Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. This band is having a blast doing what they are doing, and it shows. They received a standing ovation after almost every song! They played for well over 2 hours, performing 2 encores as well. Don't miss this show.

An excellent show. 2 Drummers! Susan's voice and Derek's guitar playing is just so wonderful. Drove up from Suffolk-well worth the trip. I wouldn't pass up the chance of seeing these 2 play together like this.

Why haven't these two gotten together sooner! Have seen Derek several times. With Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers and with his own band. Have never seen Susan. Together there are not words to describe how fabulous they were. Their band was fabulous also! Ended too soon, even though they did 2 encores. It was the best!

Great arrangements and ensemble playing. Loved the relaxing Midnight In Harlem. Thought the horn playing was soulful and the back-up singing was great. The sound is not consistent in the upper balcony and the view was somewhat obstructed.

I was really looking forward to this show. The Alabama Theatre is also a great place to listen to music! I've been a fan of Tedeschi for a while now, but the Derek Truckers Band ( mainly Dereks guitar) totally overpowered her vocals. We complained to the sound guy and was told that Derek had his sound turned up and he could not adjust it. Also, Tedeschi did not perform for the audience or interact with the band. She was more concerned with talking with or watching Derek, the lead guitarist, who I think is her husband. She needs to pay less attention to him and concentrate on her vocals, music and the audience that came to see "her" not him!! He is a very good musician, but it is Tedeschi that is the draw. I think she has an outstanding blues voice! We ended up leaving before the show was over. A big disappointment! On a brighter note, I enjoyed Tromebone Shorty, who was the warm up band. I had never heard him perform and thought he was outstanding!! I am now a huge fan of his!!

Wow! What an unexpected surprise. The opening act "Trombone Shorty" set the tone for the show. The band was youthful and energetic. Loved the CD. Tedeschi Trucks was exceptional. We really enjoyed the concert and the other concert goers were polite and courteous. The security team did a great job managing video and flash photography. Overall, it was an amazing event.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge Susan fan. I've seen her perform multiple times. I once drove 5 hours to see her as an opening act. Not once was I anything less than thrilled by the experience. I've also seen Derek perform a few times and am always left speachless by his abilities. I have also seen them perform on the same stage with their respective bands then join together at the finale. Again, loved it. Having said that, I was really let down with my first Tedeschi.Trucks experience. 1. Susan didn't sing a single song off of any of her previous albums, not one. 2. EVERY song turned into a 10 minute jam session. That works for some bands, Grateful Dead, Phish, etc. But it doesn't work for them. Basically Derek, Susan and Kofi Burbridge (keyboards) are stellar musicans. The rest of the band is way better than good, but they can't keep up in that type of environment. 3. Their style of music has really changed. I know that Susan had shifted from blues to more of a R&B, which actually suited her pretty well. But that night, it just seemed to have wandered too far from either of their roots.

Overall they were fabulous! Tedeschi has an incredible voice and can do the blues as well as any other female artist out there. And of course Derek Trucks is one of the greatest slide guitarists of our time. And the rest of the band is just as great. My only disappointment is that they didn't do any stuff from just the Derek Trucks Band albums, where Mike Mattison sings. That's what I listened to when I fell in love with them. But I'd still go see them again.

Trombone Shorty opened the show with high energy and really had the crowd into their music. Tedeschi Trucks Band was awesome. Derek Trucks is absolutely amazing on the guitar. They performed some of their new songs that are on their soon to be released CD. Susan Tedeschi is reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt - the same bluesy quality to her voice. Great music! The Alabama Theater is such a beautiful venue. More intimate and not a bad seat to be had. Overall, it was a wonderful evening of great music....

Well, I'm a huge fan of Susan Tedeschi with that Mississippi Delta blues goin' on and also of Derek Trucks with his Georgia blues. Having said that, this show was over-done with a 3-piece horn section, two drummers, two background vocalists and a loud keyboard player. And they were all very, very talented! Extremely! I would have loved to have them on half of two-thirds of the numbers. But all of them on every number made the show kind of one-dimensional and we missed all the fine stuff Susan and Derek are capable of pulling off without all the production. Missed it indeed. Moreover, the Alabama Theatre doesn't yet have the "Allison Krauss" speakers that are hauled up on cables to improve the acoustics in the balconies so too much heavy instrumentals drown the good vocals that there are.

We would have liked to hear more of Susan Tedeschi. We like her voice but most of the concert was done by the band. It was kinda distracting having Susan and her husband talk all the time on stage. She seemed to want to be somewhere else. She left several times. Don't get me wrong, the band was great. But we came to see Susan. She didn't seem to be in charge of band.

The show rocked! The Alabama Theatre rocked! The Trucks Band rocked! Susan rocked it out with her vocals AND her guitar too!!! I have not seen her since she started playing the guitar on stage! She played lead guitar on several songs. The show was full of guitar solos, drum solos, horn solos, keyboard solos and a couple of mind blowing bass solos!! This is a must see show! Highly recommend!

All three bands - The Marcus King Band, Drive By Truckers and the headlining act, The Tedeschi Trucks Band - were terrific. This was dubbed the "Wheels of Soul," tour. I am not all that familiar with any of their individual, original songs or albums but I am an old fan of the Allman Brothers Band and I know that TTB carries that blues, pop, rock, jazz fusion, never-stop-touring tradition onward and this night proved they do it very well. Covers included Sugaree (Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter) and Angel from Montgomery (John Prine) and the rest of the unfamiliar songs were performed by consummate musicians. Derek Trucks is a great guitar player and his wife Susan Tedeschi is too and has an incredible alto singing voice similar to Bonnie Raitt's but she is younger (no offense Bonnie, I LOVE YOU!) and the pipes can blow! She was amazing. Marcus King, another incredible guitar player came out mid-TTB set and the three performed together - no singing, just blues riffing. TTB also had one of their (horn-?) section players sing a tune to mix it up some and old Jai Johanny Johanson from the Allman's was on hand to play one of the two drum kits - 74 years-young and still out there for us! These guys are good. Period.

I'll start by saying Susan Tedeschi is a great vocalist/guitarist but the rest of the show was sub par. We went with the impression the show was going to start at 8pm, the opener was an amazing gentleman but after the T&T band took so much time setting up, a pro band would have had this done before hand it was a waste of my time and money. We stayed for 5 songs and left the musicianship was that of an average bar band and quite frankly Mr. Trucks didn't impress me. I've seen 100's of professional gig's and I'm a musician myself and I enjoy any show that has a good band behind them. They were good/average but not $150 for 2 tickets good. You can have them...........

Tedeschi Trucks is one of my favorite bands of all time and I ve seen them between 10-15 times, not counting the times I ve seen the Derek Trucks Band, Susan Tedeschi solo, and various incarnations of The Allman Brothers Band. Derek is one of my favorite guitar players of all time. Every show is full of fire and passion, and they feed off the energy of the music, the audience, and the venue and bring the house down without fail. But Saturday night something was different. It seemed like something was wrong and they were simply playing the songs. They were technically brilliant (with the exception of the mix) but there were no magical moments where the band locked into what Chris Robinson calls The Song and jammed into bliss. It just didn t happen. Also, the mix wasn t very good. The horns greatly overpowered everything, and I could see Derek wailing, but I couldn t hear it except for the intros and parts where the band kicks into low gear. Also, the PA speakers underneath the balcony were not being used. Every other show I ve been to at the Ryman and sat from H row back those speakers were a godsend.

This is our second TTB concert. We had bought tickets for this show last year when Leon Russell was announced as the opening act. Things change. RIP Leon. Jorma Kaukonen was added to the bill and a very worthy replacement/addition. Over all the show was very good! Sound was on the edge of being too loud for me. Jorma opened with a solo acoustic set. Tunes included "I Know You Rider" and "Good Shepherd." Many in the crowd were restless and noisy during his set. Jorma joined TTB for an electric blues, "The Sky is Crying." The TTB performance was outstanding with lots of ebb and flow, soft to max volume. Several of the band members were featured in vocals on a couple of songs. Derek was in fine form and Susan too. I wonder how she keeps her voice in shape when singing with such force! We are looking forward to TTB Oakland show on Blu-ray to help re-live moments. In the meantime we watch some of their performances on various Crossroads video releases. This show and band are highly recommended. They will not disappoint and you will get your money's worth!

As Susan gets older her guitar skills flourish like a rose garden in the Summer. Derek, one of the most underrated guitar players in the USA was his usual spectacular self. One thing that needs adjustment that I have noticed at every show the last 3 years is the harmonies and brass get lost in the sound of Derek's play and Sue's microphone as well. All in all a soulful, enjoyable and fun experience.

Music and weather were above expectations. Well organized, great band selections. VIP did not include water or soft drinks. Would have been nice to have 2 drink tickets for adult beverages. Sound on 2nd stage seemed to suffer late in the day. Was personally disappointed by the amount of trash left behind by GA attendees as there seemed to be ample access to recycle and trash bins. Overall, the festival was fine. Great music, great sound system, good lineup. The problems cropped up with the layout of the seats & where the bathrooms were. There were two stages. In order to get from our seats to the bathrooms, we had to wade through all of the General seating, with no aisle designated. Same thing to get back to our seats. I can only imagine what a handicap person would have to do...it was pretty crazy. Then when the last band came on stage, they let anyone who wanted to, come & stand 30 deep in front of us. The folks who set up the layout of the seats & bathroom facilities need to take a refresher class in Festival Layout 101. We will not likely be back.

TTB is of the most enjoyable touring bands of the to come around in the last 30 years. Great musicianship, an eclectic set list, and a great relationship with the audience they clearly enjoy each other's company and the time they spend together. It translates into unforgettable shows! See them whenever and wherever you can!

This band does not know who they are. Allman offshoot spacey Bonnie Raitt Springsteen sax band? And too many musicians on stage. The horns and back up singers spent 70% of the show watching and trying to look interested in Dereks slide. See the pic. You know u have problems wen u have to bring on Warren Haines to save ur show. And i never did here the chicks guitar, she was constantly fiddling with her equipment. They just werent on.

TTB was firing on all cylinders Wednesday night at the Beacon. I've seen them a dozen times and this was, by far, their best show. And I've seen them cook before. But this night was different. The first hour was great with them playing some new tunes, a couple of ballads and two of their biggest hits, Anyhow and Bound for Glory. But once they brought out Junior Walker and did Wade in the Water the tone of the show changed to a blues infused soulful sound. The last hour was the best hour of music I've seen since the penultimate Allman Brothers show in October 2015. Their version of I've got a feeling and Elizabeth Reed was off the charts. One other thing. Susan Tedeschi is probably the best female R&R/Blues singer on the planet today. And it didn't hurt that Jorma, one of my favorite guitarists of all time, opened with an acoustic set that was excellent.

I loved Tedeschi-Trucks when they were doing their own thing and smoldering, soulful Susan was singing, but I could have definitely done without the 20 long minutes of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed." That wasn't what I came to see. My husband, however, was in his glory listening to "Liz Reed." Susan is a treasure.

Every member of this band is a Master Musician/Vocalist! We have seen Tedeschi Trucks on each tour through our area for the past 4 years and are NEVER disappointed. I've been following Derek Trucks since Joyful Noise came out in 2002 and Susan Tedeschi since Just Won't Burn in 1998. I wondered how their joining was going to work out and since the first combined live show we were hooked. Susan's POWERFUL Voice and Derek's seamless transitions and intuitive guitar work are Amazing! Thank You for yet another Wonderful Show!

Thoroughly enjoy the concert. We had some great seats and found the MontBleu Resort venue to be perfectly suited for the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Susan s rich bluesy voice, Derek s incredible guitar licks, and a stage full of phenomenal musicians rocked the room. If you weren t there, you missed an outstanding show!

First off, let me say that I did not know of the North Mississippi Allstars before this tour, and they are now my new favorite band. Absolutely brilliant musicians! I've been a major Los Lobos fan for decades but until now have never seen them. They exceeded my expectations, delivering their beautiful music with passion and virtuosity. Tedeschi Trucks, who I'd not heard much of, surprised me by being more of a big, brassy, shiny, insanely tight show band than the down & dirty R&B outfit I expected. Members of each band sat in on each others' sets, and the evening built beautifully to a satisfying crescendo, like a musical version of one of your best nights with someone you love ;) I saw this tour in Massachusetts at the Green River Festival, liked it so much I bought this ticket when I got home. Everyone played completely different sets in both shows, which certainly made me feel I'd made the right choice so much so, in fact, that after this show I bought another ticket, and I'm seeing them again in Cincinnati on 30 Aug. I can't recommend a show more highly than that!

I took my wife to the show along with some friends. She had never heard of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, but she was blown away! The AC Boardwalk Hall Ballroon is a smaller section of the Hall, about 2000 seats I'm guessing. That venue was perfect, as there was not a bad seat in the house. The people working there were very friendly, helpful, and polite. The show itself was INCREDABLE! The opening act, Amy Helm, was excellent. Susan Tedeschi and her husband Derek Trucks ROCKED the house. Their hot guitar licks and Susan's GREAT voice made for an OUTSTANDING show. Singer Mark Rivers adds another terrific sound to the band. The band has two first class drummers, Tyler Greenwell and J.J. Johnson, which reminded me of The Allman Brothers Band,`another band Derek Trucks plays with. All in all, we had a wonderful night.

Let's face it; I'm a Tedeschi Trucks Band "junkie." This was my 15th concert and I had traveled from NC to be there. The show opened with powerful renditions of "Laugh About it," "Anyhow," and " I Want More" off the band's new cd "Let Me Get By." Later after a scorching "The Sky is Crying" featuring solos by both Derek an Susan, Susan slowed things down. She brought up backup vocalist Alecia Chakour, and opening act lead singer Amy Helm, (Levon's daughter) to join her on an acoustic version of "Color of the Blues." Mike Mattison was featured on a song I had never heard before, "Going Down to Mexico." The set ended with "Idle Wind," with the usual powerful drum solo by JJ Johnson and Tyler " Falcon" Greenwwll. The band came back out for an encore and did their signature song "Bound for Glory." It was a powerful show that I Enjoyed immensely and my companion ( a TTB " newbie") marveled at.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Tedeschi Trucks Band concert. I've been a fan of Susan Tedeschi's since she came on the scene. Her voice is awesome. Everyone in this band is SO talented and it was great that throughout the concert, they took time to showcase each and every member of the band. Derek Trucks guitar playing is simply out of this world unbelievable. This band is totally all about the music. No big fancy show or a lot of talking. We have tickets to see them in August at the Red Rock Amphitheater in Colorado and we are thoroughly excited about that.

5 March 2016, Ryman Auditorium, Music City, USA. They appeared onstage all dressed well in black, Susan wearing pretty much a formal. Not sure I have the words tonight. Another show a notch above the last. Personal first time heard I Cannot Make It. Mike and Derek's Right on Time an era- shifting pivot. Susan owned Sky is Crying, vocally and instrumentally. The jam out of Harlem into the Storm dirtier freakier funkier than any other I have heard, took us from a dark back alley into the swamp through a bitchey brew and into TTB central. They stretched, they challenged each other. At one point, it was just Derek, Tim, and the drummers. Don't Think Twice, Derek left and Jack and Susan traded licks. I Want More, Jack and Derek were grooving such an intense, intimate interplay, I was like Get a room, damn! Only thing I thought was lacking was a drummers' break out. But I have no complaints.

Tedeschi Trucks, Sharon Jones & Dap Kings, Doyle Braham Hall was a fantastic show this year. Derek trucks blew me away with his phenomenon guitar playing solos. My fiancée Joseph Venditto and I loved the venue setup and had a great time all weekend shopping and eating in Portland Maine. Beautiful boating excursions. Great trip Summer 2015. Be back soon Portland! Thanks!

Susan has a beautiful voice, but the real show stopper was Derek Trucks guitar. Wow, can that man play! This was my first time seeing him play, and I can see why Susan Tedeschi married the man! I had been (and still am) a huge Susan Tedeschi fan. Joining forces was a great idea. Together, the Tedeschi Trucks Band is a must see before you die kind of thing. The band is also composed of outstanding musicians and singers! There are not one, but TWO drummers and SIX singers. World class act! Shine on.

The Wheels of Soul show rolled into the Rose on a cold rainy night and made it easy to over look the weather. This show was a lot of fun with great musicians skilled at their craft. Butch Trucks is the best slide player I've seen since Jeffery Seeman in the 70's. His playing and Susan's, also a great guitar player, fit well together and are just two parts in this well oiled machine. Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings are great, very entertaining. Love the force of her voice live and what a show!

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks and the band as well as the opening acts were exceptionally good that night. If it wasn't for the drunks and cigarette smoke and people standing the entire show, my wife and I might have been able to enjoy it.
