I have been waiting for several years to see Avenue Q, and the production exceeded my expectations. The cast and settings were wonderful. The venue is excellent, easy to drive into and out of. I love pocket-size theaters like this.

My 12-year-old daughter and I went to the show on Sunday. It was so funny. The audience was roaring with laughter. The cast was energetic and funny. The venue is very nice. We came all the way from Jupiter, but it was well worth it.

This show is an absolute riot! The subject matter covers many relevant issues facing humankind... past, present and future... but in a humorous way. Besides being extremely funny, the sheer range of talent of these actors is incredible!! They are working puppets as well as moving alongside in sync... delivering lines in several different voices... sometimes portraying two puppet voices in the same scene... giving believable performances as they run the range of emotion... and displaying excellent vocal talent as they sing the fabulous score. Definitely not for kids... but certainly a great night out for adults!!

I really did not know what to expect. Especially since you can see the Muppets handlers. But it works even better that way, because the handlers movements reinforces those of the Muppets. This is not a kids show but it is a very good time. I highly recommend it!

I definately recommend it for anyone who loves to laugh. It certainly is a little different from most of the other broadway musicals out there featuring songs like "The Internet is for Porn" and "You can be as loud as the hell you want when you're making love". I recommend atleast age 16 or over due to some questionable topics covered in the play. However, go see it, it's worth it.

3 words! Wonderful, Spectacular, and Hilarious! My boyfriend told me about this show. At first I just thought it was just going to be anouther stupid comedy. But boy was I ever wrong! I went to the Scranton Cultural Center it was so pretty! The Staff was nice to tell us when the show was going to start, and they even directed us to our seats. They had a food stand for 15 minutes for when the cast took a brake. Not to mention the seats were comfortable. The play was so Hilarious that I just could not stop laughing non stop! The puppets were the best ever especially Trekie Monster he was hilarious! I had a wonderful experience for this play and will never forget it!

This was an amazing show. I have been a big fan of the music for so long. I am glad I could finally get to see the show. The cast were increcible. Although, they are not from the Broadway show, you will get just as good of a performance. They were top dollar actors and I didn't have to break the bank to see it! The only thing to complain about would be the sound system. The mics cut out quite a few times, but the actors did a fine job of projecting. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!

I had heard some of the songs before through the wonders of YouTube and always wanted to go see the play. I was not disappointed. The play was hilarious. I never did quite get over just watching the puppets and not the performers. But that did not detract from the performance as a whole and the frank statements that were so humorously and effectively presented to the audience. We are really a little bit racist and, yes, people, the internet is much used for porn! But it also touched on the real-life struggles of everyday people- people struggling with finances, with their sexual identity, with their past, with their purpose. The staging and singing were enjoyable and entertaining. If you didn't expect the topics that emerged and are on the conservative side, you may have been quivering in your seats. But that's real life and you shouldn't have been there to begin with. Overall, it was a worthwhile evening of entertainment that you should not miss!

The show Thursday evening was great! It harbored great voices and fantastic comedy. It was the perfect show to take your mind off of everything that could be stressing you. What a wonderful show! From the first moment when you hear the Theme, to the last note of the show, you will thouroughly enjoy yourself. This show is definitely not recommended for children, so if you are thinking about taking yours I would say don't. The music is infectious, and the story line familiar. The Characters are all partially based on those you would find on Sesame Street, but with the problems every 20-something in the Country has been through. This show has a extremely talented cast. Every note is well sung, and the lines are delivered with perfect comic timing. Definitely a don't miss!

Not for the faint of heart, Avenue Q's singing puppets force the audience to confront their own views on a variety of tough social issues like racism, homosexuality, and religion. "Everybody's a little bit racist," is a great song and a reality check for most. "It's OK if your gay, but I'm not," shows how far we've come to accept homosexuality and the miles we still have to go. Be prepared for the full-frontal puppet nudity. This show is a blast. It's funny, shocking, and thought-provoking. Be prepared for a post-show analysis with your friends. I only wish I got better seats so that I could hear the show's dialogue and lyrics more clearly. You'll never look at Sesame Street the same way again.

Really enjoyed the show...has lots of good messages presented in a funny irreverent way. Loved the opening "It Sucks To Be Me" and closing number "It's Only For Now." Only criticism I have is that some of the dialogue and some of the lyrics were not understandable from where I sat....Orch H-1 on the aisle...and I had only listened to the CD of the show once before seeing it live.

The Show is a great parody of Sesame Street for Adults & Teens. (There is Adult Content) The puppets make the show! If you are into Heavy Choreography this might not be the show for you but if you like the comedy part of musical-comedies you'll love the show!!! I'm sad that the Broadway show is ending This September (2009) =(.

Great CATCO production. A fun evening or afternoon in the theater. If you've seen a previous touring production of "Avenue Q" at on of the big theaters and are concerned that this black box production might be lacking you would be absolutely wrong. "Avenue Q" was originally designed to play a smaller venue and the Riffe Center Studio One is perfect. There is a sense of being drawn into the show which comes from a smaller theater and "Q"is a show that works so well when the audience is involved. The cast is excellent and it would be unfair to try and find a standout. So give them your money (buy a ticket), get ready to laugh (a lot), and meet new friends "here on Avenue Q". Warning (if necessary) this show is absolutely NOT for kids.

I had so much fun at Avenue Q that I wish I'd seen it earlier than its final performance so that I could have seen it more than once. Everyone was fantastic. I found myself watching the puppets' faces more than the actors' faces. Even though they were not changeable faces, I believed that I saw different emotions played out on them. Bravo to everyone involved in the production!

I had not seen this show before and it was fantastic! What amazed me was how brilliant the intimacy of the theatre worked with the show itself. I enjoyed the use of the TV's on the sides to punctuate the show and the dialogue was hilarious! There were lots of irreverent remarks and gestures/action but wrapped inside a meaningful plot about finding your purpose in life. The puppets were well done and the actors who voiced them or manipulated them did not detract from the character of the puppet. I had a great evening of laughter at this show - artistically it was clean and well-timed.

A play for the adult who is a kid at heart with a good sense of humor who also doesn't mind a bit of raunchiness displayed. The puppets are beyond funny and the actors delivering the lines are hysterical. Songs such as "If you were gay" and "Everyone's a little bit racist" had us belly laughing in our seats. This play is light hearted and great for all audience members.

CATCO's presentation of Avenue Q was superb! There were lots of catchy tunes with funny and/or heartfelt lyrics. The cast did an excellent job, especially the four members who handled all the puppets, sometimes two at a time. Carmen Keels ( Kate/Lucy) was outstanding! The show also had some good messages and showed a lot of our human foibles in a humorous way.

This production of Avenue Q was fabulous. I had seen it previously on Broadway and found nothing to complain about in comparing this with the original. Carmen Keels was so appealing as Kate Monster and Cody Shope showed his versatility in switching between his two characters to make each one distinctively different. The supporting cast, especially Patrick Walters as Brian, were all great fun to watch and laugh with. There were too many outstanding numbers to name just one or two. The set was great, especially the small TVs on either side of the set, which brought back the idea that this is Sesame Street for adults. Steven Anderson's direction, as always, was spot on. The Riffe Center's intimate setting was ideal. I attended this show with my son, who is 20. We were both able to laugh and enjoy the ribald humor. This production is so much fun. It will leave you laughing and humming all the way to your car.

Having seen the national touring company version of Ave Q when it came to Columbus, I have to say that CATCO's version is every bit as good and even better in terms of the venue. The smaller theater gives it a more intimate cabaret-like feel, and the amount of talent and energy that went into this show gave it an air of excitement that I didn't get from the road company version. Enough of comparisons, though. Kudos to Puppetmaster Beth Kattelman for creating the terrific puppets and training a superb ensemble of actors/puppeters. They all made it look effortless (which it was anything but). The overall direction and ensemble were simply wonderful, and, next to the puppetry, the most impressive thing was the amazing quality of the singing. The characters, both human and constructed, were completely lovable and easy to relate to. My favorite (probably everyone else's) was Trekkie Monster, the adult answer to Cookie Monster, who can't get enough of internet porn. He and Christmas Eve (the Asian psychotherapist) practically stole the show, in my opinion. Even if you have seen the show before, I urge you to check out this production and re-live all the fun.

I originally saw the show on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Howie Michael Smith (Princeton / Rod) was absolutely fabulous! He was able to go from "straight" to "gay" without going overboard in either direction. He was perfect in both roles. (Not to mention he is some sweet sweet eye candy.) While Chris Cooke was the trying-too-hard-to-be-funny class clown for both Nicky & Trekkie, the rest of the cast were natural comedians. Rebecca Larkin didn't sucka-sucka-suck as Christmas Eve, Jayson Elliott brought a huge stage presence as Brian, Ashley Eileen Bucknam was amazing as Kate & Lucy, Zonya Love had excellent Gary Coleman energy, and Lexy Fridell stole the show with the Bad Idea Bears! I saw the show again on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, this time with Zach Trimmer as Princeton and Rod. He did a great job as Howie's understudy, while bringing his own style to the characters. Zach did play Rod more "queer" than Howie, but still didn't make the character into a total stereotype. Get to the Ogunquit Playhouse and See Avenue Q!

I'm only 15 years old, but I attended the show Avenue Q. I very much enjoyed it; I've followed their music for a few years now. I was excited to finally go watch. The acting was great, the lyrics were catchy, and it all definitely projected some real-life scenarios. I wouldn't suggest it to someone under 13, but it is more for people ages 18 and older-- or mature teens. All adults would enjoy it really! It's a great story line. I'd rate it between 4-5 stars. I'd never seen "Avenue Q" before, and I was only passingly familiar with one of the songs. So it was a delightful surprise to experience this show as presented by this ensemble of stellar local talent. I took my "kids" (not young kids -- this show isn't actually suitable for the "Sesame Street" set) and a friend with me, and we were riveted throughout the performance. My daughter was so taken by the show that she immediately came home and started looking for all the YouTube clips of other performances she could find, and purchased the soundtrack on iTunes. In watching some of those clips with her, I have to say that the Stagewest crew performed as well or better than any other company showcased there. The vocals were outstanding, and the comedic timing of the cast was impeccable. Do I recommend this show? Hell, yes!!! A big shoutout to the cast and crew of this production for giving us an evening out we'll be talking about and remembering fondly for a long, long time.

Some of the songs were well done. Everyone Is a Little Bit Racist and The Internet is for Porn kept me intrigued and laughing. The love story dragged at times, but the message, as a whole, was to the point and something that many could relate to in their own lives. Sometimes the profanity was a bit over the top and unneeded, as was the puppet sex. The lead characters did most of the work in a fine fashion. The first act was very entertaining, but the second act left me a little bored. I checked my watch a couple of times. The comedy was lacking and the moral was a little too in your face. I could have left at intermission satisfied.

So funny. At times difficult to make out complete dialogue or punch lines, but overall terrific experience...if one can take an R-rating!

This was the second time I've seen Avenue Q. It was as enjoyable as the first. A fun lighthearted show.

If you're anti-politically correct, and not afraid of adult humor, you'll probably laugh your ass off. I did. Great story, great cast.

Unless you're easily offended, I would recommend this musical to any adult (but leave your kids at home). While the characters are puppets, this musical will have you laughing from start to end -- From the opening number, "It sucks to be me" to "Everyone's a little bit racist" this is an absolutely great show. Riffe Center in Columbus, OH is a small venue, so all the seats are great.

This was my first live musical. I would go to more if they were like Ave. Q.

The show was fabulous! The cast was in sync and enjoying themselves!! The enjoyment was felt by the audience. Only one critique.....I was too aware of the people and less focused and aware of the puppets. I assume the puppets are to be the "focus" of our attention.

An adult musical that is great fun and full of laughs. The cast is amazing and they bring the puppets to life! I think a few of the puppets could have been done better, but overall a wonderful production. The staff at Cain Park was less than friendly. Most were rather short tempered with guests and unfriendly. I only had one pleasant person out of the four I interacted with.

Avenue Q is just awesome! it is really funny and well written. the venue at cain park made it even better. it was in the alma theater, which i had no idea how intimate of a setting that was. I was in the last row, and was only 7 rows back! overall- it was a really good time!

Very well done in all respects. Actors resembled and handled their puppets so effortlessly. Music was fun and sung well. Had the theater not been sweltering, we would have liked to see the second half of the show.

I saw Avenue Q on Broadway shortly after it opened. The Cain Park production was terrific, even in comparison. The singing voice of "Kate Monster" was fabulous on B'way and was just as good here. Great Job!

SO funny and entertaining I would go see it again immediately if it weren't sold out! I regret not buying more tickets to bring more friends. Downfall was the fact that the weather was sweltering hot. The show was essentially outdoors/covered theater. I wish they would have rolled up the side tarps to get some air flow. Also, concert nearby was a little distracting.

Funny and irreverent. This was my third time seeing the show, and the cast at Cain Park gave the Broadway Cast a run for their money! It's a it racy, and the language is rough, but as long as that won't bother you, you'll love it!
