What a lovely night - Carla Bruni is sensual and sweet and had a great mixed set that was 50% French, 50% English, and 1 Italian song thrown is for good measure. She did all of her hits, her most popular covers, and Sarcozy was in the house! Would definitely recommend

Love Carla but was so disappointed by the performance. I went for the French songs, but there was barely any. First, she was about 30 minutes late to the performance and did not even start with a French song. More than half of her songs were done in English that I could have heard anywhere. This has been one of my most disappointing concerts.

Me and my husband have always liked Carla Bruni's music. Apart from being a beautiful lady she is talented (writes her own material, sings and plays guitar) and we got exactly what expected - European vibe and high class crowd. It was the first time at this venue and we enjoyed it very much - it has cozy intimate atmosphere and convenient layout. The only improvement could be for her show to use more interesting images on the stage screen than just her in black and white... :) Other than that we enjoyed the show very much! :)

Gratsi Carla Bruni! You outdid yourself and you outdid The Stones and AC/DC! The venue was spectacular and 30-40 minutes close to OC (after traffic). Now everyone needs to re-watch "500 Days of Summer" (2009). The soundtrack features a fave Carla Bruni song as well as a backdrop of The Ace Hotel and Theatre, right down the street from The Orpheum Theatre, as well as other LA landmarks.... (La La Land style). What a wonderful evening~

I have always been a fan of Carla s French songs, but she s equally amazing performing English covers. Her voice is luscious and she is completely enchanting on stage. She is just an otherworldly beauty!

Loved the concert and the Orpheum Theater. Carla sings so beautifully and so lovely and sensuous. Wonderful ambiance. Recommend highly.

First ever concert where I really didn t like the performer live concert. I didn t like her gestures, how she talked etc. I preferred listening her CD s.

The venue & Sound were fantastic. Carla Bruni's performance was enchanting. Her voice was melodic and even better than a recording. We loved the show and recommend everyone have this experience of a wonderful adult romantic evening out.

I was intrigued by Carla Bruni but not very familiar with her music. The Birchmere turned out to be the perfect place for getting to know her. She is funny, engaging, and so appreciative of her audience. Her voice was much stronger and more versatile than I imagined, and she brought an outstanding group of four backup musicians as well as a super lighting and sound team. This intimate concert was truly memorable, and I would certainly encourage friends to see Carla and attend any performance at the Birchmere.

We enjoy most of the shows we have seen at Birchmere but Carla Bruni was the best. She is a great artist and entertainer. Food and service is ok at the venue but it definitely needs a face lift.

Carla's range and voice were strong in this intimate setting. Her songs were eclectic and perfect for a Valentine's Day celebration. I hope she returns to the District, and I hope she continues to make thoughtful music.

She shows humble dedication to her art playing Birchmere. Her effort was great and she really put heart into it, actually she received a standing ovation from DC. Lovely show. ....the Silence and Winner Takes it All, moon river, j'arrive a toi was very moving.

My first time at the Birchmere and the venue was everything I had hoped it would be. Carla Bruni's unmistakable voice and lyrics delivered an unforgettable experience. Of course, it didn't hurt that i was at a table with the most stunning woman in the room ;)

Typiquement! Her breathy fr-anglais. French English. Made all the chansons quite warm. She's beautiful and stylish. I was obsessing on her low boots. The crowd wanted to love her and so they did. Excitement ensued because her husband Monsieur le president was in attendance. Bravo Sarko! She sings a lot of love songs and it's cute most of the time. Just enjoy her for what she is...

For Carla's US premiere, I was thrilled to be there. I waited 7 months for this show to come around and was not disappointed one bit. Carla's beautiful voice, perfect charm and sweet sense of humor, not to mention her gorgeous songs was a fantastic evening. Thanks also to Taofik Farah and Dave the piano player!!!! Saying 'hi' to Nicholas Sarkozy was very cool also! ;)

This concert was a real treat...low key staging with focus on Carla and her music. Excellent! Loved the venue and the intimate feel of it.

The venue was lovely. We sat in the balcony and did not feel like we were too far from the stage. Carla Bruni's performance was average but her commentary was enjoyable. My friends and I agree that perhaps a large theater isn't fitting for her type of lounge music. But Luckman did a great job and the quality of sound was good. I like the video presentation that accompanied Bruni's performance. Bruni's voice was good and the songs sounded better live than on her album.

Carla Bruni put on a very engaging show. The piano and other guitar player were great sideman to Carla.

Carla Bruni in concert....OMG it exceeded any expectations. She has such a charming sweet intimate magnetic presence on stage and what a clear, smooth, inviting, resonant, expansive and beautiful voice. She was inside each song and she took us on the journey with her with those 'Little French Songs'. I especially liked that she sang in English, French and Italian showing her appeal to so many in the audience. She is pure magnetic energy and her voice is the chord that takes you on the journey with her. I look forward to seeing her in concert again.

She was the most pleasant and charming woman I have ever seen... The show was a real pleasure....

Carla Bruni's concert was very pleasant. Their songs are lovely and her voice and the French accent makes it all special! She explained the songs saying why she wrote them and what they meant to her. She spoke one song in Italian and one song in English, the rest all in French. Also her husband former President Sarkozy was in the audience and he was very friendly with everyone shaking hands and taking pictures and signing autographs. I would definitely recommend and would go again when she is around.

Carla Bruni put on a fantastic performance. If you have always wanted someone to perform in your living room, Carla did on Thursday night! She is not a diva routinely going through her songs. She in an incredibly beautiful young woman inside and out who is out to make sure everyone enjoys the evening. Her self deprecating banter between songs only adds to the fun. He backup musicians were extraordinary and the stage show went on fluidly...although she jokes that it does not. Her voice is even better live than on CD. I will definitely go see her any time she comes to NYC

Carla Bruni is one of the best singers singing in French right now. Her lyrics are great, and she is a real pro. She was comfortable on stage, and there was a real warm feeling to the event.

A nice little frisson of an evening spent with lots of Franglophiles who, for the price of a taxi ride and a ticket, can believe they are in Paris for an evening. Bruni is fetching, but flashing the midriff was "just a little cute!"--too contrived. The breathy voice is what you came to hear, but the little girl act is getting a bit old at age 46. She risks becoming the Blossom Dearie of the the 21st Century--how does this movie look in 10 years? Right now, we don't care. She is worth going to see, but like Chinese food, don't be surprised if you are hungry for more music in an hour. Good luck!
