Great show!! My favorite musical. I think this makes 8 times that I have seen this over the years. Mostly at The Fisher, once at U of M and now The Fox. The Fox is always a beautiful setting too!

Some of the actors were so much better than others. I know the production well so it stood out to me. Zac could have been meaner. Tits and ass girl could have had a sexier vibe and a stronger singing voice. There was a mariachi band playing in the vacinity of the bowl that overshadowed some moving dialogue. The people sitting around me were volitile and yelling at each other. Crowd vibe was odd. Plus parked too far away on Cauhenga and took a while walking and it was super hot and sweaty.

As a lifetime dancer and a huge fan of the movie, my wife was thrilled to invite me to "A Chorus Line" when the traveling show came through Cincinnati. I'm a frequent theater attender and particularly fond of musicals, and looked forward to it myself. ...boy were we disappointed. This production offered the same minimalist staging and elaborate dance routines as most productions of "A Chorus Line," but unfortunately did not offer any of the acting or singing prowess to support this framework. From the first moment we hear the cartoonish, contrived voice of Zach (whose effeminate tone would have been much better suited to Paul's role instead of playing a hetero lover in a powerful position), the play projects character after character in a barely-believable tableau reminiscent of high school theatre. Morales disappoints with uninspired, staccato recitation of otherwise inspired writing, and Paul overenunciates and bleats through his monologue so sophomorically that those around me tittered throughout his most heartbreaking lines. The rest of the cast seems to just wait for their chance to yell their parts out and get back in line. The one light in this otherwise drab waste of time is Sheila, who manages to carry the audience from peak to valley along with her, got us to laugh, and got us to feel sorry for her and encouraged by her at the same time. Props to this actress for keeping her sense of craft in an unpleasant situation. I expect a lot more from a professional touring company appearing at a major venue like the Aronoff Center. If you want to see "A Chorus Line" in this manner, you can catch a high school production in nearly any town in the midwest... go see that one, then pocket the extra money and take your friends out for drinks. You'll have a lot more fun, and are likely to meet more real characters that way.

Having seen "A Chorus Line" twice in the 70's, I eagerly ran to see it again--30 years later. Amazingly enough, it is still relevant and immensely entertaining. I got the CD and am still singing the songs, some of which I remembered word for word from the original.

This was a really good production of A Chorus Line. I had seen the play before, and enjoyed it yet again. The performers were all great. It's an ensemble cast, and doesn't really have a "star". This is not your typical musical with lots of costumes and sets and big numbers, but it is some great dancing.

I treated my 24 year old daughter to dinner and Chorus Line; but we were very disappointed in the production. Both of us had difficulty understanding/hearing the dialogue/words. I have friends who raved about Chorus Line; but of course, they saw it in NYC!

Truly disappointing show. I was very excited to see what I have heard to be such a classic show, but in the end I was only upset on the time and money I wasted. Leaving the show, it seemed to be the common theme as well. I saw most people shaking their heads in disbelief.

I normally love this show. Have been telling my daughter about it for years. But we were very disappointed with this production. Cast was out of breath during dancing/singing parts. Choreography was very simplified. Pitchy and nasally singing in parts. The end did not disappoint tho.

It was very difficult to understand what the actors were saying when they would sing ... the music was too loud & u couldn t hear them. We maybe was able to understand about half of the songs as most the time the music would overpower them & drown them out. Also the set was very minimal (like nonexistent ) just some mirrors they moved around. The actors did an ok job but all in all we were disappointed that it didn t live up to our expectations. I have been in the dance industry my entire life & the dancing was just average.

The Fox theatre is a treat and beautiful! I enjoy going there. A Chorus Line was okay - I couldn't hear the actors at times because the orchestra was too loud. I remember tap shoes during the one actors song about how he got into dance and I missed that. It was a little slow at times but overall it was good. I would recommend seeing it once, but I won't go see it again.

Overall, this was a great production. There were a couple of mic problems, but they didn't really distract from the show. The casting director definitely tipped the scale towards good singers over good dancers. The dancing by some of the cast members was not so great, but most of the dancers were good enough. I wouldn't say anyone's dancing was spectacular, including Cassie's. But the production was so good, that it didn't really bother me at all. I'd see it again if I had the chance.

Show was amazing - loved the songs, the dancing, the characters came to life. Only complaint was rude late arrivals who talk from the lobby during the first 2 songs, and finding out only 10 minutes before the start that there would be no intermission.

Good show. This show was entertaining but geared more towards the singer. It was definitely singers who could move as the dancing was not good at all. The singing was excellent, however. Also, I feel it definitely would benefit by adding an intermission, which it did not have. I heard many people mention how they couldn't believe it didn't have an intermission. This also caused many guests to leave their seats in the middle of the show. They simply could not hold their liquid any longer and had to get to the lavatory. Other than that, the show was entertaining. It was not one of the best shows I've seen though.

I was really excited to take my daughter to see a Chorus Line. It wasn't awful - it just wasn't great. The venue is huge, and while we paid a premium for good seats, the sound was pretty awful. This show had a lot of first-time national tour cast members and it showed. Some were amazing, but overall very average.

Dancing was good, singing was so-so, acting was abominable. Cast members had low energy and were more mechanical in playing their parts than connecting as a cast. The flat portrayal of the characters did nothing to revive the gem that is a Chorus Line.

For a touring company that performs all over the country this show is terrible. The singing and dancing is mediocre but the acting is watching people read lines. I kept thinking this show would get better and it did when it ended. The male that played the director of the show was in particular miscast and stunk. He is suppose to be a Bob Fosse type...think Bob Fossil

Director was not old enough to be believable. Dancers overall were very good at dancing but not all were strong singers individually. With numerous B'way revival cast members in the cast (Mara Davi, Krista Rodriguez, etc.), I felt like we saw a revamp of the revival right here in Los Angeles. Well staged, beautifully lit and designed (set, costumes), this venue can be unforgiving with lags in energy/drive, and I feel they could have used a little cutting. But that's my only complaint! Perfection~!~

I saw the original on Broadway, and was so excited to see it again. A Chorus Line is well suited to the Bowl venue, and this production was terrific! The cast was extremely talented, and most of the stunt celebrity cast was good, with the exception of "Val" who was a game performer but fell a little short of the mark. They should do this show every year, like they do with the Sound of Music!

Outstanding form the moment the performers came on stage. My wife and I took our girls, 10 and 17 who both want to see it again. An absolutely awesome experience... my family have attended several Broadway performances both locally and in New York, this musical ranks way up at the top with the others... a must see! Wow! Everyone was fantastic. The lady,Rebecca Rikker ? (Blond with red leotards) and the man who played the gay young man ? Joey Dudding blew my mind! I would appreciate if this note about Joey Dudding or whomever played the Gay young man talking about his expierences, who Dad said "you take good care of my son" was awesome. There was not enough of a lull time for people to realize his performance ended so we could clap before the scene changed. He was powerful in his story telling, it brought me and my husband to tears. We didn't want to clap to early. I heard many people saying the same thing. Everyone was great. I loved it and would see it again if I could.I may be getting the name wrong. Thank You for such and entertaining evening eveyone.Great dancing, great singing and great acting!

I have attended many musicals at the Morrison Center but this is the first time that I have purchased tickets in the upper mezzanine. Chorus line is a dance master piece. From our seats, we could observe both the front and back row dancers. Our seats were high flying, low cost and it is a credit to the Morrison Center as a facility that the evening was fabulous. I had been worried that we wouldn't be able to see or hear well. At least in the case of this musical, our seats were fabulous and we had an enjoyable evening.

I love A Chorus Line and it's been one of my favorite musicals for years. I sat high up in the balcony, like I did the last time I watched it years ago, but it seems the Fox has some problems with volume. The singing and music volume for the most part was fine, but you could only hear about 30% of the lines the actors were saying. The only reason I was able to follow along with the story line was because I knew what to listen for because I've watched the musical and movie several times before; I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to understand anything if it was someone's first time watching. I could tell that the other audience members around me were having trouble hearing as well because they were leaning in and I could hear them asking each other what a character just said. Frankly kind of ruined the whole experience. The only reason I said I'd recommend this to a friend is because the play itself is a great play.

I have been to the Fox Theatre a few times now, and find it sometimes good and sometimes lacking. This was one of the lacking times. The performances were good, with the dancing being the strongest part of the show. The sound tech was spotty at many instances, and this greatly distracts from the over impression of the show. It is after all, a musical, and I believe the most important part to get right. And especially because this is a wonderful score, with several beautiful musical moments, but if you can't understand the performers because you can't hear them, well....bummer. I would expect that with all of the amazing technology available today, these issues could be solvable. Oh, and hire a real orchestra, with more than a handful playing, or don't. Either use a great soundtrack, or spend the money for getting the real deal. The thinly scored substitute was a noble effort, but not making the grade.

The tickets weren't cheap but the singing was pretty bad. The couple of the cast who could sing did not out shine the many who could not. Some were down right bad. The dancing was good. But since I felt like I was at amateur night, why did I pay $50 for the cheap seats? This definitely should have cost less and I should have been able to be on the bottom floor.

This was my second time to the bowl in the last 20 years and it was well worth it. The sound quality was exceptional and the orchestra was perfect. It was a bit unusual seeing a play at such a distance but the large screen monitors helped a bunch. I had never seen A Chorus Line before and found it enjoyable. The quality of the performance top to bottom was what impressed me the most.

This is a top-notch production of A Chorus Line. Great dancing and wonderful vocals, perfectly staged and choreographed in the best Broadway tradition. The only drawback is that the musical is getting a little dated. Jokes and subjects that were relevant in 1975 are sliding ever-further into anachronisms. The pacing is slower than modern musicals and some scenes seem to drag. This production needs a few tweaks. But if you re into time travel, then this is everything you would have seen on Broadway 40 years ago. It s a little old and gaudy, but it's still a gem.

WHAT memories. Would MOM approve??? Music was a mite 'tinny' the bravado was there. There were 3 'try-out's back stage that seem to be following s the count.......6-7-8-(9)-.10.

I originally saw this on Broadway in 1983, and this cast was every bit as good. Seeing Mario Lopez in the case was a surprise, and that boy can he dance!

I've seen this show several times - years ago. It was just as fresh and exciting as the first time. A magical night at the Bowl - fabulous cast. Some shows from that era have become dated; not Chorus Line. It speaks to all of us. I'm so fortunate that I was there to experience it. Thank you, Hollywood Bowl.

Other than a couple of sound issues, this was an amazing performance. I brought my seven and eleven year olds and they where enthralled from the get-go. Stand out performances film the woman who played Cassie and the one who sings "tried to melt." My kids also loved seeing the kid from Austen and Alley in the show!

I had never seen a stage production of "A Chorus Line". After seeing it the other night, I'm trying to figure out why. This show was amazing and will touch everyone in some way. The stories of these characters are timeless. Every person out there has a story that made them do something .

Terrific performance! However, if I did not have a big screen close to me, I would not have enjoyed it so much.

This is the 8th Hollywood Bowl musical I've seen and it was one of the best! I'm so glad they got real dancers who could sing, instead of name stars who can't dance. It was a beautifully warm night and for once, nobody was loudly talking around us-- they were actually enjoying the show!

I hadn't seen this show in 30 years, so I was really looking forward to it. It was pretty good, but dragged in a few spots. A couple of times, the big screens went dark momentarily. Also, when someone was singing a solo, they would start out in darkness before the lighting folks caught up and shined a spotlight on them. I had the feeling that they needed one more dress rehearsal before opening night. Several of the characters were supposed to be in their twenties, but it was obvious that the actors were not. Some of the dancers were amazing, as were the soloists. I was surprised, though, at how flat Mario Lopez was. I don't know if he always performs in that manner or if he was just having an off night, but he seemed to be speaking with no affect and going thru the motions.

Hokey yes, but still makes me cry and felt exhilarated during and after the show. The dancing was great and Ah what a finale. Love A Chorus Line.

I was there to see the dancing and here the songs I knew. I enjoyed those but the storyline was threadbare. There were 2 sections that were overly long - the solo dance and the coming out story.

The story line of this musical is timeless and was really well done. No one singer stood out, all were good not great. A few slow patches but really enjoyable!

I saw the original Broadway version, and it could not quite compare but this production still captured much of the original sparkle and verve.

I thought the play was boring. Nothing to do with the actors and actresses, but the show itself was way too long.

The play was the play. Not much you could add to it or detract from it. The kids were terrific. You could appreciate the energy. The sound from the mikes attached to the actors was not clear at all, very hard to understand all their stories.

I mistakenly thought this was a touring production of A Chorus LIne - in part due to the high price I paid for our tickets. I took my 13-year-old daughter, who was pretty much bored to tears throughout most of the show. There was not much personality to any of the characters and the last LOOOOOOOONG speech at the end by the final candidate was almost painful to listen to due to the length and lack of emotion. For such a long story that was told, this character needed some more oooomph to his performance. It sounded too much like he was reading it. I was very disappointed in general - not something that should be repeated by this group of performers. Everything just seemed to lack the feeling and emotion I always get from Broadway-quality performances. I saw A Chorus LIne several times on Broadway and this just didn't compare.

There were certainly some great parts to the show, but for the price I did expect better quality. Also, too much potty talk. Didn't really add to the show.
