Bleached

BLEACHED IN CONCERT:LA-based garage rockers Bleached offer up a fresh, sun-soaked blend of punk, surf pop, and classic '60s girl group soul. The band's vintage, referential sound has the warm glow of the familiar, but it avoids the pitfalls of retro rehash with the addition of modern production touches and vocal stylings far more aggressive than anything heard during the Wall of Sound era. Bleached's biggest weapon is their caterwauling live show -- whether they're powering through favorites like "Poison Ivy" or inciting riotous dancing with a cover of The Damned's "Born To Kill", the band brings an energy and charisma to the stage that always leaves ticket buyers feeling thoroughly rocked.  BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin grew up in LA's suburban San Fernando Valley, where they began teaching themselves tunes on their father's acoustic guitar as pre-teens.

Bizarrely, this show was not sold out - I really don't understand why because both Bleached and Hunters rule, and EX COPS was good too (I am dumb and missed everything but their last song). I guess it was a blessing for me because some obnoxious dudes in the crowd decided they had to mosh and to push each other into the non-moshing audience and that would have been extraordinarily frustrating had it not been for the not-sold-out state. I was standing one person away from the stage, had a great view, and gave it up because of the jerks. Luckily the balcony was ENTIRELY open.
