My wife an I have seen the Capitol Steps at least five or six times since they opened at the Ronald Reagan Building. The skits and songs change over time, so you can go back every couple of years and at least half are new. They are still funny and always timely with their humor. Despite being political satire, they manage to keep the jokes relatively clean, if that s a consideration for you. Certainly, the highlight of each show is the Dirty Lies or Lirty Dies. The content changes but the first letter switching is like the funniest game of Mad Libs you ve ever played. If you don t know what Mad Libs are, you ll need to look it up. Anyway, a fun evening poking fun at many political figures, in the US and around the world.

My third Capitol Steps concert (May 2009) was the best yet. Outrageously funny, and not sparing a sole on the Hill--Democrat or Republican. Our group of six people ranged in their level of political awareness from "I don't really know anything" to political junkie--and everyone laughed and loved it. Definitely a trip-highlight for our out-of-town guests.

The Captiol Steps is a very clever comedy team that delivers incisive political satire. Both parties are skewered in equal measure. The sets and singing skills are borderline amateur, but the skits themselves can approach comic genius. While politicos will find the humor most enjoyable, the shows also makes fun of popular culture. The songs are a sendup of popular tunes with a funny twist. This show is perfect for political hounds, or tourists who want to round out their tour of the nation's captial with a light, clean show about the capital's principal industry. Like most comic reviews, there are hits and misses, but the former vastly outnumber the latter. The show is in the Ronald Reagan Building in the heart of the District. Parking can seem maze-like to out of towners. The theater is not far from Old Ebbit's Grill, and my family enjoyed a pre-theater dinner at this Washington landmark. As live comedy theater goes, the Capitol Steps is relatively affordable. The comedians are predominantly former congressional staff members, and their insider view of the politics of our nation's capital is obvious. A very enjoyable show.

I've been a fan for years; the Capitol Steps always deliver. Last night, they presented the usual mix of fresh new things (e.g., their take on the Sarah Palin resignation) and updates of classics (e.g., 40lk) refurbished to reflect the latest scandals. All were delightful. Moreover, they always look to be having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have while upright and fully dressed.

I have been to the Capitol Steps a couple of times in the last few months, April and then again in June. I was disappointed in the April visit - many of the skits were outdated. There were pieces on the Clinton and Obama campaigns from last year, for example. And one on the Olympics from last summer although the skit was hilarious. By June the campaign ones were gone and had been replaced with fresher material.

I have only visited DC twice. My youngest son now works there, so he shows me the town when I get to come. On my very first trip he took me to see Capitol Steps. On my second trip, I requested a trip back! There are so many wonderful sights to see in DC, but Capitol Steps is such a fun entertaining event I put it at the top of my "must do" list!

Having seen them before I was not surprised by how creative they can be. However, most of the numbers were old material and most of the new lyrics were to old songs. I'd recommend highly to those who have never seen or heard them before. I was in DC for meetings and took several Capitol Step "newby" friends who enjoyed them immensely.

Overall very good. The spoof on Octomom fell short of this groups' usual high standard of performance. Octomom offers a lot for the show to work with, but the dropping of the 8th baby was tacky. The Palin resignation aired at 4 PM and was in the skit at the 7:30 PM show. We have seen this group perform before and really enjoy it! Recommend.

Some of their skits were excellent, but a few had been in previous shows (we go every year to see the group). Considering how much Congressional and Presidential mis-steps have been in the news, not many of the skits made fun of the recent ones. The sound system in the Reagan Building was problematic, hard to hear some lines.

We saw the Steps on a night when the crowd was primarily a high school class, who didn't get many of the political references. The performers never gave up, and their material was amazing. They are simply the best at what they do. Kudos to all of them for giving it their best for a crowd that was not exactly attuned to the issues.

A very talented group of performers. The skits were clever and well done. My only disappointment was that, for the most part, they were to easy on the "power." When my family would visit from out of town, I used to look forward to taking them to the Capital steps. They comedy used to take jabs at all sides but not so much anymore. Most of the material is now aimed at the republicans, not even in a funny way but in a very mean way. A good example of this is the part they did on Sarah Huckabee. It was not funny in any form, it was just mean. Comedy should make you laugh at yourself and should be done in a way that if it is making fun of someone, that person would or should find it funny as well. When comedy is used to make someone feel small, it is no longer comedy. I don't see myself going back to the capital steps ever or for at least a very long time.

Second time seeing Capital Steps. This time took the family...all were thoroughly entertained. Great skits. Laugh out loud. Some repeats if you've gone before. Very clever

The most amazing show is town. And has been since 1981. DC needs comic relief and it doesn't get any better than this!

If you want the antidote to the angst afflicting you from the current political scene in DC, the prescription is to go see The Capitol Steps. I can't remember when I've laughed that hard or so thoroughly enjoyed a live performance. You don't have to be a political junkie to appreciate the humor as it cuts across all points of view and is delivered with precision and joy. Treat yourself and your friends. You won't regret it!
