Dirtybird BBQ

I write this review with much remorse as I have lots of love for the House music scene and Dirtybird in particular. However, this review need be written... The venue that's normally used for events at COTA was not used for this event. Instead, the event was made with a temporary fence around the RV Park's pool (area). In theory this was a good idea as it was HOT this day, but there was ZERO* shade both over the pool and in the event area in general. We arrived around 6PM to find that not only was there no shade, but 30 to 45 people were in each beverage line and we decided not to redeem our BBQ as this line had over 80 people! Overall, the music was good for the short period of time, but the event was pitiful. I produce events for a living and would be embarrassed to say this was my event.. Needless to say, we spent approximately 25 minutes there and took off. Single biggest waste of money ($200) in my life. I would NEVER go back to a Dirtybird event unless I knew it was run by a professional and organized event production team. *There were two sun shades that were hung by the dance floor area, but were 100% covered by individuals.

Had an absolute blast! The music was amazing, met some great people and met up with some old friends. I am most definitely planning on a second trip. There were three things that kept me from giving this a 5 star review: First, the BBQ lines were insane - it seems like this was an afterthought. Combined with the baking level heat of the sun, I nearly passed out trying to get a cold drink and didn't even try to get the food that I pre-paid for. it feels like the vendor was just overwhelmed though, this was a learning moment for everyone. Second, vendors in general were too sparse. I would have bought several other drinks if the opportunity had been there, but after waiting in line for 25 minutes for a single drink I was done. Again, logistics that are all easy to fix next time. Lastly ( and this was my fault) we're spoiled to the no smoking - I assumed that since COTA has a no smoking policy that would extend to this event, but it did not. So come prepared to be in the middle of the crazy. I'm allergic to smoke so we ended up having to leave a bit early -which worked out great since I was starving! Despite those details, RME did a great job and I hope that next year they iron our the details. The atmosphere was 110% on par with expectations, and the DJ's were clearly on point. Next year we come prepared to bath in cancer clouds and fingers crossed on some vendors selling cold drinks and nothing else.

They ran out of BBQ choices and there was nothing particularly special about the venue. The BBQ plate I received was not worth $20, it was a rip off. If there is ever a chance that you will run out of food at your event, you need to advertise the ticket with a big FIRST COME FIRST SERVE label, and the organizers didn't do that because they wanted to sell as many plates of food as possible. In fact, people who didn't pay for BBQ Feast Tickets ahead of time were still able to buy plates at the event with cash. This was unfair to the people who had purchased tickets a month earlier. because some of them (like me) only had the leftovers to pick through. This was the DirtyBird BBQ and all I got was a burnt piece of chicken. I would not recommend this event to a friend.

This was my first Dirtybird expierence, but Real MusicEvents always puts together a great show. We had such a good time, I can't wait to go back

I had a blast! Sometimes I get anxiety and don't enjoy crowds for that long, however, I really had fun. I definitely think the event was well managed and coordinated. I would go again and recommend it to friends!

Great party , awsome staff , & when's the next 1??

pros: music, atmosphere was so fun and positive. water stations were the best thing ever and so were the shaded parts and the pool. cons: the green net things under the grass. I slipped and fell a few times dancing and just walking. More bartenders would have been nice, 40 min in line kinda sucked when you couldnt hear the sets. And possiably more bbq trucks. Waited an hour in line in the heat and they ran out :/ over all i had a blast and would reccomend it to others as well!! thank you so much for the experience.

Dirtybird BBQ was ambitious, but RealMusic events pulled it off with flying colors. The crowd was engaged, the atmosphere beautiful and the music good. Can't wait to do it again.
