PALMA Violets has taken dead aim at the mantle worn previously by The Clash and currently by The Strokes as "Today's Best Rock Band." Just think of the old Maxell cassette tape ad in which a guy is sitting profiled in his leisure chair facing a set of speakers with his hair being Blown Straight back! That image perfectly encapsulates PALMA Violets in both their sound and energy. If you are a fan of The Clash, The Strokes and/or The Vaccines (who they are opening for in London later this year) do youreslf a favor and go see PALMA Violets. They will blow you away

One of the best shows that I've so far been fortunate to see.

Band was incredible. Venue was small enough to get so close. Crowd was so friendly. Did i mention the band was incredible? So interactive.

What an enjoyable, tuneful, energetic performance by this lovely band. Although quite good, their album doesn't do justice to their live performance. They remind me of the Clash and Stiff Little Fingers, with just a bit of the Walkmen thrown in. Also, points to the Rickshaw Stop for having a good sound system and to whoever was working the sound board that night. The sound was great for such a loud and rocking band. All in all, a wonderful night.

Palma Violets surprised me at Lollapalooza - great show - so I had to see them when they came to NYC. Excellent band, great songs, fun to dance to. Their performance at Webster Hall was fantastic. I think I liked it better than Lollapalooza - maybe because it was in a dimly lit venue rather than in the blazing sun, or maybe I just needed to relive an afternoon in the summer sun. Skaters opened - saw them at Lollapalooza also - had to get in early so as not to miss them. Very proud that this band is out of my hometown :) !

Young, raw Brit rock and ready to take it to the next level. A two headed monster with a variety of styles. A little Clash, a little Echo & the Bunnymen with a splash of Kooks & the Who. If the next album is as good as this one we may have to go to a larger venue to see the Palma Violets next time around.

Incredible energy, great music, even spotted a few awesome people in the crowd (Matthew Hitt and Fred Macpherson of Spector). Each member of the band I spoke to was incredibly down to earth and the show was so much fun. Genuinely the greatest night of my life.

The show was fanstatic. Only drawback was that PV started late after the two opening acts.

I see alot of shows that cover young artists to the established to the icons. And you know you gonna have a good night when a band hits the stage and their performance ignites the souls of The Clash, The Pistols and The VelvetUnderground all in an original punch in the face rock show! Catch them while they are still playing smaller venues because that won't last long.

This was an amazing show! Awesome energy and talent! Best part was meeting and talking with all the band members after the show- they are sweethearts! Their music is great live. I love how they each have their own personalities. Chilli Jesson came and stood in the middle of the audience for the opening band, The Orwells, who I will also be paying attention to now. These British boys are extremely personable, charming and funny! They are the coolest normal people you can meet, happy to sign stuff, take pics, and chat. Love how their manager/merch man Harry (who looks like Frodo) worked the crowd. I'll never forget this concert and can't wait to hear more music from them. I hope they come back to Boston!!!
