Not sure who's to blame, the theater sound board or the band's mix; fact is poor Clare Bowen's beautiful voice was swallowed up by the extremely talented band. Ms. Bowen's acoustic set was inspiring; allowing her voice to shine. Mr. Esten was better than expected and worked hard to entertain an estimated two-thirds full house.

Loved the performance, and the meet and greet with Charlea Esten! He was so kind and fun and dedicated the picture we took to our little Deacon on the way:) However, most of the staff at the theater were terrible and I hope the owner reads this. They didn't tell everyone no flash for cameras, and then hounded anyone and everyone as they deliberately shined their bright flashlights through the crowd. They stood in the isles longer than need be, and we're very rude. I even looked on the website for camera policy and found nothing, so maybe that should be updated...

Although Clare Bowen was unable to appear at the concert with Charles (Chip) Esten, Lennon & Maisy certainly stepped up. The two sisters are very talented singers and seemed at ease with the audience. I was pleased that they were asked to fill in for Clare, because they're two of my favorites on "Nashville". Chip Esten is a real entertainer. He is so far from the character of Deacon on the show, which is a great thing! He really enjoys performing in front of an audience and does are really admirable job. The only bummer was at the very end when Chip invited the sisters to come out for the last song, and an audience member fell ill. Because there was very little time left to finish the song, the performers ended the show (gracefully and professionally) out of respect to the ill woman (and was fine after all). All in all, I am so glad I didn't get a refund just because Clare Bowen wasn't there!

At first I was disappointed to learn that Claire Bowen dropped out last minute. But when I heard Lennon and Maisy were filling in, I was excited...love them on Nashville. Charles Esten...Deacon... Is a fabulous entertainer. I loved his high energy, upbeat music. The man can sing! I loved the concert. So happy I had the opportunity to give this feedback.

At first we were disappointed after coming all the way from Vegas to see Chip & Clare Bowen, to hear @ the last minute she had to cancel. Lennon & Maisey more than made up for that disappointment. Those girls brought the house down!!!!!! Chip Esten & his band were as great as we thought they would be. Their energy & love of music was evident in every song they sang.

Chip Esten is always phenomenal live! He is an amazing performer and an incredible person. As fans, we truly appreciate how he takes the time after a show to meet and greet his fans. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was also great to see how much his hometown adores him. We aren't from the Alexandria area, but we were surrounded by people that were, and they all had the kindest and most wonderful things to say about him. Very nice to hear!

Full disclosure - Charles Esten's (Deacon Claybourne on "Nashville") performance at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA was a homecoming. He grew up in Alexandria and was surrounded by many members of his family and friends in the audience. He was clearly so excited to be playing in the historic venue. He played tunes from "Nashville" and some well-known songs, but the real surprise was his songwriting. Several of his own songs will stay with me for a long time. He was backed by a wonderful band (who has also played on "Nashville") including a fantastic female singer/fiddler. He played for over two hours and stayed to sign autographs until the Birchmere closed - being generous with his time with everyone who waited in line. I hope he comes back soon and I would recommend his concert to any music lover.

Charles Esten (Deacon on Nashville ABC) is an incredible live performer. This was my third time seeing him live, but first time all on his own, and he did not disappoint. The band was so skilled (Sixwire) and Chip offered a perfect blend of high-energy songs and soulful country ballads, while also balancing music from the show, lots of his own great music, and a handful of covers. He told stories about songwriting between performances, giving insights into how each song came about. This was a very special event as it was his first at The Birchmere in the town where he grew up. It was clear that at least half the audience were people who knew him or his family. I truly hope he releases an album of his own music soon. Favorite songs/performances were This Town is Ours Tonight, When Trouble Comes (duet with the incredible Kenzie Wetz), Undermine (duet with daughter, Taylor) Home by Suppertime, He Ain't Me, and It's the Same Damn Road. Chip is a humble, open, inviting, funny, and engaging performer. It is clear he loves the music and his energy is infectious.

Awesome!! Amazing!! Best ever!! My husband and I had the pleasure and privilege of attending the Charles Esten concert at the Birchmere on Thanksgiving Eve. He is a wonderful songwriter, singer, and all around performer! He and his band from Nashville played one great song after another for two and a half hours without a break. Charles has a rich, soulful voice and he delivers each word of the lyrics from deep in his heart. We especially enjoyed the songs he wrote and performed from the TV show "Nashville!" After the concert, he stayed and greeted each member of the audience with smiles, pictures and autographs for over two hours!!!! (He even autographed an extra photo for my sister in PA who is battling rheumatoid arthritis and couldn't be there---he is definitely sincere, genuine, and compassionate). Really enjoyed meeting his wonderful family--so kind and warm!

Chip is the real deal. He's not only an outstanding songwriter with a first-class voice, but he's also a fantastic entertainer. Chip really excels in the live performance setting, starting out strong and getting even better as the night goes on. Chip's band, Sixwire, is chock full of top-shelf Nashville session players, and a great match for a performer of his talent and quality.

The show was totally amazing. This group of young musicians/artists have SO much talent. We especially liked that no one person hogged the stage. It was nice to see each artist perform a song then go introduce the next. The duos were awesome. Claire Bowen's voice is just as smooth and powerful in person as you hear on the show. The finale with all the artists was an added touch.

Loved the Nashville concert! The only thing that could have made it better would be to have "Rayna" and "Juliette" on the tour. Still, "Scarlett's" rendition of "Black Roses" alone was worth the price of admission, and the Tower holds lots of fond memories. Great show!

The Nashville cast concert at the Tower Theater was amazing! Everyone was so talented and so real! The format was casual (which was refreshing) and the cast showed they are regular people just like those of us there to support them. I hope they will all continue to put their music out there and show everyone they are more than the cast of Nashville, they are talented musicians. I would go again if they played here again! I love the show and everyone in the cast! I have just completed my CD collection of the Nashville music. I hope that a live video comes out for sale of the concert at the Tower Theater!

In terms of musicianship (esp. vocals and guitars), quality and diversity of material, value, pacing and performers' attitude toward their audience, this is one of the best concerts I have attended in many years. No 'Cavalcade of Stars'-style "sets" --- but a dynamic mix of solos, duets, and threesomes. Sam Palladio played drums for several of his colleagues' songs; Jonathan Jackson played guitar for others; they sang backup for each other. The vocal prowess of Jackson and Clare Bowen, especially, far outshined material they are given on the TV show. These guys, used to performing in dark studios without an audience, really appreciated the live feedback. Minimal, but appropriate, stage chatter and stories. About 100 minutes, no intermission. Great fun.

My wife is a huge fan of the TV series and I enjoy it as well. I think that the music is fantastic and so we were excited to see the show. The stars did not disappoint. They are really talented musicians and songwriters. Also very engaging with the audience. If they do a longer tour, I'd highly recommend seeing it. Better than a lot of country acts out there today.

The show was fantastic, with all 6 performers showing off their truly unbelievable musical chops with both live performances of favorites from the show and new songs written by the cast themselves. All in all, it was a wonderful evening, and I look forward to being able to repeat it in the future!

Loved the St. Jude Music Marathon Saturday night with Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, and most of the cast of the Nashville show! What a treat to see them in person. The music is what country music should be about instead of the current "rock" songs that most "stars" put out and attempt to convince their listeners they are country. Way to go Nashville cast and song writers!!

The entire concert was great. . . .Clare Bowen was so enchanting. . . .She is a beautiful sweet and a talented artist. The band at times drowned her out as she was singing unfortunately. Charles was not only wonderful eye candy but also a very unique artist who performed very well, and what I liked most was.... he spoke and shook hands and related to the audience during his performance. . . .everyone was at the top of their game, I really hope to see more coming our way in Nashville. Both of these stars from the TV show Nashville have way more talent than they are allowed to showcase on TV. Clare Bowen has an angel's voice, with strong song writing skills too. She was warm, funny, and engaged with the audience. Charles Esten was great fun, a talented musician and singer. He had great energy onstage and was extremely entertaining to watch and hear. We both loved the concert.

Disappointed! This is the third show we have seen at the Genesee. We enjoyed the others. We were very excited to see Clare and Charles, two talented musicians, but the sound was terrible!! The base was too heavy, the band too loud and when one could hear the lyrics, they were not clear, sounded garbled. The usher I spoke to said they had their own sound guy...not sure if that was the issue but very disappointed, We left before the show ended.

My wife and I are country music fans. We have attended many concerts at Tinley Park, Soldier Field, and some smaller venues . My biggest pet peeve is when the music drowns out the voices of the singers. At the Friday night performance, the first set with Claire Bowen, the sound coming from the bass was so loud and buzzy, that you couldn't understand any of the lyrics she was singing. At the intermission we passed the sound engineer and mentioned it to him.He said she has a soft vice and Charles' set should be better. Wouldn't you tone down the bass if the singer had a "soft voice"? The second set for Charles Esten was a little better, but they never get the singer's voice to rise above the band. After spending good money for concert seats, I think they owe us a better mix of music and voices. If the recordings sounded like this, they would never sell a CD or digital download.

Excellent show at the beautiful Genesee Theater. Clare Bowen had such amazing energy and stamina and her voice was AMAZING!!! Charles Esten was just as good. It was a lovely evening and the best part is that it is an easy in and out at this theater and a great, entertaining evening that is quite reasonable!
