Saratoga Race Course Meet

We love this horse race and have attended from the Boston area for the last 10+ years.

It had rained in the morning, so it was real muddy. We had purchased tickets for the clubhouse. They were ok. We preferred to go down and stand by the fence to watch the races... If it had continue to rain the seats would have been great because they were covered. Lots of choices for food, and a great think to pay $10.00 for preferred parking...

Always a great take! A must for all, even non horse race fans.

The track facilities are really showing their age, but it remains the premier track for summer fun! Remember your hat.......and your $$$$. Park for free along East Street or the side streets. Buy the $1 water from the local kids outside the track. Hopefully the facility will get a fresh coat of paint soon!

This was a very good seat. It was nice and cool directly under a fan on a hot day. The venue was very good. it was a great day !

the only place to go for racing during the summer make this trip at the top of your bucket list do not wait go as soon as possible

I enjoyed it, had never been to a racetrack before. The only thing that sucked is i missed the entrance to the free parking area a few times ( it's off the side streets not the main road). The only thing i found odd was they have it open for some breakfast event thing, but then they kick you out at like 10am, and you have to wait to get back in, which isn't bad...... if it wasn't like 90 degrees out. But it is beautiful and the free parking is next to the warm-up track, so you can watch there for a bit before going into the actual track. I would highly recommend buying tickets in advance, they cost more online, but the line at the gate was ridiculously long. So it's worth it, you can get in a hell of a lot faster with pre-paid tickets, or a season pass. That is all

Saratoga Race Course is the prettiest race track in the country. We try to attend every year. I highly recommend.

Great day with family and friends at the spa would like to win more but alot of fun only bad part not enough betting terminal please install more in grandstand area

Easy, affordable, and convenient. Great seats for a great price. No more scalpers or waiting in long lines.

Travers Day racing was fantastic--great horses, great races, courteous track staff and even pretty good food/drinks at reasonable pricing. However, be forewarned that "grandstand admission" does NOT mean you sit in the grandstand--you are out on the apron in the hot sun all day!!! This should have been clarified by the track and Ticketmaster. Spend the extra $$ on clubhouse seating if you don't want to fry.....

Always love visiting the spa and having somewhere to drop my bottom is always a plus.

Saratoga is absolutely the best place to watch horse racing. The atmosphere is electric, everyone is having a great time, the track has so much historic value and beautiful grounds, and you can't beat downtown Saratoga Springs for the fun after the races are over. I would highly recommend this event even to those individuals who don't normally go to the horse races.

Be sure to buy the program; it has a quickie primer on how to bet if you've never placed a bet before. Bring some cash. Arrive early if you're going on a promotional giveaway day. Wear comfortable shoes. And sunscreen if you're not in the grandstands.

Saratoga race course was awesome- great track, great fan appreciation, great location! And because it is right across from the track we went to museum and hall of fame too so complete racing experience.

Another great time in Saratoga. The seats were amazing.

Visited from the Midwest. Easy to find, park & enter. This place was all it was advertised to be. Everyone we came in contact with from staff to other attendees were the friendliest people. Diner in town topped off a great day.

Had great clubhouse seats. The view was great and could see the finish of the races.

We decided to visit Saratoga for a day at the races since we were in Albany to attend a wedding. The ability to purchase clubhouse seats via Ticketmaster was easy and we were able to gain access to Saratoga using our phone. Great atmosphere and fun time at a very historic race track. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area and make it easy purchasing tickets in advance via Ticketmaster.

It was a great time and well worth the 30 bucks. I ended up buying seats from ticketmaster resell they were great seats. Enjoyed every minute there!

Now that preadmission tickets are required for Travers Day at Saratoga Race Track the day is more enjoyable because it's not so crazy crowded. I love Travers Day and I go every year!

Awesome experience and beautiful grounds! Parking for Travers Day is real expensive if you want to be close ($40-50) Will definitely come back,but maybe for a less popular race.

We've been to Belmont, Churchhill Downs and several other tracks but Saratoga is by far the best! The quality of horses racing there, the top jockeys and trainers and the atmosphere all contribute to a great experience. The grandstand makes you feel like you stepped back in time. The picnic area allows for a more casual, relaxed day. Plenty of machines available even on Travers Day. Saratoga is constantly trying to make changes for a better experience. I don't agree with all their changes especially reserving picnic tables and the semi-permanent tents along the paddock area fence since it takes away a significant area where people could stand to watch the horses saddled and the jockeys mounting horses.

After all the hype about having a huge crowd the masses must have stayed away. I understand that change is necessary but all of the improvements are killing the sense of community with the fans. For years we have sat in about the same area but now they have put up large permanent tents that took space away from family and friends gathering areas. Do the television stations really need a covered pavilion in the east end of the track? That area used to be filled with people that we would visit with from all parts of the state and northeast. The picnic table rentals and prices may be great for the city folks but regular blue collar workers cannot afford to go anymore. A beer for $8.50 after you have paid $40 to park, and $28.50 to get in on top of $15 for 4 pieces of chicken is beyond price gouging. At least the actual races and hearing the crowds roar brought back memories.

While I had no problem with my Travers tickets I was taken back by a $13.98 charge to my credit card for "ticket insurance" which I did not want or need.

This was our first year attending. We live in Phila., and were invited to the event by friends we met in Jamiaca who live in New Orleans. We stayed in Albany for the weekend and attended the Travers event on Saturday. The event was amazing. We could not believe the number of people who attended, the facilities, the vendors, how well the grounds were kept and how large they were. The people working at and attending the event were so friendly. We loved "people watching" and admiring the clothing of the men and the dresses/hats of the ladies. We thought it was really neat that coolers were allowed so people could have and share their refreshments. Basically, we had a blast and are definitely planning on returning next year with our friends from New Orleans and to also meet up with "new friends" we met at the actual event.

Saratoga on Travers Day best event of the summer! Family fun, betters paradise, and topped off with the most beautiful race horses! Mulling in the crowd, and everybody seems to be friendly, I like the little gift shop and always come home with a tee for someone (usually myself if not the grandkids). Wonderful full day, love it, go every year!

Travers day was awesome all the way around. Easy to park and get in. Didn't have to wait in line all day. The races were top notch. I have no complaints. Leaving was easy too. I highly recommend it.

We had great weather to watch great horsesand great jockeys. Nice crowd and plenty of beverages. Everyone needs to visit the best place to watch thoroughbreds.

Racing was great but seats were in direct sun and could not sit there. Also, bought 2 seats but only one bar would come up on iPhone so had to buy another admission. I would not use this service again.

The tickets we got from Ticketmaster were 100% better than the ones we got from NYRA. If you have been to the Clubhouse, seats in B & C first 2 rows are awesome! We always visit the week before the Travers, always have a great time. This year we saw Songbird win the Alabama, it was priceless.

Great family place. Don't have to be a gambler to enjoy. Buy the tip sheets. They know how to pick the horses. Clubhouse is the way to go.

Awesome place to go and have a good time. The races are quick and about every half hours so you don't have to stay forever to see several races and enjoy yourself. Plenty of seating even though I had reserved seats, the whole front was open. Race track assistants were extremely helpful with directions and info. Don't ask them about what horses are good. They are not allowed to talk about them.

The overall changes were only to the Stretch. No improvements to the Grandstand area. The second Ladies room was removed for the Stretch, but no improvements have been made in any! of the ladies rooms. What a difference from Keeneland! The bathrooms are from the 50's and in need of updates. It is unacceptable that someone is in the bathrooms for tips. Upgrade the areas!. The grandstand area needs a refresh totally, including the betting windows. It is very difficult to hear when making a bet at the windows. Some people still like to use cash!

Saratoga is a treat every year festive and fun rain or shine

We enjoy attending the races during track season, but decided for the first time that we would reserve seats, instead of relying on the benches that are usually saved ($5 admission). This was a great plan for us, as we brought our toddler and I was wearing really uncomfortable shoes! Having seats available to sit in when we wanted to, was a nice to have, not a need to have. We would definitely do it again! Next time, would probably want a few rows back, as the sun was on us in row D for most of the day.

The entire experience (my first) at the track from start to finish was awesome. Plenty of parking very close to the site - we actually parked on someones lawn for $15 and walked across the street to the gate. The employees were very helpful all day and you could tell they enjoyed being there. Didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely beautiful and the crowd was llight as it was the day after the Travers. Our seats were in P section and very good - we were in the shade. I enjoyed the atmosphere immensely. People with coolers, lawn chairs, etc. People having a good time. We won 3 or 4 bets and of course lost many more for a net loss on the day. But that didn't matter as it was a new venture. My wife and I will be back!

The races were challenging and exciting. I can only say that Saratoga's card for Traverse day was unforgettable and most impressive.Race 6

Really enjoyed our day. Good very expensive as expected but overall great day

Both my my mom and I along with friends go every year to Saratoga raceway. We ordered our tickets in advance on ticket master due to my mother has a hard time walking we need to get seats closer to the bathrooms . We booked handicap seating. The first day we arrived there was no handicap parking left in the main lots. As or mater of fact there was no handicap parking left for both the days ! And, we arrived before 1130A an hour and a half prior to the 100 P post. We were told to get there earlier. Really? The fact is there are not enough handicap parking spaces at Saratoga and they need to allow for more. Upon arriving at our seats we noticed there was only 1 sear available as the other seat/space was reserved for a wheelchair. My mom is handicapped but did not need or have a wheelchair. I supervisor named Chad kindly said he would take care of. However we had to walk all the way back to the box office at the entrance of the track to exchange our tickets. The same thing happened the next day though this time I refused to walk back to exchange my tickets and the usher only after seeing that our seats were already being used let us sit in other nearby seats. Along with a need for more handicap parking can the track invest in a radio for the ushers to call in to the box office for any seat problems? Our friends elect to get there tickets the day of at the box office and seem to get better seats. We will next year.

This was our 3rd year going to Saratoga by bus. If you want a special day trip this is a good trip.

A great experience. Not only for horse race players, but many family groups attend. A beautiful venue and town. Restaurants and shops aplenty. Fun for all. And of course, the best horse racing in the land. Good for the soul.

We had a beautiful fun-filled day at the races. This is such an awesome race track, family friendly with a very pleasant helpful staff. Our seats (section W, row A) were great! Sunny the first race but then in the shade. It's a short section so analogous to row E in others. 8 of us had a terrific day!

Great day at the races! Reserved dating is a must for those hot days!

I love the track and this seating is excellent cause ur out of the sun and usually quite breezy. Only complaint is waiter/waitress service is extremely poor. No one came over for several hrs you are better off going to get ur food yourself and bringing it to table ( which is allowed) rather than order it and have them go get it. Thank goodness no one in party drank alcohol. Other than that it is a very nice place to sit.

Nothing beats summertime racing at Saratoga, especially on big race days! Gun Runner in the Whitney was spectacular, clearly one of the two best older horses in the country. Can't wait to go to the Travers Stakes in two weeks.

Had a very good time. However, the prices at the track are off the charts for some snacks. Bring your own.

You can see well from the seats we purchased. Front row of Section N of Grandstand. Just a warning. The seats are in direct sunlight for the 1st few races. Can get warm

After driving through the pouring rain for two and a half hours we reached the track to find the lines to get in backed up for blocks. We drove in, paid $20 to park, and drove out when we saw the lines. We later found out that the back up was due to the screening. We also found the new "check in on your phone", a new gimmick, to be cumbersome at best. Fortunately we were there for two more days and had beautiful weather an no lines. But the check in process definitely slows things down. My advice? Avoid attending the Whitney and the Travers unless you love lines and crowds and frustration!

Saratoga is the mecca of horse racing. It had been 35 years since my last visit and it has changed. Very much more commercialized with every bit of space rented it out to many vendors. The horses is no longer are saddked under the trees out in the open. Thus making it less of a real experience. The quality of racing is fantastic.

My favorite summertime getaway! Can't wait for next year!

Nothing wrong in Section N, but Rows A - D are in early PM full sun... August 4th shade arrives about 4 PM. On a hot & humid day or a rainy day the seats would be unusable in our opinion. Section N is certainly as good as Clubhouse seats section G-L... so if you want to sit in section N, recommend going for rows F or higher. We suspect this is also true for sections O - R too. Surrounding people were fun to watch... no problems... some characters... but likely true anywhere one is seated. We will not sit in Section N row A, B, C or D on any future race-day.

You have to love the Saratoga Racetrack in August. Even if you aren't a big better, the atmosphere and people watching would make for a fun day. Food is pricey and not all that good, but you get a good day's worth of fun for the cost of admission.

We had a wonderful time in Saratoga. We went to the racing Museum and picnicked on the grounds of the race course the first day. The second day we used our tickets to sit in the grandstand. We didn't meet win any money but we had a wonderful time. Saratoga is a lovely little town and a race track is very friendly and pretty.

Always enjoy are days at Saratoga. Most Beautiful race track in the USA. It's where the everyday country folk meet the aristocracy!! The back yard picnic tables to fancy dining to everything inbetween. Being going for over 50 years.
