The best I have seen, reliving my teenage years, knew all the words to the songs. Learned a lot about Carole King.

We loved this show. Being a child of the 50s and 60s, this was the music I grew up with, but it should appeal to people of all ages. Great story, great music, great performances; what's not to love?

Beautiful was amazing from beginning to end! Can't go wrong with all those old familiar songs from my favorite artist. It was a great mother and daughter musical to see together.

I went with medium to low expectations, mostly because i like Carol King, but wouldn t consider myself a fan. My wife loves her. The show far, far exceeded my expectiions. Carol Kings life as a song writer before she became famous as a singer was very interesting and the music she wrote that other groups performed was wonderful. The entire cast was top quality. A really, really fun night in the theater.

Attending Beautiful was my third time to attend an off Broadway show at this venue. The theater is fantastic and the people who work there are very gracious and helpful. I appreciate the quality of shows that are shown here and I highly recommend this theater.

Beautiful was...well...Beautiful! This fast paced musical celebrated the life of Carole King in music with 27 loved and memorable songs! Some were performed by the groups she and her husband and musical partner wrote them for, and some in her own voice after she became a solo artist. The show transported me back in time and was a true toe tapping good time from beginning to end! Loved every note and every minute! I felt the earth move under my feet! Beautiful!

great show great seats I would recommend seeing shows there. It was our first time that my husband and I have been to the theater.

Music was, of course, fantastic. The story well told - so much about Carole King s life I did not know. Great fun!

I'm a fan of Carole King. Her songs are the sound track of my life during the 70's and 80's. By hearing the songs, I get to touch that part of my life. Learning about her life and the history behind each song was just...beautiful.

Awesome show. I love ever minute of it. I knew all her songs, I didn t know she wrote and sang so many. I would see this show again.

If you like Carol Kings music;then this is a Must See! The music and performers were Great.

We sat in row 21 under the balcony. I don't know if this was the cause of the extremely poor sound or if the speaker system just needed to be replaced years ago. Either case the volume was action movie loud which I can understand for a movie, but not for Carol King. The sound was like old worn out speakers, as the volume increased the sound got fuzzy and lost the base which made it even worse. This was also the opinion of the people sitting next to us. I am assuming that the mixing was also not up to par because when the 50's groups were singing the backup to the lead singer was as loud or sometimes louder. We will probably give the CPA another chance, but will not go if these are the only seats in the theater available. I would think that Nederlander would demand better sound for it's productions than what they are getting. The cast and their performance was very good, just the sound was TERRIBLE which was very distracting.

A fantastic show. Beautiful centers around the musical career of Carole King as her life develops. I ve recommended the show to others. I recommend it to you as well.

The show was awesome. Loved the music brought me back to my high school days. It's a must see for the Baby Boomers!. Carole King wrote some of the best songs of that era that's for sure.

This is a musical similar to "Jersey Boys" and "Mama Mia" in the sense there is a cute, uncomplicated story and great songs. The music is familiar, toe tapping, Carol King classics. The acting was great, the set was clever, and the voices were outstanding. This is not a musical in the sense of "Wicked" or "Fiddler on the Roof." I'm not a huge fan of musicals but see this one if you can. You won't be sorry.

What a lovely way to spend an autumnal evening! Listening to the sounds of our youth and seeing the life of our beloved Carole King come to life in front of our eyes! The acting was good and the music and singing were superb!

What an incredible musical, it was funny, it was sad it was reality and it unveiled history of Carol King that few knew of...her tremendous song writing ability and musical talent. Empowerment to women to stand up for what they believe in and follow their dream...took may 82 year old mother who recognized 90 % of the songs and my 20 and 16 year old kids. Something's are worth waiting for and seeing BEAUTIFUL was certainly at the top for me. A big Carole King fan I was supposed to see this show on two prior occasions but by chance, I missed the opportunity. Not this time, no way. As soon as I saw it was coming within 50 miles I bought one ticket. I'm not going to miss it while friends decide if they want to see what I consider one of the best musicals ever! If you grew up in the 50's, 60's or 70's you've been touched by songs of King, Goffen, Mann and Weil even if you didn't know their names. They ruled the charts and as the songs are played, your first thought is always "I didn't know they wrote that?" I enjoyed my evening so much so that when I got home I tried to buy a ticket to see it again before it left town but the few tickets still available were 3 times the price for the same seats, so I wasn't meant to see it again this time but you bet next time it's coming back within 50 miles, my tickets will be budgeted for!! Music of an entire generation was defined by these talented people and I now appreciate their work even more. The cast, stage and story are just golden!! I usually save to see 1 or possibly 2 shows per year when they come to the Bay Area and this is THE show for the year and worth the price and wait.

I absolutely loved this musical! The cast was so talented. The singing and dancing were so good. The orchestra played well. I've never been to a show on Broadway, but I can't imagine one done better than this one was!

I saw Beautiful in New York. I thought the performance in Knoxville was as good as New York. Great cast, great voices.

Saw the show opening night and it was great!! Can t say enough good things about it. Story was good, props were great, talent was top-notch, but my favorite thing was the music!! So so good!! The theater was beautiful as usual. We are so blessed to have the Tennessee and be able to see these great shows that are presented!!

The script, the music, the acting, the sets, the venue................all wonderful! A++++!

We absolutely loved the musical Beautiful! The music was outstanding, and the storyline very enjoyable! We were especially impressed with the talent of the cast. The Tennessee Theater is a wonderful venue. We have seen many shows all over the country including Broadway. This performance rates right near the top!

You don't have to be a Carole King fan to enjoy the songs, the choreography and the glimpse into the history of pop music. We enjoyed the show so much that we may see it again on Broadway when we visit New York in a few months.

Very cute and interesting story with some funny lines. The music is really good. The actors did a wonderful job. I came away with a real respect for the talents of Carol King and some understanding of how the music business works. I highly recommend this musical as long as you like musicals like Mama Mia! and Jersey Boys.

Beautiful was awesome! I had already seen it in Sacramento, CA, but loved it, so I took my husband to see it in San Jose, CA. It was amazing! I would definitely see it again! The San Jose Center for the Performing Arts was very nice. We had great seats!

The show was a wonderful tribute to Carole King and kept the audience enthralled with the best of the hits, through the music of the 50s, and the history and culture of the music business. Highlighting such amazing talents, the show just sparkled. I highly recommend seeing it, no matter your age, because it is a truly American show, with the grit and stamina of musicians and singers who lived their passion to the fullest.

What a great show. Not much for musicals, but I was truly captivated by this performance. The numbers were so well formed and the show was produced extremely well.

Event was Excellent. Tickmaster totally failed to make our etickets available.. Spent 5 hours trying to get our etickets. Arrived at theater without any means of admission. Only through the great folks at Tennessee theater were we able to gain admission. Purchase etickets through TIcketmaster at your own risk!!!

Amazing performance! Highly recommend for all audiences

What an amazing and magical life Carol King has had. And it is all brought to you on stage. Her genius in writing music and how that played out in her real life is portrayed in a way that keeps your attention. We get to see the tribulations with her husband who she later divorces. That incident led to her writing the song "It's Too Late". Did you know she wrote the song Pleasant Valley Sunday for the Monkees? The musical also shows how her life was intertwined with fellow song writers Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Their relationships added a richness to the story. Don't miss this. It is fabulous.

The show was very enjoyable. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. As always the Broadway at the Tennessee installment didn't disappoint. Every show from this series that we have attended has been very well done. The casts are always the best of the best. We have been fortunate enough to see some of these plays on Broadway and then attended the touring version at the Tennessee and there has never been a perceptible difference in the talent level. Can't wait until the next one!

Tennessee Theatre is an amazing venue and "Beautiful, the Carole King Story" was simply fantastic. I wish I had gone on Friday so I could have returned to see it again on Saturday and Sunday. Highly recommend.

I loved the entire show. I have been a Carole King fan since I bought the Tapestry album (vinyl) in 1970's. It was our favorite go to recording. The entire show was well done, well choreographed, and the girl who played Carole King sounded amazingly like her. I would recommend this show to anyone who loves music.

The music was great. I knew all the songs. All the performers were excellent. I thought I was watching the real Carole King.

The musical was absolutely wonderful. Every character in the play was good and of course the leading lady was excellent. The Tennessee theater is not very user-friendly for the handicapped. That is a shame.

Beautiful, the Carole King musical, was...well...BEAUTIFUL! It was so good I felt like I grew up with Carole and then saw her in concert! Everyone in the theater was mesmerized throughout the whole performance. I would see this show again and again! If you are a fan of Carole King's music, and especially if you have read her autobiography, do yourself a favor and see this show at least once. The Tennessee Theatre was the perfect venue for this work of pure art, too. The lighting, acoustics, and intimate feel made for an all-around fantastic experience.

Saw this musical on Broadway in NYC and the one at the Tennessee Theatre was just as good!

this was my second time to see "beautiful" - i saw it in NYC three years ago and the touring show was just as fantastic - i actually think some of the actors in the touring show were superior to the broadway ones (particularly Barry Mann)! Go see the show!

The musical play Beautiful at the gorgeous Tennessee Theater in Knoxville was fabulous! Going back to Carole King s Tapestry music & all her songs she wrote from the 60 s to present day time was simply the best. I m so happy I went. If it comes to tour area I hope you will take the opportunity to see it. Unforgettable event. Loved her then, love her now.

This was an awesome show! It was fun, enjoyable, and entertaining. The music of Carole King is remembered as you take a journey through her life with her. The costumes and sets are memorable, also. I highly recommend this show for children of the 60s and 70s.
