This was a great show! The crowd was on the small side, so it was great to see every band still bring ALL their energy & performance quality! The only improvement I'd make would be to Everclear's sound tech, who didn't seem to notice that Art's mic level was too quiet.

Spent the extra for VIP..... It was awesome. Art played acoustic for us and it was genuine. It was awesome meeting the band. Toadies came out and signed after they played. Everclear also came out and signed at end of concert. It is great when bands can do that for the fans!

Short sets - played the hits. Exactly what you expect and want at a rock show like this. Bands signed merch and met the fans after their set, nice. Members of other bands would come out and play with different bands which made the shows unique and the experince even more exciting. Soul Asylum was amazing! The rest of the bands were great! Perfect weather which made this event even better.

We had such a blast at this show! Everclear & The Gin Blossoms were probably my fav groups but all of them were very entertaining. We were in a group of 5, ranging in ages from 27-32 & all of us were singing along like these songs were fresh on the radio. This was our 1st time at the Greek Theater & we were very impressed. Every seat was a good seat & drink prices were reasonable by concert standards.

I really liked the venue the Greek Theatre; I would go back there again. I am not sure if it was the venue, a spoof, or the band's sound system, but occasionally the sound was terrible, you couldn't hear the singing very well. I remember all these bands from my high school days so it brought back some good memories. Each of the bands were all one hit wonders, except for Sugar Ray. I don't think pit tickets were necessary because it's not that kind of concert. Only inconsiderate people who admitted to sneaking in stoodup in front of us the whole time and even on the chairs. You could see the faces of the performers very well. Knowing what I know now I would do the concert all over again.

Every band was great!! Of course I was primarily there for the headliner (Everclear) who rocked as always. But I was pleasantly surprised by Lit. And the Gin Blossoms and Sugar Ray played hit after hit... It was GREAT!!! I hope they do this again next year! I will definitely be there if they do!!!

The bands were all good but it was Waaayyy too crowded, making it difficult to see them, but, fortunately because of the great sound system, they could still be heard! This was the first time we've been to an event at "The Beach" that there were not nice large towels offered to us when we entered. If we had known, we would have brought our own, but since our only choices were standing or sitting on concrete for 5 hours, there was no comfort to be had.

Marcy Playground opened. We like them, but the sound system wasn't very good. At least later the sound system got better. A bit dissapointed they didn't do a few of our favorites, but we will see them again. Lit was next, and the singer sounded terrible. Gin Blossoms were third, and were the highlight of the evening it turned out. Should have been the final act. Sugar Ray were fourth, and Mark McGrath did not sound good at all. If he could sing in the past, he lost it somewhere along the way. I was holding out hope for Everclear, since I had not seen them before. They sounded OK, but I was so down from the earlier stuff that I was ready to go. I would see Marcy, Gin Blossoms, and maybe Everclear again, but Lit and Sugar Ray were all show and no go.

Marcy Playground - Ok, but a little sleepy for an event like this. Didn't play usual big concert favorite "It's Saturday" - and this was on a Saturday night in Vegas. Glaring omission, Lit - My favorite band of the night. Brought a ton of energy, but didn't play "Lipstick and Bruises" or "Four". They played 8 songs at most. Gin Blossoms - Good band who did play all the big hits, but I think they should be slotted before Lit, as their stage presence is not what Lit's is. Sugar Ray - Great job with maybe a 10 song setlist. Always a crowd-pleaser. Everclear - Not as animated as some of the other acts, but they played their top hits (although many of those do sound the same). Overall a good show, but I expected more.

A great line up and great weather at the Greek for an outdoor concert. Gin Blossoms did the best job of the show, with Sugar Ray doing a great set. I was really looking forward to seeing Everclear live but it seemed as if they had skipped the sound check. Vocals fell flat and microphones did not work all the time. Half of the songs sounded muted and bland as there was no distinction between lead and rhythm guitars. Felt like seeing a brand new band who has never done a sound test before. Doubt I would see Everclear live again. I will just enjoy their albums where the music is mixed just right.

This was a great show, perfect for summer! I was drawn into the event by the fact that LIT was performing. I loved them as a young teeanager, but was never able to see them perform live. Getting to see them perform at Summerland a dream come true and believe it or not, it exceeded my expectations! So many great hits and unbelievably I still knew all the lyrics and was jumping, dancing, and singing right along with them. Plus it was super cool because LIT has a new album and they stuck around after their performance to sign merchandise! It was so cool getting to meet & take photos with the band's lead singer. Very cool guy! So I was drawn in for LIT, but the other bands did not disappoint. Marcy's Playground was a good openner & got the crowd going with 'Sex & Candy' and Gin Blossoms were so much fun! However, Sugar Ray stole the show! Amazing how awesomely funny & humble Mark McGrath is. He is a true performer. I was entertained from the moment they came out to the "Saved by the Bell" theme song and throughout their whole set. This is what LIVE music is all about! My only wish was that Everclear had been a bit more spot on. I don't know if it was the mic, or acoustics, or what but they didn't sound all that great. I saw Everclear the year prior in the outdoor stage at Verizon Amphitheathre and they were 10x better. Sugar Ray stole the spotlight and Everclear unfortunately just didn't live up for me this time. Overall though, if you get the cheap seats...this is a show well worth it! Total awesome blast from the past.

Great concept professionally executed. A fast paced hit packed show. Complete stage changes done in under :15 minutes. McGrath and Alexakis played inviting "game-show" hosts for the night. Sugar Ray needn't have used backing tracks, but certainly sounded much larger as a result. The show would benefit from some near-field FOH front fills, as Everclear's vocals were drowned in the mix in the pit as a result of a raging loud guitar amp onstage. All other bands sounded great. Crowd was really into it. Would be interesting to see if they run expanded sets in venue's without the Greek's curfew.

The Summerland tour features five bands best known from the 1990s, in various stages of coming to terms with their ages and career arcs. Marcy Playground opened with a relaxed set. Lit followed, and they brought a lot of fans up from their native Orange County. The Gin Blossoms had possibly the best set of the night, and while I've seen them much more energetic in other shows, they seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves. Sugar Ray, more than anyone else, happily owned their washed-up status, and Mark McGrath made a party of it. And then there was Everclear to close the show. I'm a huge fan of the band, and am enjoying their new cd "Invisible Stars." So it breaks my heart to say this. But they were awful. Bad sound mixing meant that many of the lyrics -- when Art bothered to try singing them -- could not be heard. When we could hear him, he was often a half-step behind the music. It was probably a full minute into the song before the crowd figured out the band was playing "AM Radio." Ultimately, the show was a blast. I just wish we had left before the final act.

I went primarily went to see Marcy Playground, who played first. (I personally thing the Gin Blossoms should have gone out first). That was disappointing because not everyone had arrived, and people were still walking to their seats, which to me seemed rude to the band. This was meant to be a greatest hits kind of tour, so that if that is what you want that is what you'll get, a bunch of music that you all know and remember. The styles of the bands are different, but from the same era. I had never seen Sugar Ray, and am familiar with his music. He was absolutely entertaining. He just works it, and has fun with the crowd. I told my friend I am Marcy Playground happy, and have Sugar Ray Smiles. Marcy Playground also has a new CD you can buy at the venue. Very happy with the music. So go to Summerland! I thought 4 hours of a concert would seem long, but it flew by.

I got my dad tickets for this for fathers day, but we really just wanted to see Sugar Ray and Everclear, so that's who we went and saw. Sugar Ray was AMAZING, engaging the crowd, and their music was spot on perfect. Everclear on the other hand, the band that I was most excited to see, wasn't as good as I thought that they would be. True they did have some sound problems at the beginning of the set, but I thought they could have had a much better performance anyways.

The sound during Everclear's set was awful. It was impossible to sit through. I've attended many live events at the Greek so I'm pretty sure if it was something that they could've fixed, they would. Perhaps Everclear needs to work on their sets a bit more before going on tour!

We were looking forward to an awesome show. When our awesome seats got changed to general admission upon our arrival, the disappointment pretty much overshadowed the entire evening. We went to the Summerland concert a couple of years ago at the casino in Detroit and loved it! This time Everclear was an opener rather than the headliner which was our primary reason for buying tickets. Everclear was amazing as usual, would have been a much better experience if we were 2nd row center stage like we planned because those were the tickets we bought! It also would have been nice to hear them play more songs. Sugar Ray ended up being the headliner and puts on a good show. It was enjoyable. We are not fans of the 1st 2 bands Sponge and Lit, so really didn't recognize much of their music....

Attended this show to see Everclear and Sugar Ray. I really like a lot of Everclear songs, but they all sounded terrible live. Slowed way down, poor sound mix, etc. Art just seemed tired/bored the entire time he was on stage. It was difficult to hear him most of the time. The worst parts was that during "Santa Monica," the lead singer of Sponge came up and sang most of the song. Unbelievable and so disappointing. If you can no longer sing your biggest hit song, it's probably time to call it quits, unfortunately. Sugar Ray was super energetic and fun. Really enjoyed their performance.

Over all the experience was something I would definitely not do again. The venue changed it tickets to general Admission after we had paid the extra for floor seats. The one band that my friends and I were looking forward to seeing Everclear was horrible!!! He forgot the lyrics to his own songs and didn't sing for the most part and forgot how to play his guitar. The rest of the bands were good but over all the tickets issue and Everclear experience ruined it for us.

I was really looking forward to seeing all the bands that were part of the show. Sponge and Lit were the best of the night. While the sound system isn't great at this venue they still performed well enough to not notice. Everclear was terrible. I loved them growing up and was most excited to see them. Art barely sang and the sound was just terrible. People around us left during their set. We decided to stick around for Sugar Ray but left after two songs. They sounded just terrible. Mark's voice sounded like a 12 year old boy and again the acoustics are just really bad there. We couldn't take it and left and by the steady stream of people walking out to their cars at the same time we weren't the only ones who felt this way!

The main reason I went to this show was to see Sponge and Everclear. Sponge did what they always do...give 110% and sound great and engage the crowd. It was disappointing that they were limited to about 5 songs but I get that as there were three other bands to follow. The biggest let down was Everclear. The singer would just stop singing half way through a line (not a chorus) Not sure if he was drunk or what but the sound was terrible. Ive read several reviews stating the same thing. Might be time to hang it up. Im being critical because this was not a cheap show.

Sponge really started the event with a kick. Great sound and fan interactions. Going in, I was not a fan of Lit, but the whole band brought it with the highest energy performance of the night. Everclear's set-list was a powerhouse. Still rock in'. Sugar Ray had the right energy as well. They had fun up there and the fans appreciated it. Great venue for this type of show. I would like to see acts like Gin Blossums, Third Eye Blind, Spin Doctors, and other 90s ilk added.

Sponge, Lit, Everlast and Sugar Ray would've been perfect if they fired their sound engineer. So pissed that almost every moment was clouded by missing guitars, mics off, mix wrong....we finally left after 3 Suar Ray songs since Mark couldn't get his earpiece to work and couldn't hear himself off key. All 4 bands were energetic, loved being there and put in a great attempt, but were sabotaged by their own sound person.

Disappointedfromthe90s
So, the show started a half hour earlier than was advertised which we were luckily there to catch. Sponge opened the show and they were pretty good, played a few of their hits. Next up was Lit and they were by far the best of the night. Solid overall and played a lot of their hits along with some newer stuff. Next came Everclear and it was apparent that Art, the lead singer, was drunk or something. He was slurring his words and couldn't annunciate half the lyrics to their songs. They were really disappointing. At this point we were pissed that they weren't the headliners and Sugar Ray had taken the headlining spot so we decided to take off early. Figured we weren't missing much with Sugar Ray playing and I really didn't want to look at Mark McGrath's plastic face. I hate to be sour about the whole thing but I was really excited to see some of my favorite bands from the 90s play. Overall it was a big letdown.

I wasn't a big Sugar Ray fan until seeing them at Hard Rock on Monday nite. I took my son so he could see one of his favorite bands, Everclear. Sugar Ray played all their hits as well as a rousing version of EMF's Unbelievable and a mini-tribute to one of my all time favorite rockers, The Ramones! Everclear's performance was fun although Art's voice is showing wear for the mileage. Lit put on a very high-energy rocking set and Sponge was a decent opening act. All in all, a very memorable night and well worth the price of admission. I highly recommend seeing the 2016 Summerland Tour!

My fiance bought these tickets for my 21st birthday and our main reason to go was to see Sugar Ray, of whom I am a huge fan! It was my dream concert so I was worried that I would play it up so much in my mind, and it wouldn't live up to the expectations- but it was even better! Only downfalls were that there was a problem with the equipment and the roadies had to fix the microphones in between each band- I couldn't hear Sponge's vocalist at all- but I wasn't there to see them, so it didn't bother me. Sugar Ray, Everclear, and Lit all made sure that they were heard and the problem had been fixed, which I was super glad about! Also wished that Sugar Ray sold some tour/band merch, but they threw stuff to the crowd, and I caught three guitar picks and a t-shirt! Everclear and Lit both did a signing afterwards which was awesome, only we had a long drive so we didn't stay. We got there a couple hours early, stood in line for a super long time, but then were able to be in the front row and center stage, close enough to touch the singers when they bent down which was super awesome!

Our group of 6 people all had a blast at the show Friday night. This was my second show this year that I have seen at this Venue. First show was the Pixies and of course this latest show The Summerland Tour featuring SpaceHog, Eve6 Soul Asylum and EverClear. Both times I really enjoyed the being at South Side Ballroom. Music was great, unfortunately we missed SpaceHog, but Eve 6 did OK, Soul Asylum never disappoints and although they could have played longer they did leave the crowd wanting more with an very energetic set. EverClear was solid as expected. Great venue great people at the venue! We were fortunate enough to have backstage passes, in which the security went out of their way to help us figure out what that all meant. They were so kind and really did help!

My son and I had a great time at this show. Art Alexakis hosted the show and introduced every band. Sponge was great. Filter was good although a bit too loud, just like when I saw them at Edgefest. Live was incredible. Live is a band that people don't realize they know. Every song was phenomenal, so glad I got to see Live, live. Everclear was just amazing. We were not sure what to expect from the five bands, but knew we would like at least 2 of the 5 bands (Gin Blossoms and Sugar Ray). Neither disappointed. Sugar Ray stole the show. Marcy Playground was entertaining and although i don't know much of their music, we enjoyed all they played. Lit was entirely TOO LOUD. I am not too old either! The sound guy was horrible. Unlistenable. Screeching!! ow!!! and the final act, Everclear was awful. Their sound could hardly be heard. Their lighting was barely there. I think all bands should hire the Sugar Ray stage crewg and the show would be top notch. We still had fun, as it was a great night to be out and enjoying music.

These guys put on the greatest family event ever. First band up was Marcy Playground. Saving their big hit Sex and Candy for last, they played songs ranging from folk to rock. Next up was Lit. High flying and full of energy. You had no problem hearing these guys! They went back to the stands to meet and greet their fans after their set which was pure rock! AJ the lead singer knows how to get the crowd on their feet and rocking. Third band up was the Gin Blossoms. There whole set was filled with notables from the 90's. Not a song in there you don't remember hearing at one time or another on the dial. Sugar Ray was by far the most entertaining! Again a set full of notables, very energetic, dances throughout his set and plays with the audience. Very entertaining. Everclear was up last opening with their successful tune Father of Mine and going all the way back into the archives for Heroin Girl. No moshing allowed as Art reminds the audience "girls get hurt." His five year old daughter Arizona introduced Sugar Ray and AJ's 8 year old son from Lit opened the beginning of Santa Monica on guitar! All the bands stuck around for each other's sets and each one came out and participated in each other's sets. The grand finale had all band members singing Santa Monica and their kids were dancing on stage. It truly was an awesome sight.

Overall this was a great show. I am a fan of 90's alternative acts so this was a must for me. It is a great venue and the woodstock vibe prevails here, from the staff to the crowd! For the show, Marcy Playground had the usual first act on sound problems (no bass) but once solved they delivered a decent set ending with their one hit "sex and candy". Not a bad start. Next on was Lit who imho---ruled!!! Jeremy came out and just hit a pose in front of his Bad cat stack cacthing a high end feedback and they owned the crowd from start to finish. I could never understand why this band didn't aceive more success.Love the new CD btw!!! Next was my favorite band--GinBlossoms. They delivered a great set of hit after hit!! Another band that should have acheived better but they still have a loyal following. Next on was Sugar Ray. Fun set, good hits played but I still think Mark would make a good game show host!! Last on was everclear. Don't get me wrong, I love this band but Art can't hit the notes anymore. Great music but it suffered because he had to stay in a low range. "Wonderful" really lacked the angst and hurt and irony that was needed for this great classic! All in all a great show though and I hope it returns to Bethel next year!

I'm a 24, going on 25, girl so even though I was born in the 80s -- I was a 90s kid. I brought my best friend from childhood a ticket for her birthday and we both felt like we were 11 again. I honestly cannot wait to go next year! Summerland Tour 2013!!! Suggestions... I've love to see Third Eye Blind, Blind Melon & Spin Doctors there.

It was awesome seeing our favorite 90's bands live! Marcy's Playground, LIT, Gin Blossoms and Sugar Ray totally rocked it! So much fun! We were so let down by Everclear in the last set of the night. The lead singer's voice was scruffy and out of key. The rest of the band was great, but unfortunately we just couldn't take the lead singer's voice anymore so we left early. The first four bands made it all worth it! Everclear, consider getting a new singer until that situation improves.

The Summerland Tour was one of the best shows I have ever been to. Bands signed merch... it was awesome! =) I have always been partial to standing in the pit. But it was still very enjoyable. The sound was perfect.

First off, the venue, LC Pavilion, in the Columbus,OH "Arena District" is a wonderful, cozy place to see a concert. good sightlines, and you are never far from the stage. the sound system was more than adequate to rock the house with high energy rock. The 2 main stars of the show, Mark McGrath of the band Sugar Ray, & Art Alexakis of Everclear, were out front from the very beginning of the show. thanking everyone profusely for coming, introducing each band with anecdotes. and generally providing a wonderfully positive vibe for the night. it seemed that they were genuinely pleased to be there. Marcy Playground led off the show, and provided high energy as everyone settled in. by the time the got to their biggest hit, "sex & candy", they had the crowd pumped up. That led into the band "Lit". They really got the crowd going with their Orange County,CA brand of "rage rock". Next up were the "Gin Blossoms", who played a string of tunes very familiar to anyone who listened to rock radio in the '90's. Sugar Ray then came out to continue the good time vibe. Mark McGrath soon had the crowd in his hand,& showed that he is a fabulous frontman. He engaged in a little crowd participation game of karaoke, which was entertaining and funny. Then Everclear came out to finish off a lively evening of good '90's alternative rock classics. The various members of all of the bands interacted with each other, and they genuinely seemed to enjoy each others company. on the Finale, "Santa Monica", lead guitar was performed by Lit's Lead guitarist,Jeremy Popoff, and other band members joined in for a rocking time.

Marcy Playground warmed up the show. Then Lit came out and tore up the stage! They sounded great! I would pay to see Lit again. Gin Blossoms were the highlight because they're my favorite band and I've seen them several times in concert. They played all of their hits and a few newer ones. Sugar Ray put on a surprisingly good performance. They seem to love being rock stars, you can tell. Lots of showmanship there. Everclear didn't sound good at all. The music sounded okay, but not the vocals. Something was wrong with the microphone for a while coupled with the fact that Art seemed to be losing his voice. He had to take breaks from singing mid-song, get other people to sing certain parts, and then they played some solos just so he coudl avoid singing more. They ended the show with "Santa Monica", but Art didn't even sing it. The guys from Lit and Gin Blossoms sang it instead. Everclear was a huge disappointment, because I know they are better than that, I've seen them before. I would give them another chance. (their new album is pretty good!) Hopefully they do this tour again next year. What a great idea!

LOOK, dont miss this concert. first of all Mark came into my salon that morning and can I just say it is because of him and his attitude (or lack of) that I decided to go to the concert. What a genuine nice guy. The music at this concert really brought back memories. Everone at this concert was so happy and friendly. my sister and I loved this concert. Thanks for a great night out summerland tour!!!!!

I think all the bands were great. It's awesome that they like to interact with the crowd. They all seemed like real down-to-earth guys I would definitely go back to see them next year if they play.. What was really cool was that the stage was really close and you could see all the bands really close by and some people even got take selfies with him.

Sponge, Lit, Everclear, Sugar Ray! They were all amazing musicians and put on a great show! They interacted with the crowd, sang to a lady on stage, sent someone out to deliver some guitar picks to my 11 year old daughter (she was on cloud 9), they posed for pictures and autographed items! They surprised people at random for free meet and greets. They walked around like they weren't famous. If I wasn't already a fan, I would be after a show like that.

The only complaint I could possibly have was the short sets. Considering it was only a state fair, I was surprised that everyone brought their A game. The bands all signed autographs and took pictures with the fans which was a very nice touch.

The experience was billed as having access to a private acoustical performance and pictures with the band. It was this and much more. Art took the time to privately speak with each of the people there, as did band members Dave and Freddy. I have met the band before at merchandise signings and this was by far the best experience. They performed Santa Monica for us and it was just beautiful. The concert itself was a wonderful experience. The set list is not the same at each performance I have seen this year and it is nice to have a variety. I had never seen lit in concert before and they were an awesome act. We were in front and the band shared their guitar picks with us.

My friend and I really enjoy alternative rock. We were there to see Everclear but we were both very impressed with Sponge and Lit. Everclear rocked it as usual. Great playing. Vocals were a little strained but that's to be expected from older bands. We were both not big fans of Sugar Ray. Left before the end of the concert. Too much schmoozing of the crowd. We'd wished we'd had a swig of beer for every time he mentioned ARIZONA. Overall great show. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it to others who are fans of the bands.

It was great to be able to meet the band and talk to them I really didn't know anything about the band so before I went I decided to read a little about them the drummers birthday was this month so I bought him a drum key but when I got there they had a different drummer so they gave it to their manager to give to him it was hard to talk to Art because everyone wanted to meet him the other member were very friendly and helpful there were some people trying to get things signed and pictures to sell but most of the people were really good fan I like their music but I was going to see Lit I met AJ his mother and step father when they lived in Placentia a struggling middle class family.

We did the pre-show meet and greet with Everclear, which was a lot of fun. The guys were really cool to talk to. I really enjoyed dancing around to all the bands. I came mostly to see Everclear, but their microphones weren't turned up quite enough, so the sound was a little disappointing. Sugar Ray put on a really good show, and I felt that he really connected with the audience. Overall I am glad that I went.

I have seen Everclear in the past and they were ok. This show they were not so good. I'm not sure what the deal was but when Everclear and Fuel were on, the music totally overpowered the vocals. Setlists for all bands were good and full of hits. I would not recommend this show for American HiFi, Fuel or Everclear, but The Toadies were well worth the admission price alone. They sounded great! The other 3 bands sounded like they were in a battle of the bands contest. Toadies were lightyears better than the other 3 bands put together. Bottom line: I would recommend this show for The Toadies alone.

Art Alexakis didn't have it tonight. The Everclear set was the line downer of the night. While they played everything you would want to hear, Alexakus forgot who he was playing with and was inaudible most of the time, blame it on mic positioning and mumbling, or that he's 50. This would've been a 5 star concert if not for my issue with Alexakis' performance. Fuel, 100% on their game. I wish Carl Bell was still writing for Fuel!!! Scallion never sounds better than when he's rocking Bell's lyrics... American Hi-fi kicked it off right. And the band was super cool, definitely one of the better band meet and greet experiences. VT Lewis tho! Wow, Toadies sound great. Put on a fantastic set. If all the groups put out new albums, Toadies will be the one to snag. At age 50, ripping the vocals the way he does, and hasn't lost a step! And they were an awesome meet/greet!

I took my 24 yr old daughter as she grew up with Fuel and the Toadies. They did not disappoint, we had a blast. We were able to see Fuel last summer in Indy on Georgia St. and this show was better, louder. We worth the over 2 hour drive. Will do it again next year if they have the same lineup.

The show was great! The Toadies were fantastic!! Looking forward to their new record in the fall! Fuel was very good as well!! Loved them! American Hi-Fi opened the show and were fine. Everclear was OK. Very interactive with the crowd, but the vocals were off. Reminded me of Whitney Houston in her later years, when she lost her 'voice' and kind of spoke, kind of sung, the lyrics. But The Toadies and Fuel were well worth it!!!
