and then forgot where he put them. Various instruments would be ducked out and then they had a solo and they were still ducked out, etc. I'm a professional Post Sound mixer and I can tell u that the house mixer was very inexperienced or pretty drunk. The house mixer for Styx was phenomenal. OVERALL: Really glad I went and had a lot of fun at the concert. The greek theatre is a great place to see nice concerts such as this one. Though the parking is a challenge at this venue...a great and very dusty challenge.

Styx was rockin the house and if you can get out to see them you should.
I came to show specifically to see Yes. I like the Styx too, but Yes was what I paid to see. I was disappointed that the Styx took up most of the show, leaving Yes feeling a little rushed on stage. If the show could've gone on till 1130, that would have been awesome.
Styx opened and were pretty good but thevocals were a bit weak. Not sure if it was a mixing issue or if the just can't quite get up to the right level. Overall a good show. Yes was fantastic. They nailed just about every song from their Classics best of CD.
Styx played well did all their hits except MR Roboto, very disappointed that this song was the one which won them a lot of popularity. Yes was good, it sounded like they were jamming and as talented as they are they just couldn't pull it off because the lead singer was not Jon Anderson. He is the heart and soul and energy of Yes without him they could just be another tribute band. I have been a Yes fan since they first started. Steve Howe is still my favorite guitar player. But when can you say enough is enough. One other thing that piised me off is that they wouldn't let you bring in cameras yet you ask for photos and videos. I guess if I did have a ST.Michell Winery bag Icould have brought in anything. Very bogus.
I went mainly to see Yes (Styx was great also - I was a bit surprised by this) and I also saw Yes last year - and the improvement in the singing and the music was tremendous! It's not Jon Anderson but its somewhat close - Jon's singing is a bit softer - especially in Heart of the Sunrise but Benoit David is no slouch. He seems much more comfortable and I think he did a fantastic job at this concert!
I have seen Yes 3 times in the last 3 years and this was their weakest performance. They missed Rick Wakeman's son on the keyboards, Geoff Downes had trouble hitting all the notes. Styx was great, Tommy Shaw sounded terrific, his voice and guitar playing were spot on. Man In The Wilderness was terrific, great playing by all members of Styx.
The venue was awesome. The bands did not disappoint. The weather perfect. I would have paid twice that amount to see two acts as good and with as much class as styx and yes.
I went for YES and ended up loving Styx. Styx was really rockin' out. Seemed way more alive than YES, and I am a huge fan of YES. The new lead singer for YES is quite amazing, I must say however. He was a total sound-alike to Jon Anderson. The rest of the band, with the exception of Alan White, seemed like they were just going through the motions. A bit of a disappointment from prior shows. All-in-all, a real good time with the exception of the 40-50 age drunks sitting next to us that talked throughout the entire show. What's the deal with that?
First time at the Winery. The venue is OUTSTANDING! The sound is great, the food is great, the overall atmosphere is great. Styx was MUCH better than I had anticipated! Lots of energy and great song choices! I really got the impression that they were having a good time and consequentley everyone else had a good time too! Yes was a little disappointing. The band seemed a little tired which was a bit surprising because Alan White lives in the area and I expected the band to be energized if for no other reason than that. Yes was a GREAT album rock band and I have been a fan since the "Yes Album" was released in 1971. I had never seen them in concert so, for me, expectations were probably too high. In my opinion Styx stole the show.
Just as I remember them from my high school days! Band gets 5 stars. St. Michele for this event, 2 stars. Parking attendants didn't have it all together and the wine shop no longer sells bottle openers? What's that all about? Sorry, the 5 openers attached to one table don't cut it when you have 1000 people all trying to open bottles of wine you sold them...
A marvelous afternoon of sunshine and wine with Tommie Shaw and JY gave way to sunset with Yes, still the greatest virtuosos of progressive rock. Steve Howe looks nearly his age, but retains all his musical powers. Chris Squire's huge clacking bass made for a memorable "Heart of the Sunrise", and his vocals were greatly improved from his 2008 visit, when he didn't seem to hear very well. Poor David Benoit: Introduced to the most tepid of applause, the young man went on to sing like an angel, but the more he sounded like Jon Anderson, the more we missed Jon... Geoff Downes has rejoined as keyboardist, and though he lacks Wakeman's blistering chops, he is a formidable musician in his own right, and his voice was most welcome on the songs from his era, notably "Owner of a Lonely Heart". All in all, a delightful romp through the songs of another age, and my apologies to those around me; I really couldn't help singing along!
I had never seen Styx. They were super. All the old tunes by the various singers were a delight. YES was in truly great form. My 5th time to see them, and although I wish they bad played longer, all their classics were performed. Their sound was full and symphonic, truly the YES experience. Benoit David has enabled them to keep playing and I hope that they can keep the music going for decades. YES is still the best!
This was an exceptional concert! These two bands are great together! They each put on a great show and sound spot-on. They each are fun to watch, in addition to listening to them ROCK!
The show was as Hot as the Weather. Both Styk and Yes game to play with their "A" game. Styk came out and played songs from each album and set the tone for a great night of music. Tommy Shaw was on his game! Yes started us on a trip that started with mind melting rock and soon cranked up the Hits and left us all standing remembering 35 years ago felt just like tonight with Round About! Great Show!! ps, The staff at the Winery is outstanding!!
I went mostly to see Yes but I think Styx was better. Styx had a better set list, Yes started with 3 pretty much the same sounding songs, once they started getting good it was over. I wish the Winery would enforce thier policy of people dancing in the middle of the lawn, Its OK when everybody is standing or dancing, but you get a few "Its all about me" people that ruin parts of the show, Also They need to enforce the lawn chair height requirements, there were 2 beople way up front in regular height chairs.
Styx brought me to tears with their fantastic music. They sound just as lively and fantastic as they did many decades ago. This band has not lost its talent. My only complaint is they didn't play long enough. They have far too many songs that I enjoy.
Being a long-time fan of both STYX and YES (with a definite preference for STYX), I was very impressed with both groups. The musicianship on display was incredible. Given that the original members don't fully make up the groups, one would think that the sound on display would lack from the memories of the recordings. With both bands, this is not the case. STYX was in high form playing many of it's top hits including "Lorelei", "Lady", "Grand Illusion" and the crowd favorite "Come Sail Away." The vocals were superb and the volume mix was outstanding. Sad to say however, that this was not quite the case with YES. I felt that the bass was too loud and it actually gave me a headache (and I had to put in my earplugs for YES). Being a choir teacher for over 20 years has given me a high appreciation of balance. Perhaps this favoritism to the bass was due to Chris Squire being the only band member that has stuck with the group throughout. I would have to say though that I was very much impressed with Benoît David's performance on lead vocals for YES. One would think that nobody could come up to the vocal extravagance of Jon Anderson, but Mr. David's performance was overwhelming. He's got a voice that absolutely does justice to the music of YES and I for one, did not find the absence of Jon Anderson to actually matter. Mr. David definitely got another fan. Major props to both groups.
