This was a wonderful and heart breaking year. The death of a magical person, Chris Cornell, was present. The crowd felt the loss, and each band paid tribute to the singer/songwriter. The lead singer of Audioslave, Soundgarden and The Temple of the Dog .....has made an impression on many types of music, especially rock. He will be missed...... My brother, Steven Greene, has wanted to see Meticalla, for a long time. This was his year, 2017, ROTR. We attended this year, like many in the past, ready to absorb the music. We did.....and it was awesome! I can't wait till next year......we are forever Rangers!!!!!!

Rock on the Range was a great time. It was our 2nd time. Our 1st time was for Linkin Park in 2015 and then again for Metallica this year. 2015 the weather was just about perfect. There was a brief rain delay and then the bands played on. This year Mother Nature had plans of her own and she decided to let it rain down on ROTR! The safety measures taken were a necessity, however, for those few like ourselves who don't participate in any social media outlets, I feel we were a little less informed as to delays and restarts an email or text from the ROTR hosts would have been greatly appreciated. They were evacuating the stadium night 1 due to a storm and the announcement said to leave and seek shelter in your vehicle. We took a shuttle to the venue and had no vehicle so we high tailed it to the gas station drop off and pick up spot for our shuttle and returned to our hotel, showered and went out to dinner only to find out later on that there was a building behind the stadium that we could have sought refuge in until the storm passed. We also learned that the show restarted without us, needless to say we were extremely disappointed.

I cannot express just how WONDERFULLY and AMAZINGLY INSANE Rock on the Range was this year. Bullet For My Valentine was THE BEST; Seether a close 3rd, ^_^. Rob Zombie was spectacular; I was about slaughtered during Five Finger Death Punch. Noise auction was.. well, Noise Auction. A great show as well. Hell, give Classical instruments a chance because Apocalyptica is SO AWESOME live. (Their Finnish Accents were a little tricky to decifer, but they blew the crow away in performance) DON'T miss out in 2011

The show was worth every minute of the 3 -1/2" hour drive from Detoit to Columbus. Columbus Crew Stadium had the perfect setup for the 3 stages, easy access to your favorite bands, well organized and on schedule for every band start time. Lot's of vendor's and extra activities even got a few autographs from bands that made the experience that much better. Would recommend this to every rock fan and I'll be back for sure. This years lineup was the perfect mix of new artists and the tried and true veterans. Godsmack and Papa Roach stole the show, Puddle of Mudd rocked hard and we met up with lead singer Wes out in the vendor area just hangin' out taking the whole experience in, signed autographs, got pictures just made the whole day a really cool experience.

Loved the bands! Wish I could have seem Godsmack but played to late. Only complaint was that we had to constantly move from one stand to another inbetween shows. Once you moved you lost your really good seat and got trampled on in the crowds moving back and forth in a hurry. The shows were excellent though.

Super awesome, great bands! Didn't like that at times two bands played at the same time. Most of the time bands played at staggard time so that you could see all of the bands you'd like. I will be back again next year!!!

Rock on the Range 2017 was three day rock festival with great bands, a wide selection of food and an excellent venue. The sound was loud as it should be and the bands rocked it! Field access is a must in my opinion as the stadium seats while they are sitting just don't give you the full effect. There are also a fair number of vendors at this event. Most have some kind of fun game or something special they are doing. These are a must do as you can score some cool swag and get entered into special promotions. I also recommend checking out the Kickoff party, that was a rocking good time as well! I would like to see them offer more camping packages (this is really limited by the venue though), as well as the ability to upgrade my tickets on a camping package to VIP. Also where they are using electronic tickets now, Why not let people enter and exit the venue during the event. At least at one gate? I feel that not letting people exit and re-enter is a money grab to force people into the food vendors on premise. Speaking of... The food at this event was surprisingly good! There was a BBQ place that had an awesome brisket! Make sure they come back!!!

Yea, one of my shoes did come off in one of the mosh pits, but the whole event was fantastic as far as I'm concerned. Great bands played there, and it was a complete blast. There was some weather-related delays, which was a bit of a bummer, but the staff handled it very well despite complaints from the concert-goers. Also, the staff was very good about returning to me the flip phone I'd lost during the Korn set. Overall, it was lit, and would go again!

What started out as a nightmare in the rain ended up being a great weekend... Mapfre staff needs to step up security though... No one checked our bags Sat or Sun... And as my daughter is disabled, the lack of appropriate handicap parking was frustrating... We had to park in the field by the campgrounds and walk Sunday night, which just about killed her poor legs, but we managed... But our fellow rangers were great as Always, and the bands were awesome... I will forever call Sunday the night Metallica saved Rock on the Range... After sitting through an hour long deluge of rain, the crowd was blessed with an opening in the sky and an incredible show by the best metal band out there.. A great ending to an interesting weekend... Loved it...

All of the acts were awesome, loved everyone. Weather did put a small damper on our parade all weekend but overall it was great. I would like to put my opinion out there and maybe if you could get the performers raised up a little more higher than they were, then all of us on the field could see them better. I did notice that this year was much more packed with people then previous years, which did make it not enjoyable at times, trying to get through the sea of people... other than that complaint it was epic to see Metallica, Korn, OffSpring etc.! Great tribute to Chris on the end of the first day at the time slot he was supposed to play!

If you have never gone to this before, it is a MUST! I will be honest in saying that I am 25 years old and felt like I couldn't hang with the big dogs. I was sore, exhausted, hot/cold and at times miserable by how much I was standing. It was three full days of 12 hours of non-stop music and fun! Don't get me wrong, it was a freaking BLAST but the only thing I came home and said I wish I could have changed was that it was three days.. I would be very happy with two. There were a ton of food vendors which made it nice since it was three days long. I had the option to eat pretty much whatever I wanted! They had everything from turkey legs, chicken on a stick, Chinese, Papa John's, Island Noodles, fries and tenders, sausage on a stick, hot pretzels, hot dogs and MUCH more. The drink options were obviously very expensive but I appreciated the wide range of varieties that was provided. There was Deep Eddy's, Jack Daniels, regular canned beer, vodka/lemonade, beer drafts and even slushie rum drinks. The performances and bands that attended this year was everything I had expected and more. It was so much fun. If you have never been to Rock on the Range .. GET THERE! You will not regret it.

Well actually there are parts that I don't remember, but I have pictures. Not a single band disappointed. Numerous bands overachieved. Wolfmother crushed it. Shinedown, FFDP, Zombie, Red Hot were all superb but in the end Disturbed was my favorite when they brought the crowd to a standstill with the Sound of Silence. It was a powerful moment. We re already planning for next year.

Well, let's start off with pricing, the event was absolutely worth the money you put into it, especially so if you go all three days and get field passes. From Friday, the event kicked off with a bang. Staff are nice, and helpful. Sick Puppies came first on main stage and rocked the stadium. I was close to front and had a blast! Saw other shows till A Day to Remember came on. The crowd got a little scary, but overall a huge exciting jam session. Loved it for real. It rained after then, and we stayed for most of the rest of the night till Disturbed for it was too cold and we were drenched. SO. HAPPY THAT IT IS RAIN OR SHINE THOUGH. BIG PLUS. Saturday started off with rain. It sucked at first but Steel panther, FFDP, and Rob Zombie came on and it got better. The rain stopped around then too. Got up into the huge crowd for Zombie and it was unforgettable. Wild and crazy, it was a blast. Sunday was perfect. Bring Me the Horizon was a little scary. My girlfirend, me, and two friends got all the way to the front for them so we could stay for chili peppers, but when the set started, the crowd got so crazy they were pushing and shoving and crushing us, and this 15 year old who was up with us. People were getting hurt and we had to be lifted out. I would not recommend this. It got out of hand. But we trucked on. We took a four hour break, and then got in for Red Hot and I want to say, we came for them. First time ever seeing them, and they blew the show away. Red hot left me crying and sore from all the hard rocking they did. Their funky show blew my head to pieces. The crowd really got together and showed some love. Rock on the Range will have me coming back no doubt

I have to say Rock on the Range couldn't have started the whole three day shindig with a better band! From the very start, it was just fantastic! However, because they had a favorite on first, the rest seemed to be just not as good! There were some terrific bands though all weekend long. It got kicked off right at the Jager Stage with local band, XFactor1!! First playing there as an unsigned band in '09, they made their return there for the 3rd time!! What an incredible set from them! Got it started off with their song, 'Peace, Love, & Alcohol from their latest cd release called Reboot: The System! They also included fan/friend favorites of Parasite, Break You, Live Another Day, and they finished it off with one of their most metal and oldest songs called 'Never!' Still my favorite band!! :) Another highlight in my opinion was the band who went on last at the Jager Stage~Hatebreed! Super energized set by them as well! Included the songs, 'Dead Man Breathing,' 'Perseverance,' 'To the Threshold,' 'In Ashes They Shall Reap,' 'Destroy Everything,' etc!! So glad Rock on the Range brought some heavier and hardcore bands to the festival this year. So many other bands as well! Saturday, in my opinion the highlights were the duo of Swedish metal bands~ Sabaton & In Flames! If you have never heard their music, should definitely check them out!! These bands both got the fans pumped and into their sets!! They chanted Sabaton numerous times, showing our support for this band!! He really interacted with the crowd good! The surfers were out again during In Flames! A lot of other good bands took the stage~ too many to mention. So will just make note of one more highlight-this time from Sunday! Upon a Burning Body took the award for best band of the day!! The crowd was into their set and much moshing and crowd surfing going on!! Another decent surprise for me was female fronted band Marmozets! She can bring it with the big boys!!! To see a couple fans singing her every word! That is what makes concerts so special & I can definitely relate, since I was singing along with QBall from the first band XF1!! Anyway, to sum it up this is the sixth year I have gone & have just a fantastic X every year!! You should dO iT!!!

This is the fifth year that I have gone to this event in Columbus!! It is my one most important short road trip/vacay of the year !! My fav band is located in this town and they usually play the campground party!! When I first saw this lineup, I was not quite as excited as I have been in other years, just because some of the bands that I would have liked to have seen there were not on the schedule. I know they have to vary their bands from year to year, and this year was fabulous really!! Instead of staying put at one stage all day to see bands/favorites, I wandered from stage to stage, because none of my favs were there and I have to say, I have become new fans of a couple of different bands there!! Highlights in my opinion and most memorable were King810, Avatar, and Miss May I. Am so glad I got to see them !! Also got to see Killswitch Engage who I've never seen before!! I had a great time in the media tent, because I am a dj on an online radio station and going from stage to stage !!

Not only did this event have people that I've been dying to see in concert ever since elementary school and beyond, but the people that are there with you are genuine as well. I had stadium seating and as long as you left something on your seat, no one would bother it! So you could go off and eat, see the side stage bands, or go meet your favorite artists at one of the many signing tents they have and you could come right back to the main stage to find your spot there! I planned out each day for my friend and I, but the last day we ran late (the first thing we had started at 2) because parking was ATROCIOUS. so I suggest that even if you don't have something until later in the day, that you still get there early enough. Other than that, I loved everything about it.

ClarksGirl
Fantastic 3-day music festival catering to the hard rock enthusiasts, which offered something for every sub-genre of hard rock (classic, metal, thrash, southern, etc.). Three stages alternating live music performances with some sets being as short as 30 minutes and as long as 2 1/2 hours - depending on the artist and stage. There is no readmittance to Crew Stadium, so plan your day well! (I.E. you can NOT go back to your car, after being inside the Stadium - so no back and forth and that's sort of a bummer, but understandable.) Stadium seats are the way to go, if you don't want to stand the entire time and risk being crowd suffered or in a mosh pit. There is no reserved seating in the stadium, so arrive early for a good seat. However, people move back and forth from stage to stage - so keep an eye out for closer, open seats! Take a poncho (in case of rain, as there is no cover in the stadium) Hotels fill up fast - reserve your rooms early to avoid being far from the stadium (unless you don't want to be surrounded by "Rangers") and the camping spots often sell out within minutes. Crew Stadium is easy to navigate and in addition to the stadium facilities (bathrooms and food/beverage vendors), the festival organizers made sure to have lots and lots of personal convenience stations (port-o-potties) placed everywhere (parking lots, field, outer stage and midway areas)! Additional vendors including food, souvenirs, beverage and more were represented in the midway and at the entrance gates. Parking is $20 per day. We opted for VIP Parking of $35 per day (advance purchase) which offered closer parking - right next to the stadium. All the stadium staffers were extremely friendly and helpful. No outside food permitted past the first set of security gates. Overall? This was our first experience and we had a great time. We will definitely go back in 2015, purchasing Stadium Admissions and VIP Parking.

There is too much too say of how awesome this weekend was. I met so many great bands, got to go backstage for Seether, rocked the hell out for a total of 24 bands and had a badass time! This was my 4TH YEAR going and it was well worth it! Can't wait for my 5-Year anniversary next year in 2015! I will for sure celebrate that one and hope that the line-up is just as insane! It keeps getting better every year :) There is a reason why Rock on the Range is considered a home to me. And THIS is why.

Parking costed almost as much as the tickets! Ridiculous. Need more food variety. Main stage sound was hit or miss- one band would sound fantastic, then the next would sound muffled. The small stages had fantastic sound-and a lot of great bands that belonged on the main stage!

This is the first year that I went every day, and I don't know why I waited to do it. The line up was amazing and the people were so much fun. Won tons of free swag, and got to meet and greet about half the bands that I really wanted to see. And if you keep your eyes open you'll see bands walking around before and after their shows. This is the best bang for your buck rock show out there.... Why wouldn't you want to go?

This was my first year at ROTR and it didn't disappoint one bit. The line ups were amazing. I bought the tickets originally for Guns N' Roses and Avenged Sevenfold, but as the three days went on I came to love many bands. A smaller band called Devour the Day was The first band I saw and were amazing! After black stone cherry, black label society and seether I was beat up from the mosh pits but feeling amazing. Day 1 ended with an amazing performance by GNR. The second day was just as great as Slayer and A7X took the stage and blew me away. Amazing performance by both! Then the third day was great as I saw a very convincing Robert Plant play with Jason Bonham's led zeppelin experience. And 5 Finger Death Punch was awesome, and in my personal opinion think they should have headlined Sunday but still, amazing show and definitely coming back next year.

This was my first Rock on the Range. I had heard a lot of good things about the festival, and it was a great opportunity to see a ton of my favorite bands all at once. It was sold out this year, with tens of thousands of people attending. The weather this year was CRAZY--it was overcast on Friday, frigid (including rain and HAIL) on Saturday, and sunny and warm on Sunday. I didn't expect that I'd have to drop $40 on a rain coat at a local store, but in the end it was worth it. The setup for this year included three stages: --A small stage on the west outer lot --A medium stage on the east outer lot --The main stage on the north end of the stadium The thing that I liked most about this setup was that it was really easy to get up front for nearly all of the small stage shows, and most of the "earlier" shows on the other two stages. On the small stage, I particularly enjoyed Truckfighters, Gojira, Twelve Foot Ninja, and Crobot, which I had never heard of before this weekend. Nothing More, playing on the medium stage, impressed the hell out of me. They had some technical difficulties that ate up over 10 minutes of their set, but they kept composure, re-did their wiring, and still ROCKED. They have a really unique sound, in part because they have *two* drummers. Definitely check them out! A few other comments about the experience: --The hotels in the area book up VERY quickly. Make your hotel reservations IMMEDIATELY after you buy tickets. I waited several weeks and paid an arm and a leg just to stay fairly far away from the venue. --The small and medium stages have bands play at the same time. I was very lucky that I didn't have to choose my favorites. On a few occasions I tried to see 10 minutes of the small-stage band and then walk to the medium stage for some of their set. However, keep in mind that with the crowds and vendors it will take several minutes to work your way from one side of the venue to the other. If I had to do it again, I would've looked up all the smaller bands on iTunes in advance and just stuck around for the entire set list. --Parking this year was $20 per day. Either budget for a cab ride, or drive from your hotel and pick a DD. --It should come as no surprise that the food vendors price-gouged everything. Expect to pay $8 for beer, $8 for a Papa Johns personal pan pizza, and $4 for water. --BRING A COLLAPSIBLE WATER BOTTLE that you can stuff in your pocket. You don't want to be holding on to an empty bottle all day. --Bring a small drawstring backpack to hold your stuff like sunscreen, merchandise, etc.

While I was really excited about seeing Soundgarden (and they did not disappoint), Alice In Chains really stole the show if not the weekend. What a great show that was indeed. Before Alice In Chains, Gavin Rossdale of Bush got the crowd going by basically running off the stage and halfway down the side of the stadium seats. All the while, he continued to sing a cover of Come Together without losing his breath or missing a beat. Talk about being in shape!!!

From the very beginning this was a show to remember! Already the anticipation was great!! I was getting to see my absolutely FAVORITE band twice in TWO DAys!! XFactor1 began the FESTIVAL with a huge punch!! It was SO nice to see them back tearing up the Jager STAGE!! Were there in '09 and this local favorite of Columbus proved they can pull in a crowd, just by looking out at the sea of people & all the XXXXS! They included songs, like 'Bring It On, Break You, Live Another Day , Never and Parasite' - their newest single! These are fan favorites and crowd pleasers. Next up was Love and Death, one of Head's bands. This was on the Monster Main Stage! Very impressive and great set & show! Other highlights of this first evening was In Flames and of course Korn!! You better believe the surfers were out and start of bottle & shoe throwing!! Definite a TERRIFIC first start to the Range!! There was a ton of good music yet to come on Saturday!! Pop Evil started it off on the Main Stage & the whole lineup on this stage was strong!! All these bands played hits of theirs and were pleasing for the crowds to see. Other groups included All That Remains, Bullet for My Valentine, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, and Stone Sour! Personal highlights on the Pabst Stage included Black Veil Brides & Asking Alexandria! Of course, there were some good surprises on the Jager Stage to include Gemini Syndrome & Scorpion Child! I could go on about sets, but would lead to super lengthy review. Now on to Sunday!! The absolute highlight for me was seeing Lamb of God again!! So good to see how everything worked out and Randy being back with them!! They played songs, like 'Walk with Me in Hell' and 'Redneck.' The crowds were definitely out to see this one!! Device went on before them & were very good!! They of course have the vocals of David D. (also from Disturbed). I must also include SEVENDUST and Red, their sets definitely stick out in my mind!! They destroy it on stage and show their passion and energy!! Sevendust included songs like 'Praise,' 'Splinter,' & 'Face to Face' in their set!! And Red sang songs such as 'Death of Me & Let Go.' They also included new songs in their set!! Make sure to check out their new albums!! One last personal FAV part of every RANGE is wtihout a doubt the Campground Party, once again with XF1! You don't get any other band who pays so much attention to fans & work like they do!!! They destroyed it!! Their set was fantastic with songs like 'I Fight Me & Shadow of Desperation!' They have such precision & passion with every show!! Check them out!! Because of this 2X in 2 Days, plus the other bands made this an incredible year of music!! Prove once again that I will be a Ranger 4 LIFe!!

I am so glad that here in Columbus Ohio we have Rock On The Range to look forward to every year. It's always a great show you get to see so many bands. If you are a Rock fan this is the place to go! The fans are great everyone is so respectful of each other. I also love the idea that a person in a wheelchair also gets to crowd surf, first goes the wheelchair and then the person, that is true Rocker spirit! Ready for next year!!

This was my first year going to ROTR and I really wasn't sure what to expect. I travelled 51/2 hours with 3 of my friends and it was totally worth it. It was a bummer that we couldn't bring a backpack in with us or be able to leave and come back. We ended up only being able to shove a few essentials (phone, sunscreen and wallets) into the two purses we had. So we were outside for 11hours straight and it was HOT. Luckily we found shade throughout the day and it never stormed like the forecast said was going to. Next year we are planning on getting VIP tickets if they don't sellout before we can get some. I can't wait till ROTR 14!

I'm a 5 year veteran for ROTR and it just keeps getting better. Whenever ya can, I HIGHLY recommend grabbing some friends and hittin up the VIP. FREE BEER and FREE BUFFET with a funtastic view and field admission. You never know who you're gonna meet down there. That's where I got my VIP wristband, which also got me up close, side stage......

Rock on the Range was overall amazing. I got to see some of my favorite musicians. It was hot and sticky, smelly, and fun. I wouldn't have it any other way. The only thing I would have to say is parking was a complete nightmare. You pay tons of money to park and then there is nowhere to park or people parked stupid so they take up a bunch of room. Wasting parking spaces. Food and drink were a little ridiculous as well but I expected that. Most events have overly priced food.

Stayed at the main stage both days. Saturday there was lots of pushing in the crowds, increase of people during Korn and Avenged Sevenfold (saturdays headliners). Rev Theory rocked! My Boyfriend won a custom made gibson guitar signed by Hinder. And Korn finally played shoots and ladders! Sunday I got right up to the barricade and stayed there all day! All That Remains got crazy with crowd surfers. I enjoyed watching Back Label Society. Then BFMV rocked everyones faces off! I got a guitar pic and the guy next to me got a drumstick. Afterwards I got their autograph Best rock on the range yet!!

It was a really awesome day! The bands were great and the venue was good. The line to get your floor/alcohol wristbands was really long and i think they could have had more people working in that line so it went faster. The hosing down of the crowd after it cooled down was a completely unneccesary and rather annoying. All of the bands put on a good show and it was worth the money.
