Jukebox Junction

My husband and I (in our early 60's) took my father (90) and his date. We love the live music from the 50's and 60's. Dad recognized a few of the songs. He'd been working lots and lots of overtime for his young family back then and didn't listen to music much. But the Glen Miller band had a thrilling sound to hear, LIVE, and they were very happy. I knew all but one song. We all thought. the volume was too loud, hearing aids or not!

Those were, and still are, "our songs". They are indelibly etched in our minds, and sounded at the Chandler Center just like we remembered them. What a great idea to put together two different sounds in one performance, and make them blend so well!

Was very pleased with the performances of the diamonds and the glen miller orchestra. They did an outstanding job and were very personable. The orchestra was entertaining with their various musicians coming to the front of the stage for their limelight performance.

The first half - The Fabulous Diamonds, with full orchestra, singing their blockbuster hits of yesteryear. Then the second half, after a twenty minute intermission - The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra performing their popular mega hits as well.

My husband and I totally LOVED the music and this event is one we would see again!!

Both GMO & The Diamonds were great! Was particular impressed with GMO playing backup for The Diamonds....some bands get sloppy doing this, but not these guys! Eilene Burns was great on vocals, too.

Of course, these are not the original Glenn Miller Band nor the original Diamonds, but they do put on a very good show. They received a standing ovation from a crowd of old time rockers. My party and I all bought the CD and were talking about the concert for hours afterward at dinner.

The Diamonds were amazing (and orchestra did play as backup), but the actual Glenn Miller concert was great but way too short (and we'd have loved to have a place to dance to them)
