If you haven't already seen Beecher's Fault in and around NYC, hurry up before they move up to much bigger venues and higher ticket prices. Their melodic vocals, unpredictable rifs and intelligent rhythms are compelling and leave me hungry for their next song. They came straight out of the box with a new number, Liqor Store and the decent crowd responded and got 'into it' right away. Other favorites like Leftover People, Photos, Matchstick Kings and the fun, upbeat Heather followed and mixed up with exciting new numbers. Their sound is unique and varied, so it is impossible to isolate all of their influencers, but just as one example, if you like Wilco I think you will like Beecher's Fault. Live - they were tight and professional, but also worth getting some BF songs on your phone. You will find yourself humming the melodies at the strangest moments and trying to remember where they came from. Great performance guys (Ben, Ken, Max and Serge... and Lauren who added fantastic backing vocals on a couple of songs including Never Believe In You - that got the crowd going!)

This was truly a night to remember. Beecher's Fault did a really great set that included some of their best songs. Starting with their rousing and crowd pleasing Never Believe In You, through their statement-making and foot-tapping Liars and somewhat melancholy but moving Fine By Me, to the innovative and new Like Cartoons... they really mixed it up and kept the faithful Wednesday night crowd fully engaged. As always, there was a nice surprise... at the end of their love song Live Alone, there was a cleverly worked out transition into Purple Rain where their harmonies ruled and guitar solo captured the brilliance of Prince without trying to equal it. Wonderful! Beecher's Fault seem to keep growing with new songs and usually, one cover version from bands that inspired them. This night, we were also treated to Fleetwood Mac's Go Your Own Way - another first for Beecher's Fault!
