Downtown Festival

Sam Herring is so much fun to watch. Future Islands puts on an incredible show.

Band was surprisingly animate & entertaining. Venue was spacious & exciting for our first time & location & price was great. However, drink selection was poor, venue a bit dirty, & the sound was bad.

Went specifically to see bear hands. Saw them twice before (fabulous), so my disappointment is measured. They were pathetic! They had the robotic, blank stare, "we got paid already,so we have to do this" look. Fb'd them to figure what was going on and got a (hahahahaha)?????????reply. Must be a "I'm a rockstar" thing. Venue was dark and dingy, constant morrissey in between acts- YUK! I did'nt even stay for future islands. BUT, Total redemption the next nite. Panda bear & yacht-they are so much fun! And noah is fantastic!!!!

Russian Circles and Deafheaven brought it. Energetic performances and solid musicianship made my night. I was not really a fan of the two opening bands, especially the pretentious lead guitarist who was constantly hassling the sound-man blaming him for the poor sound. Could have done without the Atlas Moth in general, they were pretty awful. Apart from that, it was a great weekend festival!
