I've been a fan of Jon Lovitz for years but never had a chance to see him in person. When I heard he was coming to AC I jumped at the chance and bought a ticket. I kept my expectations in check right up until he came out on stage; I was laughing from the very start. He blew me away. His standup was better than I imagined. I was literally laughing the entire time. If he ever comes back to the area I am buying another ticket.

Extremely fun night with three former SNL STARS! To see in person, spontaneous and new and fresh was a real treat. Longer with all three would have been perfect. The energy in the room was palpable. a must experience! Hope they come around again. And Tim-lighten up!

I have been a John Lovitz fan ever since he appeared on SNL . I just love the way he brings his voice to change with the characters he plaays . I was hoping to see some of these characters in his stand up but didn't . he was very good don't get me wrong but he should realize there are people my age in the audience and we like the old as well as the new Jon . If your reading this Jon take note and come back . The next time make it a little more "retro" .

I love all the cartoons and movies he has been in. Thought he would be a little funnier, but amazed at what a great singing voice he has. Loved it. A couple people walked out because of his humor...but they must not have cable.

Dana Carvey was on first and had the crowd roaring. Then Lovitz came on and put on an entire show based on gay men and graphic gay sex. Then Dana came back out and Lovitz drug him down to his level on gay sex. I am no prude and there were some funny jokes on the topic but there was overkill. I can't believe there aren't other topics that could have been used.

Great 25 minute stand-ups by both Dana and Jon. Then the pair gets together for the most awkward, unrehearsed clip-fest. Out of respect to the comedians I did not walk out. But I wanted to.

The comedians performance was excellent. We enjoyed it immensely. The drawbacks to the evening had more to do with the venue operations. Tickets and promotional information indicated a 8:30 start time. The show actually starts at 9:00. Also they were filming, which proved problematic for a great number of the seats, ours included. There was no advance warning, when purchasing tickets, of filming taking place, nor that a number of seats would be impacted with obstructed views. This took away from the evenings enjoyment considerably.

I bought 2 really expensive tickets and had great seats at this cool venue. Unfortunately, the show did not live up to our expectations. In fact, we left early. Rationale for our discontent: (1) Highlight reels from SNL and movies: Really? You're going to charge us that much money and then roll 20+ year old video clips. Then, you even didn't have one clip that you touted. Boring and ouch. 2. Lovitz was horrible: I don't think he wanted to be there. He definitely didn't rehearse. And, his intense focus on material that brutally lambasted homosexuality really made me wonder what closet he's hiding in. 3. No chemistry. Do they even know each other? Did they talk about their individual routines? Again, did they rehearse? 4. SLS sucks: Even Dana said so during his performance. Truly, don't waste your time or money. Instead, go out of your way to see Drew Thomas. He is hilarious.

I love these two comedians but the show was like a dress rehearsal. It wasn't their funniest material and they were not at their best, especially Lovitz who pretty much "phoned in" his performance. It seemed like they put together the idea on a napkin in the coffee shop and then came out and tried to do a show.

Dana Carvey recited all the same jokes from his recent show on Netflix. Would not recommend if you're looking to be entertained with something new! Also, the show was very much oriented to middle aged conservative folk!

I liked the show, but I could hardly understand what they were saying, the sound was so bad for a show in which you have to be able to understand every word they say! They are both great comedians, I had seen the latest Netflix special for Dana Carvey and there were a lot of repeats, so if you are seeing them I'd recommend you don't see the Netflix show and if you've seen it and decide to see them live, expect some repetition

I am a huge Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey fan. Their show was funny, exciting and hilariously stimulating. There's music and if you didn't already know this Jon Lovitz could have been another Paul Simon. He's has a beautiful voice. Dana can kick ass with his dead on impressions of every one that's famous. So damn funny. Him and Lovitz are funny as hell on stage. The show is well paced and entertaining.

I've seen him before but my companion hadn't. I don't expect performers to recycle all their old material but a couple of new references to the compulsive liar would've pleased his fan base. But making fun (which wasn't funny) of Bob Saget's sexuality and going off for several minutes about how Jon himself was not a racist, didn't make for a fun evening. Won't bother seeing him again.

We saw Jon's standup at the Parlor in Seattle. We were fans of him from his SNL days, and we were pretty stoked because we saw many positive reviews of his standup. I am sorry to say that this was one of the worst standups we have ever been to. After starting 45 minutes late (putting a 10P performance out to almost 11!), there wasn't any funny material. His jokes lacked wit or forethought. They were obvious or derivative (think Bill Cosby...) and went on for too long on any one topic - OR they were weird, racist/bigoted jokes. We are not a group that offends easily, and some of the best comedy is edgy and maybe even questionable at times - but this was none of the above. It was just plain offensive. We actually left halfway through the performance. What a waste of time and money, and what a sad end to a career that started off kind of brightly.....

I wasn't sure what to expect from Jon Lovitz as I was surprised to see that he was doing standup, but my husband and I were really happy with the show. He was engaging and warm and it was very enjoyable evening. Our two sons and their girlfriends also enjoyed the show. Comedy is a regular outing for us, and we tend to be slightly picky about who we see. I'm not sure we would've gone to SF just for this show (It's kind of a long drive), but I'm really happy that we caught it. Very worthwhile show.

Started out just fine... Tim Meadows did a good job, even though I was hoping he could do more than the majority of his race related comedy- funny but the topic just seems worn out. Jon Lovitz came on and I just love his style. He is just a funny person... but as his set wore on, it lost focus and some of the bits were kind of out there and didn't resonate. Then.. towards the end he just kind of wandered to his electric piano.. and nothing of consequence came out of it... just fumbled for a while and then said.. that's it.. bye. So the night fizzled to an end.

I mistakenly thought that perhaps some of the famous skits from SNL might be expanded upon at this show. Unfortunately, no. This show was totally stand-up by the 2 guys. I also thought that perhaps a few of the other SNL alumni might show up as surprise guests; that didn't happen either. Hecklers actually broke Jon's act up (Lake Tahoe show) which put a shadow on the event. Where are the ushers when you need them?

I thought I would see them do some of their skits and interact with each other. What I got was an unfunny Katan, Meadows was so-so and Lovitz, on way too long, had too many infantile jokes and a lot of stupid teenage gay jokes. Just awful. I would say 10% of the people walked out during the show. They seemed disinterested and when the show ended and he asked the other 2 to come out and bow, they were not even around. Wish I wasn't around for it either! Save your money.

This was absolutely one of the lamest comedy shows i have ever seen. Way better laughs from nobodies at Brockerage or one of those venues. Kattan was an embarassment. Meadows flat. Lovitz had some moments, but not enough to make this worthwhile. Ugh.

I thought this event lacked humor for the most part. Chris Kattan was no better than an average comedian, Tim Meadows was actually very funny but his set was rather short. John Lovitz simply dragged on way too long. He way far too dry, he was coughing and sneezing half the time and kept blowing his nose too. I actually had to get up and walk out to save myself from the boredom of his set. Also, all 3 comedians complained about the quality of sound and how they were hearing echoes. Overall, 2 out of 5 stars is being generous considering the price of the tickets.

Better than I hoped! Howie Mandel's comedy club is an intimate venue at the new Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City. The opening comedian was mediocre at best talking about his family life with mildly amusing stories about his daughters. Then Jon Lovitz came out with his hilarious brand of humor and delivery. The audience was in stitches. If you like Jon's personality and humor on SNL, you will deft love his comedy stand-up.

I've been a fan of Jon Lovitz for a long time - SNL and The Critic are two particular favorites so I was shocked to see tickets selling under face value. I'm no longer shocked. Starting out with "too ugly to rape" jokes, I was ready to leave but friends said "wait, he can't be this bad". Then the homophobic rant started and I got up and moved to the back of the venue, at this point my friends were like ok maybe we'll join you in a few minutes. Once the pro trump rhetoric started they met me in the back and we left. He wasn't topical or edgy as some suggest, he's just an angry old man.

Jon Lovitz's humor requires paying attention. If you aren't up on current events his "takes" might fly by you. Like most every comedian, he picks on various groups. My wife overheard a few ladies complaining and saying they almost walked-out. "Well, Slap My Ass and Call Me Judy!" Look, Jon can be rude, but his humor isn't all that raunchy. If HIS stuff offends you, you don't belong in a Comedy Show! Jon is still working on his "act". I didn't know he began as an actor. See, comedic actors aren't necessarily "comedians", just as comedians aren't necessarily actors. There is a place in the middle where they try to meet. Jon is getting there and I'm glad. He is one of my favorites and the more of him I get to see, the happier I am. Good job, Jon!

Not alot of energy from these SNL stars. Good impressions from Dana Carvey but not much direction or comedy flow. He kept notes on yellow paper on stage of various impressions he was to do....Then he would be randomly checking his phone during his act. I usually don't care if someone checks their phone but I do care when I've paid $100/seat to watch them do it. John lovitz routine had some funny moments but his peak show portion was a song medly to Bob sagat being "allegedly" gay. Show wrapped up with both of them on stage talking to and over each other - not much comedy - just reminiscing on their favorite SNL moments...With a couple of clips of SNL for the audience to watch. Then the show ended.....Kind of sad and I expected more comedy than an SNL retrospect.

We went because we love Jon and Dana. The show was 1 1/2 hrs long, so you got 1/2 hr each, and then 20 mins together. Each one spent 10 mins at least on politics, so we didn't really get enough of what we came for. Dana did a few impressions-they were great, but emphasis on few. Jon played the piano, which was a high point, he is really a talent. I am not sure why famous people think we want to hear their views, vs all of the great material that made them famous. We are still fans, but...

Dana Carvey was fantastic! He was nonstop funny with great impressions, humorous stories, and (best of all) delightful audience interactions! He can improvise and joke on-the-fly like no one else! So witty and insightful! Wonderfully funny stories. We laughed nonstop. Loved him!! Now everything that ruined the night... the show started more than 30 minutes late. And the seats were so uncomfortable. They were like the seats in a banquet hall and were pushed so close together that everyone was constantly elbowing one another. We finally got to laugh and forget the horrible setup for a bit after being so miserable when Dana Carvey came out...but after him was Jon Lovitz. What an angry miserable homophobic old man. Not funny at all. Very mean. His "jokes" were all over the place and not funny in a mean-spirited way. He came off as angry and incoherent. Was he drunk? We stopped laughing almost immediately. He went on and on making fun of people. I thought it would never end... and then it did...but only a little because Dana came back out and the two of them were on together. Why why why does Dana let him get away with such things and practically encourage him? Why!? Friends do not let friends be so mean and act like that in public. Pathetic. The show felt like it would never end (in a torture kind of way). We had so been looking forward to it and left so disappointed. Total buzzkill for our night. Please do not waste your money supporting such a mean bully.

Dana Carvey made me cry from laughing so much. What a talent - his impressions are spot on and totally relevant. As an SNL fan of the 80's-90's, he brought me right back and gave his audience what they love him for and what they came to see. Lovitz - not so much. His was more a stand-up act of gratuitously raunchy material. Why not tap into the equity he built from his "liar" character or "masterpiece theatre" character. This is what his audience was there for. I say - Dana Carvey should just do his own show! Also - the Carvey/Lovitz "chat" session should be more organized.

I took my husband to the John Lovitz and Dana Carvey Reunited show for his birthday. It was by far the most hilarious comedy show we've ever intended. Both my husband and I could not stop laughing (almost to the point of pain) throughout the show. While my husband is a huge fan of stand up comedy, I usually don't enjoy this type of entertainment. The evening got off to a bad start with a 30 minute late start. Inexcusable, The review in the local paper (published before we went) said that was a issue when the reviewer saw the show, too. Opened with a half hour set by Dana Carvey which was terrific. Next came a half hour set by Jon Lovitz which was choppy at best. The two played a few short musical bits for a few minutes (Lovitz:keyboard, Carvey: drums) before sitting down and answering questions on cards written by audience members. That section of the show needs a lot of work.

Dana Carvey was really funny. I would rate his show 4 - 4.5 stars. Enjoyed his impressions of all Presidents. He needs to break away from Lovitz who was crude, not funny at all and offensive. Came across as a dirty old man who talked about gays almost entire time.
