This concert was fabulous. My 9 year old granddaughter accompanied me and she loved it, too. Another choir called Virtuoso with members from all across our country came to Raleigh for the weekend and also participated in the concert, so we really had 2 concerts in one. We sat on the front row and enjoyed every second of the concert. If I lived in Raleigh, I would never miss another of their concerts.

The ringers were great as ususal. The additional group was OK but went on too long, would have preferred to have the Raleigh Ringers play more, they didn't play everything listed.

I looked forward to this concert, as to have the Raleigh Ringers right back home in Raleigh should be quite exciting. For a show during the Christmas season, I assumed the music would be mostly Christmas songs: White Xmas, Rudolph, Drummer Boy, Frosty, and dare I say it, Jingle Bells. Well, they did have Xmas music, but they were obscure songs (to me, anyway,) that were mostly Classical in my opinion. Bach's Fugue in G Minor? Bizet's Farandole from 'L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2?' Where was 'Santa Clause is coming to town?' Don't get me wrong, the RR are an incredible ensemble, and the players and conductor were top notch. They played one of my favorites, 'Linus and Lucy,' and they just blew me away with 'Flight of the Bumblebee,' and they ended with some surprising tunes. One thing left me extremely disappointed. They promised songs from Transiberian Orchestra, and they did play a few, so naturally I assumed they'd play 'Christmas Eve in Sarajevo,' right? Nope, not that night. Bottom line - had I not gone in with the expectations I had, it would have been a great show. Actually it was great, but it just wasn't what I was looking for.

This is the 2nd RR event that I have attended. Both have been musically excellent and fun to watch. Bell ringing is not for everyone, but this group "performs" well - particularly the action in the "bass" section. TSO tunes were great. We are all just "Dust in the Wind", it was worth spending some of my limited moments at a great venue (Meymandi) during the Christmas season.

One of the best performances we have been to. The Raleigh Ringers were fabulous on their own during the first half of the performance. For the second half, the Raleigh Ringers combined with the Raleigh Chamber Orchestra for a performance that was absolutely awesome. We throughly enjoyed every piece !!

The Raleigh Ringers were great - a super place and atmosphere to have the bell ringers there. Although the orchestra was very nice - I thought we were going to hear more bells. We have seen them previously and this time we missed out on a lot of the regular choices. Felt like we only got 1/2 the show that we paid for. We'll still go see them - but I'll make sure about the details.

As a previous handbell ringer, I have been attending this event since they played in the Capitol the night of the Christmas tree lighting. I have never been disappointed. I love the new music, the old traditionals, and the rock pieces.

We had poor seats. we paid a premium but all we could see were the Bass Bells. In the second half we moved to unoccupied seats way back so we could see the whole stage.

What a great display of true dedicated musicians, who enjoy their performance! Considering the octive ranges of the bells, and how the musicians coordinate the shifting and switching, all the time maintaining precise syncopation is a thrill! are

We enjoyed the mix of new music with old favorites, but missed hearing the Grinch! Will be sure to catch next year's Christmas concert as well. The RR are consistent in their technical excellence, and they look like they're having FUN! Thanks to the Raleigh Ringers and David Harris for a wonderful evening.

This was the sixth concert I have attended by the Raleigh Ringers, but unfortunately, it will also be my last. While I understand the Director, David Harris, has to ad lib some between songs to allow the performers to reset, he talked so long between the songs in this concert that it completely killed the flow of the program. This was also the case during the last concert I attended, but I decided to give them another chance. It's unfortunate.

Enjoyed the sounds of the musical bells and performance was super. Did not enjoy the narrator talking between each song and the long explanations given between music. It was interruptive of enjoying the performance and thought it was rather a distraction from really getting into the flow and rhythm of the music. Instead it would be nice to have a booklet to follow along in knowing what song was coming next and by what composer. Also think it would be nice to have more of a twinkling of lights in the background during the show instead of having to focus on the performers through out the entire performance. Although talented, it is rather boring to look at the performers for so long (sorry).

I grew up in Nebraska, dreaming of seeing the Raleigh Ringers someday. As a ringer myself, I was absolutely blown away by the talent of the group! The music selection was perfectly balanced and the performers enjoyed performing! Now I get to send extra programs home and brag to my hometown bell choir that I finally saw them! We will definitely be going to be more performances now that we live in the area!

The Raleigh Ringers are a great orchestra of sound . The bells are magical and really bring in the season. We loved them. I think the intermission was a little long and not necessary. On another note, I would recommend getting your tickets local to save money. Ticketmasters has a very high mark up. $20 tickets end up costing $30 through Ticketmasters. But the Raleigh Ringers are worth it.

They did it again. Interesting repertoire, wonderful presentation. Lots of fun and touching moments as well. Greensleeves was slightly disappointing. Use of the alumni for several pieces was very special. Raleigh Rockers was fun and I'd like to see more of them. Complex and difficult pieces. Lots of variety which is nice. Ode to Joy almost made me cry. Done perfectly. Loved the extra tunes from Transiberian Orchestra.

The Raleigh Ringer show was great and also entertaining. The only downside was because of the two round bright lights at the rear of the stage that were shining directly into the audience's faces. Stage manager needs to fix this problem.

Having enjoyed the PBS special on Raleigh Ringers, we decided to see them in person. As newbies to the theatrical performance my husband and I were delighted with the entire concert. Between numbers while the bells were assembled for the next number, the conductor spoke with the audience about the history of the Raleigh Ringers and interesting anecdotes. Apart from the consummate performances, there were moments of levity with some of the ringers cutting up. What fun! We will be returning for future performances.

How do they do that? There are so many instruments, and the performers have to constantly change from one to another while also playing 2 to 3 in each hand at the same time! The music choices and performances were simultaneously inspired, active, and appropriately humorous.
