Great show! We caught this show a few years ago as well. While Saturday 's show was a lot of fun, it couldn't touch the last show we saw. This show was obviously a tribute. The last show was like seeing Oingo again. All in all though, we really enjoyed the show. Hope Johnny continues these shows!

What a fun show! I went in there knowing one song--Dead Man's Party--but enjoyed every one they played!

I've been a fan of Oingo Boingo for a loooong time, and seeing Johnny Vatos brought back great memories. They had guest apperances by Steve Bartek (guitar) and John Avila (bass) and it made it even more like old times. Galaxy Theater is a great venue. Small enough where no matter where you are you have a great view, and informal to where you can walk up right to the front of the stage. The only thing I feel could have been a little bit better was the sound. Way too loud for such a small place. Turn it down a bit and I would have given a 5 star. I would defenetly recomend it to any Boingo fan and can't wait to see them again.

The show was great. The band was amazing and it felt like Oingo Boingo minus Elfman. I was so happy to see so mant of them back together playing again Alvalar did a version of Dead Man's Party to Fever which was a surprising delight The singer was good but stumbled on some of the lyrics but he had good energy. Overall it was a great set and a spectacular band.

What can I say.. Master and he does it like no other. I don't care what anyone else says. No one does it better. I'm a musician too.. Its ear candy.. Its inspiring to see how music is really played. He and his band are amazingly tight, they play the songs beautifully. Can't wait to see em' again tonight at the galaxy! (Been to the Grove and HOB).

Great seeing and hearing Oingo Boingo music after so many years. Other than D. Elfman's replacement forgetting the lyrics on a few songs(Johnny hopped on the mic and helped him out), it was a fun fun night! With Johnny, Carl, and Sluggo the only Oingo Boingo members up there, the band did a great job recreating the sounds and songs we all love. The lead guitar was spot on...and Johnny's son played with them and looked like he was having fun too.

I don't know why I keep coming back... I guess it's in hopes Danny shows up, but he never has. It seems that every year there are fewer Boingo members on stage (I think it was only two this time), and the band always seems like they just got together to play the songs, but never rehearsed them together. I don't know... I guess it just sucks that the tribute band (Dead Man's Party) actually puts on a MUCH better show than some of the original Boingo members.

I can't adequately express the joy and energy the music of Oingo Boingo brings out in me. The concert was amazing.... high energy, good times, GREAT music and fun. I spent the entire time dancing (no, bouncing), singing, screaming, laughing and smiling from ear to ear. I felt like a kid again. Thank you Johnny Vatos for bringing the best music of our generation back to life. Loved seeing so many of the original band members back together. Wish I could be that happy ALL the time. Only thing missing was our beloved Danny Elfman!

The venue and the parking was great! The show amazing, this group performed all of the Boingo songs to such perfection! Everyone was singing and dancing to the music, even me and I am considered a senior citizen, ha! Johnny Vatos and his talented group of musicians didn't miss a beat. They made you feel so welcome and part of the entire evening. He was so welcoming, funny, and oh yes, so very talented. May this tribute to Boingo tunes continue! Thank you ticketmaster for supporting this can't miss yearly event. Actually, I would like to see them perform more often!!!!

Even tho there was only a couple original band members the sound was amazingly close to watching Boingo live in the 80's (and early 90's)!!! I had a great time and hope Johnny does a Tribute every year for years to come!

Aside from the swearing they gave an enjoyable performance. The lead vocalist did an awesome job of simulating the old sound. They played every song you wanted to hear for those of us who remember the original group.

Great show, reminiscent of Halloween shows from the 80s and 90s. The venue sound engineer was clueless. Need someone who's heard the music before to set the sound board up and turn up channels when someone has a solo. Took way too long to make the sound good. This was not a reflection on the band, but the venue.

While the makeup of the group was different from past years, the show was just as enjoyable. Johnny Vatos has managed to pull together a group of good musicians, including his own son, Freddy, on bass, who were able to engage the audience of rabid Oingo Boingo fans and celebrate Halloween, as has been a tradition since Boingo's heyday. The lead singer was competent, although he did have a problem with some of the lyrics - but who wouldn't, unless you were a diehard fan? It was great to have keyboardist Carl Graves back, and lots of fun to see him sing Goodbye, Goodbye. As usual, Sluggo had his moments in the spotlight, including performing a new song, which was well-received. Doug Lacy was solid in his pirate costume, playing the accordion and keyboards as always. The devil in the blue dress, Johnny Vatos should be commended for continuing the annual event, while Danny Elfman continues to try to bury the memories, as he has moved on with his career as a composer. Thank you, Johnny for keeping the dream alive, and bringing it to a new generation of Boingoloids!
