The group delivers the goods. They take no breaks and it s continuous fabulous music. Everyone is showcased and all musicians are outstanding. A totally enjoyable evening, much fun and warm feelings.

Being a long time fan but never seeing them in person until last week I had some high expectations. Those expectations were met & surpassed! If you like Jazz check them out, if you don't like Jazz you will.

There is no way to prepare you for this show. They take you back to a different time and yet so relevant to what is happening today and they add a tap dancer. A must see!

Do not miss the Hot Ssrdines. Musicianship was excellent as was the banter. What band do you know that has their own tap dancer??

Every musician in the band wowed us at some point. Excellent sound. And, the band has a sense of humor and made it a lot of fun to spend the evening at the show. We appreciated hearing who wrote each song and when the song were written.

We had never heard of this band and took a chance. It was more than I could have hoped for! They were amazing. We were seated in the balcony and the sound was still good. The only down side is that it is a seated venue and I wanted to get up and dance!

The Hot Sardines were a pleasant surprise. I would defintely go see them again. The musicians were very accomplished.

Great concert! Get your tickets now before they become more well known and the prices go up. Everything I expected and more. The music was priceless and the performers were well suited to what they played.

The Hot Sardines know how to make old music new again! Ms Elizabeth has a wonderful voice and the band was terrific. Would love to see them in a club setting. They put on a great show.

We don't use the word awesome very often, but the Hot Sardines totally deserve it. We took another couple and all 4 of us were blown away. We very much liked the arrangement of the show - no intro act and one LONG set with no intermission. Every member of the band was a top talent on his / her own and the whole was even better than the sum of its parts. Cannot recommend this group too highly. If you love blues, early jazz, stride and rag piano, and hot and cool arrangements and great voices, this is the group for you. We've ordered CD's already.

A very tight band. Lots of fun. This is a New York group keeping alive 1930's jazz standards like Honeysuckle Rose. Kind of a hipster version of Preservation Jazz Band. Do not think you'll hear truly forgotten tunes, though. Not when th encore is "Won't You Come Home Bill Bailey."

Awesome show! Amazing vocals and musicians. It was a packed house and every moment was a joy to the ears and a vision for the eyes! We hope they come back to our town!

Simple- if they come to a venue near you, they are a must see. If you are a music purist or someone who admires people who excel at what they do, if your grandfather (or you) knows songs from the early 19 hundreds or if you just want to be thoroughly entertained and emotionally drained, the Hot Sardines is a group that will do your soul real good. They are amazing talents individually who create an ensemble of even greater richness than the sum of their parts.

The Hot Sardines are a perfect blend of nostalgia and innovation! They took tunes from the 1920-30s and delivered them with a modern twist that my 21 year old daughter appreciated! The musicianship was amazing, especially the brass players....even the sousaphone rocked! Ms. Elizabeth's performance was the weakest musically, but she more than made up for it in her sultry low tones and abounding enthusiasm as the core of the band. This is a band that you really have to see in person...it comes complete with a tap dancer who kept pace the entire concert and added an element of uniqueness and depth to the performance. This band definitely will give you a "pick me up!" Go to a performance if you're having a bad day!

Wonderful from start to finish. No special effects just talented people making unbelievable music.

The Hot Sardines play high energy honky tonk jazz, not the sad, bluesy kind. A younger crowd than ours would have been dancing in the aisles. The lead singer has an Eartha Kitt voice that sometimes sounds like Billie Holiday. A tap dancer is a reminder of the days when tap was part of a jazz performance. He contributed to the percussion even when seated. There was no intermission, just two solid hours of joyful music that brings out the rhythm in your every body part.

Just saw them at the Montreal Jazz fest.....If anyone can revive music from the 20's, 30's and 40's, this group can.....I saw them for free and would pay to see them again. They even have a tap dancer!

Very good musicians, stylish and charming vocalist, great tap dancers. Overall it's fun performance which puts you in a good mood.

Had never heard of this group- listened to them on you tube and purchased tickets for a group of 8. They were wonderful, different interpretations of old songs and a surprise tap dancer that was a delight. Bought their cd and will be following them for another great evening

They were great. Enjoyed A.C.'s tap dancing. I hope they come back next year.

This was my introduction to the Hot Sardines. I was impressed. They were fun and upbeat and despite travel challenges made the evening an enjoyable and seamless experience. They incorporated humor to overcome their frustration in not having all their equipment arrive and missing a band member until mid show. If they hadn't told us, I would not have known anything was missing. I'd definitely go to see them again. Thanks for making the trip to Northridge, CA!

A brilliant performance! Full of fizz, with great vocals, dazzling soloists, a good mix of classic and self authored songs, plus amazing tap dance routines.

My husband and I have been waiting to see the Hot Sardines ever since we heard about them in 2014. We read reviews and saw their videos - we waited in anticipation for them to tour locally. We were thrilled to learn they would be at NJPAC and even better in the Victoria Theater! The perfect venue we thought! I lucked out and got front row seats, center stage. The Hot Sardines are sensational!!!! Energetic, entertaining, truly phenomenal! HOWEVER... Being in the front row was not the best thing the set up of the sound system prevented us from hearing Miz Elizabeth's voice when she sang! This was truly disappointing as her voice is creative and captivating. Then, the show lasted one hour...The band left us hungry for more, another 20-30 minutes would have made this a 5 star event even with the sound issues. We were fortunate enough to have VIP tickets which allowed us to meet Miz Elizabeth and Evan backstage. They're both incredible artists. I highly recommend seeing them or at least listening to them - they do not disappoint !

Great show at NJ PAC. It was a small venue which made it all the better. I could see all the band members! I just wish that the show was longer. We will definitely see them again when they are in the area! They did not play Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen. Bummer!

Very short show--just a little over an hour. Have seen them before and they've had much longer sets. Their energy level was inconsistent, some songs were quite lively, others seemed to be performed with a lack of enthusiasm. They referred to the fact that this show was in the afternoon and that this was unusual for them; what are they, vampires??

Glad they came to Newark in the afternoon for their "pinky up" matinee. Smooth vocal...ON THE MONEY! The band was fantastic...as always.

The Hot Sardines are a must see show! Everyone in the group is incredibly talented. The music is fun and engaging. It's hard to explain in words how great their sound is - see it for yourself!

If you are looking for incredible talent and musicianship, innovative music arrangement, charming personalities, tap dancing that will knock your socks off, and an all around good time, look no further. We have seen the Hot Sardines on several occasions but this last show at the Birchmere was beyond wonderful. Their warm personalities and interaction with the audience was the icing on the cake. We heard some of their pieces new to us despite our CD collection and You Tube searches and are always so delighted with the surprises they bring us. This time we heard some fabulous whistling. Who would have thought? If you ever have an opportunity to hear them, don't miss the chance. There is always a remarkable moment, a song presented in a different way, and a good time for all.

This group played old sixties and seventies type music. It has been many years since I have seen a tap dancer. A very enjoyable evening.

If you love jazz, incredible musicianship, performers with personality, and incredible tap dancing, then this is the group for you. We found them on You Tube and are now going to as many concerts as we can conveniently get to. We have two more bookmed, because we like their sound, the fluidity of the instrumentation, and the choice of songs. We go early so we can get a seat that allows us to see the tap dance do his thing. It is sheer poetry.

Absolutely the best show I have seen in years. I LOVE jazz/swing and it was everything I could ask for.. Every musician was tops...vocalist awesome...tap dancer brought even more fun to the high energy group. The pianist was talented and full of personality. I didn't want it to end.

The Hot Sardines put on an AWESOME SHOW!! In spite of the weird cold wet weather, they did a TERRIFIC JOB!! It's really unusual for Norfolk to get in this sort of retro swing act and I wish they would invite more similar acts to perform and ask the Hot Sardines back again! If you were scared away by the weather, you really missed out!!! In terms of the venue....it needs improvement! I get the urban industrial look but a big pile of dirt and gravel in front of the stage isn't exactly the kind of Norfolk welcome we should be giving traveling acts...

Hot Sardines couldn't have been better. They made old time music fresh again. The weather was bad and the crowd small. What a shame; this group deserves a sold out show every night

Great show at the State theater in Portland. Energized and fun. Top musicians. Get rid of the front tables to allow dancing!

The band is hot, original, exciting and upbeat while being eminently danceable! The tapper, fast Eddie, is a great addition and we all love Miz Elizabeth's singing and commentating style as well as the fearless leader, Bibs Palazzo, with the amazing hands and to top if off the brass section is incredible! The band is so good and their jazz timing is so perfect that it puts all of us into a really up positive state!

Excellent show, full of energy between the public and the band, was fantastic!

It had it all. I don't want to give away too many spoilers. The one unique part of the show was a New Orleans like musical procession with the audience out onto the streets of NY. Unforgettable.

They are called the Hot Sardines for a reason. Not the cool sardines or the sweet sardines, they play a hot variety of jazz and put on a seamlessly entertaining show! They display a perfect blend of being polished while still being spontaneous! Do not ever miss an opportunity to see this band perform live regardless of venue.

My family went and we all enjoyed the evening. The horns were incredible. The singing was soulful and the tap was a great addition.
