My husband and I took our 6 year old granddaughter to see Lord of the Dance-Dangerous Games. She was spell-bound for the entire program. When asked what she liked best she replied "the little spirit"...how did she do those moves with her body?" All three of us enjoyed the entire program...what talented dancers and wonderful costumes. We also enjoyed the singer and fiddle players. Of course the highlight was actually getting to see Michael Flatey in person...especially since he will be retiring. We feel fortunate to have been able to attend the event.

I sat in awe at this performance. I was not disappointed. Watching Michael Flatley dance was so thrilling. This is a must see if you are a fan of Irish Music, Michael Flatley, Lord of The Dance or just watching pretty people dance.
Well worth it. Some of the sets are a bit bizarre but it keeps your interest.

What an incredibly talented group of dancers. I have been following them for years...watched them on VHS and re-purchased it again when it came out on DVD. It was SO amazing to see it in person. Only fault was...I bought floor seats but wasn't able to see. I tried sitting on my foot to boost myself up but still was unable to see. So me and my father asked the ushers if it would be ok if we moved seats to higher ground. Kind of disappointing since I paid the extra money for floor seats, but to be able to see the talented dancers and their footwork was priceless. What an amazing show. I would absolutely go see it again!

Amazing to see Michael Flatley on his last tour. He still has the talent and the quality, and has prepared his successors very well. The entire cast is brilliant, and provided a show that had everybody enjoying until the very last second.

It's hard to imagine someones feet moving that fast. If you like dance or Irish music this is a show not to miss. The performance is non stop and good for all ages. We saw Riverdance on Broadway and this was as good if not better.

This show is amazing! I really enjoyed the whole performance and would see it again and again if I could. I am so sad about this being Michaels last show but the new kid who is taking over as the new Lord of the Dance is an amazing performer too. He really knows how to get the crowd going and performs will everything he has! The whole cast seems very lovely and performs without error! I HIGHLY recommend this show to anyone who is into the arts!

I am a dedicated Michael Flatley can....always was, always will be. I really loved the dancing as it was up to the level of Michael Farley and I loved the new "Lord of the Dance" that took over Michael's spot. He was awesome! With that said, I was disappointed in the costumes, did not like the guys taking off their shirts, and I did not like the monster sequence with the glowing eyes. I played premium money for the best floor seats and I got row N, 14th row. But all the seats on the floor were at the same level and if you were not in the first two rows, you could not see ANYTHING below the knees. My wife could not see any of the show at all. Because of this one issue, I have to say my perception of the show is "bad".

The performance was more than wonderful. Everybody on the stage showed how much they liked what they were doing. The screen in the background showed all the flamboyant dreams of Ireland. Michael Flatley proved again to be a legend of the dace and had everybody standing up with ovations. The only problem is that on Ticketmaster's site, on BB&T site and anywhere else was not published the fact that women's purses had to have a specific dimension (!?!), or you can find yourself invited outside, with the other members of your family trapped inside, unable to help you, because once admitted, nobody can leave the building. It was the most humiliating experience I had, instead of enjoying a beautiful evening.

Not what we expected or wanted. It was an overwrought, self-indulgent, merciless begging for recognition from Flatley and a sad, glitzy aging Las Vegas style act, completely dated variety show, with singers, theatrics, and abysmal choreography A waste of $170.00. Very sad.

Saw Riverdance years ago and was so excited to see the Lord of the Dance. It had a similar story line\u2026but who cares about the story! It was amazing!!!!! I never dreamed they would have so many people at the show, young and old. The place had an amazing vibe and energy. People stood up to applause every dance! Great show :)))

First, The BB&T Center seats were terrible. The whole row rocked back and forth when anyone moved. It made me sea sick. For the price you pay for these tickets the venue should be comfortable for the patrons. The show theme was very weird and the background was much too intrusive. It made it hard to see the dancers. The dancing was very good. The singer was less than great.

Great show. Theatrics including backdrops, costume and lighting added interest to the visual. The dancers showed athleticism and artistry. Very precise, yet clearly live and full of emotion. Wish they'd used big screens though. I'm glad my seats were close because from the back you probably couldn't see any detail at all. Also the side curtains blocked a good bit of the view for people in the side sections.

The show was real good (but not as good as the one about 10 years ago in Anchorage, Alaska), but the theater was a little disappointing. I was seated on the far left, and there was a big rope hanging all the way down to the stage and you just couldn't see as well. There were two screens on the left and the right that were used for advertisements, but I thought they could have been used to display the show as it was going on, so those of us on the extreme left could have seen it a lot better. The screens are used at the Reno Events Center, and I think it enhances the show.

Not only the dancing was superb but the stage setting was a show within a show. The costumes were great. The sound mix was not too loud which made the performance that much better. During the vocals every word was understandable and clear. Overall a superb production, amazing the amount of energy sustained through such a rigorous routine.

I was disappointed that the choreography was built around a "dark" play incorporating evil vs good. We have enjoyed Lord of the Dance in years past when the dancers tapped in different costumes and entertained the audience. The video backdrop of this event was distracting from the dancers.

I would not recommend this show to anyone. It was more about loud dark special effects and skimpy dressed girls slithering around than clogging. I'm not sure why they think they needed to sex it up to make it a good show.. It was embarrassing to sit there with my wife and a female client. I've told a dozen people in the last 2 days not to go if it comes to their town. The last five minutes of the show were the best. They had a Virtual dance on screen of real clogging and the group came out fully clothed and did a bang up good job of clogging the way it should be done...with clothes on!

We went to see more of Flatley's unbelievable work. We we're disappointed in that the solo vocalist was weak, off-key and seemingly out-of-place. As for the main event, we went to hear noise. Lots of noise (tap dancing). The gymnastics, video/animations, and ballet were very weak, amateurish and inappropriate. Again, we went to hear a loud performance. The tap presentations/dancers were as outstanding as we expected them to be, but when things went quite, so did my opinion and excitement level. The advertising trailers showed what we expected and wanted to see, but that is not what we got.

We are new to Reno, and the shows available to see in the area is pretty nice. I saw one of the first of this type of show back in the 1990's, River Dance, and that was pretty impressive then. I feel this Lord of The Dance has emerged to be one of the most enjoyable shows I have ever seen. The choreography and overall story line were amazing. I would see this show again any time.

This new spin on Lord of the Dance tries to add more effects, more of a "robotic" theme and less traditional Irish Dance look. They missed the mark with this! The dancers, musicians and vocalists are immensely talented and when they perform Irish Dance style are magnificent. The updated costumes hid a lot of the footwork that makes Irish Dance so amazing to watch. The story line was very much the same as Lord of the Dance. It would have been better to keep the traditional Irish Dance look/sound and change the story line. Not a reflection of the show but I was shocked at how many latecomers there were. Some showed up an HOUR into the show. How rude folks! There is no excuse for that - just wait until intermission to be seated.

disappointing, amazing dancing upstaged by video graphics, sometimes it was hard to see dancers, tired story line of good vs bad, music drowned out rhythm of dancers, singer was bad and couldn't be understood, violinists good but out of place in this production, dancers in cyborg-type costumes really? bad guy steals good guy's sparkly belt really?!

Lord of the Dance never lets you down. Each of Michael Flatleys shows are just simply energizing, on edge of seat the entire night. Loved it!!! Mr. Flatley took the time for autographs and pictures, when he had a long drive ahead after the show. It was Precious to see the little future Irish dancers get \\hugs/pics/autographs/ words of encouragement from Mr. Flatley. Some were in tears and an evening they will never forget. That meant the World to them and me to see how he truly cares for his fans.

The show was entertaining. However, I was expecting that the show will follow the original storyline. The numbers were shorter and I felt that the female dances did not have much of a spotlight. The male dancers were excelente and the main dance was great to watch. The screen was distracting at times. Very enjoyable show.

I wanted to love this so bad. I've seen Flatley in LOTD and Celtic Tiger; Amazing every time. The advertising for this show is so misleading. If I'd had a better understanding of the show, I probably would have gone anyway, but just think others should be aware of what they're paying for. Flatley does not perform in the show. He comes out for a closing number, dances for about 2 minutes, then the theater goes dark. Screens at the back of the stage show video of Flatley dancing, which is very impressive and looks to be fairly recent. Wish we could have seen that live! After the video, Flatley comes back out for an encore, same closing number as the original LOTD. Dances for a couple minutes, show over. Like I said, I would have gone anyway just to see him dance one last time before he retires, but even the rest of the show was sub-par. This is LOTD revisited. Same story, same sequence of dance numbers, same characters, but the music is all re-worked and the whole show is modernized and hi-teched. Glowing battle uniforms, sexy costumes, guys dancing with shirts off much of the time. Very little of a traditional Irish folk look throughout. It felt very Vegas, which made me sad. I don't think that's what traditional fans were after with this show. I did, however, like the use of video projection to transform the set. Very colorful and whimsical and frequently dramatic. And, thankfully, the dancing was impeccable. Very high level of talent, and choreography was pretty good, though again, not as appealing as the original.

Really enjoyed this high-energy show! Even if you are not a fan of high end, precision step dancing, you can't help but admire the athleticism. The male lead dancer was phenomenal. The female singer had a wonderful voice but the songs were a bit sappy -- would have preferred some good Irish ballads. Great fun to see that Flatley still has fast feet (could have done without him kissing and touching the women dancers, kind of creepy). Regarding Comerica Theater: what a disappointment. We got good tickets but could hardly see the footwork because the stage is below the heads of those in the first 5 rows, so we were peering through a sea of heads. The seating slope is way too shallow and the stage needs to be raised a few feet for better viewing. I will generally avoid this venue in the future. It also took nearly 30 minutes to exit the parking lot.

We have seen Lord of the Dance two times before but came this time, to see Michael Flatley in person. This new version was very different than the original presentation, so many years ago, and we felt that there should have been less digital graphics which were always a part of the scene and that detracted from the dancers. In fact, the scenes never changed, the digital screen backgrounds is the only thing changed on stage. Still, all the dancers are amazing but it was all worthwhile once Flatley appeared, the excitement of the audience escalated.

Was really looking forward to this. But within the first few minutes realized it was very "cheesy" with the digital villian that looked like a borg from Star Trek. Some of the dance numbers were okay but the final good versus evil fight scene where the winner received a WWF blinged out wrestling belt was just too much. I wish I could have my evening out with my wife back again so we could go do something else. Oh well.

We went to see Dangerous Games because we've wanted to see THE Lord of the Dance, Michael Flatley. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to us that Michael is 20 or so years older than he was when his show first caught our attention! That is not to say that his replacement was not anything but awesome because he was and both he and the cast were very entertaining.

Although many changes have been made compared to the show from the 90´s (mainly in the music), the dancing numbers (choreography) still have the effect and impact from the original show. And having the opportunity to see Mr. Flatley performing on stage, makes this spectacle a must see.

I was pretty excited to see this show, and for my 12-year old daughter to experience it. My overall impression is that someone wanted to make a change to the Lord of the Dance show and came up with the bizarre concepts that are "Dangerous Games." There was no clear pattern to the extra bits and they completely detracted from the point of the show. For example: - There was a very mediocre singer who sang three songs unrelated to any other part of the show that I could tell--but she was so drowned out by the music that maybe I just missed something. - There was a set by the female Irish dancers during which they whipped off their dresses and danced in their bras and underwear. - There were a number of very strange video effects that didn't appear to relate to the dancing (and a couple that did). - The primary male dancer gestured to the audience to applaud several times, and it was...odd. The crowd applauded wildly whenever there was an actual group Irish dance sequence--I'm pretty sure that's what we were there for. But the negative outweighed the positive and made it unsuitable for kids. Also, the theater staff decided to open the side doors during the intermission--it was 45 degrees outside, so the cold air and cigarette smoke from people standing outside the door made things pretty unpleasant.

First, I like to say thank you for all those involved in bringing the show to our neck of the woods. Credit is certainly due to you all. The 2 hour show with included 20 minute intermission was outstanding but had a few minor glitches. Lets start with the good points. The music was well done. It was dramatic, upbeat, and top-tapping fun. The overall set with its 2-tiered stage and digital screen background gave it a modern look and each backdrop went well with each dancing segment. The dancing was amazing. That is what the majority of us paid for to see, right? Well, you will not be disappointed. The performers delivered. It was so good that a few dancing numbers had standing ovations and all the performers costumes looked good especially the futuristic robot looking ones. Speaking of futuristic robots, that was one of the minor glitches in the show. The first time they came out on stage one of the 5 robots' lights on the costumes went out completely but the show must go on. Also, one of the female dancers in the back row of one of the dancing numbers fell to the floor but quickly got up again and continued. The last glitch was the female goddess singer. She came out on stage to sing a few times and unfortunately she got progressive worse. People were getting up and leaving during her singing. Overall, it was well worth the money seeing it live and similar to the dvd performance but had a modern twist to it which was appreciated. Finally, Michael Flatley does make an appearance during the closing number and dances a little which gets the crowd roaring with applause.

Lord of the Dance, meets Cirque de Soleil / Las Vegas, meets American Idol, meets a cruise line cabaret show, meets Chippendales. Unfortunately, the show had very little in common with the Lord of the Dance I saw twenty years ago. On a smaller stage, they shortened most of the Irish dance routines, there was no live band, the costumes were a combo of Las Vegas (harem pants, come on!) with only one set with traditional Irish costumes. At one point the women stripped down to their skivvies and later the men came out shirtless. There was a large digital display that was used appropriately at times, but other times was either shooting flames or appealing to the My Little Pony set. I will say that the Irish dancing was phenomenal and the lead dancer was very good. Sadly, they switched out the traditional Irish songs to English love songs (Celine Dion or the like). And, due to the skimpy, Las Vegas-like costumes, I was embarrassed for the families who had brought their young Irish dancing children to see the show. Michael Flatley did make a guest appearance and danced for two numbers. At first, I was reminded of Liberace, but when he ditched the white tux tails, the routines worked. He can still dance and has all the charisma that he did twenty years ago. I ll go with the moniker of Feet on Fire , but will go back to watching my Lord of the Dance DVD.

Great show. After twenty years of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, we kind of take it for granted that you can pull together a couple dozen Irish step dancers and have them perform complicated dance numbers flawlessly. Still, it is remarkable that such difficult, technically precise, and demanding dancing can be performed to perfection while also acting out the role of characters in a story with dramatic effect. The lead male dancer suffers from the ridiculous expectation that he not only match Flatley's original portrayal of the Lord of the Dance in his dance steps (which he pretty much does), but also in his on-stage presence and charisma (completely impossible for anyone). The "bad guy" dancer does an excellent portrayal of his character, perhaps even exceeding Daire Nolan in the intensity he brings to his character, while also giving an incredible dancing performance. The lead female dancer gives a strong performance, however in 1 or 2 numbers, when all eight dancers are blondes, the quality of the dancing and the show was somewhat taken over by a feeling one could be watching a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader tryout. The "bad girl" dancer was great, but again, she will not make you forget Gillian Norris, whose lithe dance steps and hand movements seemed to pull you into her spell. The ending - made the price of admission meaningless. What price is one willing to pay to see Babe Ruth hit? Paul Newman act? Paul McCartney sing? Or Michael Flatley dance? Pretty much any price!

I was lucky enough to see Michael Flatley and Riverdance twice once 18 years ago and 16 years ago. After seeing multiple shows on Broadway and the Kennedy Center, his show was the best I have ever seen. I purchased tickets for the Los Angeles show for months in advance. It was cancelled via email 4 days before the event with no explanation. I went ahead and purchased tickets for the San Diego show at the last minute and drove 3 hours in the pouring rain to the show. In comparison to his other two shows 15 years ago I was completely disappointed. He only appeared in the last 5 to 7 Minutes of the show and barely danced at all. A complete disappointment no I would not recommend this show and I wish I had never attended.

Flatley again has proven that he is the guiding talent and force behind River Dance, and on forward. Talent and choreography are of the highest caliber. Special effects were amazing. Flatley is a master who has obviously developed future masters of his craft. WELL DONE MICHAEL FLATELY!!!!!!!!!!!

It you've seen the original show and are a fan of traditional Irish dancing, do not purchase tickets for this show. As a 24 year old who grew up watching and re-watching the original Lord of the Dance on VHS, I was sorely disappointed. I purchased tickets for Dangerous Games with the knowledge that it was a newer, flashier version of the show, however the amount of deviation was astounding. First off, the stage is set with an awful animated backdrop that looks like something out of a video game. The cheesy graphics are of poor quality and detract from the dancing occurring on stage. The costuming appeared cheap and nontraditional; hardly a scrap of clothing resembling what is seen in the old show. The show's artistic director also feels the need for the dancers to dance in less clothes. For the women, Dangerous Games gives them costumes that a stripper might wear, not to mention the updated choreography that lends little to the imagination and, again, for the female dancers, is only missing a stripper pole. The music is hardly traditional. One wonders if he or she is listening to Irish pipes, African drums, or new-age crystal music. The singing was atrocious and pointless. The original show includes several songs, however they're Celtic and traditionally-based, benefiting the audience's experience of the show. Dangerous Game's singers, while talented, are silly and trite, and the lyrics are embarrassingly awful. And to top off this barnyard explosion, are the dancing robots. Yes, performers dressed at robots with light-up costumes and all. The only positive points about this show is the principle male lead. His dancing is superb and his mannerisms are very reminiscent of the young Micheal Flately of the original show. The hard shoe dancing as a whole is wonderful and lends credence to the original. And it's nice to see Micheal Flately dance the finale of the show, however the audience only sees him for about five minutes total. Overall, this show was a tremendous disappointment for a patron who loves the original show. The concepts of Dangerous Games are wild and unrefined, which confuses the audience and muddles any sort of plot. Why Micheal Flately or the artistic directors decided to update the phenomenal show that was beloved by so many is beyond me. And why they decided to stray from a dancing and plot-based show to a flashy, pyrotechnic flop is a question I'd love to understand the answer to.

Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance "Dangerous Games" far surpassed my expectations. I am so pleased I had the opportunity to see Michael dance since this is his farewell tour. Only 4 stars because I would have liked to see more of Mr. Flatley dance.

If you've never seen Lord Of The Dance, this is an amzaing show. For us it was a recomposition of the dances and music of the original LOTD. Personally I prefer the old shows. Although the new lead dancer is fantastic, we were mainly there to see Michael Flatley dance. Had we known he would only dance during the last 10 minutes, and 5 minutes of that were a prerecorded hologram of him, we would have been better prepared.

This is the second time I have seen Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and it was just as exciting as when I saw it 18 years ago. However, I did not know Michael Flatley would only be doing the finale and someone else took his place through most of the program. But, I did not think he would still be able to endure the entire show being older and such. However, still an exciting show and there is no finale like this one. Amazing! I was not that crazy about the video backdrop. When I saw this 18 years ago, there was more of an elaborate stage set.

First, let me say that I did not purchase the tickets to this event, they were a Christmas present. That said... The event started out with an ear shattering, internal organ shaking level of sound, which culminated in a sonic boom which shook the entire building. Then the dancers came on the stage, and even though our daughter had purchased 7th row tickets for us, they unfortunately were on the floor where probably only the first row or two could see anything. The other 1500 or so patrons with floor seating had very limited line of sight. I had approximately a 12-inch viewing area, which in the first half I could see anything that took place on the far right of the stage. Again unfortunately, most of the action was on center stage. The second half, the couple in front of me swapped places and she would block that 12 inches in an effort to see something herself when anyone accidentally danced to that part of the stage. The sound remained deafening the entire performance, but was ameliorated slightly in the second half by the toilet paper I obtained and stuffed in my ears. And even the sound of the taps was on the sound track. Kind of sounds like cheating. the eventual good concurring evil, was admirable, but robots aren t really my thing.

Attended both Riverdance and Lord of the Dance in 10 days. Enjoyed Riverdance immensely. Found Lord of the Dance overrated. The theme was convoluted and tended toward violence. The female cast outfits were scanty and sometimes unflattering. Michael Flatley seems to prefer his female performers to be underdressed, which takes away from the dancing. One act with the villains and the nymph had violent, bullying overtones, which I found distasteful. It is too bad that he is using this theme for his final tour. At one time, his shows were enjoyable and of better quality. This is not it. If this it the best that he can do, then it is just as well that he retire. I will attend Riverdance shows in the future, but would not waste my money on any Michael Flatley production.

What I thought I paid for was to see Michael Flatley perform in Lord of the Dance. However, he did not appear on stage until the encore & was on stage for no more than 10 minutes and probably only danced for about 2 minutes. Though the performers were very talented, I was very disappointed because I feel that I did not get to see what I thought I paid for.

Lord of the Dance was one of the best performances I have ever seen. I've always loved Michael Flatley. My husband had never been to a Michael Flatley performance, and isn't a typical dance fan. However, he loved Lord of the Dance and couldn't stop raving about the talent and entertainment!

When I bought tickets for my Dad to go on his birthday I didn't know what to expect since I had never gone to a Lord of the Dance show before. Beside of the floor seats not giving me the best view of the performers feet I was completely blown away. I appreciate people who are good at their art and I could not take my eyes away from them and tried to remember to breathe when they tapped away faster than I ever thought feet could move. You can tell these performers dedicate their entire lives and heart in what they do and they love what they do. Loved every moment and would definitely be looking forward to the next time I get to go.

Did not get the point of whatever story he was trying to tell. Costuming and certain themes were much different then I've seen Flatley or any type of Celtic dance do before. The dances were excellent, although I was surprised at the amount of ballet type dances from the ladies, was hoping for more of the pulse pounding beat of strong Irish step dancing. Too bad Flatley does not dance much of the show, except for the end, would have enjoyed seeing more if him. I did enjoy the show, was worth seeing.

In spite of the fact that the dancers were talented, I gave my review of Lord of the Dance, Dangerous Games, only a 3 rating. It was disappointing to only see Michael Flatley the last 10 minutes of the show live on the stage. Even though his understudy was talented, he did not have the same charisma. Michael Flatley is the glue for the show, especially when he appears in the principal's character throughout the production. Theme of "Good vs. Evil" portrayal was not my cup of tea. The costumes from hell were not the most delightful. Then there was no live orchestra.....no live musicians with those delightful Irish instruments. Only a sound track and huge screen. I enjoyed watching snippets of the show on youtube better because it's free!

After 20 years, it's understandable that they would want to change things up a bit, but not all changes are for the better. In particular, it seems that they've made the music "less Celtic," and as a Celtic music lover, this was definitely a change for the bad for me. Also, the music is all recorded (other than the featured fiddle/violin players). I would have preferred they brought back the live musicians. Another change is that there is a huge projection screen at the back of the stage, and they use this effectively at a few points in the show to display some cool images. If that had been all they used it for, that would have been fine, but they used it though the whole show to display basically background images during each act, and I found this more distracting than anything. I don't want this to sound too negative; it's still a good show, and not all of the changes were bad. The costumes are much more elaborate now, and that was fine. If you've never seen the show before, I highly recommend you go see it.
