Honestly, I attend a lot of 98KUPD's shows and they're usually all pretty great. 98 does a good job of getting good rock shows to the valley. That said, when they created last years Desert Uprising, it was awesome. For the first time really, Arizona had a two day rock fest which usually stays reserved for bigger places like California. It's awesome they were able to bring that to town for us. So this years was no different and I'm glad we had a second one. I think we need to have one like this every year at the end of summer. I've heard people complain about the line up on one day or the other, but that's not in control all the time. For instance, day one was a stop by the rock alligence tour and day two was the original Uproar tour listing. I think this is a great way to bring a good time to all the people of Arizona and it's definitely a good way to end the summer for us. Time to make sure we do this every year.

We weren't there for the entire event, and we just saw the last 3 bands - Halestorm, Volbeat and Avenged Sevenfold. They were all fantastic. Halestorm really put on a great show - Lzzy sounded great live and really knows how to put on a show. I liked them before, but seeing them live officially made me a fan! I would go see just them, not just as part of a bigger lineup. I already loved Volbeat, and was not disappointed by them live. At first, the energy seemed a little low - I think a lot of the concert-goers weren't really familiar with them. Once they played more recognizable songs, the crowd's energy picked up, and so did Volbeat's. They didn't play my absolute favorite song, Fallen, but I don't think that song really fits in with the overall feel of Desert Uprising. Finally, Avenged Sevenfold took the stage...and they were amazing as always! My husband, who isn't as big of a fan of theirs as I am, had never seen them and I have been telling him for a while now that he should. He turned to me after the first song and said "you were right". They are one of the best live bands out there right now - they sound great, have great energy and M. Shadows is a top-notch frontman. They played songs from all over their extensive discography and got the crowd involved. I would see them every time they are in town, which isn't often enough. The only slightly disappointing part was because it was an all-day festival and the show had to be finished by 11:00 due to the noise ordinance, they could not play as long as I would have liked.

The concert itself was a completely AWESOME show!! The mosh pits, the fires and the smoke on the lawn was the most distracting and immature part that was hard to enjoy the show.

As festivals go 98KUPD put on a excellent show. The second or Jager stage is the same one they use for Mayhem including the speaker system. This really is the festivals only flaw, the speaker cabinets sound like crap, and the mix is worse. With the size of that PA you would think it would sound much better. The main stage makes up for it however, and all 5 bands Friday night were very good to great. There was little doubt that the night belonged to Rob Zombie. Marylin Manson was no match, although he was very good. The surprise of the day was both All That Remains and Cory Taylor, Cory played an all acoustic set and it was awesome. You couldn't ask for a better line up considering this was the first Uprising, and that was a nice surprise.

I only saw the last 2 shows Friday night, but I no complaints. I thought the ticket prices were a great deal, especially given how many bands were listed. I would definitely attend a similar future event as long as there were big names that I enjoyed

Friday was a little disappointing, Manson looked and sounded fatigued. But Rob Zombie was on fire, he had a great show. On Saturday, I was thoroughly impressed with POD and the compassion for a downed fan in the front, they stopped the show to make sure he was well attended to. Of course, the main stage tore it up. Aaron Lewis did however, seem less interested in being there than I had hoped for. It was the first time I've seen Shinedown, and it definitely will not be the last. GodSmack was amazining as usual, and it was great seeing Vinnie Paul and the guys from Hell Yeah again, pure musical genius on stage. I would recommend this show to everybody.

The concert was overall great. The only thing I can complain about was the VIP. We purchased the VIP passes thinking we would have backstage access. Unfortunately all VIP didn't have access, and that disappointed everyone I talked to that had VIP..

Let me preface this review by stating for the record that I HATE, HATE, HATE festival shows. I'm very particular about who I like to see in concert, and I tend to get bored sitting through the performances of bands that aren't among my favorites. Therefore I think it's a waste of money to pay for a show featuring 8-10 bands, while I only show up to watch the last one or two and am subsequently rewarded with a shorter-than-usual set. However I couldn't let an opportunity to see AIC pass me by so I sucked it up and shelled out $99 (+ the obligatory TM fees) to see the show. I arrived right before Jane's Addiction; they sounded good and I actually like a handful of their songs, so they were definitely worth seeing. Their stage show was a little on the freaky side, not that there's anything wrong with that. Then came the headliner. Alice in Chains sounded fantastic and I enjoyed the setlist immensely. I was glad to see William DuVall act the part of lead singer as Jerry Cantrell handled much of the vocals during their first reunion tour - not that he isn't a great singer, but they hired a new lead singer for a reason. I would have liked a few more songs, which they probably would have played had this been their headlining tour instead of a festival, but I digress.

We had a horrible VIP experience, barely anything promised was delivered! The bands sounded great, the only good part of the day. I can't upload any pics since someone also stole my camera.

For the second straight year and for the second installment of Desert Uprising, day one has been better than Mayhemfest. A great show is always defined by it's lineup, and this years day one lineup was as good as it gets. Second stage aside which show cased the amazing Airbourne, the main stage was loaded. Halestorm Volbeat and Avenged Seven Fold was far and away worth the price of the ticket. Although Desert Uprising is a newer festival, it is making a great name for itself. If they keep the stellar lineups coming, this will be the premier event for summers to come.

The show was good. One band stood head and shoulders above the others - Volbeat. WOW! I wish they would have played longer. They should have been the headliner. I would definitely go see them again!

Day 1 in phoenix was great. Digital Summer opened, Marilyn Manson was fantastic but Zombiec was absolutely insane. Day 2 was not so good until Staind hit the stage. They were great and Godsmack was better. Cannot believe shinedown was the closing act though.

I went to both nights of the 98KUPD Desert Uprising tour, and I have to say the second night was the best for me! P.O.D., Hellyeah, Staind, Godsmack, and Seether did great performances. The second night was much louder also. The first night with Manson and Rob Zombie were still great shows as well. I was disappointed when I heard Papa Roach couldn't make it, but was still very impressed with the shows. The Rockstar Energy tent was awesome too since they were giving away Rockstar drinks!!!

Like the title says, what a great concert. Great selection of bands, all of them sounded great. The only negative thing I have to say, was the PHX heat was rough. Once the sun went down, not bad at all. I hope everyone made enough money to want to do it again next year. First time for seeing some bands & saw some as a repeat, which was great.

Overall the bands were fantastic. Staind, HellYeah, Buck Cherry and Godsmack were all amazing. I do think Rob Zombie should stick to television and movie producing. Just how many mechanical monsters can you drag out on stage? I love Adelitas Way but five songs just wasn't enough. They only played their new stuff. I know you are trying to get everyone to buy it but remember that people are inspired by ALL of your music.

Went both days. Had VIP Bordello tickets. Only a couple things that should have been done better. Music between sets should not have been CLASSIC rock. Too boring. Also, the "after party" needed better entertainment. Dance / club mix is not what you have after a metal show. We are metal heads....not trancers!

BADASS CONCERT!! This event rocked!! I had VIP Pit tickets and was kept informed of the event details, what to bring and what not to bring, where to park, etc. This was definitely a smooth transaction all the way around!! Manson rocked it hard, but Zombie brought down the house!!!
