Cirque du Soleil: Michael Jackson ONE

My boyfriend and I went to this show while on vacay. We loved it!! It was awesome. The dancing, the effects and costumes were so visually appealing. I sang and dance the entire time. I loved it!! I didn t want the show to end. We love you MJ. You are still keeping us dancing and grooving. I recommend this show to the real MJ fans.

I saw this show in Los Angeles just before it came to Las Vegas to its permanent home at Mandalay Bay and I thought it was very entertaining then. They have done some revamping and it is simply fantastic now, and I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates MJ's work. The performers were incredible!

The performers were good, however that is expected. What was missing was a story or theme (beside Michael Jackson). They all danced around and performed great, but nothing tied together. Should of told a story about his life from early days with the Jackson 5, breaking out as a solo artist and thru his career, etc. And, of all the hits Michael had in his career, most were missing from the production and played a majority of songs I didn't recognize. So, basically not my cup of tea and won't be recommending to my friends.

This show was FANTASTIC!!!! If you have the chance, see this show!!!

From start to finish, this show immersed us in pleasure. The music is great, made better by the system and production. The dancing is fantastic. They us the whole theater so wherever you look, there is something to see. Loved it.

This show was definitely worth the price. The first 5 minutes I had my doubts, after 5 minutes the show just got better and better. The choreography was fantastic with Michael Jackson s music. The acrobatics was phenomenal and very enjoyable.

This show was amazing. Worth every penny. Jaw dropping and beautiful, I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire show.

Nicely designed theater to bring the elements of Michael Jackson's music alive. Music and performers are great, and keep you entertained. We sat in the fourth row from the stage, and it was a little to close, because some of the arial performances were actually above and behind us. I would recommend sitting more to the middle/back of the orchestra section for the best views.

Fair tribute to Michael Jackson but storyline too tricked out, dancing not Vegas / Cirque quality and music way too loud. O is the only Cirque show worth seeing.

This show was amazing and the group's talents are unbelievable!

This was the second time we saw this show. The first time we had Nose-bleed seats which wasn't bad as ALL seats provide a great view. This time we had 8th row seats. WOW!!! A totally different view point!!! Great show and great music!!!

I so wanted to love every part of this show. "O" and "Mystere" are favorites and I grew up on Jackson's music -- I knew most of the words to the songs in the show. I loved half of it and was left with the feeling of potential left on the cutting room floor. The Thriller sequence was perfect - acrobats and zombies and Thriller -- what's not to love? Some of the light show pieces were great -- especially the one in the dark with electronically controlled light sequences going from dancer to dancer (very hard to describe without seeing it). The gymnastics sequences were adequate, including slack-line, tumbling, and the rope-climber. And yes, the hologram of Michael is amazing and very well done. With that solid core, it was hard to imagine that other parts of it would leave me wishing for so much more and with only 4 out of 5 stars rating. Barely 4. Two callouts in particular -- the "magic items" storyline and the dancer who was not Michael Jackson kind of dancing a little like Jackson, but not nearly as well. The magic items (glove, socks/shoes, hat, microphone) story was easy to grab onto. Four normal-looking young people start in the audience (Cirque common trick) and then run around the stage during the acts. They also interact with the four magic items and show some hidden talents, talents augmented by the magic items. But they never sold the story or brought it home. The hat sequence showed the potential (good) -- the circus elements and the glove moving like the Thing from Addams Family were interesting -- but once the glove finds its "match" it should provide some kind of special power (if there, it was easy to miss). And I think the socks gave the user some gymnastics power, but the staging did not let the story come through. Also, the four protagonists never came together to acknowledge or use their powers for "good" or for tribute to Jackson. If each of the protagonists had acquired some MJ skill and then danced with it we would not have needed...... The creepy not-Jackson dancer who got WAY too much stage time for his talent (3 times, really?). He was also a contortionist (mild spoiler, sorry) who never did enough contortion tricks to be thought a good contortionist. And why would you need your not-Jackson solo dancer to add contortion moves to his similar-but-not-Jackson dance? Did I mention he was totally and completely obviously NOT Jackson? And then the hologram shows you Jackson's true genius as a dancer, proving this guy is not-Jackson and then this guy comes back on stage to prove that more. He wasn't even a tribute-Jackson who was truly copying the original. He was not-Jackson. Singer-in-the-sky who kind of sang, but didn't really sing in a way that helped Jackson's music? Sitting in a lit-up moon? Re-cutting a lot of his music and video sequences into modern style with WAY too many cuts, way too deep of a beat, and adding layers Michael didn't write? Give me a break. It is almost as if someone looked at a show reflecting the refinement and energy of Jackson's actual music and said, "there isn't enough chaos and frenetic energy here for Vegas." NOT ENOUGH ENERGY in Jackson's music? What planet are you from? Even the Billie Jean sequence, while I appreciate showing actual Jackson footage of a song you can't improve or do better than the master, was a video mish-mash that didn't let you "see" what Jackson actually did in his stage and music video versions of that song that made it so perfect. It was like they ruined Jackson's vision for the song on purpose. It was the minimalist performance that made the original so special. But not on Cirque's watch! Well, Jamie King is not likely to take notes from me. He doesn't know or doesn't care that Jackson was hip-hop adjacent and an inspiration to hip-hop, not something you can produce into today's hip-hop without killing the soul of his music and dance. I, for one, rushed home to re-watch the Smooth Criminal video. King should watch it a few more times and compare it to this show. Do what you did with the Thriller sequence instead. Let more of Jackson's music speak for itself. Did I enjoy my evening out? Yes, I did. And I might understand more if I see it again, which could happen. If you are in your 40's or 50's, like me -- go see it, but don't expect a proper homage to the King of Pop until the Thriller and Man in the Mirror songs.

The show is truly amazing, even when we know what might happen, the element of magic and details of each scene is incredible well done. And of course, The Man in The Mirror performance leave us all speachless. You cry, you feel the magic, love and gratitude for the technology that allows so much beauty to be express in one show. If you are reading this thinking about if you should go, do not think, GO, you will be so happy you did it.

Had the opportunity to see this show in Vegas, I was told it was good, but I can say it was amazing!!!!! Such an overwhelming atmosphere, the cast was great, the show was magnificent. I would strongly recommend this show to anyone. Photos and videos are not allowed, reason why there is non added to this review.

My kids, wife, father-in-law and I enjoyed every minute of the this amazing performance.

One of the worst shows I have ever seen, too loud and too all over the place. If there had been an interval, I would have left then.

The Opening Numbers were just OK. In fact the first 15 minutes of the show I was horrified as Dancers just didn't "BRING IT" and the story characters...not at all I would have expected. Just strange. I could have done without all the Trench coat bandits and digital guys. Thank Goodness the show picked up with some amazing acrobatics and entertaining theatrical performance from middle to end. If felt like the Beginning was just lacking and so Never Felt the WOW i was expecting with any MICHAEL JACKSON Spectacular. The Primary Dancer with MJ moves was quite good but again..It was hard to get into it because a ball cap and theatrical makeup just didn't PLAY with MJ well. UGH...So wanted to Love this show.

My girlfriend and I brought our four kids to Vegas, this show was one of the biggest highlights. Would watch again in a heartbeat! All of us loved it!

My family was on vacation, we got to Las Vegas 2x a year. My daughter expects to see a Cirque show so I chose this one as a surprise. Her boyfriend has never been to a show before. Well, we were 6 rows from the stage and I felt like a celebrity! I would go again, this has been my best show yet, in a way I felt sadness after the show, what a performer and gifted person he was and this show just proves it. It is sad that his life ended the way it did. RIP Michael.

It was amazingly good and will go back and watch it again. Although I love more dancing show, the performance has considered different varieties of audience.

This show is extremely well done choreographed and put together with great thought it's a great tribute to Michael and all that he accomplished in his life it takes you on a wonderful Journey.

As a massive Michael Jackson fan, I'll try not to be biased... It was a very fitting show for such an artist. From the moment you walk into the theatre, the atmosphere is both magical and calming. Audience interaction, before the main performance starts, is unique and funny. (beware : use of flashing cameras - literally lol) The whole performance is cleverly put together and keeps you captive throughout. I have only seen "Immortal" (another Michael Jakcson/Cirque show) which uses Michael's music to another level. If you like Michaels music you'll love THE ONE. As with all Cirque shows, the use of amazing acrobatics and comedy creates a performance. And, considering there is no interval the time flies passed too quickly. As well as the cleverly staged holograms on stage as you enter the theatre there is another part of the show, which I daren't mention. It would spoil it for those who go and see the show. I would prefer you be surprised and mesmerized as I was. IN ALL.... A great show and I would see again if I could fly to Vegas.

This is the second time we have seen the show. It was amazing. The hologram was much better technology this time and the lights were fantastic. A few Jackson greats were dropped which was disappointing; but it remains a must see show.

Fabulous show. What a tribute to the man and his music.

Especially enjoyed the hologram of Michael Jackson that appeared at the end of the show tying together the themes of One, Unity and Love. Song choice was excellent. Costumes were fantastic. Cirque du Soleil's performances and choreography complimented the music. The story line was a bit hokey, but worked well as the four "intruders" each portrayed a famous attribute of Michael Jackson's show persona. I really enjoyed the performers who came into the audience floor or flew over the audience on wires. I also enjoyed the performers who climbed on the theatre walls. On the negative -- music bass was too loud and bright light strobes shining into the audience's eyes made it uncomfortable at times. I did not appreciate being "snowed" upon and later having to dry clean my silk outfit marred by this special effect. Overall I felt I paid too much for the tickets, but was happy that I saw the show.

The show was amazing! We had people in our group that weren't even M.J. fans, and they even LOVED it!!!

The story line and staging were excellent. Liked the special effects. Only complaint that some sight lines were hard to see. Would have been better in a in the round setting like Beatles LOVE Show at the Mirage.

I saw Michael Jackson in concert in the late 80s and it was one of the most memorable concerts I've ever seen! Seeing Cirque de Soleil's One was just awesome! The acrobatics, dancing and special effects were just awesome! I loved every minute and it brought back such great memories of one of the best entertainers of our time! If you're a MJ fan, you'll love it too!

I thought that the show was great. I'd see it again in a few years.

I grew up on Michael Jackson's music and I was excited to go to this show. The beginning of the show should be amazing. I was like what is this? My daughter and I looked at each other and laughed. I was thinking this was a high school production. It was not worth the money we paid for. I was highly disappointed. No one was dancing in their seats or moving/grooving to the music. I felt like we were at a funeral. They showed video clips here and there with a hologram of Michael at the end of the show. Overall, the venue was amazing, but the show was a major let down. They need to revamp this show immediately.

I've never been to a Cirque show but heard great things... and also heard the Michael Jackson "The One" was one not to miss... I sat in row D and everyone was right... It was amazing... the acrobatics and the show itself was mesmerizing... I was sorry to see it end :( I will probably go back to Las Vegas to see it again.

We had great third row seats(1/2), the dancers, actors, singers, and stunts were fantastic from start to end. Well worth the money I spent and highly highly highly recommended!

Never been to Cirque du Soleil before but the combination with MJs music was just awesome. Laughter, goosebumps and some tears. Loved this show/night although it was way too cold in the theatre.

Okay show, all cirque du soleil shows are very similar once you see one the rest are easy to predict..

The first half was a little slow. I didn t get the 4 people and the treasure chest that was distracting. The girl in the super hero outfit I could have done without. The dancers were amazing and there was just two song choices I would have not had in the show. Best to stick with songs everyone knows. Billie Jean and Thriller were ultimate and Man in the mirror was top notch!!

It s one of those where you need to se over and over again. I would highly recommend it! I love MJ and they served him well.

Very powerful. I don t dislike MJ but never followed him. Wife and daughters love him. I fully enjoyed the show.

As all Cirque performances, this one was full of lively entertainment. In fact, there was so much going on at all times, it was difficult to know where to look. There was just enough of Michael's old classics mixed with some of his newer, less well-known songs. Overall, it was a great performance. Would recommend it.

What an amazing tribute to the King of Pop. His family would be proud how they are keeping his memories and music alive.

Everything was spectacular. Excellent production coordinated with Michael Jackson music. It required a large venue and that was exactly what it got at Mandalay Bay.

The action and choreography are entertaining and very colorful. The complaint we had with an otherwise enjoyable evening is that the volume of the music is so loud that it undermines the pleasurable quality of the original music itself. The show did offer an encompassing interpretation of Michael Jackson's life and work.

Good show, I wish there would have been a tad more cirq acrobatics, a MJ look alike & more group dances. The group dances were awesome. Don't waste your time purchasing the $174-$200 seats. Buy the cheapest seats in the house and you'll still have a great seat. The theatre isn't huge so every seat is a good seat. I wish I had known b4 I paid $174 to be 4 rows from the front which is kinda too close. Thank God I brought my earplugs that reduces music decimal levels because, it was entirely 2 loud.

Was looking forward to the Michael Jackson show as I have enjoyed other Cirque shows and am a fan of Michael's music. This show left me disappointed. I never could figure out what the story line was supposed to be and the show was full of obscure music instead of the countless hit songs that i was expecting. The acrobatics were outstanding as all Cirque shows are but this was otherwise boring at times.

I've seen ads about this show before. I thought "I guess that would be a good show to attend." It was so entertaining. As I was watching it, I said to myself, "WOW, I WANT TO SEE THIS SHOW AGAIN!!! Non-stop music, dancing and just plain FUN! I highly recommend ya'll put this on the list of shows to see. I've seen several shows in 'Vegas and this one was my favorite one of all. I will definitely go see it again!!!

The best show on the strip and a Must see for all.

I got tickets for this because my girl wanted to see it. I was expecting to fall asleep soon after it started, but it was very captivating and the acrobats were incredible!

One of the best Cirque du Soleil shows offered on the strip in Las Vegas and I have seen pretty much all of them. Very entertaining and the music and was chosen just right for each segment. Stimulating and very enjoyable. The trampoline portion was one of the most exhilarating portions of the show. Highly recommend

Between the dancers and all the effects this production was amazing. The only problem I had with the show is there's a lot going on.

My husband and I have seen a dozen Cirque shows over the years, and have enjoyed them all. We have come to equate "Cirque" with true entertainment. That is, until we took in this show. One was unlike any Cirque show we have ever seen, and that is a BAD thing! This show was, simply, awful. It felt like we were seeing an elementary school talent show that didn't even have our kid in it! Don't waste your money on this show. See any of the other Cirque shows on the strip.

This show was great especially if you're a Michael fan. Only recommendation is that there a lot of singing and dancing and not so much acrobatic stunts as you would expect from Cirque.

The show surpassed my wildest expectations. The dancers were fantastic, the story line lent truth to the artist, and brought all walks of life together. The halogram segment brought tears to my eyes as it felt as MJ was actually there. I would definitely recommend this show and would love to come see it again when I visit.

After watching the trailer for this show I expected greatness, but this was mind blowing. The performances and sound were spectacular. This show just confirms that Michael truly was the G.O.A.T. It felt like he was present. I even shed some tears. It's a must see show!

The soundtrack was great. The acrobatic artists were good. The dancers and rest of the show lacked enthusiasm, crispness, and originality. I got bored watching it and felt like i was watching the B team. I ve seen many other cirque shows in Vegas and suggest you go see those instead. Mystere, Love, Ka, and O were all far superior to ONE.

This is a must see!! So awesome! I enjoyed every minute, don t sit too close because there will be acrobats over you and you will have to look straight up. Try and sit mide section.

Another amazing Cirque show for sure! We sat 4 rows back from center stage and the only things I would do differently is to sit farther back from the stage because performers are coming in from the air above the audience, and the snow effect covers you in tiny dried potato flakes you discover after the show. Otherwise-phenomenal!

This show was on my bucket list, so I was excited to go, along with four of our friends. Very, very very disappointing with the lack of Michael Jackson hit songs. He has so many hits, but several of the songs had never been heard; and trust me, I know most of his songs. Cirque performances were okay, but not as good as most Cirque shows in Las Vegas. The tickets are very pricey and then there was the prices for cocktails....robbery!!! People attend these shows for entertainment, not receiving a social lesson. I ve talked to several people since we attended, only to find out they felt pretty much the same way. Guess I should have done my homework before spending all that money. Would not recommend.

The members of the dance troupe were terrific. The show is very fluid.

We have now seen this show and the Beatles show. Overall I am rating this a 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason I am deducting a star is because of the people coming and going during the show. This distracts from the show. At the start, there were a high number of people being seated after the show had started. I believe the doors should be shut at start time. Now that I ranted about that, the show was good. It was on my bucket list and now it is crossed off. If I had to see this show or the Beatles show, see the Beatles. I like Michael Jackson music better but the acrobatics/show was better with the Beatles. Just my humble opinion.
