I really enjoy the Perfectomundo album so I loved this show. The two drummers and two keyboard players were fantastic along with the guy on the "other stuff". Billy is one of the great guitar players of this time. He was funny and personable onstge telling many stories. I hated for this one to end.

Gotta see this show! Billy H still has so much creative fuel in the tank that he needs to head out on his own with a new band of compadres . Don't miss this!

Up front band was fantastic. Billy played barely an hour. Couldn't hear or understand a word he said or sang. We have seen and loved ZZTop. This was PITIFUL! !

First night of the tour. Always enjoy BG. The venue had some sound issues with his vocals, but sure that that will be worked out. Band was pretty tight.

the band consisted of 2 female drummers. 2 Hammond B-3 keyboardist, a conga/timbale/vocalist/percussionist guy and Billy. The stage set up was clean, clear of clutter but all the amps needed for good volume and sound quality. The drummers had a chance to show off their talent going back and forth in solos. Billy had great energy and played without break. Loved the venue...loved the show.

Small theatre - NOT sold out. NO bass player. One-arm mix & short shrift for the opening act (which still seemed better organized than the BFGs). The set was haphazardly organized. Billy solicited input from the audience then made a point of ignoring it.

I really enjoyed Billy Gibbons and his music! My only complaint was the show was less than an hour long! Given ticket prices, I was expecting a real show - not an abbreviated teaser! I could not recommend the show to a friend knowing they would pay for a show/concert but only get the mini-version! Big disappointment to be out of a concert by10pm that started with an opening act that played for nearly an hour!

It was an awesome concert. The opening band rocked then Billy and his band mates rocked the house down. The venue was perfect Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. I will definitely be going there again.

Billy Gibbons fronting a six piece band, (guitar, Hammond organ, electric piano, conga and other percussion, and two drummers), played songs off his first solo album. There were a few ZZ tunes thrown in for fun and to hear them played by this group was quite different than the usual three members treatment. The band is VERY tight and all are seasoned professionals, although the drummers, both women, do seem young. As Billy comments, the drummers are stealing the show. The final encore was Led Zepplins Whole Lotta Love with Alex Garza on vocals. Along with the excellent opening act, this was the best concert I've seen in a while.

Billy Gibbons is an amazing guitar player. Don't miss a chance to see him perform. The BFG's are a fun mix of sight and sound. Don't expect a ZZ Top set list. Mr. Gibbons is sooooo good.

I love Billy Gibbons, and his work with ZZ Top, but this show seemed disorganized, and it looked more like a jam session than a concert. I found the show to be short.

Let me begin by qualifying my fan status. I've been listening to Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top since almost getting thrown out of the house for playing side two of "Fandango" at top volume OVER AND OVER again. I wanted to know every single lick. That was in 1975. I've followed the bearded one ever since, loving the good stuff and begrudging the commercial ventures. When I got a chance to catch the good Reverend's new project, I jumped at the chance, and was ready when Ticketmaster started selling. I was so stoked I accidentally bought the VIP package, but thought, what the hell- it's THE Billy Gibbons. Hearing the advance cuts on the album just reinforced my excitement- it's some good stuff. Let me begin by giving kudos to the band. Billy put together one of the baddest blues/funk/Cubano band you'd ever want to hear. Special shout out to Martine GuiGui on keys, Alx Garza on percussion, vocals and guitars, and (sisters?) SoZo and Melanie DeLarenzo were awesome. Then there was Billy. Billy was like a fish out of water. After opening with two cuts from his excellent new album, Perfectamundo, Billy pulled out a concert classic- "What do you guys want to hear?" Usually, that's just patronizing stage chatter, and the band has a set list ready. Billy really didn't seem to know where he was going to go. He seemed markedly uncomfortable in the music setting he had created, and rather than taking a turn at the B-3 or timbales, he held fast to ZZ Top approved guitar licks- which didn't always support the song. The Top songs he played were deep cuts that weren't served by the extra percussion or (2) B-3's. It seemed to me that Billy just couldn't commit to the new sound, and really leaned on his persona and old licks rather than just diving into the new music. Beethoven said, "I don't care if you play the wrong note, but it's unforgivable not to play it with passion." I hate to say it, but without completely committing to his now sound, the show would have been better had Billy just given the band the stage. He truly seemed uncomfortable and out of place, both with the music and with the small venue. Particularly lame was a mash-up rock/funk/rap piece that started out with a lackluster "Communication Breakdown" opening that (luckily) evolved into a funkier thing- but Billy's tone, always the core of his appeal, was thin and just didn't cut it for a Zeppelin snatch. I can only hope that Billy will get it right for the tour. Perfectamundo is a great album, and all the cuts should be played in concert- it's the only material the band has. If you're going to see ZZ Top, you should wait for the next tour. If Billy's smart, he'll limit his ZZ Top tunes to just the stuff that really suits that band- I was thinking "Tube Snake Boogie" with all the drums, or any of his slow smoking stuff to show off those organs. If I could tell him one thing, it would be "You can make all of the people happy some of the time, and some of the people all of the time- but if you try to make all of the people happy all of the time, you're going to do a lot of shows that are really mediocre." Commit, Billy. Let the boys from LaGrange take this tour off. Be the leader you are, and work that new album. If people came to see ZZ Top, maybe next time they'll pay attention to the playbill- or better yet, maybe they'll be inspired to pick up some Tito Puente.

Billy put on quite a show as he fronted two keyboards (incl a very skilled Hammond B3 operator), two talented lady drummers and a Latin percussionist. Billy stuck mostly to his new album Perfectamundo, but pulled some old ZZ Top and a great final encore Led Zep cover to close out the show. He didn't play for two hours, but quality overcame quantity in terms of this being a great show.

I really enjoyed this, but forgive me -- I wanted more. Not necessarily in time length (although that woulda be great), but more guitar licks from Billy. His guitar sound is so amazing and I love how he doesn't feel the need to play super fast (like the 2 guest guitarists did) -- he's more about finding just the right notes that hit the groove and letting them do the talking. I just wanted him to stretch out into longer grooves, to get past the usual running time of a song and let if fly more. The banter between songs was nice, but the evening felt like what it was -- a loose pick-up session between some great muscians. And that is indeed a lot of fun... but when you have such great musicians, you can't help but want more.

There wasn't a single soul in the room that wasn't clapping and cheering and going nuts after every number . great drum solo by Anton Fig too. Billy joked around between numbers and made funny comments . Did some ZZtop numbers too - sharp dressed man thank you and la grange when is the next show ????

Billy Gibbons brought his BFG's to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg PA, the very last stop on his tour. You would have thought it was the first stop, based on the energy, effort and excellence.Billy's first departure from ZZTop in 40 years was a delicious blend of R&B, funk, latin and blues. It was in a word "Perfectamundo"!

Fun show. Billy is quite the entertainer/comedian/gentleman. Nice takes on some old ZZ Top song, with the Afro-Cuban spin of the new album. The two female drummers were TOTALLY AWESOME ! I think I watched the one stage left most of the show (Only because the other one was tucked behind a large mirror behind the stage right keyboardist/bassist. Sorry I don't know the names of the musicians. The DJ/guitarist/rapper was very entertaining, especially vox on the encore, "Whole Lotta Love". Yes, that .

I Loved his rock-star attitude, his talent was oozing, MUSIC WAS AWESOME, his intimate stories were fun and I loved how he engaged with the audience...he makes everything look so easy & he was very open to the spontaneity of the audience. I also have to mention what wonderful musicians he was with on stage. The double drummers were so cool! I loved everything about this show, what a great vibe. And who knew that a small venue in the Poconos would bring such love to him. Pure Talent. Pure Blues with a splash of Cuban Love & 5 Perfectos! Cheers!

Billy was the sharpest dressed man in the house! The drummer without curls is a MONSTER drummer. Amazing fast and capable. Other drummer very good too. Both keyboardists were wonderful, and Billy played like a master. Set list of latin tinged new songs and old ZZ. All Wilbur seats have good viewing and sound, but not much room for knees!

You have to love it when one of the best guitarists and front men of a generation gives you the opportunity to see them in an intimate setting. With a backing band that's as far from ZZ top that you can get... 2 female (awesome) drummers, one hammond player, one normal keys player and nary a full time bass player in sight. Even a DJ scratching and filling in on some guitar backing parts as well. This is not your Daddy's ZZ Top... and it works! Overall song list was an even mix of new stuff, ZZ top stuff and blues covers. The band is rocking. And they all seem to be having the time of their lives. Tight fun stuff. Even the DJ can sing, as he nailed the Zep Cover. I could do without the little bit of rap that he does on stuff but it's very sparse so no big worry. One of the guys that I went with was turned off by the autotune on the record. I can say that it sounds much better live. They've done it in a way that gives the gravely voice Billy more range. Overall it's just a rocking good show. The opening act (Chad Hollister Trio) really set the stage well and had the crowd singing along. That's just gravy!

It was ok he played the entire album which can be unusual. Alot of artists would play a few new songs and play mostly what they are known for. He still could of played 30-40 minutes of his more well known songs since he played for an hour at most. I didn't expect 30 songs and 3 hours like Bruce Springsteen but for the same money 1 hour?

Billy's band made for an entertaining night out. He radiates smoking guitar leads with the ease and command that most people lend to walking and breathing. He had a relaxed and affable, yet commanding stage presence. Alot more stage chat than at a ZZ Top show. The stage itself was simple but still sort of retro-funky cool. The bedazzled bicycle was a nice touch. Unsurprisingly, the band rocked the ZZ numbers: Ten Foot Pole, Thunderbird & La Grange. The other material was a bit more hit or miss. Treat Her Right and You're What's Happening Baby were absolutely smokin;. Some of the other numbers suffered a bit from a turgid, keyboard heavy sound. The Latin aspects of the music were also a bit overwhelmed by the rockist impulses. It just didn't mesh well on some of the material, and the corny "rap" segments provided by Alex Garza were painfully, embarrassingly bad. Loved the female drummers!!! Next time would love to see Billy team up with a more genuinely rootsy Latin style band, maybe with a full percussion section. Imagine Billy Gibbons fronting Calexico. Incidentally the opening act, Chad Whatever, was completely insipid. So i would enjoy your drinks in the lobby until the main act hits the stage.

He only played 65 minutes. The crowd was less than 300 people. Nobody came out to support the concert. The difference between ZZ TOP and the guy from ZZ TOP were thousands of fans. Having said that, if he would have played a half hour longer and played some ZZ TOP songs it would have been a great show. He only play 3 ZZ TOP SONGS. La Grange, Thunderbird and 10 foot pole. Nobody came out to support his solo project so he cut it short and ran. Very Disappointed.

A real ensemble cast performance Billy was in total control, yet completely comfortable in the role of team player... COOL without EGO!! Even when incorporating flavors of Rap/HipHop (not really my cup of tea) the overall effect was laid back yet pretty incredible. The incorporation of a few select tunes from the vast ZZ Top catalog were welcome, yet didn't detract from the current music.

The event started off with a band I never heard of, but I will not forget anytime soon....Tyler Bryant and The Shakedown. I can't wait to see these guys again as the headliner. I know this version they showed was a 'stripped down' version, but they still brought tons of energy and excitement with their set. As for Billy Gibbons and the BFG's.....wow, what a great assemble of musicians he had backing him! They played a wide variety of songs from latin to blues to classic ZZ Top and Led Zeppelin. What was great about the show, was Billy allowed all of the others to shine and shared the spotlight.

As a long-time fan of Billy Gibbons, I had great expectations regarding the possibilities of this new ensemble and musical format to showcase Mr. Gibbons guitar virtuosity allowing the artist to reach beyond the ZZ Top Blues-Rock "box" into more Latin-infused musical genres. The instrumentation of the BFG's was different enough from ZZ Top, with 2 drummers, Latin percussion, two keyboards and Mr. Gibbons on Guitar, again holding the promise of exploring new musical horizons. Unfortunately, right from the start of the set, the mix was horribly muddied by the keyboard bass (which was played in lieu of a bass guitarist), in combination with the two kick drums, and the mix never improved as the set progressed. The second issue was the fact that Mr. Gibbons guitar could barely be heard in that mix, and what could be heard, were the same old tired ZZ Top guitar riffs, played over a slightly Latin-infused rhythmic framework. There was really no concerted effort made to stretch out with his guitar work in this new format. The final death-nail to any possible enjoyment of this train-wreck of a show, for which I paid way too much money to attend, was the injection of Hip-Hop/Rap infected vocals by the band's percussionist into the material in addition to Mr. Gibbons painfully raspy vocals that sometimes sounded like a robot with laryngitis. I desperately hoped that the show might be redeemed with the injection of a few interesting instrumental pieces, but that never materialized. Under normal circumstance, the absurdly short 1 hour set would have been an issue of contention for me, but after an hour of such aural distress, I was relived for it to finally be over. The only redeeming thing I can say is that the BFG's 2 female drummers really kicked-butt all night!

Billy was in excellent vocal and instrumental form for his fans! This revival of his first musical love was energizing like water from the fountain of youth! His addition of two beautiful young female drummers and a third drummer added percussion that was out of this world. Billy conducted the band shared the limelight with his keyboard player and pianist as each song took us to heightened awareness of the power of music and "the beat". Billy engaged the crowd with each song - this Cuban beat added to the licks is energizing and awakening - I am so thankful I could hear the Reverend Billy G share the love with his music - his BFG Band is incredible - they are all in tuned with one another and it translates in the music delivery.

Billy Gibbons performed a great show - high energy show, talent and charisma throughout -Billy style. Billy is down to earth, fabulous sense of humor, totally engaged the audience. He played most tunes from the new CD, heavy percussion mixed in with a toned down version of his notoriously addictive distorted crunch. It's a Latin beat w/ organ and keyboard kind of new tangent he's ventured into - sounds better live than on the CD. New CD is ok, not riveting like the old ZZTop stuff. Billy played a few ZZ Top tunes during the show, standing ovation each time, had people dancing in the aisles, place went nuclear when he returned for an encore- LaGrange ! Aside from of 1 missed note on LaGrange (I am critical !) he was perfect. Opening act was Tyler Bryant, great sound great stage appearance engaging, I would see him again it was that good, his supporting cast appeared a little uninspired but overall - was a good venue. Cheers

Just when you think it couldn't get any better, Billy has managed to put together another great band with fresh songs that feel like classics from the beginning. He also throws in some old school ZZ Top stuff that you never hear but are infectious as well. Having two drummers and two keyboardists makes for a BIG SOUND!
