Priscilla - Queen of the Desert

This performance was our 15th time seeing the show. It was also Priscilla's final performance. This show has meant so much to my daughter and I over the past year. I cannot say enough good things about Priscilla. We will miss you terribly.

What I liked most was the way the actors made us feel that was real. The show is funny and the Theater has all the resources the actors needed to develop the drama and the funny situations, making us laugh and cry. I will for sure recommend this play to my friends in Venezuela.

Priscilla was a fun romp!! Comedy, dance, music, great stage design.... color, in more ways than one :)! I even was given my Broadway debut when I was one of the lucky few pulled up on stage from the audience for a Ho-Down number! :) Highlight of my trip to NYC!

I saw it in London and I cannot wait for it to arrive in the states. My friend had to 'drag' (excuse the pun) because I really didn't think I wanted to see it; I liked the movie, but a musical?? IT WAS FABULOUS!!! I wanted to go again the next day...and then again...but had to fly back to the states. i can't WAIT to get to NY and see it ''the American Way'.I've already started laughing!!

Most enjoyable Mother/Daughter day in years. Show was nothing short of fantastic. Costumes were breathtaking, music outstanding. Not a weak performance to be found.

5 stars isn't enough. It was our 5th time seeing this amazing show, and it was just as exciting and fresh as the first time! Every song brings me back to the best time of my life. As soon as we got home, i went online and got tickets for #6 on August 29th. Welcome to my new addiction!

My second time around on the bus called 'Priscilla' was as wonderful as the first! And I am not ruling out a third or a fourth!! What an amazing cast of players; so skilled and talented! And how many levels on which to enjoy this show: music and dancing, set and lighting, and costumes!!! But above all else, the ultimate message: love and acceptance! How wonderful is that ??!!!!! Congratulations to the cast and crew of Priscilla Queen of the Desert!!!

It was our 4th time seeing "Priscilla", and it was as good as it was the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd times! All i can say is ........ "SEE IT !!!" I promise you won't be disappointed. And if you go on August 10th, maybe you'll see us there for #5 !!!

One of the best shows I have ever seen. Very uplifting. Music was great! Costumes were phenominal and just an overall feeling of happiness when I left the theater. I LOVED the show. I would see it again......!

I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW MAGNIFICENT THE COSTUMES WERE .. THE MUSIC AND THE DANCING JUST BLEW ME AWAY. THE CAST WAS ONE OF THE BEST AND PLAYED THEIR PARTS TO PERFECTION. I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WAS GREAT BUTTHE MUSICAL ADAPTION WAS 100 TIMES BETTER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MUSICAL.

The show was fun from beginning to end. Great music, terrific performances by the entire cast, beautiful and creative sets and costumes - nothing missed the target! I wish I could have stayed and seen it again in the evening performance.

I went with a 75 year old mother and 16 year old daughter with my age in between. All 3 generations agreed...this was an amazing, funny and incredibly well done musical. Its what you come to Broadway to see. If you shy away from some 'Bette Midler style' raunch or are homophobic, do not bother to come. Its all in good fun with a good story line. Amazing professionalism in the above and beyond dancing and singing department. It just won the Tony for best costumes which are so incredible!!! They use familiar songs that you will know in very funny and different contexts. We saw one of the heavier dramatic plays the night before which was wonderful and felt that this rollicking fun show was the perfect way to spend our last night in NYC!! Don't miss it!

My daughter and I went to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert. It was her first Broadway show and the high point of her trip. The story sends a great message about tolerance and accepting people for who they are. The cast was both believable and over the top! The visuals both set and costumes are dazzling. The music made us smile and sing along. Overall it was fantabulous!

Non stop Fabulous! Loved this show so much I've watched it 5 times with more viewing to come, and it's only been open for 4 months... Great Music, Great storyline, Great Actors, clever writing, Amazing costumes, Upliftiing and joyful.

Went to the show not quite expecting what I came out with. I knew it was something about people traveling across the desert but boy were my friends and I AMAZED! We managed to get tix through tks in Times Square and weren't going to take them cuz they were rear mezz, but decided anyway to go. I must say that sitting in mezz was better but next time would sit in front mezz. Amazing dancing, singing, acting! The show kept you singing and dancing the whole nite and the costumes were awe inspiring. One thing that truly made my nite was that we decided to stay after the show to see if we could get some autographs and pics of the cast. EVERYONE that came through that door stopped at each person to autograph and take pics . They were truly amazing that they appreciated the audience and WANTED to give us their autographs and pics including the kid, Benji! We got some great shots of Nick and Will, the divas and everyone else who was so nice. I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!

The fabulous music, costumes and that crazy bus! What a wild ride. But the best was, Tony Sheldon. He was fantastic as Bernadette! I couldn't keep my eyes off him. Don't believe any negative reviews. The evening is joyful and you come out smiling and singing the songs.

Seeing "Priscilla" was part of an ongoing birthday celebration for a longtime friend & colleague. Between the talented cast, the outrageous costumes and the non-stop disco tunes we didn't know what to do with ourselves! A truly fun evening at the theater.

From the moment the show starts, to when it ends, you know you're in for something special! If you've seen the movie from the 1990's, this stage version will delight, tickle and amuse you, and if you haven't seen the film, after seeing this play, you're going to want to run out and rent it! The play starts off more upbeat than the movie version, and that's a big plus. We're soon on our way from cosmopolitan Sydney, Australia to Alice Springs, deep in the heart of nowhere. Along the way numerous memorable characters dot the landscape. Tick has a secret that his best friends don't even know. WIll Swenson plays Tick wonderfully. His partners are Bernadette, a transgender, aging ex Les Girls performer and the whacky and wonderful Felicia, played with dynamic electricity by tightly muscled and tightly wound Nick Adams. The rest of the cast is great, and many in the company get temporary star shots playing important characters that are on stage briefly.... Several of them are the characters Shirley, Cynthia and Bob... who are spot on! And let's not forget the 3 Divas who start off the show and are our muses throughout! The rest of the company is excellent, and equally flawless!

I'm not normally a fan of "juke box musicals" that take songs from other genres and shoehorn them into a Broadway show but when the main characters are lip-syncing drag queens it all seemed to fit just fine. Flashy sets and costumes reminiscent of a Las Vegas review make this a perfectly delightful night out, helped by the fact that it brought back many of my favorite hits of the disco era. Throw on a boa and have a blast!

Big show with tons of costumes and a huge set and packed with disco music and lots of laughs.

I enjoyed this show. I believe this was the first time I've ever attended a Broadway show, so I don't really have anything to compare the experience to. The theater (and the seats) were smaller than I was expecting. Oh, and I'm not much of a fan of musicals (especially when songs I like are reinterpreted), but I really liked this show. I think the costumes and the bus were the best parts of the show. I was impressed with what they were able to do on such a small stage. I thought all of the actors played their parts well. I was amazed how quickly the actors changed costumes...and not a single one showed a drop of sweat. At the end, one of the actors made a pitch for a charity. Sorry, it is the cheapskate in me who thinks that with a ticket price of over $100, they should not have background castmembers posted at every exit with a collection bucket.

Priscilla is filled with eye-popping surprises and holds your attention every second. You will literally be dazzled with the costumes and sets, and the story line keeps it all together. It is a few notches above most "drag-queen"- themed plays and venues, so it truly qualifies as theatre. I loved it and fully recommend your outlay of hard-earned bucks for this baby. It is one you won't forget.

This was the best afternoon I have spent in a long time! The show is truly amazing! Just when you think you cannot laugh any more- you do, and not just you, everyone. There are just plain funny moments, and true surprises. A fun, fantastic show! The music is GREAT! The acting superb! The genius behind making the bus (Priscilla) the center of it all and its transformations another three-thumbs up! The theatre was beautifully ornate, a perfect contradiction to the gaudiness of the show! I had read about uncomfortable seats, and terrible views beforehand, and was worried. No need! The seats were fine, comfortable with enough leg & butt room (and I am not small in either place). The view from the $99- seats was perfect. The only truth I found in those reviews was there are long bathroom lines, but when is there anything but? I would consider returning! Oh and don't expect the music to leave your head for at least a week afterwards!

This show was a high energy, entertaining event! The actors/acresses had amazing singing voices and acting ability. The costumes were bright, the dancing outstanding and the music had people dancing in their seats.

Having had the choice of forward booking for a few shows - we booked Priscilla and werent disappointed! Sure - you have to go with an open mind and realise the underlying nature of the show - otherwise dont go (4 people in front of us got up an walked out after 5 mins...what a waste of money and for someone else that would otherwise have gone due to it being a Saturday evening sell-out.) A spectacular show and one my wife and I didnt want to end. Fully recommended!

This musical was not on my list to see, I got invited and I have to admit that it is a lot of fun, LOVE the costumes Great fun!

My girlfriend and I saw the movie and all we can say is that the show was absolutely fantastic!!!!! The acting was so well done and the musical numbers were over the top magical. The same goes for the very clever sets, so well done and so colorful and so imaginative. You really felt that you were on that bus and having the best time..........

You will walk out smiling after seeing this feel good show. This campy extravaganza with wonderful costumes, sets, catchy tunes is definitely worthwhile and will give you a lift.

This is a must show to see! The costumes, the singing, the acting, all unforgettable! There isn't one dull moment. You'll be clapping and singing right along with them on stage. I'll definitely go see it again!

This was my 2nd time seeing Priscilla. It is excellent. Music is fun, you will be singing along with all the songs. Costumes are fantastic!! This won the 2011 tony award for best costume. The theatre at the Venetian is great and the sound quality is very good.

The Venetian was beautiful, the seats were great and the cast was truly amazing! I would see this again and again. I even bought the soundtrack the minute it was over.

Years ago, I loved the movie. Back in early 2011, I heard about the show coming to Broadway, and watched preview clips on You Tube. So, I bought a ticket for opening night of Previews, Feb. 28, 2011. I fell in LOVE! I could not believe they did everything from the film, that I thought they couldn't. And the cast is perfect...especially my man-crush, Nick Adams, a.k.a., Adam/Felicia...but that's another story! I have seen the show a total of 4 times to date, and will be there for my 5TH time, closing night, June 24, 2012. Sad that it is closing, but SO happy that it was here!!!

From Beginning to end the show is a good story, lots of fun, and an unbridled overall good time. The story transcends sexual orientation and is not just a show about "Drag Queens" It has a nostalgic old fashion feel like a Broadway show from a different time. I was pleased by the renditions and voices singing classic tunes we all know.

There are not enough words to say ... this show was funny, touching, laugh out loud ridiculous.....costumes were outrageous, beautiful, spectacular. Could have gone on for hours. Never a dull moment. Wonderful singing, fantastic dancing.....what else can I say. One of the best I've ever seen. Loved it!!!!!

Went with five friends. We had such a blast at the show. It was like being part of one big party. Enerybody was singing and having a great time. The cast was top notch. I plan on getting more of my friends together and going back again. Thanks for a great night out.

Ok ... i admit it. I'm terribly biased. I'm lucky enough to live close to New York City and see a lot of shows. I've fallen in love with "Priscilla", and this was the 23rd time i've seen it, with more to come. I've made new friends with other folks who feel the way i do about it. We get together regularly, and relive our glory days, so-to-speak. This is the show where you can go and cheer and whistle and applaud til your hands ache and your voice goes hoarse. The wonderful cast feeds off the audience's energy and gives it back multiplied by a thousand. It's a visual feast, and every song will conjure up memories. Open your mind and heart and feel the message of love, acceptance, and FUN !!!

I attended Priscilla Queen of the Desert with my two sisters for my one sisters 50th birthday. We had such a BLAST!! We laughed the whole time. The costumes were outrageous and so creative.The cast was so talented! The storyline was both humorous and touching. The music was the BEST!!! We sat in the second row in the orchestra so we were invited to dance on stage at one point and it was so much FUN!! What a great time we had and what a great memories were created. I would highly recommend this show for a girls night out!! It would definitely be worth it!!

The best show I ever experienced. The actors were true to life and made me very happy. Being there made me feel like I was part of the musical. Truly fantasic. I will see again and again.

Definitely the best show I have seen on Broadway! Very colorful, glamorous, amazing music, FABULOUS costumes! My mom was so thrilled with this show she wanted to come back the following night and see it again! Without a doubt VERY ENTERTAINING!

Having not seen the movie I didn't have any expectations. The acting, costumes, music, sets and props were what you would expect in a Broadway show and more!

I laughed so hard my sides hurt and smiled the entire performance making my jaw hurt. This is the funniest show I have ever seen and I see alot of theatre. The talent was amazing, great acting, great vocals, incredible dancing. Who doesn't love a chorus line of men dancing esp. in outrageous costumes with big platform shoes??? And what talent to be able to dance with such quick steps and kicks in such high and large oversized shoes. The special effects of the bus was incredible - its the original brite lite graffiti bus that is the ultimate party bus interior decorating. Loved the entire show and its concept of acceptance and love. Over all a happy funny show but with a reality of the abuse and hatred that exists still in our society and the spirit of love and being yourself overcoming.

This was my third time seeing this musical. If I could afford to go every day, I would. I was a bit down the night I went to see this, but once it started, I began to feel better and better. It's a feel good show. You'll be dancing in your seat, singing along with the cast, laughing at the antics & dialogue, and at times feeling empathy for some of the characters. Tony Sheldon does show a fine job of playing Bernadette. You forget you're seeing a man in a dress. He loses himself in the character and actually becomes a lady. Gavin Lodge took the stage as Tick / Mitzi in place of Will Swenson who was off that night. (Will is fabulous in the musical, by the way!) Gavin was wonderful as Tick especially in the MacArthur Park number and the bedtime number with Benji. Gaten Matarazzo played Benji and he is so good and very focused on what he's doing. He is also adorable. I wanted to bring him home! C. David Johnson is very good as Bob the mechanic. He brings a warmth and gentleness to his character. J. Elaine Marcos is a hoot as his wife Cynthia. Her "performance" is something you will never forget! Last but not least is my favorite character and actor in this musical: Nick Adams. His performance as Adam / Felicia is so full of energy, spunk, and sass. He is also great to look at, as he has a perfect body, with perfect abs, and doesn't mind showing it off. The musical numbers are all spectacular. Also, can't forget the DIVAS who are like beautiful angels, with voices to match, dropping from the sky.

Great show with "over the top" costumes and creative choreography. "La Cage aux Folles" on speed!

Priscilla was just as fabulous the second time seeing it. My daughter and I just loved the show so much the first time I just had to bring my mother and her friend. It was awesome both times.

Priscilla is "OUTRAGEOUS FUN" as advertised on the marquis outside! It is exciting, clever, heart-warming, and funny from start to finish. The cast is incredibly talented and gave 110%. The set and costumes are amazing. The whole show is a blast!

My night at Priscilla: Queen of the Desert was unforgettable! With Nick Adams, Tony Sheldon, and Will Swenson, you cannot go wrong! Muscles mixed with mascara is surprisingly not a bad combination. The choreography was absolutely phenomenal, the costumes and make-up (495 costumes, 261 costume changes, 60 wigs, 150 pairs of shoes, 200 hats/headdresses) was stunning, and don't get me started on the glass-breaking voices!! If you had to see only one broadway ever, it should definitely be Priscilla! and to finish off, ♥NICK. ADAMS♥ enough said (:

The three of us absolutely loved the play - it was fabulous and the costumes were just over the top! I was also picked to go on stage and it was a ball! Can't say enough about what a wonderful night on Broadway! The cast were so talented! Go Priscilla!!!! Bonnie

can't believe this play is closing, so much fun, color, and music unbelievable, such a great escape into a fantasy world

It is unfortunate that the show was closing because it was so much fun, it could go for another year of two. The seats were perfect and it was a good thing I sat in the Mezzanine as the show had so much going on, it would be hard to see if we sat lower. The music was awesome and while the actually story was not the greatest, the humor and the playfulness of the show carried it and if you were board, it was your own fault. It was kind of neat that the show fell on the same day of the gay pride parade, it made the atmosphere very colorful. I would go see this show again plus the theater was a work of art

The show was so much fun! The 80's music was great! The crowd was singing and clapping to the music. I would recommend it especially for a Saturday night!

Very entertaining and enjoyable show. It was a different theater experience for me, but definitely something I would like to see again or something like it.

The show was put together perfectly! Every song was perfection , the cast was phenomenal and the costumes were professional drag. For a show with a minimal set of primarily LED lights it was perfect. Would recommend to everyone, so sad it closed in NYC.

I have seen Priscilla Queen of the Desert numerous times but last night which was closing night the cast was exceptional! I have never enjoyed a play as much as I have enjoyed all the times I have seen Priscilla. The cast performed their all. I never sang, clapped, sang and yelled more that I did last night for any other show. I am so going to miss it. Bette Midler show take this entire cast and recreate it in a movie. The old Priscilla movie is nothing compared to the Broadway cast of this Priscilla.

Totally fun theatre!! Should have not close, ti would have drawn many people for the summer

I cannot think of one reason for this show to close. The artistry, costumes, dancing, scenery....everything was popping for the entire show. The cast was the best I have seen ever, as was the show.

I just seen Priscella for the 7th time, and sad to say the final time. It was the best show I have seen it was 2 1/2 hours of fun. I am so sorry to see it close i'm really going to miss it.

Sunday Night, the very last performance :( was unbelievably amazing!! Words cannot explain how awesome and how on point the whole cast was!! A big thank you to the cast for a wonderful show!! What a thrill it was to have been at the final performance of Priscilla Sunday night. The audience were such a loving,genuine audience. The entire cast was as awesome as the three times that I have previously seen the show. Priscilla will always be my FAVORITE!

I loved the movie and the plot of the Broadway show closely hewed to the movie so I appreciated that. The soundtrack was NOT the same as the movie which was a bit of a disappointment, but the songs that were chosen were still good. The audience was up in their seats clapping and dancing (myself included). Costumes were amazing. Acting was great. It was just such a fun, energetic, uplifting show, who couldn't enjoy it???? Definitely recommend!!!

Wish I saw this play sooner...... This is one of those few plays that you want to see again and again. Loved it. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Frankly there aren't enough stars in the universe to rate this show! It is the most heartwarming, happy, funny, amazing show I have ever seen. I can't believe it is over! It has brought me so much joy, so much happiness. It makes you think, it makes you laugh and it makes you cry. I attened the final performance last night and the energy of the audience was indescribable. If the audiences had been like that every night, this show would have never closed. I miss them already!!! :(

Saw this on June 23rd for the 2nd time. Night before show sadly left Broadway. 1st time it was my finacee and my first night out since her hospital stay and multiple surgeries battling cancer. We couldn't have picked a better show. Fun of great songs (some took new meanings), great cast, amazing costumes, the colors were great. We had to see one more time before it left Broadway. We will see it on tour and bringing all our friends. Such a fun night out.

Show was actually awesome. It is a shame that it has closed. So many people are going to miss out on great entertainment. The seats we had were wonderful!!! Third row from the stage.

Not very deep philosophically, music was not original and the whole plot was some what predictable. HOWEVER, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, was the most fun I have had in the theater since Momma Mia and I believe it even exceeded that show. What a shame it closed so soon.

What an extravaganza! Every number a show stopper, and it was an added plus that we knew all the songs. The costumes, the sets, the cast...everything supurb. I'm so sorry I didn't see it earlier . I more than likely would have seen it again, and certainly would have recommended it to many! It was great fun, and so upbeat!

"Priscilla" is a must see show. The talent and energy from the actors is amazing. I don't know how they can do two shows a day. The music is wonderful. The costumes are truly Bette Midler. This would make a great Vegas show. And the message still comes across.
