Very intimate setting. Kongos were amazing. They played the new and old and were spot on. Thanks for a great time. Best of luck on your tour.

Arkells, The Joy Formidable, Kongos played Sunday night. Arkells did a nice job ramping everyone up. The Joy Formidable rocks hard! Kongos, I skipped them since I tried watching them 2 other times and it was just not for me. The event at Electric factory was overloaded with the smoke, a little too much fog. Maybe a little more light, it was kind of dark even though red/blue lights were on. It was smaller than I remember when I seen Hole play in the late 90s. good parking close by. I did not like the $12 extra charges on my ticket, $5 would be plenty.

I saw Kongos during their Lunatic Tour in 2015. So when I heard they were coming to Boston again on their Egomaniac tour, I knew I had to go. I even bought VIP. The show was fantastic. They have such a great energy that can't be beat in my opinion. Getting front row definitely made the experience better. The music was fantastic, and they interacted with the crowd a lot. Then came the meet and greet. These four guys were so awesome and nice to everyone. Definitely would reccomend.

These guys are fantastic. Id recommend them to anybody with two ears. They're going to be a force to be reckoned with very soon. Come With Me Now is great, don't get me wrong, but there's so much more to be discovered if that's the only KONGOS song you know. They can't make a song I don't like. Great concert, great band. See them if you can!

The Kongos have an eclectic set list. Their songs (thankfully) all sound different. It is not the repetitive pop crap you hear today. This concert blew me away.Their live performance sounded even better than their current album, Lunatic. That is unheard of today. You could tell that they don't auto tune and are genuine performers. Also, they are the only band that can make an accordion sound cool. They did a few duets with one of the guys from the opening act, and even those were flawless. (That guy was really good too). Kongos showed Columbus what it means to keep good music alive. I'd see them again any day.

I was so excited to hear that KONGOS was coming to Columbus. Even after only listening to them for a few months, I was determined to go see them sooner rather than later. The entire concert was phenomenal! The lead singer sounds incredible live, the drummer was so good, the guitarist was amazing, and my only small complaint of the whole thing was the accordion /key board player was placed in the far corner and I was unable to see he. I wish he would have come on center stage for some of his accordion solos because he's great and never in my life did I think I would hear a band and go "wow, because of this band i want to learn how to play the accordion now." They were all so wonderful and I loved it and I was certainly on a concert high for the next day and a half.

The kongos did not disappoint. The music was fantastic and the band truly exemplified what it means to be entertainers. They joked and interacted with the audience between songs and stayed after the show to meet the fans. I can't wait for them to come through again and look forward to the bands continued success.

The musical brothers of Kongos make up a very talented band. Their mix of musical styles is both anchored by the past but totally hip to what is happening today. They mixed elements of reggae and funk and hip hop and country and rock n' roll to put together a really great show. This is definitely a band to watch. When they have a bit more material and the money to travel with their pedal steel guitar, they will be selling out arenas.

I love this band! Seeing them in person was not disappointing at all. In addition to their songs that have strong rhythms you just have to move your body, the sound was loud like their music demands, and the light show was on point. They make it impossible not to get into the music. I brought my sister who doesn't listen to their music usually and she loved it! The only thing I could complain about was how long the opening acts took as there were two who both sang a good amount of songs- if it was a Saturday I would have been all for it, but it was a Wednesday. Regardless, I can't wait to see them in Boston again.

They are a great live band !! They all sing and play multiple instruments.... The entire band is awesome and play very well together! This is actually refreshing. This new age of pitch tuners and lip syncing (Kanye) of groups or musicians that can't sing live. Go see them..... you will not regret it !! :-)

The Kongos really know how to rock the crowd. I just love everything these boys bring to the stage. Even their opening acts were well loved; Colony House and Sir Sly. The Kongos have really upped their game since I last saw them in Albany, NY at a small bar called The Hollow. They have added a brilliant light/picture show to the mix and other technical features I can't even name. They are getting big and probably can't play in the small venues like your hometown watering hole like The Hollow. The Upstate Concert Hall "Northern Light" is bigger but definitely not one of my choice venues to see concerts.

The hottest band on the planet stopped in Clifton Park, NY and made the -20 something degrees outside feel fine! One of the happiest crowds fully engaged from the intro of Colony House, through the steady rock of Sir Sly, and pumped to maximum inflation when KONGOS hit the stage! A brilliant night and a wonderful group of performers! Kongos were better live than any band I've ever heard, including their acoustical performance for VIP's! Without a doubt, well worth waiting for and will see again and again. A delightful encounter and so many truly nice people in their entourage!

This is my third time seeing Kongos in the past three months. I went to a free concert in Providence hosted by WBRU, but I couldn't actually see the performance because of the huge crowd. I intentionally hung out by the merch stand for almost an hour after the performance ended in the hopes of meeting the guys. They are really nice guys who love making music. A few weeks later, I saw them opening for Kings of Leon as the first opener in front of Young the Giant. It was an unsatisfyingly short set. When the Lunatic Tour was announced, I knew I'd go. With Colony House (Silhouettes) and Sir Sly (Gold, You Haunt Me) as the opening acts, this was destined to be a night of great music. This is a must see band if you like good music with technically proficient musicians. Dylan Kongos is one of the best bassists I've seen in the past several years. His brothers are not to be outshined, however. All of the brothers can sing and play adeptly. Elder brother Johnny Kongos namesake of the family patriarch chooses to showcase his artistry on the accordion rather than jamming out on the keyboard. This truly sets him apart from other keyboardists and hints at a sense of humor that might not be expected from the gruff looking bear of a man. Danny Kongos uses a slide during his showcase moment, and Jesse is the rare drummer/vocalist breed. There are multiple flavors of music from their traditional South African cultures, but also reggae and hip hop. The cover of New Order's Blue Monday is almost unrecognizable, but once you figure it out, you realize how stunning and intriguing a departure it is, and I mean that in the best sense. Obvious highlights are Come With Me Now and I'm Only Joking. Escape is a mellow ballad, but spotlights the band's understanding of melody and tone. It can reach you deeply inside if you open up to it. Every band delivered. Colony House provided a strong set. This Nashville band, which contains a pair of siblings as required in this day and age, has excellent chops. If the radio stations continue their support following the strength of Silhouettes, this band has a bright future. The best part of the set is when they break into a '70s style rock song that ends the set with a bang. Sir Sly's moody lighting belied the energy of the music provided by the band. The trio was augmented by additional musicians adding to the energy. Now on their third single on Alt Nation, it looks like this band can expect another circuit of the United States. I look forward to the opportunity to see them again!

It was so awesome. I got up to the front for the kongos, they were as adorable as ever and so so up beat and had the whole crowd moving... Colony house who started was absolutely great and so was sir sly! Afterwards I met the whole bands colony house and sir sly and they were all so nice. I didn't get a chance to meet the Kongos though because you needed vip. The kongos were so active and up beat in stage I can't express how amazing they were. And the smoke rings they had were so awesome and yeah! They sounded just as they do in recordings, if not better and it was over all an amazing performance. I would totally go see them all again and I really hope they all come back(:

The Kongos put on a spectacular and intimate performance in Delmar Hall. Sadly we missed the band Wild Wild due to heavy traffic in the city & detours. We did see the band Bleached which was Awesome. Then the band the Arkelles played next & they were really good. Next was the Stumbellas who were unforgettable. After they were done playing they did a meet and greet under the big tent in the back. Anyone was allowed to enjoy this not just a select few which I think all bands should do at all concerts. My 3 kids (Ages: 13, 10 & 8) took some pics with them & they told me that "they were a very nice band". The closing band was the KONGOS which finished out a great day of fun at Festival Pier. The only 2 things that were disappointing were the Stumbellas didn't have any XL tshirts to sell so I could have gotten it signed. Next when we tried to use the 5 tickets we had to get in they said that only 3 were valid. Maybe if the boxes that they scan in had numbers underneath then someone would know that they printed the same ticket twice but they didn't. Thank goodness for the kindness of a stranger who had a spare set of tickets & gave them to us.

The show would have been fantastic if the bass had not overpowered everything else. I could just barely hear the vocals, the accordion, and the guitars. This was a huge problem during the Kongos' set; not so much so with the other two bands. Someone told me the bass is turned up because the kids like it. This was not a punk or hip-hop show. The Kongos need balanced properly to sound good. The tour needs a sound man that is mature enough to balance everything to make the band sound the best they can, not just what a bunch of 15 year-olds might want. I am glad I had paid extra to hear the Kongos acoustic set. Their voices blend beautifully. I rate the stage show music 1 star because of the overpowering bass; everything else 5 stars.

The first band Colony House was a great way to start the show. Quite polished. Sir Sly did exactly what they supposed to do. Warm us up and prepare us for one hell of night. I was turned on to KONGOS probably two years ago on satellite radio. Loved them and especially the addition of a accordion/keyboardist. Really what other Alternative/Rock Band can do that. Pull off playing with an accordion and make KONGOS sound different then anyone else. They played practically everything from their debut album, which is awesome front to back. They did a cover of the song "Eleanor Rigby" and absolutely made it their own and it was over the top good. Stage AE in Pittsburgh is the place to see a band up close and personal. Stage AE does need to add some seating that doesn't require paying for VIP. They have a huge bar downstairs and some bar stools would be nice. They did have some stadium style seats upstairs which were first come first serve, but now they will not let you use them. Bummer

We loved all the staff working for Kongos, they were all so sweet. And the performance was so awesome. We were right in front of Danny and his awesome guitar playing. And loved how Jesse's drum kit was the front center of the stage. Can't believe how he drums and sings. And Johnny on piano and of course the famous accordion and beard. How cool is that in a band. And then Dylan, on bass, guitar and his soulful singing and beautiful flowy hair. The beat was so awesome to I'm Only Joking, and the smoke rings flying out in to the crowd were a surprise. Really liked the screen in back of them, showing old pictures, I couldn't see most of them from the front right though.

I enjoyed hearing all of my favorite songs on Lunatic, as well as songs from their upcoming album. "Take Me Back" was probably my favorite song to hear live - so haunting. I was also pleasantly surprised to find their debut album for sale as well. I cannot wait for these guys to come back to Pittsburgh! Colony House and Sir Sly were awesome as well. GREAT show!

The band is so talented, and because they don't post produce their songs much, they sounded exactly the same live, but even more crisp! They also know a thing or 2 about showmanship, lots of cool surprises. The Metropolis is a nice venue. Not 5 stars because the 2 opening bands were bad.

I liked that they played more that was on their CD. They are quite talented. I like the fact that there isn't one main singer. This family has got it! Can't wait for them to come back!!

All 3 acts: Colony House, Sir Sly, and The Kongos were wonderful. The house was packed before the end of the second opener and rightly so. It was impossible not to dance. I'll see any of them again!

We truly went because Sir Sly was in the line up, but we all were pleasantly surprised by how much we loved, loved, loved the sound of Colony House Band - great vibe and energy to the band members and the music they shared. It was great seeing Sir Sly again, and even though Landon was not feeling well the group put on a great show and shared their unique sound in many ways. Another wonderful part of the night was witnessing The Kongos for a 2nd time and this time it was much more up close and personal. The guys are so very talented, and their stage show is one to remember. I will be listening for more of their music now that I have had the pleasure to enjoy them in a wonderful venue such as the Ritz Ybor.

The opening bands Colony House and Sir Sly were wonderful, better than the headliner to be completely honest. I saw Kongos 8 months ago and they had this spark to them, and I understand they must be bored of the same songs, but they honestly sounded like they didn't care anymore.

This show was great. I love the intimate feel of center stage, you lose that feeling at larger venues. I only knew few of Kongos songs, I went with a friend who really loved them. I was super surprised at how good of a show it was for the price. My only issue was the mics were a little on the low side. Over the actual music, you had to strain to hear them on certain songs.

KONGOS put on an incredible show. Not only were their popular songs even better live but they also included some great covers and new songs into their setlist. They really got the crowd going and I'd love to see them live again!

Absolutely Love KONGOS . The show was incredible, can't say enough. They are a real class act. Extremely talented and very polite. Best time I have had at a concert in a long time. Sir Sly and Colony House were also very good. Good venue. Would definitely come back.

The Kongos were fantastic. most importantly, the sound technicians did a tremendous job of allowing all three bands to shine, not just the Kongos. Sir Sly and Colony House both have great things ahead for them. loved the show i saw the Kongos at ACL in Oct 2014, and this show was as strong, if not stronger and tighter.

The best way to describe it would be to say that it was absolutely electrifying!!! Colony House, Sir Sly, and Kongos all put on an incredible show and have such amazing and rocking compatibility between band mates that is very clear on stage when the guitarist looks at the drummer and the both rock out together!

I have to say that I wasn't excited about the concert moving from Sokol Hall to Sokol Underground when I arrived. But with the number of patrons and the more "bar" like setting I got into it with the first two bands. Unfortunately Kongos I didn't appear to take the same pleasure in playing for a small crowd and engaging them. It would have been better if they took the small venue and used it as a chance to really connect on a more personal level with their fans. I guess some bands thrive more and are energized more when they have thousands to play for.

This was my 1st time attending an event at the Musikfest Café. I really enjoyed the venue. It was beautiful and no matter where you were you were close to the stage. I couldn't believe that a band that was so popular and that we loved, was at a venue that was close to our home and was such an intimate setting. I attended the concert with my Niece, my 17yr old daughter, and my 12 yr old son. It was my son's 1st concert. My son is a big Kongos fan, and after the event, an even BIGGER fan! They put on an AMAZING show. It was so energizing throughout the entire concert. My son talked about it for several days after the concert! I was pleasantly surprised by the event too and I am exciting to see what great things come from Kongos in the future!

My friends and I saw the kongos at firefly in Deleware over the summer and fell in love instantly. They've improved so much since then, and I'm not entirely sure how because they were amazing to begin with. I loved the venue, it made it so much more intimate. They sounded great. I love the meet and greet that they always do. Overall it was magical as always. Sidenote: the Breakes were phenominal.
