I loved watching the whole group navigate through a variety of songs done in acappella. They sang contemporary and older songs. Absolutely fantastic! The singers have great relationships with one another; that in itself was quite entertaining. They engaged with their audience well. My whole family was with to enjoy their performance including a 10 and 14 year old. I would attend another one of their shows without hesitation.

Gentleman's Rule are wonderful young musicians. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about them as the word gets out about their performances. It's nice to go to a show that doesn't depend on loud amplification rather than talent. GR are the real deal. Best of luck to you all!

The production values seemed somewhat limited and the variance of music limited to one person singing and the rest of the group making noises

90 minutes of pure energy. The voices were beautiful, the song selection was fabulous. Our party, ages from 15 to 89 all loved the performance. The banter between songs was a little lame, but these guys are a very young and talented group. I hope they stay together for a long long time.

Great voices, good staging, okay choreography, so so song selection. They need to go acoustic more, unmixed, for at least half the show. They were fantastic on the one song when they did. Too much reverb in the production for my taste. They're better than they seem to think they are.

This group is OUTSTANDING! Unbelievable talent. All ten of them are solid contributors to the group and each of them a standout in their own right. The music vocals were amazing. The song choices were great. Their original songs were beautiful. The performance was a great mix of sentimental songs and upbeat, fun tunes. Their choreography was wonderful. Highly recommend this group and their show. Fun, fun, fun show! Can't wait until they are back in town again and to see what they do next!

Most AWESOME performance I've ever been to!!! These guys have the best voices I've heard in years and their synergism on stage is unbelievable. The song lineup is so varied that there is something for everyone. I enjoyed the onstage presence as much as the music. This gang will go far.

Being a huge fan of Straight No Chaser, once I knew that Gentleman's Rule was doing a run of shows in the Chicago area, I had to be there to at least one. This is another group formed by the founder and former member of Straight No Chaser. Gentleman's Rule did not disappoint. They put on a great show, and were fun to watch. The theater was changed from the Riverfront theater to Royal George Theater, our seats were no longer front row, but instead Center of the House, and we were eye level. They were terrific seats, probably better than what we would have had even at Front Row. I'm a seat snob, so I like my seats close. However, Royal George is a small theater, so the seats were great!

These young, good-lookers were delightful! They are well on their way! Huge amounts of talent in these guys. Need to work on intonation at times. Some songs got off to rough start. Love LOVE the new CD! NO intonation problems on that! Good, playful interaction on stage. Watch out, guys... A lot of young (and not so young) ladies will be throwing themselves at you! Andrew will have a girlfriend in no time!

Talented 10 gentleman entertained the audience with their outstanding sound, adorable charm and energy for almost 2 hours. The River theater was the original venue and change to the Royal George theater. This change provided an intimate setting where the audience felt this event was just for you and a couple friends.

Gentleman's Rule is a group of handsome young men that can really sing. I am a 60 year old African American woman and I truly enjoyed them. I was impressed with their interaction with the audience. The show was a little long, but that's understandable because they were taping for television. I would pay to see them. I will keep a close eye on their career, because they are going to be famous.

I received an email from Ticketmaster for tickets to attend a PBS taping in my hometown. I personally never heard them sing. I did a youtube search and was please with what I heard. I took my 3 children. They were a bit hesitant, especially my 12 year old son, but he youtube the group and seemed ok with it "better than being bored at home". The show was at 8pm but since it was general admission, we got there at 6:00pm. The line was already forming. The kids were a bit restless since we had to stand in line so long but once inside the theater they were excited. The show was fabulous! Even my 12 year old son got up to dance and sing along! Their talent is amazing, they have a great sense of humor and their managers were amazing. They will definitely go far! We had such a great time, my 7 & 8 year old were adamant we stay until the end. We purchased 2 CD and Tshirts and met the group, got their autographs and took pictures with them. They were so appreciative of their fans. My kids have been listening to their CD on their way to/from school. They ROCK!

Very enjoyable! The musical vocal talent was excellent making for an outstanding choral blend. Because this was a taping for a later show, there was an opportunity for more crowd interaction which allowed the individual member personalities to be known as well as the group personality and I found that really enhanced the experience. It wasn't just another night of music, but a chance to really get to know the group. They performed a nice variety of music including some newer and some older hits.

Was a bit of a ride but great. Went with my Wife, my Mom and if we did not get lost going there, it would had been a perfect evening, but then again, getting lost and ending up in downtown Crown Point was part of the night and it was perfect. Seeing the group and not knowing was more of a treat. Their voices with no instruments but their own and the music was spectacular. I would recommend highly.

This show was just amazing. The guys were on; relaxed and having a good time with the audience. Since this show was being recorded it took longer than the normal show. After the regular taping they continued for five additional songs.

I am an older guy so the music, which was performed well, was just OK. Did not recognize 75% of the titles. They would appeal to a younger crowd. Too much "screaming". Straight No Chaser is more to my liking.

I have to say that I went in to the concert not expecting a whole lot. Straight No Chaser has been my favorite group since I found out about them and figured that Gentleman's Rule would be similar but not quite to the same level. I can say without a doubt that I left as a huge fan of these guys. I actually wish that I had found out about them earlier. They're young, fresh, undoubtedly talented, and very easy on the eyes :) I would not hesitate to see them again. Not only was I entertained by their beautiful voices but their hilarious personalities. If I HAD to choose between them and SNC I don't think I could. Good thing I don't have to!

Seeing Gentleman's Rule tape their upcoming PBS Special was above and beyond expectations, The set was gorgeous, The guys killed all their songs, new and old. The choreography was amazing and they were comfortable with it. I love these guys and am so happy that everyone is going to see them at their very best. So hard to write a review with out revealing anything that will be seen on the special, but take the time to watch the special when it airs starting in March 2014 and see the guys when they go on tour.

This show was a taping for a PBS special and my first exposure to this a cappella group. It was a fun night out. The Gentlemen sang a wide variety of tunes, the strangest (at least lyrically) and yet the most popular being Nelly's "Must be the Money". Because it was a TV taping, there were breaks in between songs. I was impressed by their ease on stage. All eight of them were personable, funny and relaxed. This is no small feat for I have seen more than a few mega stars who were unable to connect with the audience the way these guys did. They have talent, they can harmonize and they are coming back to the Star Theater to open for the Oak Ridge Boys. If you are going to that show, make sure to catch them, they are worth your time. If you like a cappella, keep an eye out for their special in April 2014.

Gentlemen's Rule was fun. My kids, 13, 10 and 8, enjoyed it as Gentlemen's Rule sang some very current music which kept their attention. The encore, the Adele song Someone Like You, was really one of their best. As for myself, I have sang in good acapella groups for most of my life and have to say that Gentlemen's Rule struggled musically. Their bass, Luke, has an impressively deep tone, but his tuning was very inconsistent and it threw the whole group off in several songs, most notably, In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel which really trainwrecked. On a positive note, the 80s medley was a highlight for me, maybe because that is my era, but the songs were solid, in tune, and allowed the guys to relax and enjoy performing. Holland's voice was a stand out for me, a beautiful baritone, like warm, melted chocolate :) Jesse has a great voice and an outstanding stage presence - really fun to watch (my kids favorite) and Andrew, well, he is going to be a broadway star some day. With such a strong solo voice, I was impressed that Andrew could blend into the group so well. And Will kept the energy of the group going, but sometimes overdid it a bit - making exaggerated motions when no one else was and his foot stomping on stage was distracting. Loved both original songs! Bottom line is that Gentlemen's Rule has potential, but the first order of business is to make sure the tuning is absolutely perfect!

I was seriously concerned that an entire concert of acapella music might start to get monotonous, but my concerns were completely unfounded. I did not want the show to end! As a graduate music major, I'm pretty picky about harmonies and pitch...and these guys were terrific. Not only that, they put on a fun and entertaining show with a great connection to the audience. All in all, a really great evening listening to some awesome music.

Group is very talented. Every member did solos. Great voices. Lots of humor Does exclusively pop songs, most familiar, plus several original songs. Choreography effective even though not too coordinated. My main complaint is that there was not enough variety. Many of the songs seemed to sound alike. I would recommend they do less solo accompanied and more full ensemble harmony. Would even love to hear some jazz harmony a la Take Six or Manhattan Transfer. They certainly have the talent to do so. I wish them the best. Love to see a new group like this with so much potential.
