Just saw the Miles Davis Experience at the UF Performing Arts Center in Gainesville, Fl and although it was good, it was not great, nor did it meet expectations. As my amiga in tow stated, it felt like all the musicians were working independently of each other, versus as a cohesive group. And after watching the entire show, I have to concur. Also, their tribute to Davis and the monumental Kind of Blue album is where they really missed the mark. Considering this album is highlighted in their press release, most will undoubtedly be waiting for this performance. Unfortunately, memorable works such as Freddie Freeloader or So What were skipped, and although I know this is a Davis tribute, was looking for the entire ensemble to be included. All in all, not worth the pit price paid to see them, and only if this was on a substantial discount or free would I do this again. Sorry folks. P.S. Although the crowd were pulling for an encore, none to be seen (just another added disappointment). I am now listening to the original Kind of Blue to cleanse my mind of this evening. :/

This was a fabulous quintet. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Each musician individually was fantastic and accomplished and together a great experience. The music and the poetry together provided a wonderful tribute to Miles Davis.
