this show is as close as your going to get to the real Lucy and Desi. I am a HUGE Lucille Ball fan and this show portrayed them perfectly. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a lucy fan or just wants a good laugh. i was very lucky to also have a meet and greet and they were so nice and just fun to hang out with. i couldn't have had a better experience!

The show was great on nostalgia if you were an original "I Love Lucy" fan. The cast at our show was full of energy. The timing was great. The costumes were colorful and spot on for the period. But the laughs were few, sorry to say. I guess the jokes were from the 1950's. Very tame. Loved the commercials and the premise of this kind of show..

The show was supposed to be a recreation of a live filming of a show for TV, but the prop cameras were not used to identify, or set off, the scenes that were being filmed. So the whole show came across as a mediocre town players production. The only bright scene was the Lucy and Rici song and dance number, but it seems they had stepped out of the theme for that.

It was wonderful! I waited a long time for the show to come close to home and it finally did. I really felt as if time had turned back to the 1950's and I was watching the actual taping of the show at the Desilu Studios. Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel were amazing and If the show comes back to NY or NJ again, I will be there with a smile on face! I loved Lucy!!!

The show was very enjoyable. An entertaining experience of a 50's TV recording session, complete with advertisements from Alka Seltser, Brillcreme and "Drive you Chevrolet across the USA". The cast, with it's uncanny resemblance to Ricky, Lucy, Fred and Ethel was topped only by the amazing voice recognition with the original cast. Many surprises. Be punctual. If you use the will call window bring your confirmation number. Peripheral seating is obstructed. We moved to center once show began.

I had heard good reviews of this show, and it exceeded my expectations. The cast was amazing--they looked, sounded, and acted just like the originals, so much that I felt like I was watching a colorized episode. I'm a lifelong Lucy fan and could not get over how authentic this production was. In addition to the major players, the announcer and supporting players (doing the commercials and other bits) were wonderful. I highly recommend this show to any Lucy fans, you will not be disappointed.

This was such a good show. I'm a huge Lucille Ball fan so I'm always critical of anyone that attempts to imitate the Queen. Even though no one can do what Lucille Ball did, this actress did a good job. Everyone in the show was great. The highlight of the show may have been the announcer. He was so funny and was quick on his feet when working with an audience member that he brought up on stage. I was also impressed by how accurate the costumes were for each scene. They were identical to what was used in each scene of the actual show. The commercials were so entertaining. They were able to make 50's references without being corny. If they do another show with 2 different episodes I'd go again.

What a great idea to put this show together and to include the types of commercials it ran with. The show brought back such great memories. We enjoyed the two episodes very much and would have enjoyed at least one more episode- perhaps one of their more famous ones- Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory or the vitametavegamin commercial. I would love to go again with two or more different episodes.

My brother and I had bought these tickets for our mom as a surprise. She is the biggest I Love Lucy fan that I know. It was so amazing to hear my mom's most genuine, real laugh come out during the entire show. Even with my brother being in a wheelchair, the seats were easy to get to and we still had a great view. We all really enjoyed the funny commercials and enjoyed how the performers involved the audience. My only complaint is that I wish it would have been longer since it was such a great show!!!

The actors did very well! They obviously watched plenty of episodes to embrace the characters to the different funny faces they made and mannerisms. It was so fun! Ricky had a great accent and bad English. LUCY was hilarious with her neighbors. They definitely used our favorite lines in the show. I liked the "commercials" they did that were part of the show. I Love Lucy was a delight. Everyone in the cast performed so well in character. Not only did they act like the real characters., they even sounded like the real characters. The play brought back so many memories of watching the TV show as a child. The commercials were fun also. I recalled most of the words to the commercials. A much younger person who sat next to me found it difficult to believe commercials were actually like the ones presented on stage. Times have certainly changed. I feel privileged to have seen the original I Love Lucy series and also feel privileged to have seen parts of it relived on stage. Thank you for a wonderful production.

The sketches were pretty right on to their originals. The main characters especially Ricky Ricardo character did a good job impersonating Desi Arnaz. The Fred Mertz character needed to be a little more comedic. But all in all it was entertaining but slightly amateurish. We may seem a bit critical but we lived in the Los Angeles area for 30+ years and saw many theactrical performances both professionals in LA and Hollywood as well as in our city.

I took my wife to this show, as we are both fans of "I Love Lucy" - my wife, in particular. This show did not disappoint. It took a few minutes to get used to the idea of "someone else" filling the roles we all know so well, but once we got into the show it was very VERY good. The cast was tremendous - all of them, including the "host" and the supporting cast of dancers, singers, the band. All excellent, and funny! I am typically very critical when it comes to live performances. I don't even go to concerts anymore because I'd rather hear music than see someone perform it. But this was an outstanding show. Well paced, with no slow spots. I'd actually pay to see it again if they came back with new episodes.

My friend and I enjoyed everything preparing for the show - from the I Love Lucy beverage (and Keep cup from the Civic Cntr) to the articles offered for sale - and watching in aww that wonderful little lady for 1952 meeting and greeting the other guests. The show itself was fun - the actors wonderful and the announcer and "commercials" made you feel you could really be there. My only complaint was w/ the Civic Center itself - there was some STRONG fragrance that seemed to have been used as and air freshener or cleaner and it cause a bit of a headache, at one point I had to close my eyes _ so I missed some of the show.

From the time the curtain opened till the lights went out, you felt like you were in Hollywood California in the 50's. The announcer was fantastic and kept it realistic to that era. My daughter, who is 28, began watching re-runs of I Love Lucy as a very small child...2-3 years old. She was so enamored with her she watched the video's daily. She began collecting I Love Lucy memorabilia and had hundreds of items. As an adult with a daughter of her own, still never a day passes that she and my granddaughter don't watch multiple episodes of I Love Lucy. She knows the dialogue by heart. So it was a no-brainer when the opportunity to see I Love Lucy Live On Stage came along. My daughter and I attended, as my granddaughter is still too young. It was phenomenal and left us wanting more. Fabulous production, could see it again and again.

The cast and crew did an outstanding job of simulating the taping of two episodes of "I Love Lucy" in the 1950s. The familiarity with the two episodes and the entire series made for a comforting experience. The actors did a good job of portraying four of the most well known television actors in one of the most popular situation comedies of all time. Dezi's signature "Bobalou" number was spot on. The musicians nailed all the music. This is more than just nostalgia, it is fine acting and staging.

The logistics of actually doing this type of production is overwhelming. Kudos to the cast! The band was awesome! The set was exceptional! Had a very good time at this show. Lots of laughs but I do think you have to be a Fan of the Lucy form of humor as some in the audience were hardly laughing at all. The show takes you back to the DesiLu studios in California to watch the filming of. Two episodes of the show. Including the corny commercials of the time. Lucy and Ricky were spot on with a terrific supporting cast. My only criticism was that the show ran for 1 hour 45 minutes with no intermission which makes things a bit uncomfortable towards the end.

I Love Lucy is a very imaginative concept. The fact that you're watching a live theater show meant to depict the live taping of a TV show which itself was part show and part reality (since Desi and Lucy were really married) is quite a convoluted concept. They pulled it off quite well, and I must say it was unique. The characters playing Ethel, Fred, Ricky and Lucy were spectacular likenesses of the real characters. Ricky had the tone, inflection and accent of the real deal. And same goes for Lucy...plus her facial expressions had me thinking that the real Lucy was on stage. The casting in itself was the real treat...and I'd recommend seeing this show simply on that alone. The story line itself was the low point...and was lacking. The 'commercials' got very old very quickly...and they were painfully long and boring. The first few times it was cute, but after that I started cringing every time the crystal singers got on stage. Would have much preferred a third 'taping' of another episode of an I Love Lucy show...instead of all of the commercials. Also, this is the first live performance I've ever been to that did not have an intermission! It wasn't a deal breaker...although would have been nice to know that in advance. So just be aware you won't have a bio break during this ~100-minute performance.

I absolutely enjoyed the show. The cast did an amazing job with their performance. It was a surreal experience to be watching the show in color. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the cast performed.

The show was excellent. The actors accurately portrayed the mannerisms and, in the case of Ricky, the accent. Almost made you think it was the real Ricky, Lucy, Fred & Ethel. Would recommend it to everyone!

Very well done show. Having studied a great deal about "old television" and Desilu, I thought it was great...right down to the commercials. I would highly recommend it to anyone that was breathing in that era. I would watch it again and again! Thanks for a wonderful experience.

It was like going to hear your favorite rock band growing and anticipating every classic hit. Except this was seeing all those hilarious antics you remembered from those old TV episodes. Very well done, very believable, very entertaining!

Attended with my daughter and a friend. All 3 of us really enjoyed the show. The actors were so well cast that we forgot that we were not watching the "real" actors!!

So much more than I expected. It was like being in the audience for the shooting of an actual episode back in the early fifties. The commercials were fabulous! The actor who played Ricky was spot on. Have already spread the word to friends in other cities. What a blast from the past -- and so well done.

Was not sure of the detail of the presentation that we were going to see, but it was done as a first rate off Broadway play. Represented all aspects of the show we have seen and loved on TV, and you could actually picture the events that happened behind the scenes too. Enjoyed the flash back to the past with the live commercials that they included also.

Great stage production. Actually felt like you were in the audience during the live television filming as done in the 50's. Performers were great and Ricki was awesome!

I had a grin on my face the whole show, from the commercials, singing and dancing to the actual recreations of the taping of the I Love Lucy show. The characters were realistic and funny and they really stuck to the actual wording of the original show. The actor who played Ricky Ricardo was not only adorable and probably the closest in looks to his character, but SO talented in singing and sounded like Desi Arnaz. I actually wanted "more" when it was over. I could have watched a couple more episodes and been happy!
