The Remains remain the one surviving 60's group (they must be one of the longest-surviving groups with the same personel in rock history) that filled that niche between the British invasion and full-blown psychedlia and folk rock. Their catchy, short, perfectly played tunes really captured that brief era in rock history.

The Remains, Barry Tashian, Vern Miller, Bill Briggs and Chip Damiani, played an energized set on Friday night at Brighton Music Hall to an enthusiastic crowd spanning the age bracket from 20 year-olds to retirement-aged folks. Their music came from two albums of original 60's 'Garage Rock' as well as a few choice covers. Little Steven would have been proud !

Almost 50 years have passed since Barry and The Remains were the best Rock`n Roll band prowling Kenmore Square and the region. Given today`s marketing production engine they would have been right at the very top in this country. The Beatles obviously knew a good thing when they heard it giving them the opening slot on their final tour of America in 1966. Given the fact that these guys don`t play together very often they were fantastic. They`ve improved their musicianship.. They were very tight and their vocals were spot on. Real good music played on real instruments with real voices. No gimmicks.
