Maroon 5 was amazing Friday night! The venue was in a great location and felt like it was a more intimate show than others I have seen in bigger locations. Ingrid Michaelson kicked the show off by opening up for Maroon 5. Loved the set list that Maroon 5 did...even threw in a Christmas song! As always I enjoy seeing Adam and can't wait for the next show in Chicago area.

Best. Concert. Ever! It is never a disappointment going to see Maroon 5, and this concert was by far the best. First off, I never heard of the first opener, Ryan Star, but he did a good job; so much so to the point where I'm looking for his music to listen to. Same thing goes for Ingrid Michaelson. At the time, I don't believe I even heard of her until my friend pointed out one of the songs she sings. The minute I heard her, I knew I'd be getting her music as well. Very talented and very entertaining. As for the venue: beautiful....very regal and was a very great setting for a concert performance. I definitely would come back to the Chicago Theatre to see another concert. Now: for the best of the best: Maroon 5 rocked it; they seriously nailed it; and everyone (from where I was sitting) were on their feet. As always, Adam Levine knows how to work the crowd and I'm seeing more and more engagement from James Valentine. He's really drawing fans in when he plays. Being up front, I really had the opportunity to see Mickey Madden interacting with a group of young pre-teens as he played.....this band just knows how to envelope everyone and give them the best show to remember. While they did play a bit from the first two albums, it was great to hear 'Hands All Over" at this show, along with 'Misery" and "Give A Little More" and "Stutter"; hopefully by the time they start touring again in the states, they will do much more off of the third album. Bottom line? The concert was fantastic, and I'm glad that Maroon 5 loves Chicago so much to come back.

As always Miracle on State State is a highlight of the holiday season. This year's line up was thoroughly enjoyable. All four acts were tremendous and vocally talented. It's so wonderful that some of the proceeds benefit La Rabida Childrens' Hospital. Can't wait to see who performs next year!

All acts were great but each one was too short. For the cost it should have been longer. Breaks between each band were too long.

This was my first Miracle on State Street event. I was drawn in since Maroon 5 was headlining. The theater was great. I had box seats which came with a waitress to bring me drinks! The 2 opening acts were good. The only pitfall to this entire night was that Maroon 5 did not play long enough. Maybe that was the normal time slot since there were 2 opening bands. I could have listened and watched them play all night!

This was our first visit to The Chicago Theatre, and after experiencing the beautiful architecture of the building, I hope that it won't be our last! Miracle on State Street 12 was amazing, the best part being Maroon 5! Ingrid Michelson was very entertaining and got the audience involved in her songs. Eric and Kathy helped bring some humor to the night, too. Unfortunately, we missed Ryan Starr so we can't review that part. Overall, we would highly recommend The Chicago Theatre to anyone wanting to experience a true Chicago thing. The theatre is located close to so many restaurants, bars, shops, etc. so there's so much to do in this area! You should go a few hours before your concert just to explore!

Maroon 5 was awesome! I'd give it a five but they only sang 1 Christmas song and I would've thought since it's "Miracle on State Street," they wouldve at least sing more than 1 Christmas song. Surprised that show was not sold out.

This was my first time seeing Maroon 5 in concert! They were great...better live then on their cd! Adam Levine has a great stage presence. Lot's of interaction w/ the audience. Ingrid Michaelson was terrific. Very funny and great voice. Second time I've been to The Chicago Theater and would reccommend it. We had awesome seats.

Maroon 5 never disappoints. They were incredible. My favorite was a mash-up of their song "Secret" with Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It." I wish I could download it! They also played a rockin' "Winter Wonderland." Ingrid Michaelson is a wonderful performer as well. I've seen her twice now. Her humor and personality on stage are so endearing. If you even just tolerate her music, you should see her live. She's very entertaining... and of course very talented.

To be honest, I was only interested in seeing Maroon 5. I was VERY disappointed that they only played for literally an hour--not worth the $80 at all. Needless to say that I will never go to another one of their concerts again. I could have stayed home and listened t their Cds for free! They also did a horrible rendition of a Christmas song.

Maroon 5 was remarkable at the Chicago Theatre on Friday, December 3. They played all of their hits (in my mind). Their sound was great! They sounded every bit as good as on a CD. Looking forward to traveling to Chicago again to see more concerts. We drove in from Springfield, Missouri and it was WELL worth the trip!

Once again, solid line up. Big fan of Elle King and Third Eye Blind. Didn't know much about George Ezra or Nico & Vinz. All the bands played wonderful sets. I love TEB, however, can understand why they were third on the bill. Everyone else has new, hit music out. Glad they were included. I like The Mix, not a big radio listener. What I do know is that year after year they put on a great holiday concert for a great cause right here in the city!!

I should start out by saying that the Chicago Theater was gorgeous! The seats were quite comfortable even in the balcony. I also liked that this event gave some proceeds to charity. I originally bought tickets because I had seen George Ezra in Detroit back in September, and I NEEDED to see him live again. Also, I was pretty stoked for Elle King who did NOT disappoint. The only thing I would change is the order of the acts. I think that everyone was kind of tired by Nico & VInz. They were really energetic and fun, and would have been great to start the show with.

We attend the Miracle on State Street every year - as they say it definitely is a Holiday tradition in Chicago. This was a down year for the show, as the lineup of acts wasn't as good as previous years. It was also a bit unclear who the headliner would be - when Third Eye Blind came out 2nd (of 4 acts) a large portion of the crowd was definitely upset. They only played 5-6 songs and were off on a plane to Texas. By the time the 4th act came on, the majority of folks around us had left. It is always a bit strange to see a concert at the Chicago Theater. People don't really know whether to stand or sit. Plus since it's a charity show during Christmas season the vibe definitely isn't one of a rock and roll show, people tend to be more in a 'theater' mood where they want to relax and listen to some music in a relaxed way. So the atmosphere is always a bit 'strange' at this show.

Expected Third Eye Blind to be the headliner, as did many. They were thoroughly entertaining, unfortunately they only played about 5 songs (3 classics). Elle King and George Ezra were solid. Made it through a few minutes of Nico and VInz before losing interest and leaving.

This year's Miracle on State Street overall was enjoyable. Elle King and Third Eye Blind were sensational NICO and Vinz also provided some high energy entertainment to close the show. It seems that the acts could have been arranged differently to maximize the different talent and effect of the performing artists and groups. Elle King or Third Eye Blind should have closed the show and NICO and Vinz should have opened the night. The pauses between acts are still a distraction. It would seem that the radio personalities could engage in some sort of audience interaction to make the time go by quicker. Eric and Kathy seemed disengaged in the show and their two brief intro appearances not very welcoming.

Each band only played 5 songs. I went to see Third Eye Blind. They played their top three songs and two new ones. The show hardly started and they were off the stage. I was so disappointed. This format was terrible. I want my money and time back. Next year pick a headliner and have a real show.

The event was poorly described - bands played for 35 minutes which was not forewarned in any sense. Given there were 4 bands playing but the order of the bands was not even obviously disclosed let alone that they would each have time for 6 songs. The individual bands were excellent but the organization and overall dissemination of information was incredibly disappointing.

So, got the wife tickets to this as she was a huge Elle King fan. Planned a nice meal and perfectly arrived fashionably late (8pm) to miss one opening act. Keep in mind we don't go to concerts much anymore, but I recall that this was standard practice back in the day. So, who was the opening act? Elle King? Really?!? Not to put down any of the other acts (we enjoyed Third Eye Blind's energy and George Ezra's amazing voice), but I'm pretty sure we noticed the crowd thinning out for the final act (Nico and Vinz) whereas Elle King would have kept folks in their seats. Bottom line - I tried searching on the WTMX website for days in advance trying to figure out the order, but to me at least, it was never clear. Shame on me for not getting there on time and assuming that anyone could go first. But, one suggestion for future shows, make it clearer the order. Now we'll have to wait until Elle comes back to Chicago, and I guess we'll be on time.

I hadn't been to Miracle on State Street in years, but this lineup had me interested again. Mary Lambert was a bit disappointing. She did more talking than singing. Fitz and the Tantrums were fantastic and had everyone on their feet and dancing -- really energizing. Sam Smith has a silky smooth voice and a remarkably unassuming personality. To get to see someone that had just been nominated for several Grammy's was fantastic! Overall, it was a great show.

Mary Lambert was very funny and entertaining. Could not get enough of Fitz and the Tantrums - thought they were the headliner, so would have liked to hear more from them. Mary Lambert's performance was just OK. She has an agenda to her songs and expressed to the people we attended with a very dark side of life. Don't get me wrong she has nice vocals but her lyrics and talking points did not fit a holiday atmosphere for a Christmas concert. On the other hand Fitz and the Tantrums and Sam Smith were what we have grown to expect from the Miracle on State Street concerts; AMAZING, SUPERB, TALENTED, and so ENTERTAINING.. Audience participation was fun! Maybe a Christmas carol thrown in here and there would be great,

This by far was the worst event I have ever attended. The sound system was horrible. You couldn't understand anything any band or singer was singing. It was not a Christmas show at all. 101.9 did nothing with this event. They hung two banners off to the sides of the stage and sold it as a Christmas show. There was only one Christmas song sang the whole night. The stage had nothing on it but the bands equipment. Not a tree or even a computer imaged backdrop. Nothing. I would never attend another 101.9 event. 101.9 made Chicago look bad. Sam Smith was the only saving grace of the evening. He has an amazing voice.

I have been to many Miracle on States, and this one totally disappointed me. Sam Smith sang for 40 minutes. The main act sang for 40 minutes! This was a Christmas show with no Christmas songs. For $90, I could have gone to a Blackhawks game. Twice! And that would have been 6 hours of fun!

The show started off with American Authors, who I really enjoyed. Then Colbie Caillat came on. I knew a lot more songs than I thought and thought that she was great live. The Plain White Tees were also great! They were energetic and put on a great show! However, they saved the best for last. The Backstreet Boys were AMAZING!!! Experience was not a good one! The seats are very low to the ground and made for an unpleasant time. They also clearly have no heat as I needed a winter coat during the entire show and was still cold. Throwing in an opening act to a three act show was unpleasant, but they were the best part of the show. American Authors sang three songs and were a lot of fun as it was all upbeat. Colbie caillat gave a little too much information about herself, including her good poisoning, between songs. Her throat had clearly not recovered as she sounded off. Plain white t's were plain AWFUL. They started their 9-10 song set with five songs no ones ever heard as they weren't singles. The awful rock sound and screaming in the songs did not encourage me to go buy their album. By the time they started singing recognizable songs, we were already wanting to move on. Perfect time for bathroom and food break! The Backstreet Boys came on at 10; reminiscent of their August concert where you're ready to go home around when they hit the stage. After working all day, my group was tired and still had to drive home. We listened to about 6 songs, and sadly left. So much for their "special performance."
