The Bright Light Social Hour
Bright Light Social Hour blends soulful backbeats with psychedelic accents to concoct their genre-defying sound . At the band's live shows thunderous guitar riffs, reedy organ melodies, and booming drum beats get ticket buyers rocking and grooving to fan favorites like “Detroit”, “Sweet Madeleine”, and “Infinite Cities”. Meanwhile, electronic dance elements and swooshing sound effects kick each miniature epic into interstellar overdrive. As this unpredictable blend of experimental sounds take the group into the stratosphere, singers Jack O’Brien and Curtis Roush layer bluesy, soulful vocals over the top to give the songs an emotional.

Amazing and energetic show. Opened up on new years eve with Shanty and kept jamming all night. The band's sound is a unique blend of southern rock and hypnotic jams. Some songs reminded me of some old school Skynyrd. Lead guitarist and vocalist were in tune with one another. Will catch them in FL again soon.

This show was overall pretty fun. The opening guy was a little odd to be playing live, but I feel like it was okay for such a small venue. The second band was pretty chill, too, I can appreciate Floridian bands who can do relatively well. The headliner was rad, they really had some great moments during their set. All the members of that band just blew me away with their talent, and the encore was sweet. They got the crowd into it, and it made a great show. 10/10, would see again.

Best show I've ever been to. Black Taxi, the opener, blew my mind with their immense energy and theatrics. Bright Light had the whole crowd in the palms of their hands and took them on a journey of sound and excitement. I'd love to see both of these bands again and again.

I've seen TBLSH a few times (once before at Bowery), and they never, ever fail to put on an incredibly fun show. This night, however, there was an extra energy in the air due to this being the band's first headline show at the Bowery. They were so musically tight and visually gripping, but extra credit must be given to the lighting director for that night. Great music accompanied by a WICKED light show really blew the roof off the house. Can't wait for them to come back and sell out Bowery Ballroom again!

This is my second time seeing them so I m willing to make the statement that The Bright Light Social Hour is one of the best live bands I've seen. It s not just the fact that they are all such fantastic musicians (ummm the drum solo in the middle of the set??! !!) , they have an energy that you just need to experience to understand. I ve been talking this concert up to friends the last few days and I ve been trying to find youtube clips that will do them justice but there just aren t any. You NEED to see this band live. (Their album is pretty fantastic though) I still have no voice from cheering so loud and a friend has claimed that his face melted off during the show, but we both agree it was so well worth it. Thank you Bright Light!!
