Steve Solomon's My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish, & I'm Home for the Holidays is a very entertaining and humorous show. He told stories from his childhood up through adulthood and now as that he is older and the laughter was, pretty much, non-stop. Many of the stories and jokes were based on family members and the quirks in their ethnicity. A relatively clean show with very little that could be considered offensive.

I saw this on Saturday night a I would NOT recommend. I am actually Italian and my husband is Jewish and I thought it would be hysterical. I maybe laughed 3 times. I thought it would be more related to the holidays, but it was "stand-up" comedy that was not even funny. Please save your money - For me it sad - my husband and I do not make a lot and we were saving up for a nice night out , and feel our hard working money was wasted.

My husband, daughter (age 20) and I went to see this show on a Sunday afternoon. My husband was raised Jewish, I was raised Protestant so we thought it would be particularly funny to our family. We didn't realize it was a one-man show, which shouldn't have mattered if it was funny. But, it was not. The jokes were stale, outdated, stereotypical and only resulted in groans from my husband. In most cases, we knew the line that was coming up...just awful. We left at intermission, and could barely stand to last that long. If I think about the price paid, the only consolation is that the JCC received some income from hosting the event. I should note that most of the older folks in the audience were howling with laughter, which the three of us didn't understand. We lowered the average age of the audience (especially my daughter), but we still don't understand how they found the jokes funny. Particularly interesting when the actor did a short segment on vibrators! Maybe I learned something new from our senior citizens! Overall, very disappointed in the show.

It wasn't a chuckle here and there...it was funny from beginning to end.

Just okay, not really very funny except for the occasional good joke.

The one man show was hilarious. It went by so quickly. I bought the soundtrack so all of my friends could hear the show even though they will miss the great physical expressions.

This show kept us laughing the whole time...Even though it is a one man show it was highly entertaining....similar to stand up with a little more to it...I would definitely recommend it

Since Steve wasn't actally home, but on his way home, the title is misleading. Besides traveling home for the holidays, there wasn't a whole lot of holiday references. Jokes were hit and miss. Some of the sex-related material I could have done without.

This play is mis-titled. Very little of the performance was about family holiday gatherings which is what we expected based on the title. It was a missed opportunity to poke fun at all the idiosynchracies of extended family gatherings. Instead much of the humor was sex-related -- was funny, but again not what you expect based on the show title. It's a one man show and the actor was skilled and talented.

As seen in a number of other reviews the play was a one person stand up. It plays for an audience over 60. The jokes and topics were ones that most people have heard play out over the years. If you watch stand up on TV you will be disappointed in this show. If you havent seen stand up very much you will get some laughs. The humor is the typical pokes at Italian and Jewish backgrounds, tough guy, eat a lot Italian, complaining, older Jewish jokes

Steve Solomon is a true comedic genius. He is a master story teller, unlike any other comedic personality today, and his stories are those of real people, real families, and real situations. Somehow, he manages to find a nerve in every member of the audience as he talks about his family and their personalities. The two hour show was a constant laugh riot. Sitting in the sudience, I laughed for the entire time (until it hurt) and left with a huge smile on my face. Both of Mr. Solomon's shows are can't miss events.

Disappointing and overpriced.. Expected a play and received stand up comedy which had very little to do with either the holidays or combining 2 different cultures. My bad for not seeking out reviews before ordering the tickets.

This was a very funny one man play, however some of the jokes were really predictable and some were just old and stale. The delivery was great and that made up for the bad jokes, and the new jokes were excellent.

I enjoyed myself and laughed a fair bit, but I like multiple people in a skit, that's just me. thought it was a little pricey when you can see well known comedians for the same price or less.

We laughed from start to finish. Very entertaining. We were slightly disappointed because we thought it was going to be a play, but it was a great show. I would recommend to anyone.
